Artemis tends to be polite and quiet around those she does not know. She is a cautious creature, filled with distrust and doubt. Yet when she comes out of her shell, the mare leans toward a more friendly persona and can have an oddly sarcastic side when she opens up. Fiercely loyal and a believer in fighting for not only survival, but for 'good', Artemis has a strong dislike for those who revel in anothers pain. Yet she is not a pacifist. Artemis is strong and courageous, and is afraid of very little. One of the few things she fears is water, though she tells no one why this is.

LINEAGE

HISTORY
Born to a herdless mare, Artemis had to grow up fast. Her mother was a strong and brave creature, but sickly. She taught Artemis how to survive on her own, and how to fight to protect herself. She warned her daughter of the hatred a herd possessed. She branded the idea that lead stallions were 'heartless, self absorbed creatures, who used mares as toys and little more'. Artemis never questioned this as a foal, but as she grew she began to see the scars upon the old mares body, and painted a picture in her mind of what had occurred.

One day, her mothers past herd found them. The day had started out plain enough, with the pair grazing after a morning spar, for her mother was a great fighter in her prime and was eager to teach Artemis the basics. Yet as the sun hit the highest point, the sound of hooves coming over the hills began to shake the ground. She was not yet an adult and for the first time, felt fear rise within her. Her mother, upon spotting the cruel stallion and father to her daughter, urged her child to flee. They ran for their lives, both not knowing what would happen if the stallion discovered them. In her mothers desperation, they took a wrong turn and came upon a river. The waters were higher than usual after the rainy season, with the waters moving fast and violently. They plunged into the water without a second thought, but the sicky mare was not strong enough. Artemis reached the shore with relative ease, then turned, expecting to see her mother.

But her mother never followed. The last thing she saw of the chestnut mare was her head bobbing slightly over the waves, before pulling pulled under. She never resurfaced. The grey had no choice, then, but to run.

Entered Helovia and joined the Grey thanks to Apollo. So far in her journey she has fought in an Invasion mere days after being taken into the Foothills. Met with a personal dilemma after this fight, Artemis wandered the land, for a time staying in the north as it reminded her of her homeland. Here she met Tharos, whom she quickly grew fond of (though she would never admit it). Returning to the Foothills, she is trying hard to find her place in this world.
