Alysanne was born in another land, similar to Helovia but not quite the exact same. Her father was something of an earth magician that fell in love with her pegasus mother. Their offspring, Alysanne and her twin sister Iona, were therefore of two worlds and were raised as outcasts - being too much like their father for her mother's herd and too little like her father for his. But their family was happy, and the two girls were close. Alysanne had a preference for learning about the earth and the plants that grew on the surface while Iona was fascinated by the sky and grew to be much better at flying. 



Once they were old enough to be on their own, the two girls set out to find a home of their own. 



It was Nocturne that they discovered first, a land once populated by humans – suburban ruins standing where nature had not yet taken over – and where demons, angels, elementals and all manner of creatures in between made their home. They travelled together for a time. Making friends with another pair of twins, Aleksandr and Konstantin. Alysanne quickly grew to adore and care for Aleksandr, the one who didn’t understand how she could hold him so dear. 



After knowing each other for a time, Alysanne became pregnant. Before she even knew (suspected, of course, given the actions that had been involved) she went exploring in the dark caves of Nocturne. They discovered a demon, a dark and angry creature named Abaddon. Unwilling to let the twins escape, he tortured them – making them both suffer and imprinting terrifying illusions in their mind. It was there that Alysanne learned that she was pregnant, as her wing was torn and broken and he whispered cruel things about her unborn child. 



They escaped, or were set free, and covered in blood – each other’s and their own – they tried to look for aid. Believing that she would either die or miscarry, Alysanne found Aleksandr and informed him of her pregnancy. He did his best to heal her wounds, draining his own energy, and comforted her. 

The physical wounds were nothing compared to what Alysanne faced emotionally – worry plagued her all through her pregnancy and she shied away from friends and strangers alike, unwilling to let anyone get close enough to hurt her.

On the shores of a great beautiful lake, she lay in sadness when an otter came across her. Tired from nightmare filled nights and terror filled days, she worried that even the bright blue eyed, adorable creature might hurt her. It was not truly an otter but rather Miykael, a fallen angel with the ability to shape shift. Speaking kind words to her, he healed her wounds, which had begun to get infected and turn, and became a good friend. In time, he would use his magic to shield the events in the cave from her mind – removing her fear and depression. Instead, she merely was left to believe it had been an animal attack and suffered fewer nightmares because of it. 



Some months later, she gave birth to a healthy son – Artorius – and brought him to live in Ferraden, the jungle land where his father lived. 

For a time, Alysanne busied herself raising her son, occasionally looking after her twin’s two foals as well, and integrating herself into the ranks at Ferraden. It seemed to her that she had finally found a home and she was contently surrounded by friends and family.



But, not much later, a harsh winter came upon Nocturne. When a particularly vicious winter storm hit, Alysanne became lost. She wandered, never giving up hope that eventually she would find her way back to her family. 

And in her wanderings, she discovered Helovia.
