Mane: Long and silky smooth, often decorated with leaves and flowers.
Tail: Leonine in shape, but hair trickled down its entire length, growing longer and more free towards the end.
Hooves: Cloven.
Colour & Markings: Chocolate as the Earth, Lotus' coat varies as it stretches across her hide. Along her legs a darker hue, that found in rich damp soil, colours her limber legs. Across her flanks a lighter, seal brown can be seen, blending smoothly into a rich cocoa upon her shoulder, chest and neck. Her rump area is a shade in between that of her legs and flank, not altogether dark and not altogether light.

The Earth marking in forest green on her right shoulder (where a brand is usually placed), the Water marking in aqua blue on her left shoulder, each marking is approximately 7 inches tall.
Horn: Pearlescent in structure, her horn is long, medium in thickness and smoother than the finest crystal. It shimmers between shades of green and brown, changing depending on the way the light hits it.
Other: Blossoming from her mane and tail is a constant supply of flowers, mostly small ones, with scattered larger ones coming through. Invariably, there is always a lotus flower sitting stop her tiara, leaning against one of her ears. These flowers are very fragrant, and unwittingly cause those of the male gender to be attracted to her.

Lotus has grown since her arrival upon Helovia. First she was wary of stallions, not sure of how to behave around them, still viewing them as brainless sperm donors more than anything else. She has learned to respect a few who have proved to have brains, and has turned her need to sacrifice blood to her Earth God by growing a racist streak. She speaks her mind, is a shameless flirt with those she finds attractive, and is more than happy to use her magic to convince a stallion to spend an evening with her at the Grove. She has no true care for a relationship as deep as love, and sees it as impossible anyway, as all males are affected by her magic, she never knows whether they are being true to themselves or merely behaving on infatuation caused by her presence. So she finds her happiness in intimate situations with whomever strikes her fancy at the time - assuming they are unicorn, of course.

History:
Raised in an Amazonian herd of mares, Lotus' birth was caused by the passionate entwining of two souls. It was tradition for her herd, in order to repopulate, to lure a band of bachelors to their great forests. Here they would play and frolick for many months - before turning on the stallions and feeding the Earthen God with their blood. It simply was the way things were done.

For Lotus this was nothing unusual or foreign, but rather a birthright, something that she was not only expected to do, but wanted to do.

As the years went by Lotus was not yet old enough to participate in the mating ritual of her kind, she witnessed the fabled event in awe. For two seasons she watched as her mother and aunts slaughtered the stallions, twice she rejoiced with them as more fillies were born into the herd. Colts were born at a decreased rate to fillies - the reason for this was unknown - and it was up to the mother to deal with the matter as she saw fit. Some, like Lotus' mother, slaughtered anything male upon sight. Others departed the herd for a time and raised their sons far away, telling them never to return to the lands.

It was with one such colt that Lotus found herself befriended. He was born the season of her third birthday, to one of her close aunts. She was saddened by his birth, as were the whole herd, for colts were not wanted here. The aunt, Phye, wandered away to raise the colt on the outskirts of the lands. As a learning tool, Lotus went with her, for the next season she was due to participate in the ritual, and she wasn't yet sure what she would do if a colt were to be the result of her union with a male. Jereh, the colt was named. Lotus helped to raise him, at first seeing him as she had always seen those of the opposite sex, a tool, a waste of space. But time went on, and she grew to enjoy his company, even loving him like she would one of her sisters.

It was many months since they had been gone, and Lotus' mother, Tierra came looking for her beloved daughter, worried about her safety, though trusting in Phye. When Tierra found Lotus to be genuinely attached to a male, Tierra went into a rage. She questioned Phye, blaming the aunt for not putting a stop to the friendship sooner. She scorned Lotus, who was shocked silent and forced to witness the slaughter of her comrade, Jereh. The young mare was furious and heartbroken by the actions of her mother, and ran from the lands.

And then she came across Helovia.

HELOVIA.
- Runs for days, arrives at World's Edge. Met by d'Artagnon the Moon Doctor. He summons Mauja to pass final judgement.
- Passes judgement with Mauja, joins the Edge as a Warrior.
- Meets Anthym within the Edge.
- Correctly solves some riddles and puzzles to be given the chance to try for a cat companion.
- Hunts successfully for the kitten.
- Names the mink seal ragdoll kitten Dirk.
- Meets Ulrik at the Frozen Arch. Discusses unicorn supremacy with him.
- Goes to Ulrik, who calls for a meeting of fellow supremacists in the Edge.
- Finds Ulrik on the Frostbreathe Steppe. Is very attracted to him.
- While with Ulrik, she happens to miss the Sun God burning down a large section of the Edge. On her return to see the damage, she stumbles across Mauja and d'Artagnon.
