the lion isn't sacred when not sleeping near the lamb,
From a distance, Osiris has the appearance of a giant wolf. His body reaches nearly 18 hands above the ground, projecting him well above the average inhabitant of Helovia. He is graced with the build of a large draft horse, his body thickly muscled and heavy. His facial features are normal for an equine, aside from when the great hybrid opens his mouth. The flat teeth of horses are nowhere to be seen, replaced instead with sharpened teeth of a canine, hinting at the majority of his diet. His eyes are a bright, golden color, and are very similar to that of his wolven cousins'. His body is painted with the same coloration of a gray wolf, with the white legs and undercarriage, as well as the partially whitened face. The sides and back of the beast are darker. Great waves of hair sprout from his neck and tail, a normal fixture for horses. However, a thick layer also resides on the stomach of the animal, like any proper wolf. Descending to the ground to support the giant stallion are four wolf-like legs, allowing for extra agility and silent travels. Four massive paws are fixed at the end, with large black claws from each of the large toes.
it is evil when it eats unless it's feeding from the damned.
The wolf is a very solitary creature. Brought on by the unique appearance, strange looks and foul words have long since ostracized him from society. As a result, the hybrid will often undergo great lengths to avoid the interaction of others, slinking around in the shadows that distort his nightmarish appearance, making him more agreeable to the eyes of the inhabitants of Helovia. A great loneliness is the result of this solitude, tying the creature to a more melancholy feeling that would be obvious if one would pause to truly look past his grizzly features. The fear of rejection, built up from years of negative experience with others, is something that had kept him out of the sight of the land for years. Were it not for his companion, Comadre, the friendly little black dragon, Osiris likely would never had ventured to meet anyone after the disappearance of Oblivion. The reclusive behavior which ruled the hybrid has been held at bay by the dragon, who often forces Osiris to interact with others when he would rather not.
Allowing for the company of others has often landed the wolf in uncomfortable or inconvenient situations. It is because of those rare interactions that we find the wolf has a strong set or morals engrained in his mind, despite the treatment that may have been extended to him in the past. A tough sort of kindness can be found in the creature; often his attempts to help are masked by sarcastic remarks and callous tones, but the good intentions cannot be missed. Begrudgingly, the wolf extends his aid to others, sometimes without being asked. There is an unspoken need to do the right thing by others, even if his tactics may be untraditional or even unorthodox. No matter the danger you find yourself in, the hybrid is a good ally to have by your side.
hoping somewhere on this shaking earth, they could find a place to stand.
Osiris's mother was the shire mare named Akeldama.
His father, a wolf, was called Cheveyo.
Of his many half-siblings, Osiris has met three of them:
Taino the female wolf, Shikari and Xiu, his equine half-brothers.
all the children painted diagrams of god upon their hands,
The story of such a creature as Osiris does not begin with the wolf himself. Instead, the real history begins with the story of his parents, an equine and a wolf which would form what most would consider an unholy union. However, in the land of Lemuria, the place of Osiris’s birth, there existed such a God who thought the opposite of this unlikely love.
Upon meeting Cheveyo, as Akeldama would later explain to her first son, she knew, without a single sound, that the wolf was speaking to her. Something in his eyes, she said, spoke more words than I had in my entire lifetime. Words which, restricted by the difference in species, had to be spoken in silence. The Gods, who reigned above in general indifference, began to watch the pair then. The bond between the two grew over time, using nothing more than eye contact, occasional glances of touch, and the simplicity of running. Upon the realization of their love, the parents of Osiris also met with dismay. Such an unlikely love, so impossible, could never be.
That tearing of hearts created the loudest sound of all; alarming one of the younger Gods, Cheveyo and Akeldama caused him to do something truly unorthodox. Without consent of his brethren Gods, the young one slipped down from the heavens, building himself the physical form of a man. With vines and leaves for clothes, which wrapped naturally around his form, the God approached the pair. Speaking in a voice which reached their minds, not their ears, the God agreed to bless them with shared time in one form - the God warned, however, that the transformation would be impermanent. Cheveyo, long mesmerized with the form of an equine, chose to take the opportunity. With a small smile, the young God pulled at the wolf’s spirit, causing his body to shift and meld into that of a large stallion, with the coloration of a grey wolf. The golden eyes which peered out from behind a thick forelock, however, were the same.
Born to the happy parents Cheveyo and Akeldama, the peaceful world did not last long. While the mare did not fright at the oddly canine appearance of her first son, there was unspoken tension between the couple before long. The time spent in the body of an equine had been momentary, and the weight placed on their hearts grew to be too heavy before long. Faced with an impossible loved, Akeldama took her son, little more than a newborn, and left.
Osiris remembers his mother well, due to the fact that he spent the majority of his early life surrounded by only her. Akeldama faced many challenges of being cast aside by herds due to her peculiar looking son. When the time came the two finally settled into a normal, comfortable life in a herd, Osiris was resented by his mother. While not directly cruel, the hybrid felt a heavy set of eyes upon him when his mother would watch him. Then, there came the horridly critical half-brothers, three years his junior, which looked upon their eldest brother as a circus animal. Before too long, Osiris took it upon himself to leave in the middle of the night, venturing into an unknown world, but free of his former chains.
After several years, a hardened and rather lonely Osiris made his way to the land called Isilme. He spent the majority of his early years in the land fighting as one of Oblivion’s Dogs. He helped to invade the Woodlands beside the Demonking, and, after Nato had betrayed their leader, spent the majority of his time as a reclusive outcast. There were brief attempts to re-band with Oblivion, but none were successful. He obtained a black dragon egg from the root of a tree by telling a convincingly scary story. Upon the catastrophic explosion caused by the children of the Gods, Osiris awoke surrounded by wolves.
