Aswane [As-wah-nay] is the epitome of earth. She moves with tenuous allure, and is very careful in the ways she holds herself. One might say that she is frail - but they are wrong. The girl is undoubtedly sturdy, though not in appearance. She is only bulky enough to live up to the world's anguish, surviving like the thin stalks of grass that welcome the world with the bravest faces known. She holds herself with delicate confidence even if she does not realize it. Her legs are skinny and tall, while her body seems also uphill. Aswane's neck cranes ever-so-naturally from her father's Spanish heritage.

Her coat is specked often with pieces of earth; grass, leaves, and sometimes even dirt tangle into her rich bay tones. But this does not make her unattractive. Aswane's wind-tousled mane and tail are the color of a sea's pearl like her mother's, almost like the pearl that dangles so freely in her father's mane. Three white stockings also climb high up her legs, though her left foreleg is left blank. A white snip seems smudged on her lips and a star marks her forehead like one of those bright star-mistaken planets in the sky.

Aswane works in cycles like the seasons, like rain that pats leaves of trees. Her mind is lost in twirls of deep thought and question. As she is young, she is always wondering about the ways in which are right and wrong, good and bad - her own conclusion will come later on in life, after Helovia has melded her from then on.

First Year

Born to the lovestruck parents Evangeline and Validino, were two weak, premature foals. Aswane was the first foal to face out into the harsh cold, followed by her sister who was horribly crippled and weak with clubbed feet. The Storyteller of the Foothills, Willow helped heal the fever and premature sickness of the foals, but her sister was unable to heal from the dangerously clubbed feet, and her parents left Aswane behind to seek help with her deformed sibling's feet. As the lonely filly grew alongside her moon-wise sister, she grew very close to Loorien and it's magical value. She liked to listen to her sister's stories about their parents and how much they loved each other. She always wondered is her parents even loved her, but Aylin always assured her they were coming back after they fixed up her sister. Aswane would take nearly endless walks through the Heavenly Fields seeking spiritual refuge in the Gods of Helovia. She seeks knowledge in the history of magic and her ancestors.
