Honorable Gentlemen [Goss/Smoke] - Official - 08-12-2012 Boltar March 4th, 2012 at 10:42pm Boltar the grey stallion wandered farther into the Foothills, not having seen any leadership recently. He would be interesting in leading, but he was a kind soul with a gentle spirit. The stallion, used to living so very alone, was simply content to have company once more. In a relaxed manner, the tall and muscular grey moved through little patches of snow, breath puffing out in white smoke. He would be very pleased when winter finally shed its white coat. He wished more than anything though to be able to serve, to protect and to provide. Boltar was driven by a desire to take care of others, having had to take care of his dam for so very long. Once she passed, he spent days digging her a grave, and he was even struck by lightning without being harmed. Now, he found that whenever he got too angry or frustrating, tendrils of blue electricity would spark from his body and zap those around him. He had to be very careful to calm his own personality. Boltar had practiced with his temper though, and he discovered that when he was guarding those he held dear, he could channel the electricity. He could use it as a tool for protection, and he was glad for this. Hopefully he would be able to make amends with the leadership. Smoke the Wild Rose March 5th, 2012 at 9:01pm A desire to know her new homeland better had the grulla mare trekking across the varied terrain of the Foothills, familiarizing herself with the way the land unfolded. It was still a fairly empty territory, when it came to sheer population, so the catching of a new scent caught her interest immediately. Adjusting her course, she headed after the new scent, allowing her dragon to fly ahead and scout out her path... and find the stranger. Which let her drop some of the trail following and cut straight toward the stallion wandering about. Cresting a small rise, she gazed down at him with a slightly critical eye. A thought to Zaffre had the little blue shooting a message to Lazulli with an image of the stallion and a question. Essentially, do you know him? I don't. Flicking her tail against her haunches, Smoke began to approach the grey with her best sure and confident gait. Let him get a good look at her and draw some conclusion from the self-assured grulla mare marred with scars from burns and battle. Easier to garner some shred of cautious respect that way. "Greetings, stranger. Are you new here to the Foothills? I am Smoke the Wild Rose, one of the leaders here. And this is Zaffre." The last was spoken as the two-toned dragon flew down to land upon her haunches, pale underside briefly displayed before he settled comfortably upon his bonded's back, wings gleaming brightly in the winter sun before folded against dark-hided sides. [Dragon tag to Goss and Lazulli if Goss is going to pop in here. ^.^] Gossamer the Benevolent March 6th, 2012 at 12:13am Gossamer had been out scouting the land for defensive areas when she and Lazulli had received the image of the stallion. She and Lazulli stopped in their travels to contemplate this stallion. Both agreed that neither of them knew him and Lazulli sent the reply back to the other blue. Shortly after the message had been received she took off at a light canter, her movements fluid and rich with grace. Though it was not really necessary for her to be present for this meeting, she would one day have to meet every member of her herd and, she reasoned, she might as well stay ahead of the game. She followed Smoke's scent and crested the same hill mere moments after Smoke's own arrival. Her jeweled mane and tail glinted in the afternoon sun as it swirled about her dramatically before swooshing to a rest as she settled into a floating walk. She gracefully maneuvered the descent with ease, a wisp upon the wind. She had closed off her mind this day and was attempting to only pick up tendrils of thoughts and emotions. It was not good to linger to long in the minds of others. She reached the two with a relaxed air about her, for she knew this stallion was kind by his thought tendrils, the seepage of one's mind. "Greetings, I am Gossamer the Benevolent, also a lead of this herd and my companion is Lazulli. Though I do not know you, it is good to meet you" Her voice was kind and honest, but strong. Her stance, though relaxed and open, had something about it that asked for respect; she commanded but did not flaunt. Boltar March 7th, 2012 at 9:23pm Boltar heard the steady steps of another approaching, and he turned his head to look. A grulla mare confidently walked toward him, and he studied her carefully. She was bonded to a dragon, he could tell, from the shadow circling on the ground, and her body was scraped and scarred from battle. He listened to her words and nodded, interested in this herd. Another mare approached then, also claiming to be a lead, and he furrowed his brows. No stallion? That was strange to say the least. Both mares, both with blue dragons, he observed. Body calm, he watched. Even with all the confusion, he was happy to be around others. He swished his tail around his legs in a relaxed way. "My name is Boltar,"he replied. "I come from the north, and I seek a more permanent residence. Might I be able to offer the services of a warrior in exchange for freedom here?" Smoke the Wild Rose March 7th, 2012 at 10:06pm Within moments of having sent the image and the question, they received their answer. An ear tilted back to listen for Gossamer's approach even as Smoke paced toward the stallion. He watched her in the same way she studied him, and Smoke found herself liking his quiet and observant manner. Better to have a thoughtful stallion than a rash one, she would know. Gossmer was quick to join them, and Zaffre trilled a greeting to the older blue. Smoke listened as the pale mare spoke in turn, followed by the stallion. Boltar, he said he was. And just as much a foreigner as they were to Helovia. Rather fitting, Smoke thought. "All are welcome, so long as they do not mind sharing their home with those of other races." Her gaze swept over him once more. "We can use another warrior." Then she glanced over at her fellow leader and quirked an ear, waiting to hear what Gossamer would think of and say to Boltar. After all, the pale mare did have the final say in such things. Gossamer the Benevolent March 20th, 2012 at 1:54am Soft brown eyes gazed intently upon the figure before her eyes. He spoke of wanting to live here and asking for warriorship but was he honest? She considered the stallion. He was strong, had some age behind him so he was certainly knowledgeable, and he seemed to be of honest bearing. The thought suddenly occurred to her that to probe his mind for information would be rude, but if she truly wanted to create a safe haven, where no evildoer would live, she would have to ensure that all newcomers had been probed by her before they could enter. Though she already had many plans and knew the rules she had for her land, this new bit of information was added to the list and she proceeded with the process as laid out by her thoughts. She had been silent for a moment and was silent for a moment more as she locked her gaze upon his eyes, whether he met her or not was up to him, and she sent a slow, weaving tendril of power into his mind. She was gentle how she did it, she would always be kind. He would not feel it, probably not even sense it was there, but if he did it would bring a slight unease to his mind for her gaze was not kind, not rude, but calculating and true, as the tendril weaved its work. She felt every thought and intention and then withdrew, her decision made. Lazulli dove down from his aerial flight with Zaffre to rest upon her hind end. Gossamer nodded her head towards the questioning Smoke in agreement, "I agree with Smoke, you are of honest intention and kind bearing. I would be glad to have you as a warrior friend." with her friendly voice honest and kind her eyes glinted with the assurance of the faithful and her expression was one of happiness. |
