Almost Paradise - Official - 08-12-2012 Aaron April 10th, 2012 at 2:33am After the meet with the God of the Earth, the young painted colt had returned to the beach where he had found Phi and everyone else. Secretly he had hoped to see her again, but when he had not Aaron settled in to a long walk along the beach. He needed to clear his mind, to really think about it all. He was a yearling now, one more year and he to could start a family like his mother had begun to do.... Then again did he really want to put his heart out there? His brown eyes had watched his mother struggle in the absence of his father.... and just when his father had returned the shades seemed to of taken him away as well. His mind whirled with thoughts, the want to have a family..... the want to... well tell Phi that he cared about her as more than just a best friend should. The thought scared the young colt, but at the same time hadn't that been how his parents had become a pair? Even now with him living in the herd lead by Phi's grandmother, or so he had been told, he just didn't know what to do. After walking for a while, the brown and white colt flopped down to the sand just close enough that the waters lapped at his right side. He sighed heavily and closed his eyes, deciding to rest here where it was peaceful. Where he could think........ Random Event April 13th, 2012 at 5:38pm Something funny is going on. You can feel the water begin to push more intently at your side. The blue ocean sends increasingly large waves toward you, though your eyes might not be watching. The signs start out gently, gradually building up. Then, you feel no more pull of the water, and the sand on which you lay begins to feel unusually dry. A rolling sound can be heard from behind you. It would be best not to turn your head, though, as a giant wave is making its way toward you, easily your standing height. The water crashes over where your body had been laying, bringing with it a flurry of undersea life from seaweed to a disgruntled octopus that begins tugging its way back toward the water, making lots of irritated scoffs along the way. Well, that was unusual. Enheduanna April 15th, 2012 at 1:04am I had been wandering when I saw the little foal laying on the ground. He was a cute little sort, not handsome, but cute. He was so cute, in fact, that I thought I should go see why he was out wandering around without his mother when he was still so young. Making up my mind I pick up my mother's floating gait, set it to trot, and make my way towards him just as a large wave crashes over the sands and rolls over his body. I squeal as the water creeps up my pretty, clean coat before receding back. I remember the little colt and fling my gaze back in his direction, gallop the last few steps between us, and slow to a walk just in time to keep from spraying him with sand, be he standing or still laying down. Alarmed I let out a worried whinny and say in my naturally smooth voice, "By the gods, are you ok!?" I glance at him worriedly in the sunlight, the top of my hide a rosy gold mirror while the wet parts of my hide drip salt water... Aaron April 18th, 2012 at 1:50pm Lost in his thoughts, the dual colored colt did not notice the water hitting his side steadily harder. He scrambled to his feet and not a moment to soon. The sound of the water moving fast towards him, faster than normal. Just as he sprang forward the water crashed down over him. It knocked him about and he struggled to stay standing. He snorted as the wave completely crashed over him, stumbling forward. It wasn't until he regained his footing that he noticed the filly.... Well no she wasn't really a filly anymore. As he shook off she came running towards him, asking if he was ok... It took him a minute to find his voice "Yea, i'm fine." Little embarressed but he was ok. He tilted his head "I'm Aaron, son of Solstice... You are?" Enheduanna May 5th, 2012 at 3:29pm I sigh with relief as the colt replies to my question with mild embarrassment and introduces himself as Aaron. What an unusual name, I think, for a horse to have. But at the mention of Solstice I perk up, for my mother told me of meeting her long lost friend's filly, now a mare, by that name. If I remember right Mother and Smoke had made her a warrior. I offer him a bright smile and reply, "Oh, I'm Enheduanna, but you can call me Enna, daughter of Gossamer the Benevolent and Indy the Righteous." I look about and, still seeing no mother about, I inquire as to his wandering."What brings you to the ocean here alone?" It wasn't that I disapproved per say what with all my nighttime wanderings as a filly. But I usually snuck out to meet disapproving herd foals back when we were traveling or to flirt with others, hardly ever had I left to just be alone. I wonder what has happened to him to make him wish to be lonely. |
