1. The first thing you get when you google Confutatis is Mozart's piece "Confutatis Maledictis", which translates to Doomed. The title was also a slight nudge to look at this in latin.

2. Name & Appearance ref: "Disproving" only is correctly translated to "Confutatis" English to Latin; "Close to death" is a ref to her skull-marking

3. Eye color ref. Halcyon is a synonym for gold/golden (amber yellow) while sterling is a synonym for silver (blind eye)
