stay strong and bright - Tandavi - 04-01-2014 The reunion between mismatched siblings is joyous, intimate, and not do be shared. Let it only be said that they knew they would find each other again, on this day, at this place, at the base of the bridge to the sea and the gods. That the boy arrived first, a small dark dot in the early morning blaze, flames licking eagerly at his three thick tails, gold eyes bright as the rising sun. That he did not wait long before she came, a shining knight on the west horizon, the light woven in her mane casting a halo around her crown. That they came together in a flash of elation and fire and love. That they spoke then for hours, and did not speak for as long, and both knew at last that they were whole once more. It is noon when their tone grows serious, and for the first time a cloud crosses the filly's face. "Lace?" she asks the kitsune, but she knows his answer before she asks. Her brother shakes his gold eyed head, ears falling marking plainly the sadness he feels. She shuts her onyx eyes, letting her forelock hide her pain, retreating into the safety of her mind. Sadness etches soft lines in her face, and for a minute she is the filly of a month ago, a week, broken and frail. What chance has she against the darkness of the world? But further inspection reveals the truth- like metal tempered by flame she has changed, and now she glows with a ferocious passion. Where once she was skinny the girl is lean, laced with wiry muscle beneath her winter coat. Gone is the last of her baby fat, replaced with shallow lines and tight steps. The purple flower in her mane stays strong and bright, contrasting against the silver-gold braids, the feathered gold legs. Onyx eyes gleam eager and hard, still bright with childlike wonder but differently, now, tinted with an edge of anger and righteous rage. Little scars litter her knees, her face. Nay, she is not that broken filly- and as she opens her eyes the child fades, replaced by a young woman melted and reforged. A smile crashes from behind the clouds, small, nearly gone, but very much there. Nothing can stop them now, Tandavi knows, now that they have found each other, and Natraj's soul sings agreement and pride. In their hours of discussion they have forged a plan, and armed with this they straighten, snouts pointed toward the island of gods. They shall talk to the Sun, for she has finished her quest, and ask for what Tandavi now knows she needs: the power to heal those she loves. Then they will find Lace, and save him, and find the blue mare she met in the caves, the chosen of the Sun God, and follow her home. @[Sacre], open. - bg - table - image - RE: stay strong and bright - Sacre - 04-04-2014
RE: stay strong and bright - Tandavi - 04-06-2014 She does not expect him - she never does, and as such he is always a bright surprise, the crimson-stroked boy who weaves in and out of her life, never far from her thoughts and always near to her heart. If anyone is her friend, she sometimes thinks, it is Sacre... then she recalls that friends are a lacking commodity, and reigns in her enthusiasm to a reasonable glow. Still, it is hard for her to suppress the grin that follows her shock at his voice, the elated surprise that lights up her eyes as she turns to her name, ears lifting high at its sound on his lips. She does not expect him, but is happy he is here, a happiness lined with grey trepidation at the memory of their meeting that day in the Heart. So long ago, yet never resolved, her wrath and his confusion and the explosive small sun. She thinks on it and her bright grin falters, gold ear flicking back as she wonders if he is still mad- she's not, though the idea that her friend (that word, again. What does it mean? Is it even the right one?) should so loather her mother leaves an uneasy coil in the base of her heart. But her hesitancy cannot last in the face of Natraj's joy, and bright curiosity at the small orange fox. Unnoticed before, the girl turns down at her brother's short yip, widening her gaze at the sight of the one-tailed companion who lingers at Sacre's side. She does not remember the boy having a companion, not even when they met in the caves, and the newly born fox breaks through her defenses, ushering out a gentle smile from behind the turbulent gold-slashed mask. "Don't frighten him, Raj," the girl suggests, a rarely-heard laugh in frantic pursuit. The kitsune's tails drop to half-mast, incapable in his current state to completely fall (and perhaps a bit proud of how many he has). He has never met another fox, another like him- he yaps again, a sharp, warm greeting, sniffing at the kit that will soon double his size. Tandavi looks back to the boy, black eyes wide with childlike wonder. "He's beautiful, Sacre!" she murmurs low. "Where- how did you find him? What's his name? Did you save him from the Dark?" The questions pepper the air without a pause; more than she would ever say on a normal day, they bubble out in an alto hum as her eyes, unafraid, search his brilliant, bluebell gaze. She draws back up, braids falling in her eyes, and as she recalls his early question a cloud falls on her once more. She frowns slightly, her flaming fervor growing dim. "We came to find the Sun," she tells him quietly. "To ask his help in saving Lace." Her eyes dart away, then return to him, sudden hope rising in her chest. Will he help her? He is strong, and brave, and if not her friend than certainly Lace's. And he has magic- she can smell it on him, though she knows not what it is, only that it tickles her nose in a black pepper way, and glows a dark maroon. @[Sacre] - bg - table - image - Edit to tag @[Random Event] for quest return. RE: stay strong and bright - Tandavi - 04-22-2014 The girl's quiet discontent cannot be phased by her brother's rising glee; indeed, the small fox is quelled by it, fire doused by the sudden gloom. It sits at the base of her stomach, in her eyes, and waits for some ill guest to stir it into action, a raging swell of fury and fear. It is with a somber nod and a steely eye that she answer's Sacre's questioning concern, the arc of her lips now a grim and unforgiving line. He does not offer to help her, and though she did not expect him to take up knight's mantle, she cannot help the disappointed dim when the promise of aid does not come. She chides herself, eyes closed briefly against the burn of unwanted tears- it is not his fight, not his fault: it is yours. Why should another fight your battles? Natraj chirps questioningly at her feet; she lowers her head to him in attempt to hide the bitter anguish in her eyes, and so it is with surprise that she looks up to find Sacre not far away, long red blade pointed dangerously at her maw. For a moment they are unbearably close, and she can smell his breath and the warmth of his skin- for a moment her sorrow is not only for a lack of brotherhood, but a lack of something she cannot name, a desire to touch the boy - the young man, really - in the soft spot beneath his lip. She raises up abruptly, heat burning unexpected and confused in her copper cheeks, heart pounding irregularly with the shock of something foreign and new. She is grateful for his attention on the orange fox, and steps back a pace while he speaks, eyes passing distractedly over the red flower as her mind flutters anxiously to find escape. She does not enjoy emotion. She is thankful for Natraj, and his endless curiosity and good grace. The kitsune sits at proper attention, oblivious to his sister's new distress, caught up in his fascination with the red flower and the one-tailed fox. At Sacre's declaration of intent the shadow jumps up, yipping his excitement at the prospect of a joint venture to meet the gods. He has yet to meet the Moon, despite Her standing as their mother's patron god; eagerly he turns to the girl, who starts from her thoughts at his inquiring bark. We go up? he asks her, bright- What? she answers, blinking out of her mind. A moment's deliberation, and the fox-child wins. Firechild turns back to her friend(?), head held high and eyes refusing to meet his. "Raj says we should go together," she informs the bloodstained boy. He is not given time to respond before she turns away, long legs striking out against the rocky trail, lava reflecting on the copper coat as she schools her mind and stills her face, wondering glumly if she has further doomed any chance she had of moving Sacre from companion to full-blown friend [ @[Sacre] sorry for the wait, life's been crazy <3 ] - bg - table - image - @[Random Event] Tandavi's four quest requirements: Be burned. Burn someone. Be healed. Heal someone. RE: stay strong and bright - Random Event - 05-04-2014 Though a god did not visit, their presence was obvious. A dancing orb of darkness fighting light, tangling over each other, bounced toward Tandavi, laughing and crying in unison. It was a violation of nature, two, opposite powers in one, and in an instant, it took a leap at her chest. The orb disappeared within her skin and fused with her body. She had earned her quest, but now she would have to deal with the consequences of her choices. The returned flower has disappeared. In thanks, a bloom appears on a broken shrine.
