:: Magic Tournament ::
Welcome, Helovians to the Olympic games open for all magic wielders! In these games, participants will take part in magic duels in a single elimination tournament! This will be a special type of tourney in which there will be no strictly physical attacks, instead all attacks must be made through magic abilities. Each player will be allowed two rounds, per the restriction on magic uses during battle, and will be judged with starting score of 10 points with +/- system based on realism and creativity.
Here are some quick rules to note:
- **NEW** If your character has only one magic and the records indicate that it can be used only once in battle, then you are allowed, in this tournament only, to use the same magic twice!
- Your character cannot be pregnant or a baby to compete!
- Any magic wielder may participate!
- No strictly physical attacks will be allowed!
- You will have two posts each, plus a closing defense.
- Official challenge time restraints apply.
- Judging will be based on creativity and realism.
- Have fun! THIS IS A RULE.
Our decorated champions will win a choice ONE of the following prizes:
Gold
Magic or Magic Upgrade
Special Edition Companion
Silver
Amulet of your choosing
Special item for a character (ex. Voltaic's katana)
Foal Stats with guaranteed Magic
Bronze
Marking
Companion Age Jump (+4 months)
Please note that medalists may have a choice of a prize from their tier or a lower tier.

Wait. I have a question! We're not allowed strictly physical attacks, so Deimos, and many others, has a limit of 1 use of magic. What do they do in the other round if we're not allowed physical attacks? -scratches head- Rank magic?

XD My point is, to continue on this tangent, is that if Deimos uses his magic once, and that is all he's allowed, the next round he would HAVE to use strictly physical attacks. So. -lost-

I think that we will allow more than one use of magic. :) But, I am going to put it to an admin vote first. We should have the answer solid by tonight.

I was just taking it from this portion:

Blu - only magic attacks are allowed. You won't be getting actual points for Attacks/Defenses, just the realism of how you write or use your magic and how you respond to your opponents.
Plus creativity is always nice.
However, some people require physical touch to use their magic, so that is the distinction.

I have a question, too.
I want to enter Rishi, but her magic isn't really 'offensive' at all; I mean, it can certainly be used in battle, but it would have to be supplemented with physical attacks - I think? Unless it like... brain melts. Messes with people. Need all that clarified. Anyway, if she had to respond/attack physically, but still used her magic as a critical part of planning or determining her attacks... would that qualify?

Your magic does not have to cause damage to garner points.
The rubric is not based on attacks or defenses, but creativity and realism of writing.
Be descriptive, make it fun. Your goal is not necessarily to hurt your opponent.
