Not as Planned - Official - 06-09-2012 Smoke the Wild Rose April 18th, 2012 at 3:52pm It had been some time since the Sun God had charged her with the task of speaking to Ra and finding something in common with the Sun's Emissary... and the task had turned out more difficult than she'd anticipated. While she had briefly encountered the strange stallion, it had not been a long enough meeting to satisfy the quest, and since she had hadn't seen hide nor hair of Ra. So she was back at the mountain, the Veins of the Gods, to seek out the Sun God again. Her pace was an easy trot, the path more easily followed than before due to familiarity, and it was not long before Smoke found herself before the trio of shrines once more. Turning toward the Sun's, she lashed her tail restively, body shadowed by the circling dragon above her. "Sun God, I need to speak with you. The quest you set me before I cannot finish, for your Emissary had gone missing as far as I can tell." The God of the Sun April 20th, 2012 at 2:43pm Light begins to envelope the place in which Smoke was standing. Every surface takes on a glimmering sheen, illuminating the small island with the intensity of the bright sun. When pupils adjust slightly to the intense light, a golden figure appears amidst it. The delicate features of the slender god look terse, as though he is irritated with something. "Disappeared?" he scoffs, sounding irritated more than his radiant face gave away. "My apologies, Smoke. I did not intend to send you on an empty quest." Brows furrowed in disappointment of his missing emissary, who reflected badly on his supposed beloved God. The Sun God could recover in the eyes of Smoke. He had faith in his abilities. Replacing the look of disapproval on his face with a glimmering smile, the God switches over to his charming side. "I shall offer you an alternative quest. Should my missing emissary turn up, you may abandon this for your original quest or continue on." "For smoke that will create both healing and dangerous properties, I require a similar substance. Bring me the horn of a unicorn who holds magic, and I will grant you such a wish." Smoke the Wild Rose April 24th, 2012 at 1:54am It was all Smoke could do to not smile her amusement at another dramatic appearance from this Sun God, even as she blinked away the effects of the near blinding glow. Stallions with power and a love of it were generally the same. Flashy and confident, just like this fellow. But again he seemed nice enough, apologizing for the dead-ended quest and offering her another. White-edged ears quirked forward as he elaborated on this new quest, and now she did smile. Bring him the horn of a unicorn that has magic? It sounded easy enough. And she sensed an opportunity to do something not quite as he'd intended her to do, but still fulfilling his wishes and thus her own. "I believe I can do that, sir. Until next time, then?" Dark head was bowed politely even as Zaffre chirruped his agreement, and then the grulla mare turned and walked back down the path. Now to find a qualifying unicorn... The God of the Sun April 30th, 2012 at 10:47am A seemingly gentle smile forms on the lips of the God. She accepted his offer without the slightest hint of hesitation. Judging by her calm, gentle presence, he had a feeling she would not turn toward the obvious violence he had hoped. Perhaps his sister would win out, but that didn't mean Smoke would find her task so easy. The unicorns were a suspicious bunch these days. "I will leave you to it, then, Smoke," he says, another charming smile of beaming light. Within the blink of an eye, the figure disappears, and with it, the traces of glorious light slowly dissipate and stop. The only sign that the Sun God had truly been standing before Smoke was a thin layer of glimmering liquid upon the ground. |
