Enrapture the Masses - Official - 06-09-2012 Enheduanna May 5th, 2012 at 11:36pm Enheduanna, my name, means the birth of all life in the language of the first civilization on Earth. It is the first mound of life bearing dirt to arise from the ground along with the first animal. It encompasses all beauty, all creation, all life, and all beginnings. Now, quite soon in fact, I was to create my own little life within me and start my own "new beginning" and I wanted to give that new life the most wonderful beginning that it could. So, here I had com to ask that of the Gods Three...however, it was the Earth God, most associated with fertility, that I had come to see today. The sun shone upon my back and my beautiful red-gold hide gleamed brilliantly as I sauntered up to the Altars Three and looked about. The gods were not out and about today but I had brought a very promising gift. I had given Narmer some rare jewels in exchange for a small stature of jade which represented the Earth God. Putting it on his altar I step back and speak in my smooth voice, "Watcher of the Earth and fertility of the land, please allow me an audience for I have a request." I move into a deep bow where I shall stay until he appears before me, or it is obvious he is not pleased enough to make an appearance. God of the Earth May 6th, 2012 at 11:14am The island begins to quiver and quake, but not violently, so do no worry Enheduanna. The shivers appeal more to the sense of excitement, a happy little rumble as you call upon its master. From the altar you stand in front of arises a myriad of freshly bloom flowers, growing impossibly faster, their vines covering up the face of the stone. A cloud of earth-born hues forms at the base, and then, almost as suddenly as all of this began happening, it stops, and before you stands a giant. Two large ram horns curl down from the Earth God's forehead, pointing slightly outward from his cheeks. Massive brown feathered wings rest easily upon his great back. The God himself towers above you easily, his bulky bay body looks to stretch to at least twenty hands. One might be intimidated by this large brute, were it not for the charming smile he wears upon his gentle features. His lively green emerald eyes are rimmed with a rough crinkle of wrinkles, making his age impossible to place. The rest of his features are oddly rough yet smooth - as though they were carved with a blunt tool, but carefully smoothed over time. His thick black mane is tipped with green - a mimic of the fresh breath of spring across the land. A chortle raises from the jovial God's chest after he locks eyes with Enheduanna for a moment. "Why so formal, my child?" he asks, his voice great and strong, yet gentle and fatherly. "You can ask of me whatever you wish." Enhduanna May 6th, 2012 at 2:44pm The ground beneath me rumbles, then shakes, and then flowers spurt out from the altar and go everywhere about, forming into a huge mass along with the earth. As soon as it began, the weird trembling stops and before me stands the visage of the most stunning bay stallion I have ever seen, he possesses the most cunning ram's horns, and his hide, in parts, is even tinted with green. Its a glorious color scheme if I did say so myself. I arise from my bow at his kind words. He's so kind and fatherly, even his eyes are bright and happy, that I can't resist giving him a large smile, albeit a mildly nervous one. At his prompting I speak respectively in my smooth voice, "Thank you sir, I have come to ask of you a somewhat odd request. I want my foal to be the most beautiful or handsome they can be and have come to quest for a unique child. One which is not a normal or everyday color, but which is not gaudy like a bright blue or pink(if you catch my meaning), one who will be stunning in elegance and who no horse could deny that they are. So long as he or she stays healthy I am open to nearly any look. So, sir, One Who Looks After Fertility, what must I do to obtain such a child?" I look at him with earnest eyes and a kind look, praying that he'll allow me this. God of the Earth May 10th, 2012 at 11:49am Vanity, but not for a personal sake. Not that this mare particularly needed any help as far as appearances; she was probably already sought after. The God's eyebrow raises in question as she describes her request. A strange one, yes, it definitely is. There is a heartbeat ringing from her womb already, the Earth God can feel it. A loving mother, so young in her adulthood. It warmed his heart to see her filled with such a love for children, but that was not enough to deserve such a brilliant child. "Enheduanna," he says, his voice thick and serious, "what you ask of me is not so easy to create. Beauty to capture the heart of all - in the time it would take the foal to grow, perhaps I could form such a perfect image in my mind." He was the maker of the Earth, and all of its splendid life. He formed the unpredictable and wonderful waves. He made sure that life was reborn anew in all creatures, yet he did not think he could craft such a perfect foal that she requested. Even if he could create such a splendid equine, where would be its humility? Where would be its sense of kindness? The Earth God supposed it would fall upon the shoulders of this girl, this woman, but he could not be certain of it. This is what she needed from him, though, whatever her reason. "I would give you a simple task, but I would ask of a major request after the birth of this child." His emerald eyes, so gentle and lively, took on a look of seriousness not known to his usual nature. "Find me something you find beautiful, and I will create this child. However, the infant must grow into adulthood under my watchful care. The child will live here, and you may visit - you alone. When they reach two years of age, you may collect them to introduce them to the world." Enheduanna May 10th, 2012 at 7:48pm The glorious Earth God replied with a simple request, to find him something beautiful, and that her foal must remain with him until the age of two. She thought upon this matter deeply. She had been planning to raise the foal, to instil within it firm belief systems and the knowledge that it would need to strive in the herdlands...however, the request to keep the child until it was two was one which took her aback. To not be able to remain constantly by her son or daughter's side as they grew, to leave them to the care of the god's, would be difficult for sure. However, Enheduanna was not born from jealous stupidity. Her mother had instilled within her a complete lack of racism and the ability to openly consider all horses and opportunities with equality. The negative aspect of the foal was certainly to be not allowing him or her to be constantly at her side, or to meet the other foals right away. But the positives of allowing the foal to stay were exponential and infinite in manner. The foal would not only be ensured great beauty and handsomeness, but also be given a mentorship from a god which she, admittedly, could not match. Should she choose the difficult path before her she would have a foal whom would surpass all others with intelligence, mentorship, and beauty. She would even be allowed to visit her foal. It was with words which displayed the difficulty of her acceptance that she spoke. "But of course, great god of the earth, I would be honored to have my foal be raised by one such as you!" she bowed deeply to him, despite his asking her to not be as formal, and continued, "I have just the thing in mind for the first part of the quest and should return soon. Thank you, for your generosity." She smiled at him kindly, and then turned about to head away. Enheduanna May 13th, 2012 at 11:42pm I return with a good sized pearl. Upon first glance, it seems to be just white, but when one looks at it with a more careful gaze it is made up of many colors: lavender, pink, gold, and some very small blue. It is perfectly shaped and all the colors mingle together seamlessly in their beauty. I smile at him hopefully. This is the best thing I know for it is inconspicuous as well as varied and beautiful. My next words are kind and hopeful, I'll return for the foaling great god of the earth. And with that I bow my head and take my leave. God of the Earth May 25th, 2012 at 12:46pm The God waits patiently, standing near his shrine, green eyes peering out over the ocean. The waves respond to the gentle touch of his eyes, pushing and pulling with more ferver than before. The dance of water, lapping the growing lava island, glowing of multiple colors. The land that everyone sees with their eyes, he is the lord of it all. The protector of the living, keeping the earth safe and fruitful, and the waters calm and peaceful. His thoughts are interrupted by her approach once more. How long had it been since her last visit? Days, a mere moment? All of the time seemed to flow into one giant expanse to the great God, so it need not matter. Only the living cut the fabric to pieces, in order to make it a more manageable thing, but time had no corners, no edges, no ends. Still, this mare's child would spend two years by his side and not hers, a measure of time no one could deny. The lady drops a pearl for him to see, and the Earth God smiles. The skin around his youthful eyes crinkle, the juxtaposition of such a contrast of age. Raising the pearl in the air, the God makes it glow slightly before it disappears completely, tucked away in his treasure trove of earth's beauty - his creations. "I await your arrival, Enheduanna. Carry your child safely." With those words, the large God disappears, almost as if he had never been standing before the shrine. |
