Unwounded Soldier - Official - 06-09-2012 Ascendancy April 22nd, 2012 at 8:51pm Spindly fingers of igneous sunlight sifted down through the bows of the towering oak to settle upon the hide of the ebony stallion grazing selectively below it. The violet thistles at his feet swayed and bowed in the wind, rustling against each other to create a somewhat calming dissonance. The black stud's cobalt eyes peered out across the landscape when he finally raised his armored face into the air. His thick nape was nearly erect atop his broad shoulders as he mutely observed all that encompassed him. His ears were perked forward, alert, as he chewed the remainder of foliage within his mouth. He was still somewhat weary of this land. He wasn't familiar with its inhabitants, and he thought it to be foolish if he let his guard down when he was unaware of what might linger in the shadows. Ascendancy had ventured to the Thistle Meadow on the whim to farther explore this new and strange land. Helovia had baffled him. Before entering this land, he hadn't believed in magic. The humans had spoken of such things, but he was always spectacle of its existence until he had seen it with his own eyes. Were there others like the mare he had met in the Dragon's Throat, he wondered? Surely there were. Who knew what else this land harbored. Surely time would unveil its secrets to him. He was still intent on getting back to his homeland at some point. For the time being, he was satisfied with remaining here. He found Helovia to be rather intriguing. It had almost begun to grow on him, perhaps just a little. He lowered his convex head to the emerald stalks at his feet once again, eyes looking outward in case another horse decided to arrive here. He was content with solitude, but a bit of company wouldn't bother him, as long as it wasn't hostile. If it was, he was more than capable of protecting himself. |
