I found this really cool thing by total accident, but it's amazing and I have to suggest it to all of the coders on this site if you're having a difficult time with colour palettes.

You can either take the image directly from your computer as a file, or put in an url. It dishes out a series of palettes in including light, dark, and medium, and then a full palette with 42 different colours taken from the image.

There's also this one by Adobe. You just have to click the little camera thing to upload a pic and get options from it. :)
