Run, Hide and Survive. - Arah - 04-01-2015 Turning back from The Basin for a moment Arah's mind flittered over to the golden stag she had met within The Heavenly Fields, he'd been such a gentleman, reminding her why it was important to still go out and see others. With him she didn't have to be the grieving mother, she was just a stranger and he was to her. Though perhaps not anymore, they had made a rather usual pair after all. The weight of Wynter suddenly landed upon her back, the doe looked back at her snowy bonded smiling. It was the griffin who made her wake in the morning and get moving, keep busy and grieve for her daughters. They hadn't been close, infact towards the end she barely knew the two girls she'd grown in her womb...but that didn't change the fact that she had lost both and her children. Someday she may recover fully, although it was more likely that she would remain a little broken forever. Golden orbs studied the arch before her, wondering if they should actually press on. Whatever was about to happen was going to be huge, she firstly had a duty to her family, not the stranger she had met once. One...two...three steps closer to where they had met. What was she doing?! This was completely insane. Honestly, she should just turn now and return to her family. If nothing, Arah was loayal and she would go back to her family. Arah continued staring at the Arch with The Basin flanking her. RE: Run, Hide and Survive. - Tilney - 04-01-2015
This was a strange place. Marble clefts snapped through frost and the hot breath escaping his lungs came in fog. There was more to sense here, there was such a sharpness in the air. tilney And Oh there is more to this life @[Arah] aaaaahhhhh RE: Run, Hide and Survive. - Arah - 04-01-2015 It was as if her train of thought had come to life in front of her…was she hallucinating? After all she had survived was she destined to go insane? No he was really there, looking at her. Relief flooding her, although if it was relief at his well being or the fact that he wasn’t an army…who could say? A smile tugged at her chops as his voice crooned at her. "No, this is home, I am used to this climate." Perhaps such a small thing as herself should't be so comfortable in the frosty landscape, but years up here had thickened her heart. Her golden orbs glanced behind her again, a sense of time dripping away. Anxiety played across her face as she studied him. "Are you okay? What are you doing up here?" Now her eyes flittered to look over his shoulder, checking to make sure nothing was approaching. "It's strange. It's not normal, the winds are speaking." Closing her orbs she listened to the sounds around them, wondering what was so amiss in the universe. After a moment she opens up orbs and looks up at the stag who had rescued her from the creeping depression. "We should return home...It's not safe out here." The following offer may be selfish...but she wanted to make sure Tilney would be safe with her own family. A storm was coming. "Come to The Basin with me. Come and meet my family, you'll be welcome." Moving to his side the fae princess looks upon him happily, what where the chances? Looking towards her home Arah begins to lead the way, she would have to vouch for him... Yet her word meant a lot, she had always been loyal and had not yet given the Lord or Lady reason to distrust her (and hoped that she never would.) ”What say you? Are you coming?” Without really waiting for answer she began to head back into her homeland, desperately hoping to lead Tilney and Wynter back into the safety it offered. tilney And Oh there is more to this life @[Arah] RE: Run, Hide and Survive. - Arah - 04-01-2015 So as they began towards the Basin, Arah often would glance to her side and watch Tilney. The fae princess wondered what tales had been spun at him and just what her believed about her family. True, happiness surged through her as well; it was him that she had been worried for and here he was, alive and well and joining her on the journey home. Navigating the ground as she had done many times before, the doe's footsteps where carefully calculated, the dangerous landscape was not friendly to those who did not know the way. "I must confess I was worried for you." Her hymn floats through the brittle northern air, frosting in front of her ivory face. Eyes now fixed ahead the fae princess felt a little embarrassed admitting this. Would he rebuff her concern for him? After all they were little more than strangers some would say! Yet Arah knew from past experiences when a storm was about to break, she began to lead him through the narrow frozen arch entrance, ready to begin the decent down into Winter's heart. "Something is going on. There are secret guests and whispered meetings held within The Basin." The last time this happened...she didn't want to think about it. Eyes flickering over to Tilney, the doe wondered how much more she should say...perhaps it would be best to change the subject instead. Suddenly a freezing blast of wind hit them, it howled through the arch bringing what felt like the entire force of winter with it. Struggling to remain upright Arah ducked her head and locked her joints refusing to be knocked over the the strength of the wind. Wynter screamed her displeased and the doe let out a small cry of shock at the sheer force they were being hit with. "Tilney..." She wanted to warn him, tell him to brace himself but her words were carried away with the wind. Surely is would die down soon! Gritting her teeth Arah began to wait it out, feeling as the gale force wind lost it's strength. Relief flooded through her veins and she opened her golden orbs probably appearing like an owl as she blinked through the sudden return of light to her life. @[Tilney] RE: Run, Hide and Survive. - Tilney - 04-01-2015
tilney And Oh there is more to this life @[Arah] RE: Run, Hide and Survive. - Arah - 04-01-2015 She told him about the secret meetings, confusion swept across him. Golden orbs studied his face nervously and even though she did not continue the doe wondered how much he had picked up from her short message. Lips formed her name again, glancing towards him the doe waited for his questions to begin picking apart her cryptic message. How much was too much? What should she conceal from him until he was fully accepted into their family? Yet before he could get his questions to her the gale-force wind barrelled it's way down the Frozen Arch. It slammed into her, taking both Arah and Wynter by complete surprise. Had she not been through this before? Guilt wracked through her body...if Tilney got hurt because of the wind it would be her fault! A warning was all she needed to give him, instead she had allowed herself to be distracted. This part of Helovia allowed little room for mistakes! Crying out to him was no good, the wind whipped the words away before they even left her mouth. Slamming against her locked joints Arah did not know how much more she could take. Closing her eyes there was nothing to do but wait it out and try to stand strong but her knees buckled. Then suddenly there was warmth and support. Tilney was right beside her and having locked his neck over hers he gave her the strength to wait out the onslaught, they stood together for who knows how long. Supporting each other, her heart hammering as she waited for her strength to return in full. It seemed to take forever but finally the winds did die and the fae princess opened her eyes to take in a sea of green, his eyes staring back at hers. A sheepish smile crept across her chops as she looked up at him. "Welcome to the north." A husky whisper floats over the wind, her eyes still locked upon his. Taking a small shaky breath she also whispers "thank you for saving me." They seemed to be there for each other at just the right moments. Blinking a few times Arah suddenly realised just how close they still were. Chuckling she gently extracted herself from his embrace but still remains close to his side. "Come on, before we get into more trouble." Laughing she began to continue forwards, until they were safely out of the arch. Below them in all it's glory was Aurora Basin. Grinning she turned to Tilney to watch his expression as he took in the frostbitten homeland. It was a path that she had taken many times before, descending down into The Basin. To those who had not been lead here by a Basin member...well it would be almost impossible for them to find it. Delicate footsteps carried her down the long winding path, until finally they were standing before the sentinels. "There is a lake that never freezes." Normally she would speak of the beautiful night sky, but Tilney would never see it. A sadness filled her at this thought. "Tall mountains offer protection from the harsh, winter winds, we won't be getting blown over down here." Laughing she glances along the wall, nodding to the caves that decorated them. "We make our individuals homes in the caves." Stepping forward between the sentinels, her golden eyes skimmed over her home relief was surging through her veins. Here was where she belonged. Glancing back to her newest companion Arah continued to tell him of The Basin. "We also have a large, natural hot spring which steams from under a rocky shelf..." Perhaps they could visit it later. "Lastly is a strange, glass mirror resting against the wall of a cave, though no reflection can be seen when gazed upon." Walking into The Basin Arah stopped and turned to look back at Tilney, smiling at him proudly. After leaving Tilney behind to check upon a few things in The Basin, the doe was making her way over to the hot springs. Something in the distance caught her eye, Arah turned and stared at the shining object confused. Moving closer to inspect it she was shocked to see beautiful silver armour laying around....it was as if it was waiting for her. Wynter landed beside her and inspected the Armour with the doe, both creatures curious. On top of it was a single golden feather, when Arah pressed her nose to it the entire feather disintegrated into golden dust which blew away in the wind. 'Cabhair dom é a chur ar aghaidh.' Wynter did as Arah bid, helping slip pieces onto her body, pining up her hair and then standing back to observe the final result. It had been cumbersome to get on but it fit perfectly. There was no doubt that the armour had been made for her. Grinning Arah turned to the direction of her cave, planning to stash it away until she needed it. |
