Not Just For Old Times Sake - Aurelia - 06-18-2015 It was with hesitance she came, quiet and hoping to stay well-hidden from most. Aurelia had wanted to avoid this place like the plague, but with a family in the works, she needed a safe place to live. Her mate, Destry, resides in the Dragon's Throat, but Aurelia does not like Gaucho, in any way, shape, or form. She finds herself uncertain if the Throat is truly the best place for a family, thus she has come just to see. Would she be escorted out immediately or would Kahlua (or whoever rules now) listen to what the aureate girl wants to say? No doubt Aurelia had made enemies here, but she has come to apologize. And maybe she's also come to visit her companion's grave, hoping the dull throb of a lost bond will ebb away by nearing her body, despite the fact that she's dead, by the hands of Kahlua. In a sense, Aurelia thought they were equal, in fact, in the back of her mind, she thought Kahlua was at more of a fault. Kahlua could've lost the title of Queen, but she didn't. Aurelia lost something far worst. She lost her only companion and half of her soul. From the moment Shilva's blood stopped running, Aurelia had been spun into a downward spiral of depression, anxiety, and hopelessness. What did Kahlua have? Perhaps now she was only more wary of her need to train, and perhaps she acquired a scar or two. Honestly, if Aurelia could do everything again, the only thing she would change is leaving the Throat as a yearling when she had first arrived. It was only downhill from there, and a season or two ago was rock bottom for. Finally, things were looking up. Standing at the border, she spotted where she had buried Shilva. The grave was only a square foot and snow had covered it, grass had grown, the grave blended seamlessly into the rest of the environment. But Aurelia remembers. Remembers digging that grave, remembers crying until she couldn't anymore. The thought of her companion bring a warm and fuzzy feeling to her gut, but thinking of the day she died is similar having deep wound, getting it healed, then right before it's totally healed, cutting it open, only this time deeper. She shook the thoughts from her mind in attempt to keep her mood high as she thought about how she would go about this. She wasn't really sure how to attract the attention of the leads and no one else, if at all possible. The last thing she wanted right now was a herd full of angry horses with her on their hitlist. If it didn't work out here, Aurelia would go to the Falls and see if they would take her and her ragtag family, though without even a second thought, she knew Destry would hate the idea. Not that long ago, when Aurelia was their prisoner, she had found Destry there, sad and alone. She had talked about her bitch-mom and so much more. For us, there was a connection immediately. And the fact that she left the Falls without batting an eyelash was enough information to know. The Hidden Falls was not an option. What was left for them? Aurelia had tried to visit the Basin before, but she had been challenged and had become a prisoner. She was not the right bloodline for their land, and she would not risk sending a pregnant unipegasus hybrid that could be pregnant with a plain pegasus. She would not have it. ooc: I was hoping she could join the edge meybeh ?? RE: Not Just For Old Times Sake - Elsa - 06-18-2015 E L S A Pottery and ventriloquy, candle making..
The cold was beginning to creep into the fiber of everything. It radiated within her bones, creaking under the weight of stress. Even though she should be comfortable and happy, the fact that her family was gone still ripped a hole into her heart. A piece of her had gone missing with them, and she was never going to get that back. So the pair would have to do with what they had; Edgar had Elsa, and vice versa. The past couple of months had forced them to bond beyond their imagination. What was initially a friendship on the surface, had delved into the realm of unimaginable feelings. Both were no directly influenced by the other, even so much as a simple scratch was translated between the both of them. She wouldn't wish this fate upon her worst enemies, Basin and all. And like glue, they stuck together. Today was an abnormally dreary day. Not in weather per se, but in general atmosphere. The Edge was still plain, and lacking in any extra bodies. Basically, her already poor social skills were beginning to dwindle down the drain with the rest of her life. So, patrolling seemed to be the best thing to do. What better way to make friends than to go around looking for people breaking protocol? There isn't exactly a set protocol, but it was nice to think she had one to follow. They followed around the edge of the glass, glancing at the holes every now and then wondering how this all had happened. Some of the holes were large enough to jump through, while other parts cracked over a couple of feet like lightening. Whatever had caused this, the Edge had a much deeper root than she had originally thought. When Seele had taken her to the Falls, everything there seemed new. The waterfalls were crisp and untouched, the land just as wild and beautiful as any hidden oasis. Gently, she pressed her nose against the side, following the perforations until something else caught her eye. A stranger was standing near the edge of the boarder, wings tucked against her side like she was waiting. Edgar screeched from above, swooping down to land on Elsa's head. Once he was seated, the two approached, Elsa making it a point to not be quiet. "Hello miss. What brings you to the Edge today?" Edgar peeped, flapping his wings to signify his hello. "My name is Elsa, and my companion is Edgar." She offered a light smile, so far so good. As long as she didn't try to rip her to shreds, all would be well. Credits RE: Not Just For Old Times Sake - Aurelia - 06-18-2015 Words flow to Aurelia's ear and eyes follow the sound to the source, finding an ivory mare. A gentle smile is placed in her maw. I don't think she knows me.. The fact was, she was sure Kahlua and Kaj would've told everyone of Aurelia's challenge. The fact that this mare didn't know about it sent hope through her weary bones. She introduces herself as Elsa and then her companion at Edgar. Aurelia's smile morphs into a longing expression, and she secretly wishes she never got a companion, thus she wouldn't feel this void-like emptiness inside of her mind. "I had a companion once. She was known as Shilva." Her voice is tight, as if talking about it is truly a struggle, because it was just that. A struggle. A Helovian life was not an easy life. "I am Aurelia," she offered, voice accentuated by a foreign lilt. Aurelia was a lot of things, but a native to these lands was not one of them. She quietly remembers her reasoning for being here, aureate eyes finding Elsa's own as she continues. "I seek to join these lands. I have a mate, you see, but she resides in the Dragon's Throat, a place I have recently left due to different points of view with Gaucho, the king. I'd like to know that she, my mate, may live with me here." Gaze shifts sideways, momentarily glancing away from Elsa, as if Aurelia is deep in thought. It is clear, however, that what she says is true and that no lies have graced her lips yet. "We're expecting a child, and I just want to know that my ragtag family may reside here," she concludes, gaze once more focused on Elsa as determination to find her and Destry a home. Optimally, the idea is that Aurelia could be accepted now, and in the next days, bring Destry so she may too be accepted. RE: Not Just For Old Times Sake - Alysanne - 06-19-2015

The whole atmosphere changed within a few moments, as the golden mare mused on her companion. Past companion from what Elsa could gather. Her gaze softened then, as Edgar especially felt affect. He leaned forward, and sang a mournful song toward Aurelia. After, he hopped down, wobbling over, and looking up at Aurelia, leaned in to rub his fluffy body against her left leg. It was his way of showing his sorrow, but Elsa was not sure how she would react. But Aurelia moved on, speaking of her reasoning for being here. She had a mate, whom was pregnant. How had two females managed that? Probably the work of the Gods, but she was still intrigued. Why had she come here as opposed to the other places? Why had her mate and her decided to leave Gaucho's leadership? Just then, another unfamiliar girl stepped in. This time, she smelled of the Edge. The fresh, crisp air seemed to be embedded in her like a fiber. This Alysanne however, had a much different view on the situation. Apparently, Aurelia was a rabble rouser. Her ears flickered back to Aurelia, scrutinizing her for a moment before speaking to both Alysanne and Aurelia at the same time. "Well then, let's give her a moment to explain, to me, and you, why she wants to be here." Time changes people, as well as children. Elsa knew that more than anyone. When children are on the horizon, even the worst of the worst become desperate and change in order to ensure their safety. Elsa had failed that, and she wasn't going to escort her out without good reason. However, this time, she spoke specifically to Aurelia. It was both a warning, and a praise wrapped in one. Elsa knew neither of them, so she could play the devil's advocate quite easily. "I would like you to tell me the trouble in which she is talking about. She is here, so please, tell the truth." Her words were blunt, but she did not want to put the golden mare out all together. "I know how children can change you. And I also know Gaucho and the Dragon's Throat quite well. If he has let your mate stay for so long, then I trust her just for that. But Gaucho offers great, and better safety than here at the moment, so why have you chosen not to reside there?" It was another question, and they just kept building. In all reality, maybe they were the same. Elsa had come here because of her desperation, and at the moment, it seemed that was why Aurelia was here too. Credits RE: Not Just For Old Times Sake - Torleik - 06-20-2015 T
O R L E I K Border patrol. He should assign it to others but...what others did they have? Elsa was their forungi. Nyx, an einheri. They desperately needed more fighting bodies, but so few had presented themselves. Tembovu, the massive one, claimed he could fight and Torleik would have to have a word with him soon, a private one, to discuss how that might come to pass, what position he wished to hold. For now, the former general and forever warrior took it upon himself to patrol the edges of his land as best he could even though he sincerely doubted anyone had the energy or the desire to up and take the Edge from their new and feeble grasp so soon. He hoped. A frown passed over his features as he thought of his former home and the fact that he still needed to tell them where he had gone and why. The Bloodskald hadn't meant to just leave but events had transpired quickly and suddenly he'd found himself a konungr. 'You are good king,' Irelyn hooted softly in his mind and he smiled back at her, the feathered hybrid creature sitting perched on his shoulders. 'My kingship has yet to be tested, but I hope to be a good king. Or at least remembered as one when my reign is over.' He felt her beak root into his mane and begin to preen, straightening out any tangles with the help of her talons and reforming his braids. 'You will be good king.' There was a pause, then a curious, 'Where Ophelia? Miss her.' His heart did a small little tremble at the mention of Ophelia and he sighed quietly. 'I am not sure, lítt fugl, but I know she is busy. She has a job to do, like me, and it requires her to be out and seeing things. I miss her, too. We will see her soon.' Continuing onward in his patrol, the Bloodskald found himself approaching a gathering of three, two of whom he recognized and one he did not. Was this an enemy? Was a fight brewing? Torleik was aware he was inserting himself into the middle of an event and so he attempted to do so calmly and without assumption, even though the mare he recognized as Alysanne - two little ones one not breathing neither one his - seemed quite tense. "Hail," rumbled the dual-horned demon, coming to a halt some feet away. "Elsa, Alysanne - what have I come upon? Do you seek refuge in our home?" he asked of the mare he did not know, or did not remember knowing if he had ever met her before now. Surrounded by pegasi females. How very...amusing. Women and wings. He almost snorted. @[Aurelia] @[Elsa] @[Alysanne] RE: Not Just For Old Times Sake - Aurelia - 06-20-2015

Elsa listened intently to what Aurelia had to say. From the outside looking in, Elsa saw no problem with what she had done; and why she had chosen to reside in the Edge over the Throat (should she be allowed). So why was Alysanne so wary of her joining? Her blue eyes glanced over the paint quickly, before looking back to Aurelia. If the challenge was the only rabble rousing that had been done, the line in Elsa's mind had not been crossed. Helovia was not the only realm to have hierarchy systems, and even as a young girl Elsa had witnessed many kingdoms change leaders. The whole essence of leadership was survival of the fittest, and those who can overcome the kings and queens should be put in their stead. Loyalties of course, were always a problem. Some would support the former, while others would support the new, but most of the time, the former would not return unless they regained strength and could defeat their rival. It was just how the world ticked. Torleik arrived then, coming in to ask his own set of questions. If he really wanted to get a full recap, they'd be there for a while, so Elsa was relieved when she gave a spark notes version of what had transpired. She glanced his way, but then again swung her attention towards Alysanne. There was a tinge of hesitance in her voice, but other than that, her mind seemed to have changed. "I believe she will do fine. There was nothing wrong to me about her actions, but of course I was not here before." Elsa shrugged, and continued, "I think she should be given a chance, if worse comes to worse, things can be undone." Perhaps that was a bit morbid, but if Aurelia did cause unnecessary trouble, they could be asked to leave or removed by other methods. Part of Elsa wanted to offer to watch over them for a while, if they were still wary, partly because the idea of having new babies (hers or not) running around brought a small bit of happiness back into her heart. O R L E I K Despite being considered the military leader, the Bloodskald was quite good at listening before acting or speaking. Usually. Memories of Mauja touching Phi's flank flashed to mind and the unquenchable rage that had ignited within. How he'd acted then had been nearly beyond his control, possessed by his emotions and driven as he was. Now involved neither his polkadotted queen nor his white-and-crimson one, so his emotions were rather placid. Aurelia's story threw up a few concerns, as did Alysanne's continual dislike of this mare. From what he knew of the painted pegasi mare, she was exceedingly kind and to earn her ire, Torleik assumed, meant it was well-deserved. Challenged Kahlua? Trying to be fair, the Bloodskald reminded himself that he'd challenged Ulrik, his own cousin, nearly the moment he'd stepped foot in the Basin because his ultimate goal was to dethrone Deimos. That had never come to fruition (plotting and politics were not his forte), but he'd wholly believed in his cause. Perhaps Aurelia had reason back then to act similarly. However, thinking of Kahlua as such a horrible leader was difficult. Certainly she was brash and dense - yelling at him seasons ago, and now becoming Mauja's mount - but dangerous and detrimental? Hm. Elsa seemed to be a voice of reason, and the king considered her point of view as well. After all, if it became violent, Elsa would need to be one that dealt with removing the offending party. And perhaps she was right; perhaps there was nothing wrong with Aurelia's prior actions. Torleik would argue there had been nothing wrong with his in the Basin. Taking a breath and feeling wholly outnumbered by the amount of ovaries surrounding him, he straightened, drew up to his full height, and affixed the apparently returning mare with a cool, heavy gaze, his eyes like a serene yet undeniably dangerous ice floe. "That Alysanne does not like you concerns me," he relayed honestly. "That Elsa sees no problem forcibly removing you should you become a problem is something you should consider. Your reputation does you little good here, it seems." The Bloodskald narrowed his eyes slightly, considering his options. "Like Elsa, I was not here before to witness your actions. I cannot judge whether you were justified in challenging for lead then, but I will make it exceedingly clear to you here, now, that if you chose to challenge me you would not walk away from that whole," Torleik relayed frostily. Turning towards Alysanne, glancing at Elsa, he ended gazing between them. "I will not keep you out, but I allow your entrance with all the suspicion of Alysanne and the confidence in our ability purge any threats that Elsa possesses. Welcome. But see to it you do not make me regret my decision. I would hate for your family to have to pay for your sins," he relayed to the female, his expression softening ever so slightly at the mention of family. @[Aurelia] @[Alysanne] @[Elsa] OOC: Welp sorry I'm being consumed by life. :( |
