Set in Motion (Welcoming!) - Rexanna - 06-22-2015
A long journey would have to be an understatement. The two creatures had been walking for quite some time now, although the company with this stag was quite pleasant. He was harsh in comparison to her, complexion wise. She wasn’t quite sure how he was when it came to his personality deep down, but who knows. Looks could be quite deceiving if she knew anything about it. Perhaps he was all dark and evil on the outside, but on the inside could’ve been quite the innocent kid. Although judging by his scars and such, he had more than likely seen quite a few events occur in his lifetime, wherever it was where he came from. It would be quite the interesting topic if she ever got to find out. However, upon approaching the Frozen Arches, she paused in her step. Turning her cream dipped crown to face her traveler. “Watch your step. Slipping into those spikes of ice wouldn’t be fun at all.” She smiled gently to him. After stopping to explain, the mare trudged up the little path slightly a bit ahead to show him the way. Stepping over the border to the Basin, she came into the spot she resided in when she was brought her by Thranduil, a Lord now. Her eyes scanned the area. The mute coloring from the overcast sky shining down with a dull kind of glow. Turning her head to him again, she smiled. “Welcome to the Basin, Nox. I am a Phantom of the Sneak rank here.” Her gentle smile seemed almost contradictive due to the fact she’s been so kind and sweet, yet had this rank where she was quite devious. She wondered how he would take it, if it would make the dark creature smile or almost feel at home. Rexanna nodded to the Sentinels, large machines of equines, standing watch over the Basin. Taking a moment to call out, seeing who may be around and secretly hoping that Deimos would be the one to show. Oh how great of a show that would be, Nox and Deimos; both creatures looked and almost acted so similar. However, Nox had more of an… approachable aura about him. Rex figured even though she was a herd mate to Deimos, that she would rather the company of someone else. Turning her attention to the traveler with her, her eyes watched him gently before taking in a deep breath. “These, my friend, are the Sentinels. They protect us from trespassers.” She concluded, pleased with herself to have been able to bring a second body here. @[Mortuus Nox] Welcome! :D Once you reply, we’ll have a lead reply here and get you accepted c: Now look at this web I wove.

@[Rexanna] RE: Set in Motion (Welcoming!) - Deimos - 06-25-2015 They were thriving. It was a respite, a repose, a strange, dignified sanctuary from the unwinding days of nothingness – where one swiveled their eyes to find silent, unsung decadence, the rapture and reverie of decay, or the indistinct measures of silence and diminished grandeur. Despite the constant onslaught of turbulence, of storms, of everything muddled, martyred, and murky in between, the Basin was suddenly left with voices at every corner, with citizens flanking the caves, with guards patrolling the borders, with the Sentinels’ gleaming eyes and the dignity of triumph laced to their muscles, their movements, their motions. The Reaper, usually bent, traced, and drawn into sullen, brooding indignation, was suddenly permitted to peer upon his citizens, his brethren, his kin, with a matter of pride. They were the ones who’d done this. They, with their scabbards and swords and shields had extinguished doubts, had assuaged scathing wounds, had mended and molded their pursuits, their dreams, their ambitions into reality, and it was a reverential moment to witness the transformation take place. He watched from the shadows and he stared from the Stygian caves, he sketched and outlined every nuance and notion his people made, and the nefarious bits of his heart were torn and reassembled at their willingness, at their strength, at their courage and perseverance. Tirelessly, mercilessly, unrelenting and persistent, they wound their valor, their prowess, their cravings and yearnings into distortions of dominion, supremacy, and authority. They deserved the recognition, the finesse, the taste and relish of power, of distinction; domination at their grasp, invoked, incensed, and incandescent - and as one more wandered into the borders, led by his troops, the monster aimed to prove his gratitude. He still maneuvered as a piece of the devil, as an emblem of Lucifer, as a banner of Mephistopheles, rancorous persecution, licentious predilection, a sovereign threatening to scorch, to scour, to invoke disorder and chaos at the reign of his treachery. But the penetrating, piercing weight of his glare was softened by the edges of esteem, dignity, and regard for those who traversed his grounds; the coldness wasn’t as harsh, the chilling detachment wasn’t as apathetic, aloof, or indifferent. Audacious, bold, and iniquitous, he maintained his nonchalant, impassive outlook, he remained coated and veiled and dappled in enigmatic enmity, a varnish of the intimidating, a loathing, scalding brute, but the menace, the vehemence, was quiet, soothed, appeased by all of his odious heathens scuttling amongst the corridors. The Lord’s response to Rexanna’s summoning wasn’t out of disappointment, nuisances, or a voracious appetite to devour into raptorial prowess, but to see, to wonder, to ponder, over the makings of one more into their fold. So the beast, the barbarian, the sovereign, was swift in his proceedings, embarking closer and closer to the borders, catching the golden Phantom’s glint, casting her specific words and phrases as he appeared into their small throng. “Rexanna; congratulations on your efforts.” He followed the procedure with a short, crisp, blunt nod of his skull, granting her the acknowledgment of her ventures to the Threshold, on bringing new blood into an old venue – then tilted his rancorous gaze towards the sable stranger, studying, examining, forming opinions before transgressions. Would he be another noteworthy figure to add into their prospering empire, or merely another forgotten face within the next season? The pernicious, poisonous efforts slid across his tongue and pooled along his mouth, conforming to the guile of many welcomes and assemblies. “Deimos, Lord of the Basin. Who are you?” RE: Set in Motion (Welcoming!) - Rexanna - 06-27-2015
Rexanna watched the wind dance around the two of them gently before his accented words hit her ears. She couldn’t help but to emit a gentle chime of a smile to him. ”This is our home. Believe it or not, it’s quite like the place I was born in.” And she left it at that. She wasn’t going to delve into her history. She wasn’t going to ramble to a stranger about her past and everything involved within it. As far as she was concerned, it didn’t effect anyone here. The mare planned on keeping it that way. Besides, the only being that knew about her history was Tembovu, and even then, the stag didn’t know the whole truth. Perhaps one day he would earn the truth. However, perhaps not. It depended on the entirety of the situation if Rexanna would dare speak of it. Especially knowing how Tembovu might respond to such an event. Heavy crowned head swung to catch glimpse of a darkened phantom approaching the two. The ghostlike appearance of the creature approaching her only resulted in a slight pang of entertainment that beat within her chest. She couldn’t have asked for a more perfect Lord to come and speak with the beast she had recruited with her. As he approached, she almost felt outnumbered. Such dark devilish beings that stood around her with her standing out like a sore thumb. She dipped her crown deeply in a hello to her Lord. The very one who had accepted her into his herd. Now she was returning the favor. Bringing in more life into the Basin, bringing in more people to fill out the ranks and make the herd quite the force to be reckoned with. If there were reckoning to do, that is. His grotesque voice reached her ears and her heart jittered with excitement. She was entirely pleased with herself, she just smiled to him and uttered a soft thank you before arching her neck lightly to angle her face toward Nox. Curious as to this creature’s expression when also being faced with a creature resembling death itself. Ears flickered back toward Deimos as he introduced himself, her eyes eagerly watching Nox with curiosity with how this very creature she just met would react to quite the being face to face with the one and only Deimos. @[Mortuus Nox] @[Deimos] Sorry it took so long, got super busy! RE: Set in Motion (Welcoming!) - Deimos - 06-29-2015 More knives, more rapiers, more blades; he wanted them all, lined and segmented and twisted into their empire’s reign, where the strength, where the persistence, where the unyielding schemes and the brutal power slid and sunk into their enduring veins. Snakes in the garden, snakes in the grass, and beasts in the shadows, in the shade, or out in the sun – relishing each and every rapture, iniquity, and reverie the intoxicating, unholy vines had to offer. But as he stared upon their newest brute, all stone, all impassivity, he couldn’t find a sanction, a section, a sector, of what the stag wanted, craved, or yearned for. Instead, they seemed to be of mirror images – beyond mere appearances – because while their builds, their hues, their horns were not of the same, their features remained in the chiseled factions of nothingness. Not a segment slid past the Reaper’s sculpted physique, and not a single thought seemed to wander along Nox’s infernal wake; and the Lord’s eyes narrowed, almost content, with the notion of another manifested like him. Would secrets slip past the stallion’s lips? Would yearnings and cravings abolish his tidings? Would he pledge loyalty, oaths, assurances, to a realm, and hold them, or eventually let those fester, ruin, become unsettled in the rush of other agonies? His thoughts muddled and contorted into various, sinuous, unwinding distortions, puzzling over the benefit of one more to the Basin’s allegiance who wouldn’t unleash every ounce of what he saw, what he witnessed, what he heard, to the rest of the world – if the beast could be trusted. What did he crave, anyway, amongst their wintry palace, their inhospitable regime, their promise of damnation and destruction? Deimos always knew what he wanted, but what the purpose behind Nox’s stare, behind his constructed reticence, beyond his parallel, carnivore discordance? Did he seek bedlam? Did he bestow havoc? Did he thrust ferocity, resolution, and raptorial compositions through unforgiving disaster? Was he as twisted, as maligned, as brutal as the rest of their shepherds, their lambs, and their wolves? The monster examined, but even his irreverence couldn’t trace over another’s heinous, reticent mask (and for half a moment, he thought to look at Rexanna’s golden face and smile; because he was suddenly, instantly amused at her findings, at her ability to presume this newcomer’s abhorrence and customs would match theirs), and ultimately, he presided in the quarters of his stoic, controlled recherché, and provided the query. “And what do you seek?” Why does one wander to the north, amongst the chilling, statuesque depravity, into a world tested time and time again, into a harsh, resentful, rancorous land? And why, what, do you hide? RE: Set in Motion (Welcoming!) - Rexanna - 07-01-2015
Watching the two ghostlike beasts beside her, she stayed silent. She waited patiently as she heard Nox speak, ears flittering here and there to catch each little glaze of accent that found its way on each word emitted. She caught his gaze as he glanced to her. The change in his voice had not surprised her; she almost had been expecting it for a while. A creature so battle worn and deathly looking surely couldn’t keep a pleasant exchange of words the entire time. She even couldn’t, and she appeared just as innocent as anything. It was all part of the charade, though. The mask the mare carried with such high regards hardly got broken through unless it were to prove her worth. Deimos knew of this darker side of her; the part of her that would make her quite the sneak. She only hoped she could fit in to the role and show her leaders that she was worth it. However, perhaps she was spending too much time on the proving part. Orbs danced to Deimos, curiously watching the blank slate of his face as he took in the words that Nox had said. His words also filled the air and it carried a thought of what Rexanna had been wondering as well. Had he been curious enough to find a place of refuge, or would it be part of some big plan that she would be at the receiving end of it? She didn’t know for sure. All she could hope was that this creature beside her would be able to find a place and work for her home instead of tearing it apart from the inside. @[Mortuus Nox] Now look at this web I wove.

RE: Set in Motion (Welcoming!) - Deimos - 07-14-2015 Belligerent and brutal, he listened to the frayed, reclusive speech of a destined monster, and bid his time in muddling over the irreverence, the corruption, and the benefits of another morality extinguished. To his end, Mortuus Nox couldn’t know of all the trouble, all the trials, all the tribulations they sought day in and day out, the corruption they unraveled, the lavished, varnish of destruction and bloodshed they clawed and rasped against, for, towards – how intricately they designed, danced, and deliberated around pretenses, around holes, around catacombs, finding the delicate balance between audacity, repose, and anarchy. They found sinuous blends of serpentine motives and actions, maneuvered in ruins, gardens, citadels, and tombs, riddling and executing, annihilating and devouring. The icy walls were the last places to keep a soul away from misfortunes, maladies, and turmoil, because their world, their empire, their sovereign reveled in it, revered it, centered their policies into eldritch flags and flown titan whims and bestial mayhem into the brink of their motions, their movements; every heinous thought wrapped and guarded into antagonistic prowess, into pernicious exteriors. Their history was written in blood, anguish, perseverance, and defiance. Perhaps the newcomer realized this and simply didn’t care: wanted the treachery, yearned for the abhorrence, the depravity, the ominous, mighty strides and the unrelenting prowess. Maybe this was the tempest he longed for, intending to scald the rest of the world in his path (and wasn’t that what they all craved, deep in their minds, all irreverence, all corruption, all dragging their scythes through an enemy’s chest, behemoths, monsters, and mutineers?). Nox could be another sculpture, another creature, another cretin, added to their combinations of healers and spies, warriors and engineers, a pariah, a ghost, a wraith, on the horizon, blending, brewing, contorting, and distorting the ways of the realms, one more slot the frozen empire declared fit, strong, and enduring. He cast his searing gaze upon the stranger, the one who hid, but still extended fragments of his thirst, of his greed, of his presaged, augured sentiments – and delved no deeper. The Lord permitted secrets, silent, quiet, unsung loathing, piercing, puncturing immoralities, and waited for the licentious plumes to strike (the Reaper caught the tendrils of the other’s eerie grin and narrowed his eyes in the briefest of speculations) – so instead of indulging any further into the reticent void of Nox, his deep vocals extended into an offering. “Perhaps you would like to join Rexanna as a fellow Phantom?” [SORRY FOR THE RIDICULOUSLY LONG WAIT. ;_; @[Rexanna] @[Mortuus Nox] RE: Set in Motion (Welcoming!) - Rexanna - 07-27-2015
Silence overtook the mare as she listened to the stags speak to one another. Everything that Nox had said seemed like it was right for him. Blending in, finding information from others with secrecy and blasting it all in front of a parade to show everyone what it was truly like. Or using it as blackmail to easily get favors done to keep one from blabbing their mouths. It was an interesting way to go about things and as he spoke of it Rexanna could only think of her own job and area in the herd. The Phantom. Although it was almost like Deimos took the words out of her mouth. Heavy horned head swiveled to the dark King only to nod gently with a smile placed delicately on her maw. Swiveling her head back toward the newcomer, she allowed her teal eyes to curiously align on the stag wondering what it was he would answer with. Would he like to be a thief in the end? Or did he plan to pursue more gruesome work of a warrior? She couldn’t help but think that he would fit well in either spot. It truly was up to him in the end, but she hoped he could find a place that suited his needs and the things he was good at as opposed to just settling with something, which is what Rexanna thought she could do before she ended up here. Rex figured she could do anything anybody asked of her, however Thranduil and Deimos could tell from how she spoke with Deimos on her very own welcoming, that they were able to stick her in a sector that she could thrive in; and for that, she was greatful. @[Mortuus Nox] Now look at this web I wove.

RE: Set in Motion (Welcoming!) - Deimos - 07-30-2015 Deimos’ curiosity was piqued at the remnants of speech spilling along the icy framework and the decadent halls, tipping his cranium ever so slightly in acknowledgment of his inquiry. The other stallion made sense – he’d rather wander and find his way then twist and conform to a position he wasn’t truly tasked for. It was an astute, smart calculation: why ramble into an art lacking talent for its strokes? Deimos would not assemble himself into healing or engineering; he didn’t possess any of the aptitude, flair, or want of the ranks. While many in Nox’s position would find themselves grasping and coveting for a rank, for a challenge, for a conjecture and ripple in the cogs, become part of the frozen world and embark further into its raw clarity and grinding prowess, the stallion lingered in exploration and discovery. The behemoth shifted his muscles in a decadent shrug, mulling over the lack of rushing, of plunging, headfirst into their chilling world: meaning the black was not a rash, emboldened creature, but deliberate, perhaps conniving, maybe crafty, foxy, and cunning, taking his time to forge his path, to settle his roots, to turn over the foundations of the world. The Reaper was intrigued, and notched his confirming nod in a singular movement, bestowing the rites of acceptance and comprehension. “Understood.” The devil’s eyes roamed towards Rexanna once more, arching his brow (and had he been a more of the joking, laughing type, she could have ascertained it as a teasing motion), before turning his frame into the shadows and ice, maneuvering slowly away, away, away, allowing the newcomer to make his mark upon their chiseled earth. “When you have decided, come find me.” He bestowed one more nod towards the gilded mare for her efforts, then possessed the world again, twisting back into the hollowed hills and the glacial expanse, bestial damnation heralded from the spin of his strides.
