remember me - Elsa - 12-20-2015 Elsa I've cried, and you'd think I'd be better for it, but the sadness just sleeps, and it stays in my spine the rest of my life.
@Serenity but others can feel free to join ^_^ RE: remember me - Serenity - 12-21-2015 Of your galaxy * As Elsa began to show the way toward whatever land the Edge was composed of, the partly-golden girl picked up after her and her companion. She would have to trust blindly, but already she felt a sense of kinship with the blue-accented doll; she couldn't figure how someone she met moments ago would offer her the world. She didn't have much of the past to hold onto, but the new memories being forged were surly things that wouldn't escape her grasp again. Finely threaded, cauterized deep, she would forever remember the kindness shown to her when she had nothing to her name. She tried to keep in mind the terrain they passed over, all the dips and rises, a rather easy feat as it had nothing to compete with. Out of the thick thicket of trees and into wider, emptier spaces--fields of flowers adorning soft colors that made her hold her wings a little less tighly to her body. The chill in the air increased but it washed over her and gracefully let her be. Mind wandered back to what Elsa had said earlier, the names of the herds repeating themselves again and again. Dragon's Throat, Hidden Falls, World's Edge, Aurora Basin. The matter of gods also posed a problem to her, but she figured the time would come when it would all be explained; it didn't seem an imposing issue that couldn't wait. When the trees gathered around them once more, and Elsa ceased her movements, Serenity followed suit and let golden eyes trail over the surrounding area as she was spoken to. They had reached it at last. She smiled at the offer posed to her, but shook her head slightly in annoyance at herself. "I do not know how to handle this problem. I have never lost memories before, save for things typically forgotten..." And then the two names she recognized by then reappeared, and she stored the bits of information away to pull out if she found no help in the Edge. "Honestly, I am simply so grateful to you and Edgar. I do not know what I would have done had you not assisted me so readily." She bowed her head slightly in thanks, knowing it most likely wasn't needed, before continuing. "Are there any doctors about? Perhaps someone who specializes in healing? They are the only hope I seem to have." She had made it so far already, the idea of giving up wasn't something she could afford. @Tembovu / @Alune / @Elsa tagging in case either/both of you wanted to join in now; if not, i'm good with waiting for individual threads too <33 RE: remember me - Tembovu - 12-21-2015
Stuck in his mind, turning over thoughts and mulling over ideas in that massive skull, he mindlessly wove his massive body through the gnarled trees. The Edge was growing beautiful in Orangemoon, trees beginning to shed brightly colored leaves— so different from the plains. The grasslands dried out, quietly fading to tans and browns in wait of the wet season. Here, the foliage leapt into fiery colors, one last vibrant outburst of life before succumbing to the change of the seasons and sinking to earth. It was marvelous, truly. But, as time so often blinds us to naturally marvelous things, it was lost on the Elephant. Thoughts of wayward meetings and mischievous goddesses filled his mind. Thoughts of frolicking foals and his own, deplorable choices which left him miserably isolated. Thoughts of eyes, hard sapphires, wounded ceruleans, warm silvers… And, suddenly, he was staring into those very same hardened sapphire eyes— except, they weren’t trained on him in crazed anger. The eyes of the Queen were aimed at another, winged mare, partly golden and entirely gifted with stars on her remarkable coat. “Elsa,” he dipped his massive, loosely spiraled horn in greeting to his fellow monarch. His eyes searched for hers, seeking to hold her gaze a moment longer than necessary “Hello there, woman of stars. I am Tembovu, fellow leader with Elsa of the Edge” a lopsided smile crossed his broad, masked face, “Did she recruit you to join us?” His low voice rumbled in query. He had been to lost in the trees and in his thoughts to hear their previous conversation. @Serenity @Elsa RE: remember me - Elsa - 01-02-2016 Elsa I've cried, and you'd think I'd be better for it, but the sadness just sleeps, and it stays in my spine the rest of my life.
No ideas? Well that was unfortunate. It seemed they had fallen back to square one- and not in a good way. How was one supposed to bring memories back? The veins came to mind... but she had overstayed her welcome there long ago. If anyone should take her, Elsa was the least qualified. But at least she seemed to think the healers would help. She highly doubted it would bring back memories, but maybe if trauma was involved, some of it would return. Some pieces were better than none. RE: remember me - Serenity - 01-09-2016 Of your galaxy * If only things were simple for her, but truth was they never had been before. Growing up a slave, losing her family, escaping only to find herself caught in the arms of those who dealt fate out like playing cards. Everything was so new that wasn't supposed to be, lands and faces and alludes to the so-called gods that resided among them. It vexed her, frustration lingering in her words because she couldn't find anything else about her familiar. She wished an answer would find her, would present itself and then she could untangle herself from Elsa's own problems. But of course things never quite worked out that way; it seemed things were only achievable if they were sought after relentlessly. If they were fought for. But all she knew how to do was run. She followed Elsa's gaze and turned tear-drop ears to welcome the new addition, a male easily twice her own bulk. He was impressive, if not a bit imposing, and she could only look on at his spiral horn and will herself not to move further away as he approached. She was still uneasy around the unicorn kind, though given that Elsa had not seem alarmed by his presence she could perhaps settle herself down as well. Wings ruffled slightly upon her slim back, nose dipping in silent greeting as he addressed her by the novelty of her coat. It took all her willpower to not step back and wonder if he might be after her starry hide as all the others had been, but then she thought it might be rude to assume such things from everyone; surely if he had such intentions he would not have been so genuine in character. Gratefully she allowed her white partner to speak for her while she composed herself, and the giant's words finally sunk in. Leaders? Elsa ruled the Edge? Golden eyes stared inconspicuously at her, and red would have painted her cheeks hot if a blush were possible. She had been alongside a queen all along and wasn't the wiser. She had put such an important figure through her trivial adventure, surely she could be spending her time doing something much more important. Serenity looked back between the two leaders, her heart swelling with Elsa's offer. "I am... looking for a healer, I believe. Actually, I am not even certain if that is what I require, but mayhaps it is a place to start?" Then once more in response to Elsa, "When I have regained what I can for myself, I will come back to thank you properly for all that you have done... That I swear." Brilliant smile parting navy lips, the shining light in a world of darkness. @Elsa RE: remember me - Tembovu - 01-12-2016
He was graced with a smile from his Queen— a rarity, it seemed, since it was small and quickly fled as she introduced the starlit mare in question. But it was still a smile, something that warmed the cool face of the Icebound; a small victory to the Elephant. Blue eyes drift back to the darker winged mare, a small frown creasing the skin around his eyes as the newcomer ruffled her wings in unease. He studied her a moment longer, before snapping his ears forward as Elsa explained the woman’s hardship. Lost her memories? What would that be like… would he enjoy that? To not remember Mara and Faxr, their burned corpses, or the years he had dedicated to avenge them? He blinked once, caught in these confounding thoughts— no. He needed his memories as a reminder, they were the polarity to his moral compass. A stalwart prompting of why justice is such a valuable thing to both him, and those he governed— even if they did not realize it. Once lost, it would be sorely missed; but, while present, its crucial role was oft taken for granted. He came back to the equines around him, eyes focusing on Serenity— what a lovely name. Calming, soothing, just as the twinkling stars on her coat. They sought a healer to help her? He looked to both winged mares as he spoke, “The pleasure is mine, Serenity," he dipped his horn slightly,"Thought our Moon Doctors may heal physical wounds, I do not believe they can cure wounds of the mind. I would be happy to find Alysanne, Evangeline, or Callista— but I think your time may be better spent walking the Edge and trying to find familiar things.” The suggestion was said more as a statement, though his eyes remained on the starlit one, waiting to hear if she would still require one of their Doctors. The thought of Deimos, in all his dark glory, and the Basin popped into his mind. Or more-so, the thought of their patron god rose to the forefront— from the many seasons ago when Mauja had first welcomed him to this herd. How long ago that was… The Basin’s patron was the Time God, and this woman had lost her past, part of her ‘time.’ He shifted, still uneasy to direct anyone towards the Basin, despite the @Serenity @Elsa sorry for the wait! RE: remember me - Serenity - 01-16-2016 Of your galaxy * She blew a soft breath through nostrils and tried to keep in mind everything she had learned so far and all the new information being presented to her. She appreciated the kindness Tembovu was showing her, pleased that he seemed to have no interest in keeping her within his grasp or sending her off to another to work for. Perhaps it was only because they were in the presence of Elsa, but those thoughts would be put away to ponder upon later for the words began again. Her hope rose and fell as sea tides with each new piece of Helovia's puzzle, for if there were only doctors who could heal physical ailments then she was surely doomed to never remember what she lost. He presented names to her--names she might not get correct later--but none familiar so she tucked them away and continued listening. Of course the mention of the Basin instantly sent her wanting to crawl the other way with what Elsa had warned her of, but her interest was more than piqued at the prospect of the Time God. If anyone could help her, surely it would be him just given his title? Her whitened partner was quick to decline and shoo away that offer as expected, but how desperate was Serenity truly to get back her memories? Enough to slip away and ignore all that she had been told of such a herd? Surly not with the knowledge of how those kind treated those like her, what little memories she had left resurfacing to remind her that she spent her younger years a slave to them. She would spend her life in death before ever going back to that. So instead she focused on the words of the Sun God--so many gods she hadn't known of--and perhaps that would have to be her next endeavor, wherever that would take her. Certainly she couldn't take Elsa up on her offer to continuing to guide her, for she had used up so much of her time already and how hard would finding a land of light be? "I thank you with much gratitude, Elsa, and to you, Tembovu." She looked at each in turn and dipped her head with the words. "Perhaps the king is correct in suggesting the best path is taking one alone from here; who knows what I might discover?" And though it would pain her to leave the blue-touched's side, she made a vow to go back to her soon. "I shall make way to the Throat and look for those you've mentioned if we cross ways. This 'Gaucho' might lend more insight into his god if he cannot help me himself. Should I run into trouble along the way I will take you up on keeping me safe here." A lingering smile trailed her voice as she gazed upon Elsa; she knew that whatever the course of her journey she would could not forget all given to her. @Elsa my next reply can be the end of the thread <33 RE: remember me - Tembovu - 01-17-2016
Elsa rebuked his suggestion of the Basin with a surprisingly firm and demanding statement, “risk another gaining an unnecessary injury.” Gaze flared with curiosity as he silently nodded in solidarity with his Queen. Though he was uncertain as to how deep his own mistrust of the Basin ran (certainly it was not as deep as Elsa’s, he was discovering), he did not wish to appear divided before a stranger visiting their herd. So he did not argue or contradict the icy woman, instead letting her and Serenity speak. Something softened in his face as she continued, telling Serenity that she did not need thanks, only that she wished her memories to return. He studied Elsa for a heartbeat longer than necessary as the sincerity of her words stirred him, before nodding once and returning his attention to Serenity, agreeing again as Elsa spoke of the Throat. Though he, personally, knew little of the fiery place, he often felt as though his great, warm-loving body would be most at home there. He found there was little left to say, as Elsa offered her both the Edge’s protection and shelter. A small, amused grin found its way onto his cream muzzle, as his fellow monarch stole any potential words and spoke them as a diplomat. The many sides of Elsa were slowly being revealed to him the more he was around the Icebound— and she was continually surprising him. His small grin grew as she referenced his size, “Elsa flatters me, I would be lost without her tenacious guidance,” he winked playfully as his voice rumbled with amusement. His attentions shifted to Serenity as she spoke, and he shifted his weight as she referred to him as ‘king.’ Eventually he might come to like others referencing him solely by his title, but he was doubtful. He simply nodded at the end of her words, “I am glad Elsa could assist you. Do not hesitate to revisit the Edge. I wish you the best in recovering your memories, Serenity,” a hint of sadness tinged the smile as he began to fade away into the mist. @Elsa @Serenity I think he's gone, but he can stay if you all had anything else to say to him! :D |
