Arrival [welcoming] - Caneo - 01-18-2016
Table and Picture by Nicole (Niki) ooc| @Dasmine & anyone who can accept her officially. It's been a long time since I've done this hopefully I'm doing it right! RE: Arrival [welcoming] - Dasmine - 01-18-2016 Most of the walk was silent, filled with noises of nature around them. Sure a question may have been asked here and there by the mare, but only few came to mind, all of which weren't that important. The mare usually didn't like to be alone with her thoughts, but this time she just didn't have much to think. Finally her mind was giving her a brake and she only though about the future ahead of her, not the past behind her. The further she got away from that threshold the better. As they drew near the home of Caneo, the stallion who seemed someone stoic and hard headed, Dasmin found herself smelling something. A smell she had never experienced, she did not question it, though she wished she had. The salt sent, the sound of cawing birds coming into range, all of it was too beautiful. Almost like a mystical land out of an echoed story though the ages. The view was amazing. As they drew near the cliff Dasmine found herself mouth agape at its beauty. Her eyes sparked with wonder as she looked over the cliff at the powerful water below. The water seemed to stretch out forever as she watched on. She couldn't believe her eyes. Though her legs ached from walking she didn't care, the view was too amazing. As the stallion motioned towards the island out in the vast water she felt so excited. She had never seen such an expansion of water, such a large land mass, how did anyone other than a pegasus get out there. Once the stallion asked her what she thought, she looked up at him, her eyes as wide as a foal who had tried sugar cane for the first time. "It's beautiful, I have never seen anything like it!" RE: Arrival [welcoming] - Megaera - 01-21-2016 The Sunspear heard the call from across the water and, though it was not a voice she recognized, she moved to answer it quickly. Great wings carried her over the stretch of water that guarded her home and in time two figures on the Helovian bank came into view. One, the paler of the two, sparked the roundabout recognition in her brain, from the updates and descriptions that came trickling to her when new faces were added the her ranks. The new spy. Megaera would have liked to be more acquainted with the newer members of her herd, but between her normal duties and the twins, her time was spare at best. the little warhawk landed near the unfamiliar pair and she moved toward them at military clip, gracefully tucking her dark-tipped wings as she moved. “Hail!” She called out, perfectly amiable until given a reason not to be. She nodded first to the stallion, coming to a halt before the pair. “You are Caneo, yes? I am Megaera, Sultana of the Throat. I am sorry I have not had the chance to welcome you before now, but I’ve been told you’ve joined our Sleuth’s ranks.” She tried to stop the barest hint of a grimace. A warrior though blood and breeding, Meg wasn’t overly fond of those who stuck to the secrets and the shadows, but as a leader she supposed they were a necessary part of protecting the herd. She moved her focus to the mare, black eyes finding the violet ones and sending a welcoming smile. “Good day to you as well. What brings you to our shores?” The mare had seemed to be marveling at the view and Meg could not blame her. In Megaera’s estimation, the Throat was the most beautiful place on the planet and the mild Orangemoon had brought it back to life quite remarkably after the hot summer. She was justly proud of the land she could call her own, and ready to be quite agreeable to others who admired it. "." ooc:: Welcome to the Throat! Though her kept on the never ending blue, the mare couldn't help but see the flying creature slowly getting closer to them. First she assumed it was a bird of some sort, but due to its off color to the seagulls and the fact that it seemed to be getting closer that idea was quickly shot down. Soon her full attention was on the brown flying creature until she realized it was a Pegasus. Was that who Caneo was calling? All doubt soon faded when they landed. Dasmine had never heard the term Sultana before. Was it a term for a higher up of some sort or was it a term for someone who went to fetch the people who couldn't fly to the Island. Through her many travels in her past life she had never seen a Sultana. Seeing as to how a unicorn like Caneo was honored to meet them maybe they where a higher up. She looked the Pegasus mare up and down, taking note of her attitude. She seemed friendly, and Dasmine liked friendly. Their chocolate brown coat was well kept, compared to hers, and though she had a few scars she still was beautiful. Her face brightened as the attention was brought to her. Dasmine spoke in a happy tone. "Hello, my name is Dasmine. I traveled to Helovia from a Nomadic group. Caneo here told me I could possibly find a home among you!" Her years of trading with herds outside of Helovia had taught her well. She spoke with a certain grace, she was happy to talk to someone new. "I have stories to tell if that may be useful, all I really want to do though is make others happy!" Continued the Equine. She couldn't fight, heal, or craft, so she would do what she could by making others happy. RE: Arrival [welcoming] - Megaera - 01-24-2016 Caneo responded in a similar manner to which he had been addressed, and Meg could hardly blame him for it. Perhaps she should have made a better effort to hide her disdain for his profession but they didn’t need to be bosom friends in order to work alongside each other. A warrior (or a leader) and a spy were categorically different creatures but they were both essential cogs in the Dragon’s Throat machine. The mare was another matter, and Meg could not help but smile at the effervescent attitude that shone out of the newcomer. She spoke with a certain easy friendliness that Meg would have liked to possess on more than one occasion; it reminded her a bit of her daughter’s gentle courtesy and she couldn’t help but smile back. “Well met, Dasmine! Of course you would be a welcome addition to the Dragon’s Throat and I am pleased that Caneo has brought you to us.” Megaera gave a nod to the stallion in thanks for his efforts before continuing for Dasmine. “Our Diviner, Maran and the apostles are tasked with keeping the histories, perhaps if you’d like I could introduce you. I’m sure my little Asavvi will hardly let you rest until she’s heard all your tales twice.” She paused long enough to glance back across the water. “We’re an island nation, but the God of the Sun’s has created a bridge so that our flightless brethren may come and go as the wish.” The bay stretched out the feathers of her left wing and gestured with a scared nose at the glint of gold from a small key tucked between the secondaries. “I can escort you across not but we’ll be sure to get the crafters to get you your own as soon as they’re able.” [ooc: Chime, Would you like Dasmine to be just a Citizen for now?] Image Credits RE: Arrival [welcoming] - Caneo - 01-25-2016
