Famous Last Words [Patrol] - Ezital - 03-14-2016 RE: Famous Last Words [Patrol] - Thranduil - 03-14-2016 the Laurelin
A groan echos through the mists of the morning. The terror of the labyrinth awakening.
Only he wasn’t exactly shape to be a terror today. The golden head shakes off the night’s drowsiness, eyes shut away in the effort to rise. In this quiet corner of the snow covered world the golden has settled in well. The labyrinthine offered an ideal hiding place. The rolling fog and dark shadows healing the golden soul as it reconnected with itself. That was not proving too hard either though. After escaping the mountains his will rebelled happily in its release. No duties, no guilt. Nothing to hold him back. Except that was, the actual cost of his escape. As the golden rose cuts, healing but still fresh lined his body. Some of the deeper fiercer ones looked unwell still. Yet time could at least heal these physical inflictions. Sleep could help with the rest. For several days the golden had done nothing but sleep and rest. Haldir, who rarely left the golden’s side in these times, still stood by worried. The winter was not a great time for this change. The golden was growing thinner. Any suggestion by the deer though was shrugged off. There were things however, neither sleep nor time could solve. He may have been able to leave the mountains behind, but there was leaving the rosen ghost which haunted his thoughts and the iron gates before his soul. Especially given their parting the gold was set unease by any thought of the girl. So he did his best to think of her as little as possible. To store her back into some dark corner. To sweep away her footsteps. Only, even with his heightened mind, it was doing little good. Though he would not admit it, even to himself, he was beginning to find that the rosen ghost and the chains she placed upon him were not made of paper as the others had been. At last though it seemed the golden was waking up from this hibernation of sorts. Today as he rose, stretching out his back and neck, he felt a tremble of curiosity flutter in him. With a return of steady sleep he becoming more mischievous. Today it had woken him from his slumber in a good humor. Crowned head looked about his new dwelling in the maze with bored eyes. The rest had been nice, but now it was time to get going. Now it was time to find something to play with. To stretch out his hand and manipulate. He calls up Haldir, and prepares to leave, yet then…The golden looks over his poor coat, ragged and torn. His face twists in slight disgust, so he reached down for an old favorite. A wolf hide cloak. With a great familiarity he pulls it on, smiling as he does. It was like a fine glove to complete his perfect tailored look. With a devil of a grin, the golden moves off. For a while he finds no one. Being left to his own thoughts they began to wonder onto less desired topics (rosen topics). That classic smirk was turning grim until at last heard the heavy breath of another. Sharp golden hark lean forward, and his mood turns humored again. Following the sounds and scents he at last walked around the last wall of shrubs to find his prey at last. Haldir, watched with his usual uneasy silence, as these moments he did not enjoy. The dark stag hung back. The gold, stepping up, yet silent as always, wastes no time on manners, his eagerness getting the better of him. “Who are you?” His Spanish head tucked, but tilted, revealing his mischievous smirk. “And why do you linger?” Oh he was beginning to feel his old self again. The other wouldn’t be bored any longer, and soon would have every reason to admit his unease. Perhaps though it was meant to be that the golden was discovered by a patrol (though he knew not the other's purpose), for it was about time the world knew a real terror lived within the walls of the maze. OOC:: I could resist! He's so full of himself atm, and even though I have a million posts to do I just couldn't keep away! lol "Talk." thranduil and Haldir @Ezital RE: Famous Last Words [Patrol] - Ezital - 03-14-2016 RE: Famous Last Words [Patrol] - Thranduil - 04-03-2016 the Laurelin It was Haldir who commented first. He’s a smart one. It is received with only humor in the gold. The wicked smile lining his lips never ceased. Yes, that creature was rather smart to pick up his cautiousness and arm himself with the vague fog. Of course, the golden recognized he was giving the other every reason to do so. He wasn’t exactly hiding malicious intent here was he? But why should he! How long had he been kept tame, having to wait to hear names and titles before assuming? And though perhaps that was most days good practice, today he’d rather throw it out the window. Baby, bathwater, and all. A warrior of the Hidden Falls? The golden then regretted for a moment finding himself so busy of late as to not journey there in his disguised form. It might have been fun to throw back the knowledge he knew to one sworn to protect it. The gold realized with a twinge of frustration (though not shown before the other), that he didn’t even know if Kaj and the giant Archibald still governed. No word had reached him of a change, but then he had been woefully uncaring of political changes lately. Still, he was a little far to be standing upon that title as his defense. Waiting for someone? Now the golden head tilts back the other way, and harks lean in close. Now that’s very interesting, and his face showed the sparked curiosity. Such a turn of phrase could mean so much. A date? A patrol? A friend? A secret? A lie? “A waiting warrior, fascinating.” The golden though was wary within. If another came the situation could be harder to control. Such fun might blow back up against him. Yet if another did not…. Haldir go, search The deer though did not want a part in this. No. Though he was glad to see the gold joyful and feeling himself, he did not enjoy making the other feel cornered. The dark stag knew that perhaps there wasn’t much threat to it, the golden really didn’t seek any harm, but it felt wrong to corner another just for sport. Of course that didn’t go over well. One hark slid back, the only change of face in the gold. Haldir! It brewed with anger through the bond, threatening. The dark creature flinched, but given that tone, and his detest of remaining here anyway, he went. The shadow slipped off behind the gold and into the shrubs and fog. The golden hark slides forward again, and the tasseled tail swings easily about his fetlocks. His mood settling in once more to the smug maleficence. He had to hand it to the lad, like a knight before a dragon, there wasn’t much information to be gleamed from the boy’s answers. Still the steam rolled from the smirking face. If this young warrior was waiting for some ah-ha or fear, he wouldn’t gleam much new from the gold. “There are better places for picnics, soldier.” He advances, first once step, then another, drifting as he does to the side, but eyes never leaving the other. “There are monsters in those hedges.” His grin grows, the dark humor he finds overcoming his mask. “And I’m afraid they love to crash a good picnic.” Oh yes, they did indeed. No word came from Haldir, yet the gold kept some energy pulsing through the bond, listening. Stopping to stand tall again, feeling his height over the other bolstering his vanity. “Only they’re usually hungry for more than tiny sandwiches and tea.” His smile grows tame, bleeding through with sarcasm. The golden was most certainly not a cannibal, nor in this state was he looking to test his strength….but Mr. Waiting Warrior didn’t know that. And the golden didn’t plan on telling him either. OOC:: "Talk." thranduil and Haldir @Ezital RE: Famous Last Words [Patrol] - Ezital - 04-18-2016 RE: Famous Last Words [Patrol] - Thranduil - 05-10-2016 the Laurelin Even if the other was overly cautious, he was still proving to be a fool. The dry reply of the gold did damp his buoyant mood, perhaps because it was slightly true. Had he really been locked away so long that even the thought of messing with something as little and worthless as a plain soldier should bring him such joy? There were bigger fish in this land to follow and fry. Yet this one had walked right into his territory had it not? This one had become trapped in his web? And the spider does not discriminate between the tiniest fruit fly, and the largest of moths. “You mustn’t realize what position you’re in.” Comes a haunty reply, the first of those revealing some inner darkness behind his lighter moods. Yet the moments move on, and he sees the bald face look to woods behinds as Haldir slipped through the brush. Perhaps he would have reprimanded the deer to take more caution, yet the look on the other’s face caused the gold’s humor to return. His smile grew again, and that head tilted once more, chuckling. “Oh no.” Of course what good humor there was then quickly was ruined by the fellow’s continued foolish ignorance. Tasseled tail flicks at his hocks as his weight shifted onto his haunches. Of course….the word lonely struck a rather sour note…So the gold snorted it off. “I wasn’t offering protection, fool.” The light air humor once more had gone a bit flat. The last sentence spit out from the other with a stomp of assurance, and a brow raised up high. Fine, if the creature wouldn’t go along with this all like a good little mouse he would dumb down the insults and threats. So the gold leans over slightly to look at the colt more fully, and with the hiss of disapproval speaks up “Bit defensive about your sandwiches are you?” The traces of a smile were still on his lips, but now there was something more sinister there. Haldir, feeling these changes, was indeed glad he’d gone on. “Honestly boy, to be a warrior you need at least brains or brawn. Quiet a shame you have neither.” His tasseled tail twacked against his side. Perhaps this would get Mr. Warrior up and going. It was a bit of a lie after all. The colt, though young seemed plenty enough strong. Yet the gold was looking for anything to get a row from the man that went a little more in the direction the gold intended. Surely he hadn’t lost that much skill. OOC:: So sorry for your wait dear! "Talk." thranduil and Haldir @Ezital RE: Famous Last Words [Patrol] - Ezital - 05-12-2016 |
