Kissing the Lipless [acceptance] - Zyanya - 07-15-2016 Zyanya felt awfully out of place leading the way. Instead, standing in front of the leggy, fabulous stallion made her want to follow him, which would be quite silly, as he had no way of finding the herdland in the North. She attempted to remain focused on keeping pace with his much larger self, but found her delicate short legs unable to match his. Poor Skyfall must have had a horrible time slowly jaunting after her, even with all her efforts to keep an acceptable pace.
Free of the forest and Rikyn, her heart settled into a nice easy pace. Being alone with another made her feel much more at ease, as she could feel more comfortable directing attention and thoughts toward one person's demands or desires, versus trying to please a crowd. "The last stretch of the journey is a little more rough," her voice warns, turning her head back to catch a glimmer of opal eyes. "So watch your step." Taking her own advice, her eyes drift toward the path they followed, which seemed to wind up into the mountains out of of sight. The snowcapped peaks towered above, the white a show of defiance in the face of Tallsun. However, the air itself did not hold a bitter chill. The Steppe even thawed enough to reveal arctic grasses and small shrubbery hidden upon her arrival a season ago. She also knew within the embrace of the mountain lay a field of green grass and a crisp, chilled lake that never seemed to freeze. Weaving between several paths available to them, Zyanya makes the trip as quick as possible. The trip from the Threshold was not particularly long, though it would be a lie to call it a short walk. The last leg took longer than the rest, it felt, for the anticipation of returning home grew in her chest and felt like weights on her small cerulean hooves. Soon enough, the tips of a glimmering, metal horn show up in the distance, the giant Sentinels ever standing watch over the entrance to the Basin. Looking over her shoulder as they come into full view of the giants, she smiles. "I named the one on the left Milo," she says, her voice shy but delighted. "I am not sure if they have souls, but I think he seems happier with a name." Skyfall would be the first to know of her secret naming of the Sentinels, but she hoped it would soothe any fears the monstrous shapes stirred in his heart. After all, she had been terrified of them at first. Coming to stand next to a large, metal leg, Zya raises her crown to let out a loud and graceful call, hoping to draw the attention of someone qualified to accept this newcomer into the Basin. The stroll wasn't all that bad, considering. The breezes that slipped off of the backs of the mountains were a welcome respite from the smothering humidity of the Threshold. With a slight grin gracing his dark lips the horned stallion sashayed his way toward the Aurora Basin with the lovely Zyanya as his guide. From time to time he would turn his attention to her cream-and-starlight form, adoration and contentedness dripping from his pores. What a gift, she was! What an absolute godsend. Her presence filled Skyfall with the urge to craft and create and weave, to bless the universe with silks and jewels in a way that he had thought was lost to him. With a sigh, the lithe gent forced his mind away from the precipice upon which it balanced; the memories below a blackened trench of dread and forlorn tears. He had been only a few months into his life, into that first spring, when he had discovered his abilities. Prancing alongside his mother, prattling away about the colors, the patterns, the textures, the liveliness and beauty of it all, when a shaft of sunlight through leaves had caught his young eye. Slim as a twig, the bloody-coated child had pranced toward the light, his heart singing hymns and praises to the simple majesty of such a sight. As he had neared, Skyfall had felt a slight twinge in his gut, as if a line was attached to his belly and was pulling him ever closer to that golden stream of light. He had tilted his head and paused only briefly before reaching out that soft muzzle to touch the sunlight. As soon as he had made contact, the pillar of golden glow had began to unravel. Skyfall had caught the sunlight-made-solid on his horns, spinning and pivoting until the cloth was draped loosely about him, snipped to an end by whatever force within him that had begun the whole thing. He had laughed, then, a melodic sound brought on by innocent joy and new discovery... Snapping back into the present, guided by the voice of his Doll, Skyfall gave his head a slight shake, banishing the memories back to the saddened pit where they belonged. Turning his attention to the delicate mare by his side, the stallion's lips folded into an indulgent smile as he took in their surroundings, though his eyes always found their way back to Zyanya. With a nod, the crowned rogue took Zyanya's advice, opal eyes trained upon the terrain with a focus that belied his seemingly inattentive attitude. It wasn't long before the pair of horned equines came upon quite the sight - two towering and rusted contraptions built to the likeness of equines. Brows raising, Skyfall felt admiration pool within his chest at the magnificent dedication and craftsmanship that must have brought the two sentinels into existence. Swiveling an ear to Zya Doll - as he had taken to calling her in his mind - as she spoke, Skyfall nodded sagely. "Of course," Came his reply, accepting easily the prospect of Milo and his brother's happiness, "A lot of love went into creating them, only makes sense that they would be happy to have love given to them still. Especially in the form of a name. You're very sweet to do that." Flicking his cream colored tail, Sky nodded a greeting toward each of the towering machines, "Hello, there, I'm Skyfall. Lovely to meet your big, cold, metal acquaintances." Moving so that he stood beside his lovely Zya Doll, the newest Aurora Basin hopeful waited patiently, hoping that he'd be allowed to join the lives of those hidden in the frigid valley. @Zyanya @Hotaru @Deimos RE: Kissing the Lipless [acceptance] - Hotaru - 07-22-2016
@Zyanya @Skyfall I don't need to be tagged, would you two like to be? RE: Kissing the Lipless [acceptance] - Zyanya - 07-22-2016 Much to her surprise, Skyfall does not chide her for the vision and mindset of a child - naming the soulless contraptions of metal. Instead, he greets her confession with quite a serious acceptance. Her eyes soften, melted from the support offered by one she met not long ago. In her chest, her heart flutters against her ribs, filling her face with a joyous warmth as she smiles quietly.
"Do you create things?" she wonders aimlessly, looking out over the pathway she expected company to travel from. He spoke so fervently of the art of creating the Sentinels, something in her soul wanted to believe him an artist. "You seem like you would." After all, Skyfall carried himself with grace beyond her own, beauty beyond imagination, and confidence beyond her reach. To hold within him the ability to create humbling and incredible things would not surprise her in the slightest. The tall stallion falls in beside her, and Zyanya finds herself feeling reassured by his presence. Her journeys thus far in Helovia had been rewarded with new faces - both good and sour. Still, none of them remained at her side. For the first time in her short life, she spent most of her days alone, which left her mind much space to pick at her shortcomings. "No matter what happens," her voice wavers for a moment, her eyes trailing to the ground before seeking out the sculpted face of Skyfall. "...we can be friends, right?" A shy smile flickers from her face just as quickly as it appears, revealing more about her nervous heart than the quaking words. She wanted someone to call a friend. From the paths of the mountains arrives a familiar form, one painted with rose tones and shining in the summer sun. Zyanya is greeted home by the kinder of the two leaders, much to her relief. While the mare had no personal reason to be afraid of the Reaper, the shadowed stallion gave her an eerie feeling when she saw him for the first time at the herd meeting. Hotaru, on the other hand, was like a glimmering gem. "Thank you," she replies politely, glancing over at the chestnut face of Skyfall. "I met Skyfall in the Threshold, and he was delighted to hear about the Aurora Basin." Taking a breath, gathering her courage, she finds the face of the Lady. "If it is alright with you, can he stay?" Like gleaming eyes of a child, her own lavender ones shine bright with hope. Accept the lost puppy into our home, please, mom. If not for the melodic voice of Zya Doll, the lithe stallion would have gone absolutely mad from waiting. Luckily for him, though, the porcelain creature at his side was a soothing balm to his frayed nerves and proved to be a glimmering light to combat his encroaching doubts. Thankful grin blossoming over darkened lips, Skyfall lowered his head to the cerulean lass' level before responding, opal eyes shining with pride, "I used to, sweet thing. Once upon a time, I could weave light into cloth and grow beautiful gems from plants." There was a melancholy note in his voice now, a faint echo of the gaping hole in his chest where magic used to be, "But my passage into Helovia... I'm not sure what happened. I lost my magic somewhere along the way." His head hung lower, the weight of the admission pressing down upon his shoulders and spine in a such a way that felt as if he might shatter. Still, even with the mountain of grief that dug so painfully into his heart, Skyfall smiled as his Zya Doll asked after friendship. With a breathy laugh and the light bump of his side against her own, the horned gent cocked a brow and nodded, "Why, Zya dear, we'd stay friends beyond the grave. You think I'd let some mountains and weird location break us up?" He would have continued, would have pledged his heart and soul to the preservation of their newly found friendship, but another had approached. Straightening, the blood colored rogue gave a careful nod, his face a mask of polite interest as he quickly assessed the woman that stood before them. Pink as a spring dawn and horned just as Zya Doll, the woman carried herself with a sense of aplomb that seemed to be rather common in Helovia. Bejeweled skull cocking daintily to the side, Skyfall offered a smile as the woman introduced herself, nodding along as Zya Doll answered for them both. "Yes, exactly as she said," his honeyed voice slid through the toasty air with ease, tail flicking along as if in agreement, "I would be honored to make a home amongst you and your people, Lady. I know a thing or two about creating things and growing plants, I could be of service some way or another." @Zyanya @Skyfall Eris you can post in rank updates with whatever Sky would like to be! Either Medic/Scourge or Trader/Apprentice! RE: Kissing the Lipless [acceptance] - Zyanya - 08-30-2016 The heart lodged in the back of her throat eases with Skyfall's candid response, quashing her fears in his confidence gaze. His side grazes hers gently, filling it with a strange warmth, one she was unaccostomed to in this new world. A smile flickers like a nervous flame across her features, looking at him from the corner of her eyes with a timid hope. Her first friend, someone to hold very near and dear to her fragile heart. The more she learned of Skyfall, the more she felt in awe of his confidence, his skill, and his large heart. Taking in the small, insignificant girl as a lifelong friend with little more than a brief conversation was unheard of in her former life, but he accepted her without the slightest hesitation.
Eased into a sense of comfort, the girl wondered what she had done to deserve the good graces of such a strong individual. Her thoughts were shattered, of course, by the arrival of a much more powerful and delightful mare - Hotaru. The nervousness that had been quelled by Skyfall's forward acceptance of her friendship returned; the girl could not dream of being separated from her friend, regardless of his promise before. She wanted him near to her in this home, so filled with magic and wonderment. The transparency of her face revealed her emotions easily to the observer, never being one to lie or hide her feelings easily. The pause after Skyfall's own introduction, along with the introduction of his skillset, felt like an eternity. The mare speaks, filling the are with sweet music like a spring breeze. The quaking of Zyanya's heart slows listening to Hotaru, wondering just how she came to be Lady of the Basin beside to the grim reaper, Deimos. "Of course!" the excitement bubbling up with ease after Hotaru suggests she show him around, her smile carrying the light of millions of stars. "I would be happy to." The ache of her limbs from the journey from the Threshold forgotten, the spry attitude of a filly fueling her spirit now. "Thank you, Lady Hotaru," the mare says, shortly after the official acceptance of Skyfall into the herd. Her voice is one that is quieter than the chirpy responses just moments before, as if awed by the grace and power of the mare she spoke to. The joy cannot be subdued for long, as a smile flashes brilliantly toward Skyfall, happy to have a friend to share her home with. It had been a long while since anyone called Zyanya their friend.
