Afterparty - Thranduil - 11-25-2016 Thranduil
It felt so….normal. A shiver ran down his spine, chilling ever bone and nerve. So normal, and so wrong. Snorting with pinned ears he turns to leave the high cliff. Above the lights of the heavens still danced across the sky. He always did enjoy those, missed them was a stretch, but enjoyed, yes. Especially from that perch. His olden one, just before his cave up above the healer’s, where the wind whipped, but where he could look out across all the vale. Nothing hidden from his gaze, nothing lost on the wind. Especially tonight it was a rather good spot to choose. The festival down below was winding down in the early morning hours. Many had either tucked back into their caves or slipped through the Arch. Only a few still reveled beneath the lights above. The gold still choose not to show his face though. Tucked under the black hood which cloaked him into invisibility he stalked about the outskirts of the gathering. He could see Haldir still having a grand time playing about with companions remaining, and he spoke not to the deer. No, he wasn’t here to crash the party….well at least crash their party. Back to the walls of caverns he slipped. He was here for someone quite unique. Hotaru. The golden had known better than to approach her during the party, before everyone. At least, yet anyway. He knew what tonight was about. It was a show, a play. A moment of high festivity to show that the Basin was still in upper classes, that it wasn’t some backwooded frozen wasteland, but instead a thriving center of family, warmth, and good tidings. Before he even saw her the golden knew how she would appear, or like to appear….it would be the same as he would. Head high, smile broad, and a stretch of effortless grace and ease flowing. That was how she would want to feel this night (or so he assumed). And in truth, he did steal a glance or two as he stalked around the old vale to see if her play such a fine role. It was built for her afterall. The golden perhaps slunk more to the shadows, but the rosen had always worn her crown so well. Even he had to admit (though never to her). But for all that, for that image she’d have created, it wasn’t what he wanted, nor one he particularly wanted to play at the moment. That wasn’t the mare he had come to see. So his cloak had stayed tucked around him most of the night. Only when he came to the mouth of the cave he sought, a deep perfume of perfection identifying it, did he let the hood fall back as he stepped inside. He wanted to see the woman after her grand show. After her moment in the spotlight, when she stepped down and let her shoulders drop with relaxation. The corner of his lips curls as he steps over a blue cloak upon the stone, and memories of the time before rise vividly. Perhaps that grandiose style had been what he sought once. But tonight…he wanted her all to himself. The black cloak slipped back into the satchel, and he waited for the rosen, the Valkyrie, the Lady of the North. Hotaru. His love. OOC :: Though it is open, I prefer just Hotaru, unless you want to awkward third wheel XD "Speech" The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the waterspout. A noise catches his ear, and the gold rises from his day dreaming to look toward the moonlit opening. He was still unsure of meeting anyone else, but it turned out he had no reason to fear such things. He knew Hotaru well enough. She steps into sight, alone, and as he had guessed, letting her mask and regal dress from the night slip from her figure. His earth eyes go from their sharp quick gaze to something softer and though a small whisper prompts him to speak, to call, he’s caught in this private moment. This hidden glimpse at her. It was selfish, and utter sin, but he couldn’t break the spell. But when it does break…he’s not too unhappy. Her voice cracks and then laugher rolls out carefree, lifting the world placed weariness from her features. He had done that. The gold. And in response his own lips rise to a smile and a low rumble follows. “Ello love.” He moves forward to meet her as she chides him. Harks twist back but its playful, light. There’s no restriction, no placed limits, doors or walls, yet it is also simple, and honest in its expression. So much had happened in their last meetings. “Well sweeping you off your hooves was the idea….” Her nose touches his and he does not even flinch from the rare contact. Her scent fills his lungs as she moves closer, stepping up to him, he leans towards her. In the cold of the night, her heat alone was alluring. The gold’s eyes close as he lets himself be pinned in. What did he care, he was right where he wanted to be, and had, for the moment, no intention of leaving. Her hot breath rolls over him as she nips at his spine. A shiver runs down it involuntarily as he head tucks into to grace the soft curves of her own rosen body. His eyes shut away, and his mind beginning to drift off. It was only when her voice sounds, thankfully a whisper (anything else would have shattered the little world they were in), that he raises his head in more alertness, and rests it upon her back, letting it drape over her smaller frame. “From afar…” It hesitates, whispers, suggests. She should know the real reason he came was never to engage in idle chit chat with the common folk. Though one thought does tag his mind, pull at his thoughts. Though he didn’t prefer her as such…. “You seemed to enjoy it.” She was meant to be in that spotlight. The Laurelin could look the part, act it out quite well, but he was never meant to rule. (Don’t dare ask him to admit it though). His role was ever something more powerful, someone without the complete attention of the world. Someone who could slip through. Some might clearly disagree, but his short stint as a Lord had been a fair assessment. He could also in turn be wrong of the rosen lady, but the thought never crossed his mind. To distract from the thoughts piling up quickly he tucks his head, pulling her closer. Getting back to why he was really here. OOC :: <3 "Speech" The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the waterspout.
