Take Me As I Am [Open, Ktu/Phi] - Lakota - 10-28-2012 Cold violet eyes swept over the snow covered land like a hawk might survey potential prey. The ground was blanketed heavily with the clusters of stubborn flakes, and though the trees that surrounded her were nearly endless, their bare carcasses offered no reprieve from the bitter sting of the freezing particles. They settled along her flanks, whitened the snowy color along her back for a few moments before the heat from her bodice melted it away into the substance it had birthed from. Soot painted legs regained their momentum as her careful watch of the forest completed itself. Pushing through the drifts of snow with a powerful, undaunted elegance. Lakota was not new to this stage in life at all. Multiple times she had crossed into lands such as these, in every season, with different ways to discover. Multiple times she would join a herd or a nomadic pack, always thrown out for one reason or another. Her last had placed within her a certain bitterness towards one word. Peace. Her Queen was beautiful. Born a beautiful cream with pumpkin eyes. Delicate as a butterfly. Lakota often marveled at how she arose to such a rank, and her only answer was popularity and a wish for that word- peace. Lakota would never again speak her name. The dame had wanted harmony with every creature, but would not allow her followers to fight for it. Lakota had simmered with rage. Her Queen believed it would come if they extended a welcome no matter who, bad or good. Believed she could heal their rotten souls. When Lakota, fiercely loyal and a fighter, showed how she felt on this matter, her Queen was horrified by her crassness. The battle that ensued after the femme insulted her in a grievous fashion was not pleasant. In the end Lakota was relatively unharmed, yet her whitened coat was stained red as she wailed for her soldiers to chase the devil of a mare away. But Lakota had been right. All the times she had tried to warn her, went unheeded. The herd was pillaged and destroyed weeks after the sooty roan was banished. Lakota knew there would always be a rotten soul. A terrible foal born of heavenly parents. Nothing could stop that. Peace had to be fought for. Blood had to spill and cover the earth so that others may see their sacrifice. Of course it didn't help that Lakota often fought with her herd members. She was not a pleasant mare with flowers and smiles. She was a warrior and often was not treated so because of her big eyes and pretty looks. Bringing up her past was a sure fire way to get you on her bad list. Stallions thought she was easy and were often quickly and violently corrected. It seemed by now that nobody wanted her. But Lakota found herself always searching nonetheless. He wanted a strong leader to follow. Soldiers that were actually soldiers. Maturity and an actual cause. Something to fight for. If they respected her, she was not much trouble. Even as her Queen signed her death away by refusing to fight, Lakota had stood by her. Trying to warn her until her banishment. Lakota needed to find a spark in her leader. Something worth putting her life on the line for. A snort escaped her darkened muzzle, tossing her head so that blackened Kane spilled over her blue shoulder. The memories and thoughts were pushed away. Now was not the time. Now, she must find an inhabitant of this land. Start a new life for the hundredth time since she had been born. Crossing yet another threshold. Perhaps this time would be the last. OOC: Her personality is revealed a little but should become more obvious with social interaction. May not be as great of a post, it was wiped and I had to try and rewrite it. RE: Take Me As I Am [Open, Ktu/Phi] - Rafe - 10-28-2012

ooc:// for the directions i posted it as if i were entering the threshold and traveling toward the meadow, so that's why it'll be a little different from the map. RE: Take Me As I Am [Open, Ktu/Phi] - Lakota - 10-28-2012 By the time the sky had darkened a few noticeable shades, blackened mane had been slicked and pressed down against the turning colors of her slender neck. No longer was the blue on her body noticeable, more the color of the ocean at dusk. The soot color had grown almost like a manifestation from her legs towards her back, as if seeking to overtake the white that lay like a blanket over her spine. The wet and cold did not bother her much. She had no use for appearances. It wasn't something she would wish for, fairer weather was sought more than this bleak colorless landscape, but she also found it reassuring. The lack of color made the approach of any creature rather obvious against its backdrop of white. How much time had passed she had no care for. Why should she when only one goal was left in her mind? As she had suspected she was right. Lakota's sharp violet eyes missed nothing. A warrior, and a seasoned one at that, she was not one to miss much. The stallion, as obvious by his stature, approached from her right. Obsidian hooves stilled, causing no further ruination of the purity of the snow as she awaited him. This was, of course, what she had been waiting for. His gait was measured, other with an almost panther like stalk to it. Yet she found no arrogance in his expression, no assumptions in his freezing blue gaze as their colored orbs met. The smirk that played along bloody lips was neither antagonistic in nature nor lustful or provocative. Appraising perhaps. His face was much like the reflection she saw in the various waters she passed. Perhaps they were not so different of mind. The stallion was no doubt attractive. Colored an exotic crimson with black accents, and if one were to ignore the emotions- or lack thereof- in his eyes the color of his optics were indeed beautiful. It wasn't anything to stir in Lakota, merely an observation. A frown marred his visage momentarily before a deep rumbling voice split the silence that seemed muted by the snow. Violet eyes swept over him much as he had done, meeting his eyes straight on without any pretenses. There was no malice from here, a detached coldness perhaps, with a tiny sliver of another emotion. Curiosity? His immediate question, forgoing the hello part of a greeting, was a rather attractive feature to him. Not in the sense many others would use for the word attractive, but Lakota enjoyed the straightforwardness. "I know that it is colder than the breath of death." Her voice remained cold and almost sarcastic, but it was the truth. Lakota had only just arrived after all. These words would be an obvious answer to the stallion that privately intrigued her- Lakota was a newcomer, and that was truly all she knew. Another mare descended upon them, and with her a cub of sorts. Almost instantly she spoke, informing them both of the herds and the land which they stood in. Lakota's visage did not change, refusing to show her reaction to any of it. The herds did not appeal to her if they were so accepting. Her Queen had shown her to that error. "These mercenaries you speak of. What is their cause?" The mare's bloody gaze was hard and impartial. Lakota was just as intrigued by her as the stallion standing next to her. Sweeping her purpled gaze over her, taking it in. Very beautiful, in a deadly sort of way. Now to sit back and watch how this progressed with the stallion's reaction. RE: Take Me As I Am [Open, Ktu/Phi] - Lakota - 10-28-2012 Amusement was clear in the stallion's sharp blue eyes, turning to the skies and watching as the flakes came down upon them. Agreeing although it seemed the weather did not strike much into him. Lakota found it a minute annoyance in the grand scheme of things as well. Bright violet eyes only moved from the masculine form when the wine eyed beauty appeared. She was an imposing figure that commanded their attention, which in her need to know of these mercenaries LMota gave to her. Only now realizing that none of them knew each other's names. Right down to business, which Lakota found she liked more than the normal fluffy greetings that did no good for her. Blue eyes looked to her as she pushed her question out there. Immediately after setting forth his own. Taking the words right from her mouth. Violet eyes appraised him once again. At least she would not have to ask the question now. The mare watched them both with her ethereal eyes, Lakota listening intently as whe spoke. There was no foolishness to be had from her, and the roam found herself considering this band of mercenaries rather seriously. What got her in the end was the speech of peace. Violet eyes turned to a passionate blaze of cold fire, an oxymoron she didn't care for. Ebony hooves moving forward a few steps towards the other mare. "You stand for what I stand for. Hoping for peace achieves nothing. If your mercenaries are willing to kill for those who cannot fight, then they are better than the foul leaders who speak of fairness and let their soldiers perish." Tail whipping angrily at such a thought, though her eyes never left the glowing embers within the dark face before her. For a long moment she studied the mare, clearly a leader of this mercenary band. Lakota sensed that no weak fools would be among her ranks, and the fights the blue had gotten into would diminish. This mare she could follow. Respect. Unlike her Queen, she knew the horrors of the world and embraced them. These mercenaries matched what Lakota believed in. That democracy was a foolish illusion for peace. That one must fight with every ounce of them, both for themselves, their brethren, their cause, and those they protected. Morality seemed to exist in some sort in this band of hers. They fought for those who were unable to. Sooty cranium bowed a fraction of an inch. Her tone never dropped from emotionless as she spoke. "This band seems the only thing that truly fits. I will not serve a weak leader. If I should follow you to this band, what must I do?" And though her sharp gaze never wavered, it was clear that Lakota wished to join these mercenaries. Her words of weak leaders was the only compliment she would give. It wasn't direct but she was saying that the dark mare was strong both in ideals and physically. RE: Take Me As I Am [Open, Ktu/Phi] - Rafe - 10-28-2012

RE: Take Me As I Am [Open, Ktu/Phi] - Lakota - 10-29-2012 Brief passionate actions subsided quickly, retreating back into icy lavender eyes. Lakota cursed herself for revealing anything, for being effected even in a miniscule amount by the shadow canvas of a mare. Hadn't the blue dove learned so long ago that nobody would care how she felt anyways? All it would do was give them something to hold against her, twist her arm behind her back with so to speak. Lakota didn't deny that she held morals. She simply chose to ignore them most of the time. Even so, having a passion when fighting got you places. Anger, jealousy, horror; those clouded the mind in battle, made it easier for you to succumb and possibly lose your life. Having a passion for it was different, in Lakota's mind. Either way it was too late, she had shown it and there was no point worrying over how it would be recieved. The mare's answer didn't bother the blue girl, she could easily accept that lifestyle. Nodding curtly to show she had understood and accepted it. The stallion spoke up once again, signing himself in almost enthusiastically. The word choice didn't bother her. Calling yourself a killer shouldn't be something to any from. If it was the truth then speak it. The mare quickly introduced herself as Ktulu, leader of the mercenaries who appeared to be named the Grey. How fitting, Lakota found herself thinking ironically. Neither black nor white. A mix. At the mention of Ophelia, the gears in Lakota's head started turning. Having always been interested in poisons perhaps it would be best to seek out this 'Ophelia'. If she could heal someone else of poison, then she must know what poisons existed naturally. Though the femme knew that sisters were intensely close, and would make sure to clear it with Ktulu. Lakota had gotten into one too many fights because a sibling believed its kin was in danger. Just as swiftly and silently as she had come, Ktulu turned and after some sort of sign from the cub that had remained patiently at her hooves for one so young. Lakota had no desire to dawdle. It wasn't her way. She always had a goal or a purpose. However she was left with company, and had to rethink what to do next. Shelter was obvious, but Lakota wouldn't join a herd for even a moment if she could help it. Already a sense of purpose was upon her slender shoulders, loyalty stirring and growing slower than the creeping plants that inched too slow for the eye to see up ancient trees. In time she would only be loyal to the Grey. Shaking those thoughts away, however subconscious they may be. Turning deep lavender eyes to the still unnamed stallion. RE: Take Me As I Am [Open, Ktu/Phi] - Tamme - 10-30-2012 Lakota is welcome here http://helovia.net/showthread.php?tid=2662 Or in any other Rafe thread! RE: Take Me As I Am [Open, Ktu/Phi] - Lakota - 10-31-2012 [[Got it :) same for Rafe once Kota gets out more! Didn't know if it would end there but no harm in replying!]] All that remained was silence. Lakota felt mildly disappointed that the mare had left without something for her to do. The roan did not do well with wandering about like a brainless idiot. Snorting softly but no words fell from scorched lips, refusing to even twitch in a betrayal of her thoughts. It had become second nature by now, a cloak she kept fastened over her shoulders all hours of the day. Only she held the key to that clasp. If she had anything to do with it, it would remain that way. Getting to know the land was vital for her, but it was a task she deemed infinitely distasteful. Scouting and categorizing not only took time, but approaching here borders drew the morons and she despised how they assumed she wanted into their petty little club of a herd. That and outcasts were either bulky and gruff with little intelligence, sinister and useless to play with, or innocent and annoying. Lakota nearly growled, her hatred for this particular step flaring up before dying back into simmering coals. Violet eyes snapped back to the stallion, feeling his gaze. She knew that he was worthy of respect if only because of the fighter within him, and that now they were united in the same band she must play nice. Didn't mean she had to enjoy it. Something about him made it seem like he could see through her, and her defenses were rising steadily. Regarding him cooly as his deep voice rang out, listeners twitching to show she'd heard. Watching him leave with the same gait she had observed with grudging respect upon his arrival. Seeing her choices set out in from of her and cursing rather loudly, growling a little as she turned and stalked after him. Lean long legs keeping up with him. Eyes settling into a glare at having to follow like a lost pup. "Lakota." Sharp like a snake bite, warning against silly nicknames or playful attitudes. Resigning herself to staying with him and wiping the disgruntled look away to be replaced with the normal stony silence. |
