Should the steal succeed, assume Ink was able to kidnap him witht he help of others, perhaps an ambush attack, and take him back to the Edge.

Pass. 3 of the clues are sufficient to guess Abyss, especially with the last one which made me immediately think of his name upon the reveal.
The middle clues are a bit sketchy and misleading and not very direct.
