blue moon [hatching] - Sunjata - 06-23-2017 a calm sea never made a skilled sailor
He had heard the Sun God’s last words as he removed himself from the Throat. Immediately, anger swelled in his breast, unable to keep calm and quiet about the whole ordeal. Just when the Korofi stallion had just thought he’d found a home, a bigger threat loomed over. This wasn’t a unicorn versus Pegasus fight. It wasn’t even an equine battle. No, this was the god’s battle, and the mortals that lived among the earth had to pay the price. He was furious as he flew from the Throat, unable to look at it and continue to call it a home. Sunjata packed up his things (all two of them, the blade and his wing band) and left without looking back. But he didn’t make it far – his rage blinded him, making it hard to see where he was going, and as he finally began to reach the ground from his quick and furious flight, he ended up near the Heart Caves, grumbling consistently to himself as the minutes ticked on. As he approached the mouth of the cave, a slick dark ebony rock slipped from beside the opening. It rolled slightly until it crossed the path of the blue jay, and yet Sunjata thought about stepping over it and continuing on, hiding himself among the caves never to be seen again. However, it began to wiggle slightly, and inevitably changed his mind quite possibly for the better. His pale head lowered, dark lips nipping at the rock to see what it was made of. But just before he could knock it away with his nose, it wiggled once again. His pale ears perked forward, icy, rage-filled eyes glimmering as he looked upon the “stone”. When suddenly, a crack split the top. His head flew back as his wings flared out, ready to try and step on whatever came out of this… egg? A grunt escaped his lips as the egg paused for a moment of rest before continuing to crack the outer shell. When finally, all the cracks had been made, the bits and pieces fell away to reveal a small, scaled creature. This was one he had seen before, from Korofi and even here in Helovia upon occasion. It was a crocodile. Immediately, instinct told him to leave, but something drew him to it. The little creature looked up at him with brilliant gold eyes, its powerful jaws open slightly as it attempted to hiss at Sunjata. Then, suddenly, a wave of hunger crashed over him. His brows furrowed as he shook his head, knowing he was far too angry to be hungry at a time like this. What could it be? "Talk." sunjata @Naerys for interest, but open otherwise :D RE: blue moon [hatching] - Iona - 06-23-2017
MY NAME IS IONA AND I RUIN COMPANION THREADS. @Sunjata RE: blue moon [hatching] - Sunjata - 06-25-2017 a calm sea never made a skilled sailor
Sunjata remained staring at this strange creature. Scaled, built relatively small, but with the biggest – most toothiest mouth he’d ever seen. A frown crossed his lips as he stared at this creature, it glares back with its slit pupiled gaze. Its mouth opened slightly, hanging there open as it began to hiss quietly and angrily. It blared in his mind, the hunger and the anger, to the point where Sunjata hadn’t even noticed Iona land nearby. Only when she laughed did his pale head whip up, icy eyes seeking who dared to think this was funny. As his eyes landed on a familiar Pegasus, they softened slightly but remained simmering. “You too, huh?” She asked, causing Sunjata’s gaze to roam over the mare to the bird that seemed attached to her. Then, he remembered Volterra and the dragons. Immediately his ears flattened and he shook his head. “That can’t be. This is not helpful.” He grumbled, stepping closer to the dark crocodile as the hissing grew louder. His head lowered to it in an attempt to befriend the ancient, yet newly hatched creature. SNAP The jaws of the crocodile made a loud crack as it met with a few hairs off Sunjata’s muzzle. Instantly, Jata’s head flew back as he stepped away from the beast. “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” His thickly accented voice blared as he glared down the creature, pulling his wings in tight to his sides in case the small creature tried to run. The companion, however, let his slit gaze roam to Iona and the bird, his jaw still half open as he hissed. “In my native tongue we called them krokodil. I do not know what they’re called here.” Sunjata finally answered, ears pinned against his head as he glared at the creature. When suddenly, the creature wasn’t done. He sprung into action, waddling toward Jata with a surprising amount of speed. Jata’s wings flew out as he reared up to avoid what target he thought the creature was going for, but when his legs reached the ground, the crocodile had managed to catch a rat snake, easily tearing the poor thing in half before swallowing it piece by piece. Then, he used his nearly useless legs to pull himself comfortably underneath Sunjata, staring out at Iona from the aftermath. “Wat die fok.” He grumbled, staring down at the crocodile.
