Musket Jousting [OPEN] - Oster - 01-07-2013 Striped hooves planted sturdily in the leaf litter at every step keeping Oster's shaggy dun body moving forward, even in his exhaustion. A deep sigh of air left him, and seeing the trees finally beginning to thin he would slowly halt his plodding gait. Blue eyes viewed the trees, his breathing deep and heavy, as he had travelled a long distance that day. The forest had not been his preferred section to stop, so he had forced himself to endure the fatigue and sore, stiffening muscle pain, and get to a safer place. And finally, he could stop. Lifting his proud neck, and boxy head, he would glance about, ears flicking to catch sounds, eyes checking around. He was unsure if this place was safe, or a danger.
No - there was nothing suspicious, only the call of the night birds and creatures, swooping about, doing whatever they did normally. His head drooped, eyes starting to close. No. he had to stay awake… well, it wouldn't hurt for a nap, Oster reason, and resting his right hip, and locking the other leg, Oster, would allow himself to doze, relaxing most of his brown-bay body, breathing slowing. A yawn caressed his maw, showing his teeth for a moment, before clicking shut, eyes closing gently, but still on his guard, obvious by the way his ears were pricked. a small nap wouldn't do anyone harm, and he was so tired… The call of a bird nearby snapped him awake, and he grumbled to himself, then tried to relax back into his doze again. It wasn't particularly working, and as Oster stood, his eyes closed, muscles at ease, hut his hooves somewhat sore, he snorted, dispelling dust fom his nasal passages, and preventing him from having to sneeze later. Hopefully now, he'd get some shut-eye before he came across someone. RE: Musket Jousting [OPEN] - Jackal2 - 01-08-2013
RE: Musket Jousting [OPEN] - Oster - 01-08-2013 Drifting as his mind was, Oster's attention did not. His ears lazily swivelled around him at every sound, searching, scabbing for any danger. But.. something was off. The sounds of creatures were gone, and it was silent, save for the swish of wind in the dark trees. Ill at ease, blue eyes opened, the shaggy pony's neck rising from it's previously relaxed state. And.. what was that? A slight swish… too quite to be a bat's. An owl? But again, owls made no discernible sound… and they didn't disturb the peace. Peering about him, Oster shifts slightly, ready to move. Suddenly, a dark shape from the corner of his eye caught the stallion's attention, and he swung, spooking to a degree, heart rate fluttering up. He caught a flash of talons int he dark, then a harsh, reptilian caw brought the dun pony to his senses, and he pinned his ears back, ready to face whatever confronted him… but nothing was there. Gone, the current danger passed. Oster forced himself to calm down, relax somewhat. Hopefully that was a sign somebody else was in the area…
He spent a few, tense moments listening carefully, making sure that thing, whatever it was, as he had not caught at true sight of the dragon in the dark, wasn't coming back. He finally reassured himself, ears returning to their normal position, and the obvious sound of hoofbeats through the undergrowth met his ears. Oster listened, holding himself taller, somewhat still on edge. But what greeted him wasn't what he was expecting. Another male - taller than himself, by quite a few hands. But what did surprise him was the creature seated on this stallion's back. He drew a glance to the dragon, wondering if this creature was the once who had spooked him so. But of course, he wasn't going to say that out loud - heavens forbid making himself look like a fool before anybody. The other was first to speak, a simple greeting of one simple word. "Evening." Oster would answer, his voice blank, but still polite. Shifting his stance, realising his limb was falling asleep to some extent, Oster's auds easily caught the second part of the other's words. "Of which I now know." he answered, his tone still neutral but polite. He did not wish ill. RE: Musket Jousting [OPEN] - Jackal2 - 01-09-2013
