Fail -- I don't think this is widespread knowledge, I've never heard of it before anyway, and lots of horse breeds can have shiny metallic coats. It just wasn't a clue that made sense to me, even after the reveal.

Fail -- I'm not sure how gold color applies to this? I also didn't get the species ref with this, I took it as more of a rank ref, which I think has to do with the way your wrded it. I agree empty crown can be a good non-unicorn clue, but in this scenario it seems misdirecting and just didn't 'click' for me.

I considered this one for a while because your explanations make sense, but looking back on it, I am not certain how this would draw the conclusion of Angora.

This one is pretty easy to apply. The first thing that pops up is that wiki page in a search, so this one was okay for me. I still don't think it was solid.

To me, this read as the coat was shiny blood bay or chestnut. Angora's profile also does not refer to her as shiny.

Crowns are gold, and she has no horn, but this to me was more like a fallen leader than any sort of species reference or color ref.
