"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Only the herdlands have a source of light, but lamp-trees with glowing leaves and branches sporadically line the popular roads and paths from place to place.
Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

Character of the Month for
June, 2017
WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

"Brother, brother!!" The dragoness' voice was an exuberant trill within my head, much like a child who was pleading its parents for attention. I may have been annoyed under different circumstances, but no, for this find was simply too extraordinary.
The day I had received the egg which held an infant Suli was one I would never forget. I had shown kindness to the much too-large spiders in the deepest part of the forests, sparing them from the harm that everyone else seemed so intent on causing them and offering them a home during the bitter winter months. Suli had been my reward, and since her hatching, my constant reminder that oftentimes, patience and benevolence were key in avoiding unnecessary violence and bloodshed. I had guarded and kept her warm to the best of my abilities, assuring the crystalline egg was always within my sights and that it never grew too cold. There were times I doubted myself, thinking I had failed and that the child within was no more, but on one fine Tallsun evening, the little green finally broke free from her shell.
Her egg, as I recalled, had looked precisely like the one sitting nestled in a patch of ferns by the bubbling brook, alone and defenseless against the far too commonly cruel world. Suli had taken on a seemingly instant maternal liking to the diamond-like egg, pushing her nose into it and giving it a little shove, and making noises akin to purring that I had never heard from the little dragoness before. "He alive," she assured me after meticulously checking the egg over, "But very cold."
"And it is for certain another dragon?" I inquired, puzzled that I might be so blessed as to have found two of these spectacular creatures in a singular lifetime.
"Yes," she assured me once more, and when she went on next, there was a clear note of annoyance as she barked her command to me. "Now find wood!"
She was right; if the child inside grew too cold, then I knew it spelled nothing but certain death for the poor creature. It was up to us to ensure its, or his as Suli had said, survival.
Turning, I went about collecting what I could, choosing the largest of fallen branches I could find while Suli took to finding the smaller twigs for kindling, picking up what was on the ground, assuring it was nothing too fresh so that it would burn properly. After a few minutes, we had collected enough to begin a small fire, fueled by Suli's flame once the wood was set correctly. It crackled and popped as it burned, and soon, its heat became noticeable. Looking far more proud than I could ever recall, Suli clambered up onto the egg, wrapping herself about it as well as she was able. A soft smile pulled at my dark, scarred lips at the sight; perhaps the first true smile to have graced this tired face in months.
"He will be fine," I spoke aloud, assuringly, moving closer to Suli and the egg that she had seemed to claim as her own, "He will be just fine..."
