Though he stood under the rays of a bright, Birdsong sun, the hybrid felt far from warm. His insides had frozen over, his heart like cold metal. Even his silver eyes were resembling ice on this midday. Henrietta sat on her haunches, not far away, watching Caleb. She could feel the sudden chill from his end of the bond and it thoroughly freaked her out. The beast had shut her out, a wall dropping over his mind, and Henrietta was every bit uncomfortable with it. When she tugged at his mind, he could feel it, but he never responded, never acknowledged her. The bitch understood her master had been hurt, she had felt it before, vividly. His mental pain had been so taxing to the hound that it almost physically pained her to feel all Caleb’s wild emotions. This is why the titan shut her out. Her dog brain cannot handle the complexities of Caleb’s brain. The hound would never understand what Caleb has gone through, never know what it feels like to have to leave her parent’s at a young age, fight to live. She’ll never be discriminated against or have to worry if someone decides to attack her in the middle of the night because she was wings.

Caleb, who had been standing eerily still, exploded in a flash of movement. His forelegs came off of the ground, lifting Caleb into a rear. His chrome forelegs thrashing around, violently slashing the air. From his lips departed a deep neigh, a scream. The deep sound echoed across the expanse of the shore, alerting anyone who currently stayed in the Endless Blue that Caleb was here, and not to just fuck around. His forehooves slammed back into the ground with an impressive thud, throwing salted sand into the air in the process. The bright and cheery weather was changing, the warm air and calm waves swiftly turning cold and violent, almost reflecting Caleb’s inner mood. The sky was darkening, rain-heavy clouds rolling in, threatening to pour down on Caleb and the rest of the beach. Within seconds, the bottom let out and it wasn’t just drizzling, but pouring. The rain quickly drenched the hybrid and the hound along with all the land around them and the trees that grew slightly further from the shore. Though this wet-sand footing is not ideal for a spar, Caleb does not stand down. Rain has never stopped the hybrid before, why would it now?

When no one approaches Caleb, accepting the challenge he ushered forth in a neigh, his lips part and words pour from them, a much more clear invitation for a spar then a simple bugle. “Face me, opponent! Let us fight until one of us is crowned victorious!” Caleb wasn’t sure who would show up, who would accept the challenge, but he needed it. He needed to see blood, he craved it desperately. His mind was solely focused on sparring, and nothing would stop him now, not even if the prettiest mare he’d ever seen showed up and asked him to stop. Adrenaline already coursing his veins. The hybrid is married to the idea of a spar happening right here, under the ominous clouds. Crashes of lightning are constant, followed by the roar of thunder. If Caleb were very religious, he would surely believe the Earth God to be angry at him in this moment, but since he is not, he assumes this is another storm, equal to all the others, and presses on. The waves smash into the shore will such force that saltwater is sprayed at Caleb who stands only a couple feet from the water. He eagerly awaits the arrival of an opponent, eyes searching the area for someone who will face the 17.1hh brute.

"blah blah blah."
