May the damn gods forsake this land, water rushed past Oultik's cloven hooves and tumbled to the blood red pool below. Rage had boiled in his stomach until it was no more. No longer do I have my Krisorau nor the dragon. My men are no longer my own. Magic is in my grasp no more. The stallion had been stripped of all. No longer do I have self. Pebbles disturbed by Oultik's shifting weight tumbled down the waterfall's edge. Only the memories stay-- though I rather they be stolen.

Erakro watched her father from behind. His face was hidden to her but she need not to see his expression to know his feelings; for they coursed through her too. Oultik's every emotion was forced upon her. The lion had been spared a dark beginning as what Oultik had experienced, it annoyed her that his broodiness impeded on her normality. In Erakro's mouth a fish lay limp. Water pooled on the ground around her paws. She dropped the meal; appetite ruined by her irritation for having emotions thrust upon her. Sometimes the lion envied those animals who were not bonded.

Oultik stiffened as Erakro's feelings mingled with his own. He turned to look back at her and for a moment the unicorn only stared at her blankly. Is it truly how my Era feels? So as to protect him hurt morphed itself to instead be anger. "To think in such a manner," tired was his expression but sharp was his tongue, "it tells how little you know." Selfish. "Bonds are able to be broken Erakro." Oultik ploughed through the water, "Shall we see how you would fare without me?" His leonine tail, made heavy by water, dragged behind him; too heavy to lift even the slightest. Water sprayed around him as he pressed forward to stand before Erakro. "Should we see how you may enjoy better the company of another?" Having reached Erakro Oultik thrust his head at the lioness with his ears pinned before pulling away with a sigh. Instead he turned his eyes to distant scenery.

Oultik remembered those the lion cub had been born to. He remembered the hooves that had sought to destroy the girl. You would be nothing without me, the stallion looked down on Erakro with eyes clouded by storm but the young lioness looked back at him with an equally fierce gaze; a low rumble grew in her throat. Oultik's expression fell at hearing Erakro growl at-- him. Seeing his vulnerability Erakro too hesitated. ...Just as I would be naught without her. The moment was brief though and both faces hardened once more.
