After the event of the Basin invasion, Levi had a question that still bubbled in his mind. The silver wondered if any of the other herds were being attacked as well. He knew that the Basin was a large herd of the horned, but he never knew how many there actually were living in the herd. When they came to attack, it only looked like a small amount of unfit rebels. Maybe seven at the most, and Levi could have sworn from the information he was told that there were more living in the herd than that. Unless that was how small their military forces were, but it just didn’t make sense…it couldn’t be! They were too small of a group and the brute did not feel that all of their forces were there. To Levi, this was “strategy” dumb anyways because why on earth would someone have a small military and not use all of their forces? There was only one answer the grullo could think of and it was if they had split the soldiers up to attack in the different regions.

It was not that he actually had any interest of the foes, but he was just surprised. To be honest, they weren’t as strong a group as the Throat and even though Levi was in no shape to fight, his opponent wasn’t that hard. His hellhound on the other hand was kind of tough, but Levi knew that he would be able to handle it. The wounds that Crowley had left him were still crusty and sore. His wing never healed and he needed to go see Onni, he knew, but he just had to see if Romani was alright first. He needed to talk to her. He needed to see if she was alright and how she was holding up. The silver brute missed her dearly and was intrigued to know if she and her herd were alright. After all the Edge were allies with the Throat.

Orbs gazed at the tree tops as the cozy sun rays creped through the branches, creating warmth on his back. The rolling seas seemed to hush the forest as they landed on the bank. Trudging the brute carefully slipped through the trees. His lookout was of full alert, he was very anxious to find his irony friend. “Romani!” He called through the trees. Turning his cranium he searched in every direction for her and the tigress. Still no sign. The brute hoped they would arrive soon because it was making him nervous. Taking a deep breath, he sighed and stood silently waiting.

Romani

The palomino gypsy barely had enough time to truly settle back into the Edge before her peace was disturbed once more. Being stolen away for the long, terrible months that she had been, Romani had been eager to return to the misty forests of the Edge and be reunited with Jasiri and Xanthos. Had her daughter grown during her absence? Had Xanthos worried himself sick over her whereabouts? She had been so very eager, eyes alight with heart-felt joy... And yet, upon returning home, Romani had found no sign of her little family. They had not come to greet her, nor had she found them... Perhaps they had wandered off, in search for her? It was hard to tell.

Regardless, the sense of freedom and pure feeling of safety from being back in the Edge put the Haflinger mare on ease. She was grazing, pulling thin blades of grass free from the earth and chewing thoughtfully. At her side, young Kasai was sprawled out on her side in the grass, the black tip of her tail twitching every now and then. The young tiger's chest rose and fell evenly, a sure sign that the feline was deep in a dream... Perhaps of chasing a bird, or playing with feathers. Romani spared her companion a glance before chuckling softly, head shaking slowly as she ate.

Yes... It was good to be home, even if her family was not there to share in her joy.

"Romani!"

A sudden shout caused the mare's head to snap upwards at attention, eyes narrowed in keen alertness that served her as a warrior. Feeling her bond-mate's change, Kasai also snapped awake, rolling onto her belly and looking around with sleep-muddled eyes. For the briefest of moments, Romani thought that it was Xanthos who had called for her... But no, that was not her mate's kind voice.

Levi! Came a bellow from Kasai through their mental bond, the young tiger practically leaping to her paws, ears perked upwards and tail raised in excitement. Roma! Levi! Almost as soon as the cub's words floated around her head, the recognition flipped on. It was Levi! Her dear friend from the Dragon's Throat!

Turning on her haunches, the Haflinger mare ventured towards the sound of where Levi's precious vocals had come from, her pace set at a brisk trot. Together she and Kasai broke through the thickest of treelines, and there, standing in a clearing, was the silvered stag that Romani had grown to adore. As a friend, mind you, a dear friend who would always listen if she eve needed to talk.

"Levi!" Romani cried with a nicker of joy, her head tossing in excitement, "Levi, my friend, how wondrous it is to see you!" The thick-built mare slowed to a stop a few paces in front of the grullo stallion and slowly lessened the distance between them, her muzzle outstretching to brush softly against Levi's own. Upon spotting the Pegasus, Kasai let out a growl of joy as well and padded up to the stallion, her chest reverberating with a loud purr of pleasure. The tigress would never forget how Levi had let her play with the feathers upon his wings, seasons and seasons ago.

Romani smiled joyously. "How are you, my friend? What brings you to the Edge?"

"Levi!"

Ah, that’s better.

Levi did not have to worry long, for the duo came bounding towards him not long after he had called. Smiles plastered to their enlightened faces. Through the thick line of trees, they made their way towards the silver in the cleared area of the Edge. Levi too must have looked like such a colt, with his pathetic whinny and the happiness which blazoned on his features. His orbs were illuminated with joy and his hooves stomped with excitement. Oh how wonderful it was to see them again! He did not realize how much he missed them since the last time he had seen his irony friend and tigress. Romani was always there when he needed her the most. He also remembered when she could not remember a thing and he tried to remind her of her memories. That was a scary time because Levi could not tell if the irony princess was serious or just playing. Luckily, she got her memory back and soon enough she was back to normal.

Running towards them, he could not wait another second to greet the two. Levi’s ears rang with Romani’s velvety words. And he immediately felt the warm comfort in which Romani had always brought to him. His head rose to them in a response. “Romani! Kasai!” He nickered happily. The stag was so thrilled to see them and almost could not contain the words that were almost bursting off his tongue. But before he could even start to respond to Romani, he and his friend’s gap was closing and then he felt her soft touch of her muzzle meet his. His hot breath lingered as he nuzzled her, in a friendly way, back. Then he felt something else run against him. Oh, Kasai he thought with a chuckle. Removing his muzzle from Romani’s touch, he lowered his neck and nuzzled into Kasai. Once he felt satisfied, he returned his neck to face Romani.

“It’s always a pleasure to see you as well, my dear friends!” His voice rang with a content tone, looking from Romani to Kasai. His orbs seemed to smile, but in the background, there was something off. It looked something of guilt and displeasure. He remembered suddenly why he was here. Levi was here to see if Romani and Kasai were alright, It seemed as though she was just fine, but on the other hand he did not know if the Edge was attacked or not. Biting his lip, he was thinking of how he should tell her. “Romani, I have come to check on you and your members. Have you been attacked? Are you alright?” Levi sighed. “Romani… the Throat has been attacked by the Basin and so I was not sure if the Edge was too,” He paused. “I was just so worried…”
