Hocus Pocus.

A blue sleazy cloth hugged Levi’s top line. Knotted around his neck, like a bowtie, the blue thread secured the flimsy cloth from falling off his back. Also, for extra security, the cloth was forced between his wings. Masked with another black fabric, which wrapped around both eyes, the brute appeared bandit like. The mask was secured tied with thread around his upper neck and jaw bone. A golden colored cardboard belt was secured around his loin area. And finally for the piece of resistance, his hooves were a deep shade of blue to match his cloak. He stained his silver hooves from walking in a sea of wild flowers in the early morning. Other than his blue hooves, the brute had no idea how the rest of this charade came to be. To be perfectly honest Levi did not even know where he was headed, or why…

Wait.

Where was he?

Thick grass pricked up from the soft earth below, tickling his hocks as he walked. Making a trail, Levi pressed the tall field down as he made his way. The trickling dew damped his legs and under his stomach every step he took into the unknown area. Flowers and wooded trees were blooming every so often in the field. Orbs opened wide with nostrils flared as he awed at the breathtaking scene. It was so beautiful…

Bubble-blurb-blub.

A creek? Levi thought to himself. Twisting his cranium towards the right, he was indeed correct when he spotted the lively water. He took his time and the brute carelessly slipped towards the creek. As the sound got louder, he looked at his reflection in the water quickly before placing his dark muzzle in the refreshing water. Levi took the pleasure of quenching his unknown thirst and the liquid danced down his throat. Once the brute felt satisfied, he looked towards his reflection once again. Before he could even think about what he looked like, he heard a sound coming from the opposite direction.

Before he knew what was going on Levi had leapt in the direction of Felix, pacing at a slow canter. Pressing the large blades of grass down on each stride he took, Levi’s hooves sank into the soft earth beneath him. His rich blue cloak rested upon the air from the force of Levi’s jolt and flung off his back leaving it exposure. Closer and closer Levi got and suddenly he knew what he had to do. He was a soldier and sparring came naturally to the stud. At the last minute, before ramming into the white pegasi, Levi quickly shifted to his left (Felix’s right) and attempted to body slam his own right shoulder into Felix’s right shoulder. The question was… what were they doing here anyways?

Hocus Pocus
Felix was not particularly interested in what he was doing in the field, though he knew there was some sort of contest going on. No, the stallion was interested in the beauty of the place, content at just standing with half lidded eyes whilst listening to the bubbling creek and the sound of birdsong whistling in his ears. The sun was still rising, not yet at its peak, yet already the day was warm and he enjoyed the feeling of his pelt slowly heating as the sun beat down upon it, caressing his flesh like the tender nuzzle of a mother.

He smiled with a wide yawn before glancing around the area. Thin, white fabric billowed out as a slight gust of wind embraced him, moving about his body and causing his long mane to dance and bob in rhythm with the constant tweeting of the birds, his docked tail writhing to get free of the fabric that covered it for the most part. As he began to move through the field, grass licking at his fetlocks, he threw an irritated glance up toward the head band contraption upon his brow, that supported a springy wire and, upon that, a halo. It bobbed back and forth and was not a pleasant feeling. It was quite distracting, actually, and he found himself walking stiffly in an attempt to stop it from flailing around quite so much. The rest of his costume, a mock bow and arrows slung haphazardly between his wings, was bearable.

As he turned, he saw that he seemed to be facing another oddly dressed fellow who was cantering in his direction. He smiled, a wide grin plastered upon his face as he opened his mouth; "Hail, frie-!" His words were cut short as he simply stood, smile fading into a shocked, jaw gaping stare as the stag did not slow his pace. Throwing up his right wing to protect it, he felt the taller, more muscular creature slam into his shoulder, forcing Felix to stumble backward a pace. He winced at the pain of the sudden collision. Boy, was that going to bruise!

Had he not seen him? How rude! Felix thought, not quite realizing how he, in fact, was just as much a part of this game as anybody else. He was a pawn, and he had the ill fortune to be facing a knight. As Levi passed, Felix attempted to shift his hind quarters slightly to the right, kicking up his heels in the hopes he might catch Levi's hind legs as he passed. As his feet grounded, Felix turned 180 degrees over his right shoulder in the hopes Levi was not too far removed from his position and burst into a gallop, hoping that he might chase the bigger pegasus for a quick burst. As he did so, he hoped to lash out his teeth to bite down upon the gluteals of the more experienced fighter.

Hocus Pocus.

The silver brute was anticipating a collision with the ridiculously dressed palomino, but it had come quicker than expected. Nostrils flared and ears tipped forwards with excitement as the stag was closing in on, what seemed to be, the endless gap. Orbs blinked and then grew wide in confusion as Levi examined the light stag more closely. He was clothed in a hysterical way and a giant grin grew on Levi’s features. What is he wearing? Levi thought to himself with a chuckle. Felix was clothed in a snow-white cloth which was secured around his neck, had a golden circular halo that danced with each stride he took around his head, and a bag of arrows and a bow safely tucked between his wings. WHAT a day this was starting out to be.

Smack!

Levi grunted as he and Felix collided, feeling his shoulder meet another as his cape fluttered violently from the force. A slight pain lingered in his right shoulder as he felt Felix’s slender figure push backwards from his own momentum. It was clear that Levi had run with too much force toward the smaller stallion because it sent him backwards slightly. The throat stallion was not trying to hurt Felix in anyway. And Levi was even more bewildered because he had no clue of where he was or why he was here. He did not know why Felix was here either. Why was he dressed so hysterically? Levi hadn’t a clue.

Hooves suddenly met Levi’s right rib cage as he was passing. The silver braced himself from the slight pain as the brief connection was made. Turning his head to see what was going on, Felix’s hooves finally fell off of Levi’s side. Levi snorted in disappointment, as he saw Felix quickly turn 180 degrees to chase him down. Not this time the soldier thought to himself.

Bracing himself Levi quickened his pace so that Felix would have to work harder to catch up, but then Levi thought in a new direction and quickly turned around to face Felix, running towards him once again. This time Levi ran towards the palomino dodging to his right (Felix’s left). Gaping his dark mouth, Levi bared his teeth as he ran by, attempting to scrape his neck.

Attack: Levi dodged to his right so that as he passed he would attempt to scrape at Felix’s neck.

Hocus Pocus
As he galloped forwards, gnashers bared and head extended in an attempt to clamp down upon the hind quarters of his opponent, he felt a pang of annoyance as the taller being managed to force himself forwards much faster than the slightly built stag. Now, Felix had always considered himself a fast horse, though maybe it was his family that had been slow by comparison, and he was, in fact, no marvel in terms of speed, so as Levi managed to out pace him he felt his competitive streak compel him onward. His legs pumped harder, wings tucked tightly upon his back as he slowly crept up on the black stag. Yet to all his efforts, it didn't mean a thing, for before he could catch up to the grullo, he had span.

Kicking up dirt, the larger Pegasus sharply turned so that the pair were charging head on. At the speed Felix was running, there was no point in stopping and attempting to avoid whatever devious plot Levi had in mind, so instead his mismatched eyes watched the front legs of his opponent. As Levi shifted to the left of Felix, Felix in turn moved right as that the sharp ivories of the grullo missed their mark, clamping down on empty air.

Maybe not entirely empty. Felix heard fabric ripping, though he had no clue if Levi was behind it. Regardless, the attack had been avoided with ease and the arabian whinnied in victory, though it was by no means the end to this spar. Turning 180 degrees yet again, for the pair seemed to enjoy this speed induced ballet they were currently performing, Felix continued his gallop and attempted to run alongside Levi. Gnashers reached out yet again, but this time reaching for the fabric draped around the grullo's shoulders, inspired by the odd ripping sound a few moment previous and hoping that the navy cape would not be to easily torn.

In this race, Felix was determined to be faster, pumping his legs and hoping that, had he successfully grabbed the fabric, he could pull the navy cloth over Levi's head and, with luck and strength, he attempted to slow or stop the galloping stag as he dug in his silver heels and came to an abrupt stop. Once his attempt was over, he lashed out with his fangs at Levi's crest, hoping that if his attempt to blind and halt the poor stag had been successful, the Pegasus would be unable to dodge as effectively without simply flailing in a randomly selected direction.

Felix was not trying to defeat the Pegasus in brute strength. In actual fact, he was unsure of why they were fighting at all. It was as if some higher being, some puppeteer, was simply pulling the strings and orchestrating the whole ordeal. Why, the golden boy had no clue, but he was very much enjoying this dance of speed and wit. "Call me Felix, scoundrel! Let us dance!" He called out to the black bodied creature as his fangs retracted and he pulled up his front legs in a rear, lashing out to where he hoped the ribs of his opponent would be. With that, the canary grounded his cloven hooves and pushed out his strides ready to continue the mad dash forwards.

Dodged the attack successfully. Attempts to chase down Levi and tries to pull the cape over his head. If this was successful, he bites down and comes to a halt, hoping the fabric holds and Levi stops. He tries to bite then kicks out with his front hooves.

I'm glad you like him! Felix is a derp xD And Levi is adorable.

Jaw was gaped open, teeth bared and ready to scrape at Felix’s partially exposed side. Legs pushed through the thin blades of grass which tickled at Levi’s hocks. Nostrils drowned in the scent of birdsong, which made the grullo enjoy the spar even more so. Felix, on the other hand, seemed to have an aha moment and was able to figure out Levi’s ways. This time the caramel stag twisted towards the left and moved away from the stag. Levi, however, ran at too quickly of a pace to turn right and before he could even blink his eye, his opponent was right by his side.

Silver orbs narrowed as a smirk aroused on Levi’s dark features. He nodded towards his spar partner in approval for he appreciated the return of enthusiasm. Levi liked sparring with this stallion for he was a great opponent. The silver, lost in his thoughts, had not expected Felix to zoom by him so quickly. Before Levi even could try to catch up to the zooming stallion, the stag could feel his rich blue cape start to rip off his back and choke his neck. And before Levi could even think about the actual rip of the cape, he suddenly could not see a thing. The cape was blinding him! He couldn’t see! Ahh Levi thought in to himself as he pressed his hooves harshly into the soft ground. And right when he was about to come to a halt…

RIP!

Since was Felix’s strength was so powerful and the Levi’s force of momentum was not stopping, it was the two’s teamwork that sent the sleazy cape souring off of the silver stallion’s neck. Levi chuckled slightly as he did not like the dumb cape anyways. It was annoying as he ran towards Felix, blowing in the wind uncontrollably and pulled back slightly on his neck, where as his black mask stayed perfectly in place. “Thank you!” He called to his unknown opponent, watching him as Felix completely came to a stop.

With a burst of energy, Levi ran towards Felix again, and let his legs take over. Full speed was the choice of his legs. As he arrived closer, Levi started to slow his pace, going into a slow trot, once he heard the voice of his opponent meet his drum. “And call me Levi, worthy opponent,” Levi replied gleefully “And then we shall dance, Felix!” Facing Felix, whichever direction he was, Levi came complete to a stop and reared in the air, flailing his two front hooves hoping they would meet Felix’s chest. Before he could even comprehend a thought, Felix’s hooves dug into his right side once again sliced the fresh skin right off. Levi braced himself as the pain came and stung at his open wound. It felt as though a bee stung his wound with a thousand sharp knives and boy did it hurt.

Once Levi’s hooves landed, he tried to work through his pain as he could hear the smaller stag coming towards him in a mad dash. Turning to face his opponent, Levi twisted his butt so he was in front of Felix, and thrashed out with his right hoof, hoping to hit Felix’s neck. Once his legs met the soft earth once again, Levi waited for Felix to come to him.

Hocus Pocus
Felix bit down upon the fabric, feeling it fray between his teeth as the two stallions pulled against one another in a tug of war. His hooves dug in, sliding forwards and digging shallow trenches into the earth as Levi refused, or possibly simply could not, stop. For a moment, Felix thought the fabric might hold true, yet as he tugged his crest back in a last, feeble attempt to stop the silver stag, he heard the rip of the fabric and felt the vibrations through his mouth. His head jerked back suddenly as the fabric gave way and he snorted loudly, fabric caught in his teeth. Throwing it aside, his attempt to lash out his teeth was in vain for his opponent's momentum had kept him going, and Felix was left standing like a fool. Thankyou, called out his opponent and Felix laughed despite his idiocy. Or maybe because of it? "No, thank you, I thought it so stylish I wanted it for myself!" He joked as the fabric fluttered to the ground, blown away by a slight breeze.

Yet despite his good mood, Felix was irritated at himself. He should have known that his attempt to outsmart the taller stag would be pointless. Felix never was one to think through his plans. His reflection, or his brother as was more accurate, was always the 'plan guy', not Felix. Stupid, stupid! His bi-hued eyes lost sight of Levi for a moment as the grullo danced away, only to widen as the Pegasus darted into front of him, coming up straight ahead.

He reared just in time to feel his cloven hooves dig into tender flesh, yet his attack came also with pain; pain from both his bruised shoulder aching in protest at the movement, and the slashing of hooves as they met Felix's own in battle. Levi thrashed out his hooves which struck the golden stags knees, causing shallow gashes in both and causing the younger creature to cry out. As his hooves met dirt, he winced, gritting his teeth and hissing out in pain. But there was no time to stand around looking pretty! (For despite his agony, his vanity was still high on his list of priorities.) He darted forwards, twisting his body slightly to the right so that he might run past Levi, who was quickly moving to turn also.

Felix was fast, but not fast enough. Levi was too close to turn and kick Felix's neck due to the gold boy trying to gallop, but thanks to his hindered and painful movements, Felix found his speed greatly reduced and as Levi bucked, he felt the hind hooves glance over his left shoulder. A thin slice cut over the muscle and he squeezed his eyes shut for just a moment, gasping. His body was not built for injury, and he was not the best at dealing with pain. His front legs trembled as blood bubbled over the gashes, staining his white legs with thin strips of crimson. The fabric around his shoulders fluttered away from Levi's dancing hooves, ripping slit lay but avoiding damage. The stupid spring mounted halo on his head was gleefully bobbing to the beat of this barbaric dance, barely clinging to his crown thanks to the frantic running of the duo.

He had one shot. Levi had bucked and had stopped, and Felix halted his attempt to dash away a few strides after Levi's hooves struck his shoulder, hoping he might be in front of the silvers head. Ignoring the burning and protesting of his knees, Felix bucked his own hind legs back, gritting his teeth as the movement strained at his battered legs and hoping to attack Levi's front right shoulder, that was the side nearest to Felix. He didn't aim for the face. Oh no! Despite everything, Levi was a handsome stag and did not deserve to have that beauty ruined!

As his hind legs landed, he found himself not bothering to move away, instead heaving his sides in a heavy pant and turning to face the silver with a wide grin and pained, yet somehow amused, expression. "You hurt my bloody legs, scoundrel!" He exclaimed, a laugh playing on his lips.
