I circle the snow white daughter of Mauja the Frostheart, the lake glittering beside me and my black tail sweeping the ground, a slight smile on my face. I think myself clever to have stolen her, and with glee imagine all the strife and conflict it would cause. I live to create disturbances; it is my one unadulterated joy in the world. I have no others, my mother having taken them all from me, forcing me to be the cold, seemingly impassionate mare that I was today, knowing that when you loved something it would be taken from you, as my father was from me. I shook away my thoughts, focusing on the task at hand: Sno. Even just the sight of her brought my slight smile up the tiniest bit, though others may have thought I was feeling nothing at all. Now, Mauja would know the feeling of having something he loved beyond his grasp, yet again, according to their history. How funny it would be to have his daughter when they were recently reunited? To see the look on Mauja’s face would be the most pure bliss I had ever experienced, but no one could know that for it would be taken from me, as all things had.

I stop my circling, remembering this unicorn is only a filly, and I should not scare her so. I stand facing her, my light blue eyes similar to hers. Her white coat with some chestnut is passable to me, not someone to be worried about, especially as a filly. I stay far away from the horn protruding from her forehead, as she is one of those creatures of magic, the winged and the horned ones. I envy the winged ones, the ability of flight must be wonderful, but can see no point in having a giant horn stuck to my head. But still, I have some magic of my own. I flick my ebony tail, the hair on my neck and rear erupting from charcoal to bright flame. I swish my fiery locks, obtained through my dutiful worship of the God of the Sun, and sit on my haunches, still starting at the little chestnut varnish roan before me. I shake my head and look at her in mock wonder. “Well. Sno. Whatever are we going to do with you?”

"What the hell were you thinking?"

My voice cracks across the hot ground as I run up to the tan colored mare, my hooves flashing in the sunlight as they crack against the partial rock flooring. Blonde hair streaming behind my neck and tail like a banner, waving in contempt of my herdmate who was so foolish. Provoking the Ice King of the Edge into something like war? Stealing his only, beloved daughter? Was she really this blindly stupid? I could not hardly believe it when I heard the whispers of the steal, and now seeing her standing there with a unicorn filly, I had to believe it.

The mare circled Sno, like some kind of vulture around a corpse. However, should any harm befall that girl, the only corpse within the Throat would be Mesir - I would make sure of that.

Muscles bunching as I slam down on the rock, too frustrated to take to the sky, too angry to focus on flight. The wind curls around my wings, whipping angrily like my emotions that run rampant. Unwittingly, my grasp upon the air was pulling the wind into tight ropes, swirling it around. Magic that I had controlled for years, so natural that it almost flowed with my body. The whistle of the air running past my feathers, the snaps as it broke and changed direction, the speed increasing, increasing still. A violent windstorm that tore up the sand around my hooves and pulled it like a rough edged knife zooming around my body.

Our distance closes, but my speed does not halt. My pathway would bring me to smack into the sand colored side of Mesir, unless she was smart enough to get the hell out of the way. I slam on my hooves, veering to the side, harsh sounds of hoof on stone as I skid to a halt, the wind surrounding me reaching out like claws for the figure of the mare. "Do you want the Edge to invade our home, you stupid bitch?" I yell, my face contorted into a fiery rage of anger as I spit my words out like venom. "Stealing the King's daughter - are you fucking kidding me?"

My blue eyes, dark like obsidian and burning with rage, glare at her from narrowed eyelids. My side heave, exertion catching up to me as I look down at the girl, her figure obviously similar to that of Mauja, despite her young age. I turn to glare back up toward Mesir, my face dangerous.

Snö's icy blue eyes narrowed on the sandy mare that was circling around her like a buzzard. She was far from being a happy filly. While she had no qualms with visiting other lands she did not like that she was forced to go to a desert without her father or anyone else from the Edge. She didn't like it. It was too hot and the frost that covered her cloven hooves had melted and left a quickly dissipating puddle. Even the frost on her horn had melted and dripped down into the dust.

There was a flick of the older mare's tail and her hair errupted into flames. Unfortunately for her ego Snö was too angry to be otherwise impressed or frightened by the sudden fire. She kept a look of indifference on her face. When the mare finally spoke Snö snorted at her. "Why don't you tell me what you're going to do with me, you're the one who stole me you twit." If there was anything she inherited from her mother it was certainly her sharp tongue.

The arrival of a second, winged, mare was enough to strike a little fear into Snö. This mare seemed to be more angry than she felt and she had been the one stolen. Her ears tilted forward and she watched intently as this new mare assaulted the other mare verbally. It made the little filly smile and even laugh quietly.

Snö waited politely for the new mare to finish her rant before she spoke. "Are you gonna let me go home?" she asked. "Or is my dad gonna come to get me?"

My leader gallops towards me, eyes reeling in anger at my little game with Sno. It is too bad really, that she had to find out, and even more of a pity that she does not want to go along with it. I am rather pleased with my cleverness and cunning that helped me steal the Ice King’s daughter. Racist ass deserves is, I say. She is quite a spunky one, as she calls me a twit, thinking it her best insult, when really it was quite sub-par. It is really a shame that this little ice princess does not reside in the Throat, or I think I would take a liking to her. As much as I could take a liking to anyone, that is. Kri the Resolute barrels towards me still, whipping the wind itself around her, looking quite menacing. Still, I was never one to show what I was feeling, and I neatly sidestep her as she comes to a skidding halt right in the place I was standing. My mask is expressionless and my blue eyes continue to dance with mischief. “Thank you for joining us, O Glorious Leader of the Dragon’s Throat herd.” I over exaggerate my bow and swish my tail with glee. I can tell my leader is displeased with me, but then again, there really is no one at all who is ever pleased by me.

Kri continues to barrage me with criticism and I snort impatiently. I do not have time for leaders who think I don’t understand what they are trying to say. “Yeah, yeah I get it. We have to return the fucking Ice Princess. Fine. Thank you for telling this commoner what she already knew, your Majesty.” I knew that my place in the herd would not be jeopardized, judging how I successfully stole the King’s daughter. Though Kri may want strained peace with the Edge for now, this proved that I could always do it again, and that I was a good informant. I know better than to disagree with my own leader, though I knew she would never be the leader that Ra was.

Though I like to tread the line, I always know when I go too far, and here was where I stopped. Kri would decide what to do with Sno, and I would grudgingly go along, like the lowly informant I was. I glare slightly, trying to stay out of Kri’s line of vision, at the white filly, hoping to keep up my intimidating presence but feeling like I actually liked this little ice filly. She had a personality similar to my own, and I appreciated snarkiness. I shifted closer to Sno, and whispered quietly, “Nice job with the twit business. I like to go with something a bit angrier like impertinent twit, or since you are the king’s daughter, lowly twit. You’ll get there though, you have the heart.” I smirk at the young girl, and look back to my leader, waiting for her to give command.

Her sarcasm, rolling off her tongue in such an impudent manner, makes my eyes narrow all the more. A tongue of wind reaches out from around me, my mind directing it toward her cheek for a quick, jutting motion, much like a slap. "Watch your step, Mesir. I allowed you to remain in the Throat after your herd rolled over for us like a useless cur out of kindness, but my kindness is running thin." My eyes glare at her like blue flames, angry but more annoyed than anything. With a rush of air, I allow the wind to return to its normal path, even as it whips past our gathering quickly.

Every word that Mesir lays out for me is like a strike against her being here, as if the current issue was not enough to land her outside on her rear. Her attitude was absolutely insufferable, and I quickly turn my anger on low as I try to keep myself from physically attacking her in front of Sno, who stands patiently while we swap poison words back and forth. I try to keep as much composure as I can muster, though the anger seems to reside still in my eyes and muscles.

Perhaps I was acting high and mighty, but I think in this situation, pulling my rank was necessary.

The filly begins to speak calmly, albeit probably a tad annoyed, but my eyes fall on her softly. "I will be taking you home," my voice answers with authority, even as a sideways glance toward Mesir burns with a light that almost dares her to challenge me on that. I see the buckskin mare's eyes upon me, and I almost scoff in disgust. Still, I said I would retain my composure, so I guess I have to. "Try to resist stealing from the Edge while I'm gone."

This new land was definitely a lot different from the World's Edge. In the Edge no one would dare speak to her father in the disrespectful tone that Mesir was using with her leader. The filly's snorted her distaste for it and glared at Mesir. The stupid mare wouldn't be getting her ass chewed if she wouldn't have been stupid and stole a princess in the first place. Snö stood and watched hoping that Kri would strike down the disrespectful mare. There was simply a shift in the wind, but other than that Kri stood stone still. It was quite disappointing to Snö.

"Thank you." Snö replied when Kri confirmed that she would be taking her home. Her ears were again pressed flat against her head when Mesir turned to her and began to speak. Her dislike of the mare only increased when she began instructing her on how to make an insult. She knew very well how to insult others. It was one of the things her mother was good at teaching. "Does impudent bitch strike your fancy?" The young filly asked, her voice icy. Her father would certainly be shocked at her language, but she didn't care. She was angry at being stolen by a dirty equine and brought into a desert that she didn't belong in.

Snö turned away from Mesir and looked up at Kri. "I'm ready." She informed the pegasus before turning in the direction of her home.

I sigh. There will just always be the ones who never understand her ways. She surely will never understand why Kri is letting Sno go, when she hates Mauja as much as she does. This is a perfect opportunity to make him sweat, and yet she is throwing it away. All of my hard, precise, and perfect work gone to waste to just simply return the girl to her father like nothing ever happened. It was too bad that my attempt to steal the ice king himself had failed miserably. It would have been grand to see the look in his eyes when he realized he had been thwarted, outsmarted, and all by what he thought a lowly equine in a herd of skyrats. The day will come, I just know it. If there is anything more that I want in life, than to screw with the politics of the herds in Helovia, then I have no idea what it would be.

The little bitch calls me impudent. Oh, yes, I understand she said bitch, but being called simply what I am has no effect on me. I understand how much of a bitch I am, but there is no way I am impudent. Still, the girl is young and has much to learn, starting with not trusting the pegasus bitch, Kri. Sno is blind if she doesn’t realize that the Dragon’s Throat leader deeply despises her father, just about as much as…well anybody who isn’t a unicorn. They plan to return Sno to her father in the World’s Edge. Fine. All of that time I put into kidnapping the bitch is irrelevant now, thank you My Holy Bitch. I snort and flick my man in annoyance. “Whatever you’d like to do, Kri. If you’d like to waste my present to you, all I can do is stand and watch, like the lowly mare I am.” I make a frowny face at the winged mare, my eyes remaining buckets of cool, blue water. There is nothing I can do from this point. I must watch and wait.
