Parelia
I've gotta fight today, To live another day, Speakin' my mind today

The day was amazingly cool a reprieve from the scorching heat that had recently plagued the land. Her large cream and teal wings pumped the air occasionally to keep her aloft. She smiled as her shining light brown eyes scanned the ground below her. As the beautiful lake came into view she lowered herself down towards the smooth crystal clear water letting her cannon bones slowly dip into and drag in the water. Smiling she flew the length of the lake before flying straight up. Flapping her falcon like wings swiftly to carry her higher her adrenaline increased rapidly making her reckless. Once she was just about even with the clouds she paused looking below her towards the stunning scenery. Her bright eyes seemed to devour the romantic land before her.

As her attention wondered to love and romance, thanks to the long sweeping branches and the fading red and yellow sunset, she started to think back to an old conversation. Ever since she had turned three two seasons ago her body had seemed to be a ticking bomb of hormones. She had asked an older mare what she was experiencing; the answer and shaken her. After being used and abused for so long she was scared that her body wanted another like this. She shook her head agitated before embracing her pounding heart and thrill of flying. Turning her attention towards the lake she aimed her body straight down flapping towards the clear water before tucking her wings to her sides pulling them in tight allowing herself to speed towards the water. This was a test of her nerves and strength, and she loved the challenge. Speeding straight down like an arrow she watched the smooth glass like lake rapidly approaching. She waited till the last second and threw her wings out wide tilting them to slow and stop her decent. She stopped, her rear legs cannon bone deep in the water, and hovered breathing heavily basking in her wings power.

Silk wandered through the trees, enjoying the light that streamed down through the canopy. It was soft and gentle, without a single harsh ray slipping in. At first he had been confused as to where he was - there were so many trees around he was sure that they were all just the same place. But as he'd kept walking he realized he had found a new area, and a smirk had crossed his velvety lips as he realized exactly what this area's purpose was. Whatever it was called, it was an area for sex. Reproducing, lovemaking, fucking - whatever you want to call it. His own hormones seemed to have kicked into gear when he had stumbled upon a coupling and had to narrowly avoid interrupting the scene. Not that he had any plans for a family, but a romp sounded lovely.

However, he wasn't so comfortable in this new land, Helovia, just yet. He'd have to wine and dine the fine ladies before he had his way. Tedious, which was why he'd keep his fancies to himself for now. No need to startle the darlings away. At least not that way! He had chortled to himself.

He heard birds up ahead, and continued onward toward a growing light. It seemed he was approaching a water source. As Silk neared it, he saw that there was a clear, still pool in front of him. Or rather, it would have been still except for the pegasus frisking about in the air and in the water. His dark red eyes gleamed with amusement as he watched her zoom through the air, testing her agility and strength. The snow and teal feather fluttered in a soft breeze that picked up, and he wondered now why she remained hovering, instead of lowering herself fully into the water.

What's wrong, princess? Water too cold for a bath? He called out to her as he reached the bank.

He snickered quietly to himself and shook out his flaxen mane, stretching a little as he opened his great leather wings wide. After walking through the trees, some of them rather closely knit, it felt good to stretch out his extra appendages.

Take a bow, take the blame, soon you'll wake up screaming your nightmare's name...
It was just a stone's throw from the ocean, that copse of sunlight and urges, drives—a stone's throw, a mile's walk, three days, years, it all depended on what you measured it in. Memories? Time? Distance? He didn't know the distance it held for him, only that suddenly he was there, having left the silver beach and the denim ocean. Sparse trees had grown thicker, but the air no darker, and on that particular day it filtered down through the branches. Dust motes danced in the peaceful air, aglow with the golden light, and the crisp outline of red leaves made a stark, but beautiful, contrast against the blue sky and its cotton-candy clouds.

This place, it held mixed memories, and Mauja paused where he was, and breathed in. Psyche, that one time. Lotus, another. And then, dreams. Everything felt like dreams, and not only the ones that had been. Everything up until the point Sarazheha had found him, and taken him so far away, felt like a dream, the life of someone else. "It's still me," he reminded himself in a hushed breath, blood spiked with ice to keep his cool. He'd never known how to act around mares, least of all when they sent his testosterone surging. Better to try and not let that happen at all, and in this place, where the scents hung so heavy in the air, he wanted to take precautions. Not for them, not for accidents, but for himself, for his own peace of mind.

He'd heard soldiers in the hird, long ago, speak of how stress and battle can change you, cripple your mind and your body, how it could make something before seem unreal in the after. Was that true of him? Was that true of life? He felt more like a ghost than he had even when he'd been one, and exhaled into the soft sunlight. No matter. With a shrug of his snowy shoulders, Mauja extended one leg, and kept going, weaving through the trunks and the weeping willow branches. There were others here, some noisy, some quiet, and most he avoided, for natural reasons.

Slowly, the heart of the grove, the lake, opened up, hints of blue between the trees. Someone was out there, a splashing noise, the thud of wings beating, something so much larger than his owl. And she was off somewhere else, anyway. Cautiously Mauja slipped through the trees, came out onto the narrow grassy bank. Not too far out a Pegasus hovered, hind feet in the water and wings keeping her aloft, in the same place—an admirable display of strength, if nothing else. "What's wrong, princess? Water too cold for a bath?" Blue eyes left the mare, and swept onto the other shore; a stallion, tall by the looks of it, stood there, all black and silvery white of hair, great leathery wings stretching from his sides. Mauja's eyes narrowed slightly, heart beating distrust, but he said nothing. Simply watched.

Parelia sighed happy eyes roaming over the ripples following one to the shore, where her she received a shock. On the edge of the trees stood a looming black stallion and her eyes slowly moved over his white mane and tail. For some reason a devious smile came upon her face. His voice only made her smile grow into a smirk. “Of course not sweetheart, I just prefer not to be spied.” Her voice was overly sweet in a sarcastic manner. She watched his large leathery wings spread wide with sharp curious eyes. Pumping her wings slightly to lift herself from the water she propelled herself upwards out of the water. As the soft breeze blew around her the smell of another wafted towards her sensitive nostrils and she inhaled deeply drawing in the scent.

Her large falcon like wings propelled her upwards so she could see around herself more easily. Her eyes then fell on a spotted white unicorn. She rook another deep breath through her muzzle identifying the scent of another stallion. She let her eyes fall on the snowy stallion then back towards the black male. ‘Hmm this could be interesting.’ She thought as she let herself gracefully move towards the ground. She landed softly on the shore neither closer to the black leathered Pegasus or the snowy speckled unicorn. She let her warm voice fall gently but loudly into the still air, “I am Parelia it is nice to meet you both.” She let her azure gaze fall on both of them followed up by a warm smile.

A breeze passed by, and suddenly Silk could pick up a new scent wafting through the air. His nostrils instantly identified the scent of another stallion, and as he twisted his neck to look at newcomer his ears turned back and his silvery tail twitched. Silk was annoyed at the aggressive feeling that rose inside him, the need to eliminate a threat. But it was an instinct. Though he harbored no ill will toward the stallion, with the testosterone pulsing through his system he couldn't help the automatic response. Tone it down, you're not seeking any bitches right now. He grunted and stabbed a hind hoof into the soft dirt that surrounded the pond.

Silk turned his attention back to the vixen hovering in the air, then watched her lift herself upward and give a saucy reply back to him. He chuckled and let his lip curl in a sneer. No need to be prudish. He spoke under his breath, quiet enough that only a very good set of ears would be able to hear him.

The lady flew toward them both, landing gently between them and introduced herself. The stallion that he had glanced, a handsome, spotted gray unicorn, had remained silent. Apparently that beast didn't want to start anything either. The aggression inside Silk faded and he cocked his head with a small, thin smile as he tucked his wings in against his sides and walked toward the two of them, twitching his tail slightly back and forth.

Take a bow, take the blame, soon you'll wake up screaming your nightmare's name...
He wasn't sure if he'd walked in on something—or rather, the prelude to something. The other stallion's vaguely provocative statement, and the mare's reply, they went hand in hand, toeing the line of daring and flirtatious. It was a game he had no idea how to play, nor any intention to, and if it wasn't for the fact he'd already stumbled upon them (not that they were, in any way, physically close) he probably would've taken his wandering feet elsewhere. As it was, he felt trapped upon the shore, watching the pale mare rise up towards the clouds. He was so used to watching Irma in flight, to see her graceful twisting and turning, but it was not often that he'd seen a Pegasus showing off. A horse, no matter which way you looked at it, would always be larger and heavier than a bird, and to see such a thing fly in the same way, with a predator's easy grace... She rose high enough to survey the scene, and Mauja's blue eyes trailed her flight in silence. He had no desire to sort through his thoughts, or label them. For now, they were better left untouched.

She came down again, and Irma's curious, detached envy washed through his mind. It brought an almost sour half-smile to his face. I'm just.. surprised, I guess. I've only seen them when they go somewhere, or just landing or taking off; never this kind of.. air-play. His explanation satisfied her, at least, for she returned to her fruitless day-time hunt. And, he secretly thought it was best that way: if she started catching things in daylight, she'd get too fat to fly soon. His eyes returned to Parelia as she touched down, feather-light and elegant.

Had he become an unwitting piece upon her game board? The distance between the three of them seemed so finely measured, her gaze so.. calculating, almost. Mauja shifted slightly, the knot in his gut tightening. He didn't want to be part of this—of that. He was tired of being played, of wondering what he wanted and what his body wanted, and what he wanted to want and what he really wanted. “I am Parelia it is nice to meet you both.” At that, the black stallion folded his wings and began to come closer, but he said nothing. Mauja remained motionless a moment longer, before heaving a quiet sigh. Either he turned away now, or he'd follow suit and go closer. Both options left a sour taste in his mouth. The former, because it wasn't in his nature to just walk away (he was simply too curious about everything), and the latter, because.. well... If they were going to play, he didn't want to.

In the end, his curiosity, and sense of social courtesy, won out. His frosted hooves left their safe berth and wandered out onto unknown territory, following the grassy shore towards the center point: Parelia. It felt like each step led towards certain doom, but then again.. everything felt like that these days. Breathe in. Breathe out. He carried himself neutrally, the natural grace of his bloodlines evident, and at what he deemed a suitable distance—three or so yards—he halted. "Pleasure's mine, Parelia, sir. I am Mauja," he said, ears flickering forward as his eyes slid past the mare and onto the stallion again, silently prompting him to join in their greeting—or get a lesson in etiquette.

Parelia herd the stallion mutter something but she couldn’t catch the words. Her delicate ears twitched back agitated by what must have been an asshole reply. She swished her tail shooing off a fly as she watched him walk her way. Her friendly smile fell upon the graceful unicorn as he approached her in turn. His warm voice filled her ears and she smiled dipping her head towards him respectfully, enjoying the gentlemanly way he addressed her. Turning her gaze from Mauja back to the unknown Pegasus her smile hardened, if only slightly. She did not like that he had held his tongue and not introduced himself. In her mind it was rude and suspicious that he had not made his own name clear.

She caught Mauja’s gaze directed towards the black stallion, and cast a glance between them. She thought striking up a conversation might help ease the prickling tension she could almost taste. Her warm voice swam through the cool air towards them, “I was just out enjoying the cool sunny day testing my wings out.” She smiled trying to be friendly wasn’t all that easy if neither your company doesn’t seem all that happy to be around you. Her ears shifted slightly sideways then back up angling one at each stallion to catch any mumbled words; even though she had a feeling Mauja would be very unlikely to mumble. Her voice wafted away from her dainty muzzle once more, “May I ask what you two are up to out here?” Her bright eyes fell one both of the stallions taking in their expressions searching for unspoken words.

Parelia and now Mauja. Silk bent his neck and bit at a twitch on the front of his muscular shoulder. A manifestation of his mild irritation that his name seemed to not fit in with theirs. Ending in the same vowel and being one word each. Guess I'm going to have to settle with being that special one, he chuckled inside his mind. Stupid things to worry about and yet they fluttered around his mind like butterflies.

Silk walked toward them and stopped a few feet away. It seemed the population here was very focused on manners. It was something he had never catered to or followed, this etiquette. The tension between the three of them rose as Silk maintained his silence. He shook his mane, like a shrug, and opened his maw to respond. He was late to Parelia's question about his name, but better late than never, hm?

I am called Satanic Silk.

The unicorn that faced him now was a handsome fellow, but in spite of his good manners seemed to be carrying a lot of tension in his frame. Silk crooked an ear in the other beast's direction. He needs to loosen up and enjoy his life a little. He looked at the cream and beige mare. The teal that was layered throughout her feathery wings caught his eye and he stared at it for a moment before returning her gaze.

I wander the path my hooves take me on, m'lady. He let the slight sarcasm lace his words and a small smirk crept into the corners of his mouth, barely discernible in the shadows of the trees. Nothing wrong with following the sights and sounds of a beautiful Orangemoon day, hm? His gaze turned to Mauja, wondering if that was how the stallion had also stumbled upon the twirling pegasus.

Take a bow, take the blame, soon you'll wake up screaming your nightmare's name...
In some way, he felt like he didn't belong, not just here, but in Helovia at all. The world was so green, and he was so white, and everything he'd ever been, everything he'd built, had crumbled to the ground. He'd been a shooting star, rising against the odds, but they'd torn him down, and here he was—a ghost, trying to fit back in the pace of life. Why had he even come back? Maybe he could've faced the guilt and the shame back home when the truth came out, and carved out a place for himself, far from all of this. Sarazheha would've kept him safe.

But I didn't belong there either.

How do you pick up the pieces of a life, when you didn't even know where they were? Or if you, were still you? His eyes had once been arcane, mysterious and keen but betraying nothing; now, they just seemed soft and sad, his pose slowly losing its edge to defeat. More and more he was coming to realize that he was empty inside, apathetic. There'd been times in the past when his anger should've flared, burned bright and hot, and sometimes it had—but it always went out as quickly, and now, his emotions were pulling back again. The dark stallion finally introduced himself, and only a vague disappointment stirred in him, that he was robbed of the final vestige of emotion he had upon that day (namely, mild irritation at the lack of manners). In the back of his mind, Irma sighed at him, but let him be. Almost mechanically, his eyes and ears swept towards Parelia as she took over the conversation again. She was obviously trying to get them talking, but Mauja felt dumb, and numb. Words had abandoned him, together with today's hope-crushing insight that he had no bloody idea what he was doing, or why he was alive, or back. He felt like someone had reached inside and stolen his soul through his mouth, leaving his throat raw and parched.

Stolen all his words, too. He couldn't, for the life of him, recall how to do small talk. Even his appreciation for the beauty of one of nature's creations had faded, as he finally admitted to himself: I am exhausted. He blinked, slowly, trying to process Parelia's words, her question, Silk's response, and somehow fit it into the social constructs he knew.. and sought for the correct response, an explanation, something that wasn't just dumbly staring at them. As if through fog he became aware of the other stallion watching him, and realized his gaze had gone blurry. He blinked again, this time rapidly, and the world came back into focus. "I was just wandering," he said quietly, 'brows drawing together in slight consternation. This wasn't right. Much as it was a relief that the riot in his mind had gone silent, it was also incredibly..disturbing. The skin on his withers twitched, but though he searched his soul for some explanation, maybe something else to say, he found nothing, and remained silent.

[ don't worry Parelia, your posts are fine! xP besides, I ramble a helluvalot myself and Mauja is being quite err weird right now, so, s'fine ^^ ]

Parelia’s bright brown eyes scanned between the two stallions in front of her. She watched them curiously, she was having a hard time figuring out why they were so silent. She hadn’t really come across anyone yet that was quiet and didn’t make any facial expressions. Her orbs roved slowly over the much taller white spotted stallion. He was very handsome; graceful and muscular. She smiled gently at him her eyes warm and encouraging as she gazed into his stunning blue orbs. She watched him for a while shamelessly, ‘Why should I hide my gaze? It would be creepier to try to hide it.’ She blinked calmly at him before turning her attention back to the black and red painted stallion

He too was tall, but not quite as tall as Mauja. He was of a lighter build, but still heavily muscled. ‘What an odd name.’ She thought to herself also sparing him a soft smile. She nodded at his response to her question, “Wondering can be good for you, but it can also be dangerous.” She once nodded slightly a shadow of slight unease clouding her face for a moment; before she pushed the feel away not wanting to think about her heart wrenching encounter with Oxy.

Her long cream and teal streaked tail flicked absently trying to smack the twitching skin on her ribs. She tilted her ears towards Mauja awaiting his reply. Her eyes caught the tension he was carrying this time and her eyes softened instantly, some called her a bleeding heart, and maybe she was. She didn’t care what they said, the ones who had felt little to no torment, or in some cases to hurt. She cocked her head slightly and ruffled her large glorious wings. His face contradicted his words and she doubted seriously that is what his heart had really had in store for himself. She would keep quite for now and see where this went, 'What an odd day.'

satanic silk

Down, down, down into the rabbit hole. As Mauja had wandered and Silk had wandered, so now did his mind wander down the hole. The dirt tube that led into the Earth. It ran away as the conversation grew stale before him. His bloody orbs glazed over and he leaned back on a hind leg, resting the other. Mauja did not seem engaged and seemed very wrapped up in his own life story. Silk thought to himself that he was idly curious what this stallion might be holding back, deep inside his thorax. Through the roots and bugs that crawled through the holes that had been dug. He would not surface for air. The worms that crawled, the larvae that squirmed. A silly girl's remarks grazed his earlobes and his long lobes twitched, but his orbs remained glazed over and his mind was still absent. As absent as the spotted unicorn who clearly was also gone. The mare seemed uncomfortable with the silence, as if she didn't know what to do or say. He couldn't blame her, the silence was heavy and seemed to be nearly tangible. He wondered if he blew out through is soft lips or nares, if he'd be able to see the change in the air. So he did - he blew out through his nares in a soft snort, and suddenly he was in motion. His mind still in the rabbit hole, conversing now with the mice and groundhogs that he stumbled upon, still having not sighted the occupants. His hooves took him around the mare, and he spread his wings, dragging one claw gently over her pale skin as he murmured. What do you know of danger, little girl? Imagination is the gateway to a beautiful life. He smirked and stopped as he finished circling her, stepping a few paces away now from them both and he glanced at Mauja to see what the stallion might think. The spotted one would probably have little to say, but everyone deserves a chance to speak, whether they take it or not. The rabbit hole occupants now found him and welcomed him in to their home. Long ears and furry bodies with paws soft and so clean in spite of the dirt. A burrow that allowed for his mind to expand and the rabbits smiled and invited him for tea. A tea party. That would be lovely.

He could hear his heart too clearly, a steady rhythm pulsing through his ears. The din in his mind had finally died down, the storm howling past to leave the lake's surface glassy smooth and clear—but there was no sun shining, only a lingering veil of drab clouds and thin fog. Despite the glorious day, the vibrant green and startling blue, and the warm sunlight filtering down through the slowly yellowing willow leaves, the world seemed gray to him, robbed of its life and glory. Even the scents seemed muted out somehow. Blinking slowly Mauja raised his head to look at them; the lively mare seemed subdued, too. Maybe it was the company's fault. Mauja was hardly at his best, and the other, well, he seemed quite a beast, somewhere halfway between disinterested and.. disturbing.

“Wondering can be good for you, but it can also be dangerous.” Doesn't that depend on where you wander, though? "What do you know of danger, little girl? Imagination is the gateway to a beautiful life." Leathery wings unfolded with a sound reminiscent of dragon wings, stretched out as the black stallion hoofed his way around the bright Parelia. Mauja's eyes followed him, mostly because he moved, then narrowed slightly. He didn't quite like the way this was going. The way he was acting. The way he'd acted before, too. Even through the apathy he felt his mind stir; something about that kind of behavior always rubbed him the wrong way. He wasn't sure what it was, the implication of male superiority or the female inferiority.. or if it simply was assuming, and rude. His white ears flicked back, into his thick mane. He'd love to see him get a kick in the face from Parelia.

"Play with fire and you get burned," Mauja warned in a tired rumble, blue eyes still narrowed. The world was mad and dangerous enough as it was; did you really have to go seek it out? It'd come around and bite you in the ass sooner or later anyway. Better be happy and safe for as long as you could. Maybe then you won't die when the wolves come around.

He seemed young, though, younger than Mauja.
And after all, what do the young know of wolves?
You thought you were invincible.

But you always learned the hard way that you weren't.

[ in case you go "huh are you dumb?" at me, the part about storm/clouds/fog is just Mauja's mental landscape, and not anything physically happening xP ]

Parelia was starting to grow bored of the two stallions. For the most part the cremello paint hated silence and she was not in the mood for it at all. She stomped her hoof irritated at the lack of conversation or even anything interesting going on between the three of them. Her wings fluttered lightly at her sides as she turned to look at the leather winged stallion, Satanic Silk. His sudden snort and movement made her head fly up ears swiveling towards the her skull ready to defend herself if need be. Her skin twitched and crawled feeling dirty where the claw on his wing was touching her. Her teeth and eyes flashed dangerously as her ears lay flat against her skull. Anger, not fear shinning in her honey covered orbs. Her voice was dripping with poorly suppressed malice, "If you would open your eyes you would notice my scars, and would answer your own ignorant question." She spat the last two words

She couldn't control her anger any longer, as she ducked her head twisting on her front legs. Her head now facing Mauja as her rear legs struck out viciously towards the cocky, creepy bastard, hoping to connect with his jaw.Her legs landed with a snort from her delicate muzzle. 'That'll teach him.' She thought satisfied, even if she didn't hit him it might at least make him rethink touching her without an invitation. She had been used to long as a stallion's toy and it would not happen again, unless he killed her first. She took a few steps towards the white spotted Mauja before pivoting around more at his side now than between them. She did not expect what he said next, or for him to take her side at all. His words made her blood hum through her veins with confidence. She flashed a grateful smile towards the unicorn before turning her still flashing eyes back towards Satanic Silk.

He was in the middle of smirking at the cremello babe when she sent a withering comment his way. At least, it was supposed to be a withering comment. He cocked his head sideways, not caring much at the point she made. He hadn't noticed the scars on her, sure, which indicated she did have a small history with some sort of danger. Mentally he shrugs - he didn't care that he missed these details. At the moment he did not much care for this lady anyway.

Apparently at the moment she did not care for him much either. She turned her hindquarters toward him and flung a vicious kick his way. He backed but underestimated her reach and found her hoof connecting with his jaw. He grunted and stepped back, a small throbbing in his jaw, and he guessed that he had a cut and a small bruise growing. He huffed, ears flat against his skull. Well that was extremely rude. His eyes glowed gently, annoyance filling them. Parelia took refuge near Mauja.

Silk kind of liked the spotted stallion, and had no desire to bring him into this. Though there was clearly a lot on the beast's mind, he seemed harmless enough. Silk though that it would be nice to leave him out of this scuffle. But Parelia... that was different story. Oh, that's how you want it? He muttered quietly, and launched at her, teeth bared. He went for her shoulder, hoping to draw blood. He didn't want any war between the two of them, but he would not ignore her jab at him. Before she could offer retaliation, Silk pulled back, separating himself from the the pair. He left his ears pinned, and his head high, silver mane cascading down his neck.

Oh, really.

Here he was, perfectly fine minding his own business like a zombie in their midst, and they had to start fighting. With a sense of hopelessness and detached despair Mauja listened as Parelia first took a vocal bite out of Silk, and then spun her ass in his direction—but probably not the way the black stallion had been hoping for. Instead of "offering herself up" (he really had no desire to think in crude terms today) she launched a vicious kick, which had Mauja smiling humorlessly. At least she didn't need a knight in shining armor, so technically, he was pretty useless at the moment. Not that he minded, really; he felt far too dumb to fight anyone right now, mind and nerves like slow-seeping sludge. He'd just sort of.. entered the fog, and was quite content to stay there. He wasn't making any keen observations, but did he have to? Couldn't he just..stand here a while?

He wasn't sure if she'd hit Silk or not; he'd backed up pretty rapidly, avoiding to trap over his spindly legs and falling on his face in shame. Mauja blinked, rapidly a few times, trying to clear his mind. If they were determined to keep going at it, stray hooves could come flying near his head, and he'd very much like to keep his skull intact, thankyouvermuch. Parelia seemed content with just having kicked once, though; she came to stand by him, smiling as he told Silk off in his cryptic way. Well, she could handle herself. He'd just..stand here..like back-up. Moral support. Yeah. Right. He gave his head a slight shake, one black-rimmed ear twitching. Didn't sound like Silk was pleased with getting a smack on the nose, though, and Mauja opened his mouth, preparing to tell him off, when he charged instead.

Idiot. Was it pride that drove him to retaliate? Or did he have some incredibly weird fetish Mauja wanted no part whatsoever in? Why couldn't he just..walk away? Parelia wasn't interested, at least not if you were a rude asshat; how hard was that to understand, and respect? But, no. The dark stallion lashed out like a viper, teeth going for Parelia's shoulder—fortunately, not on Mauja's side, or he might've had a thing or two to say about that face coming too close to his own self. Just as quickly the lithe thing bounded back, glaring at them angrily. "Knock it off," Mauja growled, to both of them; he wouldn't restrain Parelia if she wanted a final go at the black stallion, but he wouldn't encourage her either. In fact, if they were both determined to have a bloody party, he'd either walk away or shove them both in the pond.

Parelia was not really in a fighting mood, but she would take care of herself if the need arose, and it had. She would not be used again or taken advantage of again. She feels a sick thrill as her hoof connects with the black leathery stallion's jaw before standing next to Mauja. She cast a sidelong glance at Mauja, as if apologizing for fighting. As her hard eyes fall on the mark she left they soften if only for a moment, 'No he deserves to be put in his place, if at least once in his life.' Her honey brown eyes gaze at him calculating. She would have bet her left wing that he would retaliate, and she would have won. As his words alert her to his motive. His flashing teeth do not startle her and she braces for the attack. 'I'll show him how strong a little mare can be.' The sound reminds her of a berry being nibbled on, but the pain drives that from her mind. Just a flash of sharp pain, then a steady throbbing. She embraces the pain her head still held high her eyes bright, hiding the annoying pain from his now bleeding bite mark. her long cremello and teal tail flick in agitation. She can't help the grim smile that covers her face as she notices his pinned ears.

The black spotted male's words sting like a whip. Instead of a welt rising to mark the place she was struck, anger jumps to the surface. "I.." She stops pulling herself up short, 'No he hasn't done anything, I'm just made at ignorant over there.' She turns her eyes on to Mauja searching his face for something, but comes up empty handed. Her voice was steely as she turned her gaze back to Satanic Silk, "I agree with Mauja, if you're here to fight you can leave." Stepping away from Mauja she spread her large feathering wings preparing for flight. "If you wish to fight and do not leave, I will. I did not come here to argue or spar, I came to enjoy the day." Her voice ended on a curt almost stinging tone.

Silk grunted and pinned his ears back. His flaxen mane hung sloppily over his face and looked shaggy. His jaw was sore. It wasn't a life-ending injury as some jaw injuries could be. He could talk, he could drink, he could eat. But it was still sore and found himself a little disgruntled about it. Dumb mare. He grunted again. He could taste her blood on his lips, and found it very satisfactory. He enjoyed the metallic taste, and didn't bother to lick or wipe the blood from his velvets. They each had a small, inconsequential wound, and were both angry. Nothing had been gained from this exchange, but that's how life and tempers worked.

Suitably, Mauja was not taking sides, and seemed mildly irritated with each of them for acting like children. And they were acting like children. Silk thought Parelia to be rather childish, and he had certainly shown his childish, temperamental side. He was tempted to shout, "She started it!" but resisted, knowing how horrific that would be. Mauja's scolding was simple, and though part of him resented it, Silk knew that he deserved it and said nothing, leaving the unicorn in peace.

Parelia seemed to have read Mauja's mind, though, and it seemed neither of them wanted to be around for the fighting. Says the bitch that started fighting. Silk found the anger within him bubbling up, and his eyes grew brighter, redder, as if they had a certain glow to them. He resisted saying anything. Silk bared his teeth at the bleeding cremello. He'd take her on another day. So be it. The zombie unicorn and the pissy mare were poor company, and he spread his wings and with one.. two flaps of his massive wings he was up in the air and off into the distance. He didn't have much to do, but anything was better than hanging around here any longer.

The quick bite brought the scent of blood into the air, a metallic taste in his mouth, an iron tang in his nose. Damn, he must've bit hard to break the skin so thoroughly—and at least it meant his jaw wasn't broken. They'd both survive, then, and maybe they'd learn something from their violent encounter. Or, the bitterness would just simmer and fester, spiral them deeper into hell; which mostly just applied to Silk. Parelia had simply defended herself against unwanted attention, much to Mauja's amusement, but prolonging the fight wasn't his idea of how to deal with the aftermath. It almost seemed like she wanted to, though. His voice had her turning to him, starting to say something but cutting herself short, changing her mind. He regarded her impassively, simply waiting to see what she would do. In the end, it seemed she decided to not retaliate. Instead she stepped away from him, the rustle of feathers touching his ears as she opened her wings. Well, wasn't that interesting. Somehow, he found himself wishing they'd both just take off and leave him to his apathy.

One of them did, though. Silk made an ugly face at Parelia before taking off, the wind of his wing-beats rustling Mauja's long mane. Graceful, yet ominous, the stallion disappeared into the sky, over the trees, going to some other place. Mauja didn't miss him. Silently he looked back to the mare. What now..? He felt dumb, and not particularly sociable, like someone had put a sack over his head and stilled his thoughts. He didn't particularly want to be around anyone, even if she was the more decent half of the company. Sighing, he gave his head a slight shake. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Parelia," he told her amiably enough, blue eyes some strange mixture between soft and depth-dead; flat. "Have a good day." And without further ado, Mauja began to walk away into the forest.

[ Up to you if Parelia will try to stop him or not. :P ]
