Azzuen

He flew. Azzuen was a vigilant stallion. Having entered these lands as
a Warrior, he now stood before them, to fight against them. The
current leader of the lands was a wraith, invisible and held little
influence over who came and who went. It was easy for the charred
stallion to simply speak with Onni and gain entrance, and watch over
his beloved mate and ally. But now, he flew, towards the plains.
Flatter terrain meant for easier footing – for a steed who spent most
of his time in the air, and likely to be pinned against an opponent
restricted to the ground, he had to give himself as much advantage as
possible, and even footing, whilst giving his opponent an advantage,
would make it easier to plan ground-level attacks. The broad space
meant hot thermals would rise freely from the ground, the afternoon
sun that warmed the earth filled his wings with the tepid air. He
landed smoothly, his gait showing no signs of ill health.
He was a warrior in peak condition, ready to fight for what he
believed in. Thoughts of Cass and his child were present, though not
distractingly so, simply providing him with a solid reason to stand
and stake his claim on this part of Helovia. His baritone trumpet sung
out, his call echoing far and wide.
“Who will fight me?”
