Gabriel

After the Great Blackout of Isilme, the young stallion had become
separated from his family. Alone, and barely able to be on his own
Gabe had wandered. He was eventually taken in by a herd who had just
lost a colt to a rival unicorn herd. Gabe was taught to hate those
with twigs upon their heads and wings at their sides. It was
un..natural for such things to be that way. However the older he
became, the more he needed to know what happened to his siblings.

Aderes and Solstice, his older siblings had raised him after their
mother had died. Most said she had passed of a broken heart. Gabriel
would have to agree. Even the presence of a new son couldn't keep her
here. The buckskin dun had tried to find Isilme..... well... what was
left of it. No sooner than he entered the Gateway, three shadow
figured met him and ran at him. Gabe had turned and run, surprised by
the hate they seemed to have now in death. The stallion he had not
know, but the other two were his eldest sister Bella and his own
mother Amani Leila. He ran until the lands seemed to change and he
recognized a scent. Solstice. She had come this way. He set off,
determind to find her.

Sanandi

Escape. Flee. Such simple words, yet hard to put into effect when one
wasn't trusted. When one was watched with eagle eyes and predatory
thoughts. The mare was weary, clear through to her bones and it was
with a heavy sigh that she looked for a decent place to land. She
would need sleep and nourishment before taking to the skies once more,
assuming the winds were even safe. So often they weren't, or others of
her kind were out looking for her. Cursed by her slate dappled hide,
she was neither true Black, like her father nor White. She was impure,
not only in color but in heritage and for such a curse she was forced
to serve. To toil away in the most menial tasks imagined. Never
trusted. Never loved. Not since she was a filly, anyways.

With her swift decent Sanadi noticed the other horse, but was too
tired and too far into her landing to abort. She landed several feet
away, her hooves kicking up snow as she stumbled for a moment, her
head fuzzy and her legs numb from being too long in the air. There was
a sheen of sweat to her hide, a weary exhaustion in her velvet brown
eyes as she moved to the side, looking for food. The lands seemed
covered in snow. Should she speak? Should she ask this stallion if he
knew where she was? He didn't have wings. How odd. He didn't even seem
to have scars from where wings might have been removed. She eyeballed
him up, but caution and fear prevented her from speaking.

Ra the Sun Emissary

They came upon Ra rather expectantly. He'd been spending many of his
daylight hours in these trees, brushing past their trunks and nibbling
at what poor shoots of grass or buds he could find. It seemed the
refugees from Isilme had either all arrived, or perished in their
prior land. The time of surplus foreigners to tempt to his religion
and his land had ended, and more and more Ra spent the days alone. It
was a bad thing, for it let his mind wander away from the face of the
sun and to that of the moon.

Just as he was shaking such silvery thoughts from his head, his ears
twitched at commotion of Gabriel running and Sanadi landing. Twigs
crackled under the stallion's hammering hoofsteps, while wingbeats
cupped the air and gave a muffled cry of arrival. Had he been further
away he was sure he would have missed them entirely. Curious, Ra
leaned through the thickets, blue eyes breaking through emerald and
white brush to find the magnificently golden stud (albeit his mane and
tail color could use improving), and the splendid platinum mare. For a
moment his eyes held her and his breath threatened to sigh with
desire, but quickly he remembered his place, his promise, and with
gritted teeth burst from the trees. His anger flared at the sterling
pegasus, annoyed at her for reasons she'd never fathom.

"Don't just stand there gawking like an idiot," he growled, his tones
reminiscent of the lion form he could take, giving his equine frame an
odd, feline accent. He snorted disapproval, crown glinting in the
forest light as he exaggerated his head movement to throw his gaze to
the side, at Gabriel. "I assume it's you I heard running." The sweat
lining him was likely a good indication, but Ra was just talking to
lead into the real words. "I'll take a guess it's Isilme you've come
from, isn't it?" His eyes give a knowing gleam amidst their blue, and
his nose twitches the whiskers on his lips. Has he got your attention,
yellow stud?

Sanadi
March 22nd, 2012 at 3:58pm

She had just arrived, and already harsh words were spat in her
direction. Yet, it was no the stranger she'd found that spoke them.
There was another male, this one a creamy gold with something upon his
head and once again, no wings. For a moment, just a moment she shied
away from them, from his words, his angry snort.Yet she was not lashed
at... She was not home. If she wanted to start a new life for herself,
she'd have to start now. Pinning her ears back those warm chocolate
eyes narrowed in irritation even as her chin tucked and her neck
arched. "It is not idiotic to take a moment to observe something never
seen before." Yet she was summarily dismissed as the stallion focused
upon the other one and spoke of some place called Isilme. Her wings
were no longer settled upon her back as nerves over her own bold
speaking thrummed through her system. Cautiously as Ra focused on the
stallion she took soft steps closer. With her chin no longer tucked to
help protect her jugular she inched closer.... just a little
closer.... She wanted to get a good look at his withers. In her
interest, her ears had started to angle forwards in curiosity as well.
There were no stubs, no scars... nothing to indicate wings had ever
been there. Still hesitant, but tingling with a boldness she'd never
had a chance to express before she aimed to suddenly lip at his
withers; her muzzle and lips attempting to twitch across his skin much
like they would if she was mutually grooming with him. How odd.
