The Deep Woods have always seemed dark and dreary, little sunlight making its way from the tops of the trees to the forest floor. However, the ruby-lined pond in the center has always seemed to sparkle and glint in the sunlight and the pool has always been a beacon of hope in the shadows of the thick trees. Visiting the place has always a special treat and you take it upon yourself today to hike to the edge of the cool waters to drink, long and slow. After drinking you take to splashing around in the waters, stirring up the mud that rests at the bottom and frolicking with the fish that swim about. At first you think it's nothing more than a cloud covering the sun, here to throw a shadow over your joy, but when you look up you find that this is no cloud that you've ever seen before. Blackness creeps forth from between the thick trees, making its way towards the pool. From within the blackness, many pairs of red eyes stare out, as if mocking you for playing so jovially in the ruby waters. “Run,” they seem to whisper in unison, making your blood chill.
