Closing his silver eyes to the world the dappled stallion attempted to shut out the world wanting nothing more to do with the chaos going on around them. Normally he was of utmost patience but when the situation was out of his grasp things grew to annoy him beyond belief. He was not angry at anyone in particular just the world itself or the gods who seemed to be doing nothing about this mess. Here they were stuck underground like moles with an eagle overhead trying to find its supper. Where they going to be here till their death or would things actually return to normal. What had Merou meant when he had said things will get better? What would get better their situation or his life?

He wished more than anything that his spirit cub were still with him to talk to, he had a way of calming him like no one else could. Now that he was no longer within this realm it was making things difficult to deal with as there was no outlet for his pent up energy. Giving up on sleep he once again opened his eyes to the green glow surrounding everyone within the strange room. Looking down to the greenery he reluctantly took some in his mouth forcing himself to swallow it. It was at least nutrition if you could call it that, at least no one would starve during their cave expeditions he thought sarcastically to himself. This was not what he expected to be eating, he missed the open fields where the wind could be felt across your skin and the moisture could be tasted upon the fresh shoots of grass. They all needed to get out of here before they ended up killing one another over lack of things to do.

Sighing softly he resigned himself to eating his fill of the abundance of moss and other strange edible greenery. He knew better than to even go near the mushrooms unless he wanted to die from eating one of them. The many colours did not seem all too appeasing and to him felt more like a plant just begging to kill someone who grew tempted by the strange colours. The forest's variety of fruit loops these mushrooms were, pretty to look at but hit or miss should you consume the things.

A day off the idea seemed so forgien to the painted lady warrior that she had to keep rolling the three words over and over again in her grey matter. She hadn't officially been told by any kind of leader that she should take a little break, considering the ranks and any kind of magic seemed to be abolished with the move to the underground caverns the entirety of Helovia had to make. The lines of difference between the different herds were beginning to blur more and more as each day went, but for the time being, that wasn't Cheveyo's problem to deal with at the moment.
She was told by some concerned citizens, who had been noticing her daily trek to the entrance in which she stood their for hours on hours just to make sure that the rumor that the infected wraiths were unable to cross under the crust of the Earth, that she should take a day off and go explore the rest of the underground other than that of the sanctuary. Flicking her chestnut harks the mare carefully, maybe even warily, made her way through the swarms of equine that still milled about the Sanctuary even though a few other rooms had been made available for their mingling pleasure. Slender, yet well muscled shoulders rolled into a shrug as she pushed off the bit of annoyance, the more that the others hung around in the main room meant that the other rooms would be a bit quieter and more peaceful. Just enough that maybe the paint could let her guard down for a few minutes and possibly enjoy herself.
A audible sigh of relief escaped from the mare as she finally reached the tunnel that led to one of the other rooms, tossing her skull the paint allowed her limbs to stretch out a little more and her stride to turn into a trot that was light and floaty, a trait that always seemed to throw people off considering the rough abrasiveness of her personality. It wasn't that the lady warrior enjoyed being a standoffish sort of mare, it was more that she didn't quite enjoy the stupidity that some others seemed to ooze out of every pore on their bodies. Not to mention the way some stallions looked at mares made Cheveyo's skin crawl as if a thousand insects were making their way across her. Flicking her chestnut harks back slightly the mare stepped a little to her right and into a room that carried a soft...glowing sort of light that seemed to be coming from the plants sprouting around.
A soft "Oh.." slid into the nearly silent air as pink pools drifted about, taking in the beautifully glowing room before landing upon the decorated and dappled form of the unicorn she had ran into a few days ago during the conversation between him and the rude yet very curious little filly. Flicking her long flaxen tail the painted mare strode a step or two further into the room watching the stallion eat the grass as if it were normal and not glowing. Snorting softly the curiosity eventually got the better of her as her ivory dipped limbs came to a halt beneath her. Cocking her painted skull to the side ever so slightly the mare allowed a string of under-used lyrics free. "Does it taste odd?" As soon as the words left her mouth the mare felt foolish, but at the same time, she wasn't quite in the mood to find out for herself if the grass would taste off. She was here to relax, not to try and scrape her tongue against the rocks in order to get the horrid taste of glowing grass from her taste buds.

The process of eating was one that came naturally to those of their species so it was thankfully something that he could do and not put a lot of thought into it. In a way this was a good thing but in another it wasn't the best for his unusually over-stressed brain as it allowed time to flick through more of the scenarios in his head that had not been there before. How could things just begin to manifest themselves into memories when he really no recollection of them happening in the first place? He felt as if he was walking within a world that was not real as things that he once thought to be the truth were no longer holding what he had remembered. Maybe if he hit his head hard enough things would fall back into place again so things would actually make sense.

The soft footfall of hooves caught his attention after a couple of minutes causing him to lift his head and cast a glance over to the source. A mare strode over with a quizzical look on her face stopping nearby before vocalizing her question. Her appearance registered faintly within his jumbled memories but he could not recall her name. He hadn't exactly been completely with it that day and could only recall basics of their whole conversation. "Does it taste odd?" The question brought a chuckle to his throat at the irony of the topic. Hadn't he just been thinking the same thing a couple minutes prior to the mares arrival.

Finishing chewing the clump of grass that was in his mouth he tried to find a way to best describe what exactly it was that they were all eating. It was different that much was for sure but did it really taste much different? "It depends on what you classify as odd" He commented lightly offering a small smile.

" It is at least edible, I hope. Its a little bland compared to what grows up on the surface but other than that there is surprisingly nothing too strange about it other than the fact it glows. I would recommend staying clear of the mushrooms though there is just something about the that is really wrong." He finished looking around to everything else around them. Things were definitely odd down here but so far no one had fallen ill consuming the stuff at least that he knew of. Maybe somewhere down one of the tunnels lay a horde of dead bodies from the stuff but so far everyone seemed intact. He would bet it was the stupid mushrooms that would be the first to kill off anyone consuming them.

A look of amazement had taken over the mare's normally fairly solid features as she looked about the room that she had just wandered in. Everything was so...bright, maybe even happy looking. You couldn't quite walk into this room and see the neon lights without at least a gentle tugging at the corners of your mouths, it was amazing how beautiful the Earth could be. Even things tucked away from the sun for eternity were gorgeous and breathtaking. It was sad though, noone would have ever discovered these beauties if it weren't for the fact that their homes were being torn apart by some shell of those who had once been their loved ones. Flicking her harks the mare allowed a gentle sigh to slip from her rosy velvets as her thoughts were interrupted by the deep chuckle of the dappled and decorated unicorn stallion who stood before her.
It seemed that her question asking if the glowing grasses tasted any different than the ones that grew under the sun was just as foolish as she had believed it to be after speaking. Lowering her skull slightly the mare felt a rush of heat reach it's fingers out towards her pale cheek bones. "It depends on what you classify as odd" The stallion's deep baritones rang out, interrupting the peaceful silence that resided in the room of the glowing plants and it didn't take long before he bellow once more. " It is at least edible, I hope. Its a little bland compared to what grows up on the surface but other than that there is surprisingly nothing too strange about it other than the fact it glows. I would recommend staying clear of the mushrooms though there is just something about the that is really wrong." Petal hued pools pulled away from the blade of luminescent grass she had been staring at to look up at the stallion who she was in the company of only to see that his own eyes had drifted down the room to where the mushrooms grew next to the pool of water that Cheveyo assumed was fresh enough to drink as she hadn't heard of anyone falling over dead down here just yet. All of the dead were above ground for the time being. With a shudder her pools drifted back to the stallion once more, offering a slight smile at the words that had escaped from his vocal chords.
"Thank you for the warning sir." As she spoke the mare lowered her skull to the glowing ground, closing her ivory lids over the pink pools so she wouldn't grow dizzy with the odd lighting, as her cracked and yellowed ivories parted just to close around the blades. Lifting her skull ever so slightly the mare allowed the juices of the grass to coat her taste buds as a quizzical expression danced across her features. The soft pink skin that was stretched between her nares crinkled slightly at the taste. Maybe it would grow better as she ate more, but for the time being she would wait until the slight bitterness left her tongue be.
