Angry thoughts bubbled up through her mind as she strode through the maze of caves that was now her home. The warrior was done feeling sorry for herself, she had been jumped and plumbed by a unicorn bitch. This was a time to grow and change, she would not be run over and attacked again. 'I will not be used or beaten, ever again!' She would become a warrior when all of this darkness was over and the herds were separate and settled again. She would stand for the weak fight and protect them. Parelia would live to be her name sake: a warrior. 'No more cowering. No more pain. No more fear!' She screamed in her mind bright azure eyes flashing dangerously. Little did the small dainty mare know, she now held a secret fear of unicorns, that would take a never patient and kind hearted horned one to kill that flame of anger and fear. Her ears pinned briefly as she came to her scenes the pounding roar startled her.

She gazed around her, the carefully crafted ball of moss hanging from her mouth. The egg she had found with Africa and Ciceron was tucked tenderly in side. She was not completely sure what the thing was, but she felt some strong maternal instinct to take care of it. She knew she would defend it with her life if it came to that, this was her egg. Bright orbs gazed mystified at the thundering waterfall before her. Something about it made her feel wild and free again, like she was back in the open. She inhaled deeply drawing in the smell of fresh crisp air and water. As she exhaled she watched the cloud of breath float through the air. Her anger was eased slightly by the feelings this place gave her.

Walking was the only thing that the stallion could do in his attempt to temper his restless mind. Ever since they had come down to these caves things had been nothing but bad memories which until now he had not remembered. It was a battle to try and figure out what was real and what was just myth but if there was any truth to it he hated it entirely. Something needed to make sense but nothing seemed to anymore he felt lost and even more alone than he had thought possible. Merou was gone and now he was being plagued by all these haunting images of his father committing despicable acts, it was just so much to deal with on his own. We wanted badly to get out of here and just run until he collapsed from exhaustion but within the walls of stone there was no escape from his thoughts.

Gazing around himself there was nothing but the coldness of the stone and more stone. He had stopped for a couple minutes to try and once again regain himself as he wandered aimlessly through the tunnels. Leaning his head against the wall he let the cold seep into his skin cooling it considerably as his eyes closed. He felt exhausted but in another sense hyper beyond compare. His usual self had been hidden away with his friends departure leaving him feeling not at all himself.

Continuing on his way he moved almost silently barely paying much attention to where he was heading. It wasn't as if he was going anywhere else outside their confines. The sound of water raised his attention enough to make him lift his head looking for its source. Up ahead a waterfall snaked down into the rock from somewhere above, a rather pleasant change from the dull damp darkness. At its edge stood a familiar face, Parelia. He contemplated returning the way he had come avoiding conversation altogether but knew he needed to socialize more before this depression consumed him taking away everything that made him who he was. Wickering softly he slowly approached her coming up alongside hesitating slightly before reaching out to gently graze his muzzle against her shoulder. Flicking his tail against his sides he turned his gaze to meet hers. " I guess even the darkest places need to have some pleasing aspect to them." He commented lightly offering a smile.

••MUSE: Good•• TAGS: @[Parelia]•• NOTES: ••Mine isn't the greatest either lol. Ciceron is in a sort of depression since Merou was taken away. He only was gifted to him for the season but the caves are also bringing back memories that had been hidden away from when he was young. Basically his happy family was not so happy afterall XD He also has yet to find his egg so he is lonely

Her eyes were locked on the falling swirling water, but her ears were constantly swiveling searching for any sound of approach. Tearing her gaze from the liquid she strode towards the rock walls, 'What else would be in a cave?' She thought almost bitterly as she reached the cold unforgiving stone. She searched carefully looking for a dry safe place to lay her bundle. She found a dry niche in the wall and very carefully laid the moss swaddled egg inside. Nudging it away from the edge she smiled warmly at it, this was her egg, her baby. The thought of a baby made her ears drop and her head lower slightly, she longed for a foal of her own. She had seen a few tromping around in these unforgiving caves. Shaking her head she cast one last look at her bundle before returning to the water.

She heard the very soft clop of hooves behind her, but did not bother to turn around. The soft call did make her heart flip and a smile cover her face. She turned her azure gaze towards her company and her eyes fell on the massive dapple grey form of Ciceron. She had not realized, in the darkness of their first meeting she had not noticed his horn. A tinge of fear swelled in her, but he had been kind to her. Shivering softly trying to pass it off as the cold she greeted him with her own warm nicker. As his muzzle touched her she felt warmth spread through her body. Her smile grew brighter at his words and warm breath. "Yes I guess there is light in every darkness." Her voice was warm, but held some wise quality to it. She reached her own muzzle out towards his larger one. Lingering against him she let the warmth flood her cremello painted body. As she pulled away she flicked her long cream and teal streaked mane from her face. She never had to worry about her short mane getting in the way, but her forelock sure did.

She turned her eyes back to the water and sighed heavily unable to keep her thoughts to herself anymore. Her voice was low and sad, "I just want to go out and run. My legs and wings need to stretch, and these stupid caves are killing me. I just feel... trapped." She turned and looked at him her usually warm eyes downcast searching his own silver gaze for the same feelings. "I don't know what I'll do if I have to stay here much longer." She sighed again and carefully unfurled her right wing, it was still sore from her fight. Parelia also knew that she had several more scars added to her wide array of neck back and rib scars.

The shiver that met his muzzle as it touched the fae's side caused a string of worry to rise into his gut. With all his thoughts lately driving him rather mad at points of time, his lacked command over his normal foolproof control that he had developed over the years. Never had he felt such confusion in his usual confidence but with the visions he did not know how to react. Had he done something wrong to cause this reaction? Flicking his ears back uncertainty gripped his heart. For being the age he was he had not so much as made an advance on a mare while others commonly did as their hormones grew in strength and intensity. It was a part of growing up some would say but he had always made sure to stay his distance. Yes it was nearly impossible at times but he had always fought through it to come out the other side the winner. All this time he thought his father upheld the same standard of respect but he was slowly learning that this was not the case.

His father had been a monster raping endless numbers of fillies who could barely conceive nevermind carry to term. It had all been without shame or concern for their feelings or health. If all this was true what kind of monster was he? The same blood ran through their veins, the same markings adorned their bodies, what if... No it couldn't happen he could not grow to be the same barbaric creature. Everything was eating away at him like a fire burned paper. The scariest thought was what happened if there was nothing he could to do stop himself from being like that. The warm touch against his own muzzle snapped him back again as his ears flicked back to a more natural position. Flaring his nares slightly he inhaled softly taking in his friends scent while taking the warmth to calm his worries and his heartbeat.

"I just want to go out and run. My legs and wings need to stretch, and these stupid caves are killing me. I just feel... trapped." Finding himself nodding slightly in silent agreement he could not relate better to this statement well except for the wings part. Raising his silver eyes to hers he knew exactly how she felt being cooped up in here. He was thankful for the unusual colour of his own orbs as it helped to hide the emotion and torture swirling behind closed doors, well at least he hoped it did. "Trust me I know the feeling all too well." He commented lightly with a smirk.

It was the long overdue cure that he needed to help collect himself again. Getting rid of all this energy would help to curb these urges before the overabundance turned against him. The amount of testosterone in the air was bad enough with a bunch of stallions being cooped up with other mares. Lifting his head up he tried to see the outside world from the small opening where the water came through to no avail. " This needs to end, we were not meant to live like this crammed into a hole. It does things to you over time which can't be good for anyone." He said speaking his thoughts aloud.

She watched him curiously, she could not tell what he was thinking or feeling, but something just seemed off to her. Maybe he was always like that or perhaps something was wrong with him. She flicked her head softly towards him smiling warmly once again. She gazed into his silver orbs enjoying the odd color, they ingredient her. She looked up at him and laughed slightly at their height difference. He was considerably taller than herself, and she liked that aspect. He made her feel safe to around such a large and powerful stallion. Her gaze left his eyes and trailed over his thick wavy mane his chiseled masculine face before returning back to his captivating eyes. She couldn't help returning his smirk with her own playful twisted smile.

She nodded in agreement with his next words her elegant head turning towards the water. A light bulb when off in her head as she gazed at a smooth pool off to the right. It wasn't churning and it looked very inviting. Parelia's smirk grew and she bucked her head towards the larger stallion playfully. Her voice was it's normal light and cheery bell, "I have an idea for us to let out some energy!" She smiled playfully and bobbed her head up and down excitedly. Prancing in place she pulled her wings in close to her lieth body until she was farther away from him. Large cream and teal wings, one large feather missing, popped from her sides as if on springs. She stood before him her wings spread wide her athletic cream and white body dancing in the light. Her voice rang out again, "It'll be chilly... But why don't we go swimming?" She smiled broadly.

She pranced away from him pulling her wings in as she went. She gazed down towards the water then plunged in. Water flew up in a sheet hanging for a moment before sprinkling down again. Parelia went down allowing her body to sink below the water before standing up, on the tip of her hooves. A shiver of cold passed through her, as the water lapped around her neck like a thirsty dog. Her head barely stuck out of the frigged water. She turned towards him and nickered warmly. "It is cold, but it's better than just sitting around with all that energy!" She smiled teasingly at him. "You're welcome to join me, unless you're scared." She winked teasingly before swimming around in circles.

Trying to sort through the jumble of thoughts he could feel the mare's eyes watching him intently. Could she see through his mask to what lurked below...a monster? He shared so many similarities with his birth father he couldn't doubt the chances that he too could be some sick twisted creature who deserved lifelong solitary confinement. Maybe the gods were not testing him but rather driving the last few nails into his coffin, exposing him for what his blood made him. They had stripped him of Merou just as it came about they were all crammed into this hole. Sighing he felt ready to just admit to himself that there was no hope left and surrender himself before the mob came after him. Maybe then he would make sure the others were safe if he was locked away or exiled.

At the mention of swimming he cast a skeptical gaze in her direction wondering if she was actually being serious. The water was surely half frozen with the temperatures falling with the season change. It made it cold to drink but to swim in it? Sure enough the fae had to be dead serious on her suggestion as she walked over to the water's edge and proceeded to wade into the water. Her body reacted to the cold by sending a shiver through her small frame bringing a half amused expression to his face. Standing there within the frigid water the poor girl's head barely broke the surface without effort to stay afloat. "You are going to catch a cold if you stay in there for long." He commented chuckling softly as his footfalls brought him closer to the water's edge as he observed her.

He knew that she was only trying to find a solution for the excess energy but he did not think that it would serve its purpose for him anyway. His heart needed to be beating rapidly and his lungs burning before he could even touch what needed to be gotten rid of. This information he chose to keep to himself not wanting to hurt the mare's feelings as it was a suggestion opposed to standing or walking around aimlessly. Shaking his head in mock disbelief at the mare's attempt to draw him in with stating he was afraid to do so he couldn't help the playful laughter that escaped his throat. Fine he might as well play along considering the faster he got in there the sooner she would get out hopefully long before she came down with the flu.

Resigning himself to the cold water he slowly drew himself into the water without hesitation figuring it would at least take his mind off things for awhile. His thick hide helped little against the cold temperatures but in a way helped to soothe his feverish skin brought on by all this stress. Walking across the sandy bottom the water came up just over his back and part way up his neck, his head was well out of the cold. The long tendrils of his mane and tail streamed out around him like a banner caught in the wind. "Its only water, nothing scary about it." He commented rolling his eyes in a teasing sort of fashion as he lowered his head slightly so that his lower lip skimmed the top of the water. Goosebumps sprang to his flesh as the cold began to freeze everything it touched upon his frame. Ok this was colder than he was expecting he thought as he watched Parelia swimming around in circles with her dainty wings spread out upon the surface.

"How exactly were you planning to dry off afterwards? There isn't really any place down here thats warmer than the rest." He said reaching out his muzzle to lip gently at the tip of one of the long feathers of the fae's wings. "You should also get out soon before you freeze to death." He joked not able to help the concern ebbing through. He could care less about himself freezing but he didn't want someone else to if he could help it. His body temperature tended to be higher than most anyway so it wouldn't take too long for him to get warm again.

She smiled at his look of uncertainty which turned to a good natured laugh as he spoke of her becoming sick. "That would be a cherry on top huh?" She smiled letting her wings brush the top of the freezing water. It felt good to have all of the grim and stone dust being washed away from her feathers and thick winter pelt. She smiled playfully as he approached and flicked her wing closest to him out of the water sending a chilly spray towards the dapple grey stallion. She let his laughter wash over her warming her heart. Her smile was super glued to her dainty face making her eyes sparkle and dance. She lifted her hooves from the sandy bottom and worked her muscles, it felt phenomenal to be moving to work her stiff muscles out. She had no hidden demons, not from herself anyway. A word of her ordeal had never passed from her tender lips to the ears of another. Her ears flicked back momentarily before lifting back towards him. She glanced at her scars as she swam making her lower her legs back to the sandy bottom. To an unknowing horse they would assume she had been attacked by a cougar at a young age, but she knew this was not the case.

Shaking her head lightly to clear it as his laughter lapped around her pricked ears. She turned honey orbs back to see the handsome stallion wading in after her. Her face lit up again as she watched his broad frame sink into the water. Azure lanterns upon his long curly mane and tail then up to his face. She could feel her ears turning red with embarrassment, with her light colored pelt it was plain to see the beacons her ears became. She turned her gaze away from his handsome structure letting her mind shift from the two of them, as she subconsciously pushed her wings under the water and pilled them up again cleaning the dirt and grim from them.

His words quickly brought her lips back up and set her eyes sparkling again as she looked at his slyly. 'Oh crap how..' she thought quietly her thoughts cute short as he lipped at her wings. Fear suddenly raged through her veins. All thought of who was in front of her vanished. The silver horn atop his head turned to gold in her mind's eye and she lost it. She ripped her wings away from him as she back away her hooves skidding in the sand. She lost her footing causing her beautiful head to dip below the surface. Luckily for both of them the icy water cleared her panicked head. As she surfaced she gasped in air shaking her short mowhawk mane, and long teal streaked forelock from her face. Soft shaky and ashamed vocals drifted from her maw, "I-I'm sssorry Ciceron." She paused her wide fearful eyes cast towards the water, confusion mingling with fear in her now wet orbs. Shudders tore at her flesh; the cold had nothing to do with these tremors.

"I-I'll exxxxplain... I waaassss ambushed bbbby a ggggolddden unicorn mmmare not long agggo.." She paused again taking a few deep calming breaths trying to hold back the tears that were causing the boulder in her throat. When she continued her voice was stronger, "I guess it shook me more than I thought... She took one of my feathers, I guess as a prize..." She let her voice drift off eyes still cast towards the water she lifted her right wing were the second longest feather (a teal one) had been ripped away. Quietly she lifted her strong hooves from the water and swam passed him until she had no choice but to lower her hooves and walk out of the water. She stood were she had been when he had first approached her. 'I've really done it now. I'll hear him calling me crazy or stupid, or something worse. He probably wont ever talk to me again, if I'm lucky he'll never tell a soul about oh crazy, that paint mare is.' She sighed head bowed ears back waiting silently for his nasty words she was sure he would bumble her with.

Hooves sinking into the soft sand he moved around not wanting to become stuck in the muck as it became quicksand beneath his weight pulling him down. It was a strange feeling really to have something not living to have so much strength to suck objects down to wherever lay underneath the ground. The cold water meanwhile gave him the feeling of weightlessness if he should sink below and dislodge his feet from holding his mass above water. Taking a breath he held it within his lungs as he bravely plunged his head beneath the blue surface to clear his head and wash off whatever grime had collected there. As he resurfaced he shook his head to clear the water from his eyes just as the energy seemed to change drastically.

Terror seemed to grip into his friend sending her into a frenzy as she fought desperately to put distance between them plunging herself for a moment completely under the surface. Throwing his head back in surprise an icy terror stripped through his body making him feel as if he was frozen from the inside out. What had he done, no..no.. He should never had come here, endangered anyone with his presence. Shame washed through him darkening his thoughts as the image of his father standing in cold blood passed before him. The image was so vivid there was no way it was fake, it was a memory from many years ago when he had been young. The scene before him was dark but the sickening scent of blood filled his nostrils making him want to vomit. Looking down his coat, light grey at the time was smeared with crimson not entirely his own but the mares as well who lay near his father dying. It was not him who inflicted the injuries but rather his father when she had tried to run away from the monster who had raped her endlessly...him... Being no more than a yearling at the time he had come across her body and frantically tried to call for help nudging the mare's cold body trying to rouse her.

His calls had been answered by the one he looked up to the most, his dad. Only the reaction that followed had been nothing as he expected, instead teeth had sunk into his fleshy neck as his father descended upon him anger evident in his body. Being much smaller at the time he had been thrown aside battered and beaten laying in a heap on the grass. He had been so scared he had gotten up and ran fearing for his life and confused beyond belief. His mother had tended to his many wounds but he never saw his father again. Talk about magic had persisted among the herd back then and that was when things became grey. They had placed false memories over the real ones to shield him from the pain, the truth, the reality. The feeling of sickness washed over him as the full weight of things settled. His father was a monster and now here he was....

The broken voice of Parelia was distant but he slowly came back to see her now standing upon the shore shaking and trying to explain. An attack? A feather? Blinking in disbelief as his heart pounded within his chest her words began to fall into meaning. The panic.. he had caused it.. touching her wing.. Numbly he managed to make his legs move heaving himself out of the water not bothering to shake himself off. Ears to the side he lowered his head in shame barely managing to lift his eyes to the fae's dreading the pain reflected there. He wanted to comfort her to hold her close but he was the one who caused this in the first place. He had began to reach out to touch her but pulled his muzzle back hesitantly. "Please.. I..I'm sorry... I didn't know.." He manged his voice sounding soft despite the shiver that trailed his spine.

Retreating a step shamefully he turned his head away not able to bear the thought of doing anything more to cause his friend pain. He was a monster that would only cause more damage just like his father had. How could he live with himself now?

She stood waiting for his words fear of his anger bubbling up in her. For some reason she was terrified he would scoff at her and leave her alone. He was silent, besides his quick hoof steps following her onto shore. 'Maybe he wants to get closer so he doesn't have to yell so loud.' She thought keeping her head lowered ready for him reprimand her for freaking out over nothing. She shifted her head slightly to look at him as he stopped next to her. His large body towering over her own fear shrunken frame. She watched his muzzle moving towards her, and she remand still awaiting her punishment. His soft spoken words nearly knocked her over with force of the surprise that ran her mind over. Her body was in motion following his retreating form before the slow moving mind realized what was happening. She leaned into him reaching her muzzle towards his, stopping an inch from touching him. Bright azure eyes locked onto his silver orbs confusion and worry for him over powering all other emotions running through her. Her voice was soft and gentle, "You didn't know Ciceron, it's not your fault. I don't think there is a mean bone in your body." She smiled lightly then stepped forward trying to put her chest close to his attempting to lay his neck over her own.

She couldn't help the weak joke that bubbled from her vocal cords, "Even though you are a giant." She smiled softly, even though she could still feel a twinge of panic rubbing her nerves as she caught a glimpse of his horn. His skin touching hers chased the thought from her brain. Yet there was another thought hot on it's heels, and she had to ask. "Why did you get so upset because of something someone else did to me?" Parelia figured being blunt would be the best thing for this dappled silver stallion. She retreated from him until she could see all of his masculine face. She kept her eyes firmly panted on him, even though she was shivering madly. She stood watching him waiting for a response, but she was growing very tired. Her vision started coming and going and her knees were growing weak. Then the feeling was gone as fast as it had come. Shaking her head she thought, "Well that was really weird." Little did she know that was only a prelude to what was about to happen.

Why had he come here when he knew deep down that something was wrong with him, he should have stayed away. He had tried to find the strength to keep himself from everyone yet still he was here surrounded my many of his kind and others. It seemed that his mind had other ideas than what he had decided believing it to be the right decision. Why did he not fight harder to stay away he mentally screamed in his head hating himself more with each passing minute. If only he had restrained himself, things could have been alright. One simple action and he had screwed it up what had he been thinking. The look of pain across Parelia's face was harder to deal with than if he had been shot. It felt like the oxygen had been removed from the air at that moment, he couldn't breathe, couldn't move all he could do was see that look of utter terror swimming before him.

"You didn't know Ciceron, it's not your fault. I don't think there is a mean bone in your body." Like someone tapping on glass the words repeated themselves over and over in his head until finally something stuck to say they were meant for him not conjured by some distant memory. "If only you knew." The scent of her skin was so close, no wait she was so close but why? Why was she not running for her life from him? The realization hit him like a punch to the gut forcing him to take a breath of air to clear the fuzziness from his mind. As oxygen rapidly fueled his neurons they responded to external stimuli again snapping him out of his trance like state. The gentle touch of her muzzle, the confused gaze the worry it all blended together making him want to hold her closer. He wasn't sure if it was to soothe her worries or his insecurities but somehow it felt right at that moment.

Taking a hesitant step forward he allowed his chest to meet hers as he curled his muscular neck over hers tucking his head in close pulling her into him. He could only hope that she would not panic and pull away as it would do unimaginable things to his tortured mind at that moment. Part of him grasped at her words desperately wishing them to be true while the other half grappled with himself being a monster. A soft snort of amusement left his throat at her size comparisons bringing the faintest smile to his torn yet confused expression. A minute of so passed before he felt her pull away to see his face as another question left her lips. "Why did you get so upset because of something someone else did to me?"

His answer was soft yet came easily compared to the many other things he had been thinking of before. It was a little impressive that he could manage to find words after all of that. "It's just.. I don't know how anyone could do something so horrible and without warrant. You don't deserve to be treated like that.." He replied after a couple seconds. Lifting his eyes from the stony ground he looked up to gauge the fae's reaction to things so far uncertain of everything he had done so far. Seeing her shaking frame concern jumped to the forefront of his mind, she needed to get warm and rest. Glancing around he wished that they were anywhere but here so that he could find a way to warm her body but all there was around was ice cold water, stone and moss. Wait the moss could provide a cushion from the hardness of the stone. Nearby a rather large patch covered half the wall and ground, that would work since there was nothing better. "Come lay yourself down before you collapse." He instructed gently motioning over to the nearby area of moss.

He stood silently star like eyes gazing behind their surroundings. Azure orbs took advantage of his absent focus she cast a swift glance towards the cleft were your baby lay tucked safely into it's bed of moss. Her smile was warm, almost motherly, before she turned her attention back to Ciceron. As his warm strong neck curved around her and pulled her closer she sighed contently. 'This is such a strange feeling. I think...' She twitched her dished ears clearing her head, she didn't need to think of something like that. 'Not right now, not yet,' she thought silently. She pushed the thoughts away and leaned into his warm embrace enjoying his gentle touch. Her own giggle tinkled from her muzzle as well.

As she pulled away she stood watching him curiously waiting for his response. Flesh ripped as thick muscles tightened trying to warm her frozen body. She could feel her legs prickling like hot pins were floating under the skin. Cremello dishes flipped forward drawing in his voice, but flicked slightly at the stallion's hesitation. 'He isn't telling me everything...' She mused quietly watching his body language as he continued. His words flew around her brain buzzing like bees, repeating what she had just heard until they sunk in. Struck dumb with the tidal wave of thoughts and feelings, she gaped at him her mouth slightly open. 'Maybe he feels like I do, just maybe.' She smiled at him then shivered deeply again.

His eyes darted around and she followed their gaze, when they steadied. The moss was thick and green, she would bet it would feel springy, like pine needles. She couldn't help but think about how sweet the large dappled stallion was, always looking out for everyone else first. "It probably wouldn't kill you to warm up either Mister Ciceron." She smiled playfully her words slurring lightly. Turning her lithe body towards the mossy floor, right foreleg half extended she felt for sure she was about to pass out. Spots of black seemed to swirl everything together; everything was a blur. Hearing anything became suddenly difficult, and her body started to tremor sending fear flooding into her brain.

Then she was normal again, well, on the inside anyway. Her vision cleared and she could see again, then there was that incredible warm feeling all over her body. She thought stupidly that maybe it was just her happiness about being with Ciceron. She lowered her hoof she let her soft voice swim towards him as she asked one of the question burning in her mind, "Ciceron, is there something bothering you?" If Parelia had been able looking at her own body she would not have been nearly so calm and collected. During her episode blue and white flames had erupted onto her body. Now everything besides her head was engulfed in warm licking flames. She could only feel the warmth, there was no burning or pain.

You know those days when you wish just for a minute that your brain would cease to work to give you a couple minutes of undisturbed silence? Well this was one of those times. His brain essentially felt like a washing machine jumbling everything together at first but then stuck on a spin cycle, the rest of him needed time to catch up. If he chose to listen to half the thoughts skimming across the surface he would not be standing here with a mare no less only a couple feet from him. Deep down he wanted to believe what his life had shown him he was capable of but there was always the level of uncertainty riding along with it. What if genetics played a bigger role than he thought, what if he was just blind to the fact it had already begun? Who was he and why was all this getting thrown at him now?

So many questions and sadly there was no one left who could answer them, not unless he gave up his journey to return home again. Could he even consider it home anymore after the gained knowledge? He was angry that everyone had tried to hide this from him in the first place, cover it up like nothing had ever happened. Surely they would have known that magic would wear off over time, did they even consider this in the decision? Sighing softly he couldn't shake the feeling that he was not who he once thought he was anymore, much had changed in the past days leaving him no idea who he was.

Casting his eyes over Parelia as she slowly followed his suggestion he was glad to see that she didn't seem injured from her brief panic routine in the water. If she had been it would have been just one more thing he could add to his growing list of things to blame himself for, already it was starting to get lengthy. Lowering his head he chewed briefly at an itch that was starting to develop upon his lower leg ridding himself of it before turning himself to follow the path he had indicated for the fae. His tired eyes gazed over the image of Parelia as he once again cast a survey of the surroundings but something was off. Shaking his head in puzzlement his silver eyes returned to his friend only to find the source of what was off. Blinking a couple of times he tried to make sure he was not hallucinating, but sure enough flames engulfed almost the entirety of Parelia!

Snorting in surprise he approached slowly wondering what was going on. Was this some sort of screwed up dream and he was imagining all this or was this actually happening? Nothing seemed to be harming her based on her half asleep expression, so that relieved some worry that had jumped to the surface but this was something new for him. "Parelia? Are you alright?" He asked cautiously to preoccupied by the flames to return her own questions at the moment. This had to be some sort of magic at work here, did Parelia obtain magic and just forgot to tell him about it? "Uhh.. no need to get panicked or anything but look down at your coat...there is ummm.." Trailing off he was unsure how to finish the sentence without throwing up a panic flag in the fae's mind. There was no easy way to put it that it would not sound ridiculous so he just decided to leave it at that for the time being. The discovery could be left for her to put it into words.

She watched him curiously her bright azure eyes shinning brightly. For some reason she was feeling giddy with the sudden warmth spreading throughout her body. 'He is so sweet and endearing, what could be bothering him?' She asked herself silently very curious. His sudden snort made her start and look around her eyes first flashing to her hidden egg before casting around the cave looking for their enemy. She turned her wide eyed gaze back to him as he approached her slowly, cautiously slow. His voice tickled her erect ears making her own voice tinkle in response, "I'm fine, but what's wrong?" She gazed around them caution plaguing her again. Was there some enemy that she couldn't see lurking in the shadows? Nostrils dilated drawing in the scents around them, making her brain sort through the smells sorting them carefully; her own scent, his intoxicating musk, the damp cave, water, moss, and some other smell she could not quite pinpoint. She tiled her head softly to the left watching him for any more indication of what was wrong.

Maybe the light was playing tricks on him making him think that there was an attacker stalking them. ’Panic?' She thought as his words swam around in her head. She turned slowly almost like she was in slow motion herself. Bending her neck to look at her scared back. She was sure he had just noticed all of her scars, she quickly dismissed that as her eyes took in her body. Fire! She was on fucking fire! She squealed rearing her fore hooves lashing at the air. How was she supposed to keep calm with her pelt on fire?! Landing with an audible thump that made her bones jiggle she started to buck widely panic etched in her face. 'What was I told to do if I was on fire?' She thought wildly, but it avoided her thought in her insane urge to quench the blaze on her body.

Her insane feelings emotions only made the blue flames flare higher and hotter. Then she froze body stretched out looking much like a show Morgan spreading out to show it's gorgeous frame. She wasn't in pain, the flames only gave off a warm pleasurable warmth and a slight tickling sensation. Breathing heavily she turned to him, she had no idea about magic. "What is this?!" She squeaked fear still etched in her voice. Then another thought hit her, like a train, "Don't touch me, I... I don't want to burn you!" She was shaking again her body now completely engulfed in flickering blue, white, and black tinged flame.

Three, two, one...and there we go. He thought mentally as the fire finally registered within Parelia's mind causing exactly what he had said for her not to do...panic. As her fear rose so did the intensity of the flames causing him to take a hesitant step backwards to avoid becoming a toasted marshmallow. All he could do is watch painfully as the mare bucked and tried to rid herself of the flames which did not seem to wane with her movements. It has to be magic, he thought silently to himself as he watched the scene before him. There was no logical explanation for any of this making him all the more certain the forces in which the flames were fueled. The only thing comforting to him at this moment was the knowledge that one who wields the magic is not commonly affected adversely by its power. At least the flames were harmless to her anyway, the same could not be said for him.

The magic that was contained within his own body to make his strange markings glow in low light was not something that he had been born with so he could relate to the initial panic it brought. There was no manual to explain what magic was or how it was controlled so for the most part it all had to be learned on your own thorough trial and error. He had only been about two years of age when the his oddity had first made itself known. The night had been rather dark and gloomy with rain showers throughout the day so most of it had been spent trying to keep dry under a grove of trees. When the rain finally broke he had seized the opportunity to stretch his legs with a few of the other youngsters of the herd. They had been just about to leave when streaks of fire lit up the sky. It only lasted for a matter of a minute or two as meteors fell from the heavens but it was then that the glow began.

While he had no control over his magic there were types that one could control, it was just a matter of finding out how. " I believe that this is magic's doing, if I had to take a guess." He commented gently hoping that Parelia would calm herself down long enough to hear reason. "Don't touch me, I... I don't want to burn you!" Surprise hit him with the words, why was she thinking of him in this situation, he had been the one who caused her earlier panic episode. Seeing the tremors return to her delicate frame he wanted to go comfort her as he had before but the only thing stopping him was the unpredictability of the fire lighting her up like a match. " I don't think that it will harm you please try not to be frightened. I do not want to see you get hurt should you slip or run into something."

Right now he was at a loss what to do, he couldn't reach out to her and he had no idea the nature of this magic. Did the gods ever think about explaining things before they randomly thrust magic upon them, he thought to himself a little irritated at whoever decided who could control what magic.

She stood stretched out eyes locked on the stud before her, but not seeing him. Why was she covered in blue fire that didn't even hurt her? Taking deep breaths her trembling decreasing slowly as she moved her legs under her lithe cremello body. "Magic... But I don't have magic?" Little did she know she was now blessed with the ability to conjure fire over her body that would not harm her in the least. She saw the surprise flash over his face, or was it the light? His concern for her, instantly calmed her frightened soul. Her smile spread over her chiseled Arabian face as the flames slowly died. As her eyes fell over the dappled male she strode towards him flames dying, then completely gone. Pausing before him, her head tilted up towards his own masculine face. Reaching up tentatively, so slowly it almost hurt, she touched her slim pink muzzle to touch his massive grey one.

She stood that way for a moment breathing in his musky scent, spreading warmth through her body. 'At least the flames warmed me up.' She thought silently her eyes closing in pure bliss. Her voice caressed the air warmly, "Well, this has been an odd day, hasn't it?" She giggled softly pulling away from his muscular body. Bright orbs searched his silently, "I'm sorry about that little, escapade there. I just... hell I was on fire!" She paused laughing heartily. This stallion did have a very odd affect on her indeed. "I'm sorry that I snapped at you, I just couldn't stand the thought that I might have hurt you Ciceron." Her eyes slowly drifted towards the ground feeling embarrassed. She tried to squish the words that were trying to rush from her mouth, but that flood gates had been opened. "I like you Ciceron. You make my brain all fuzzy" Eyes shut tight body hot from the rising embarrassment, like a flash flood in her body.

She turned from him walking towards the water she let her gaze flow over the churning liquid below the falls. 'Why in the hell did I say that?! What am I begging to have my feels hurt? Have I learned nothing from my past?' She thought angrily at herself. A saying rose to her mind, 'What's done is done I guess, that fits this to a T,' she sighed heavily. Turning her lowered head back towards him gauging his face, worry clouding her mind, but she was careful to keep the mask of calm over her pretty features.

Through his mind instead of his earlier conflicts now ran everything he knew of magic, not that it was all that much in the first place. Something might help the mare, if only he could remember what it was he was trying to remember. There was active magic and passive that much he knew but since he did not have any active magic it was hard to explain how to control it when he did not know himself. Surely if he was ever deemed good enough to be gifted with magic, which he doubted as of lately, his initial reaction might be some what similar save the bucking and outwardly freaking out part. He absolutely hated not being able to come up with a solution to a problem, he only wanted to help and be useful for once.

"Well, this has been an odd day, hasn't it?" An unexpected chuckle was the product of Parelia's rather accurate portrayal of today's events. Things had not gone as he was expecting at any point of the day and it wasn't over yet. Glancing up from staring off into space as he thought his eyes focused in on the mare before him again. To his relief the flames were slowly dying down until they eventually vanished all together. At least she had somehow found a solution on her own as he was still clueless to all of the magic control business. In a way it saved him from looking like a idiot in front of her for not knowing what to do to help. If it happened again maybe water would put out the flames he mused silently imagining having to push her into the frigid water only to defeat the whole warming up idea he had had in the first place.

"Please don't apologize, you did nothing wrong. Plus I think most people would have a meltdown if they discovered they were on fire." He commented gently smiling at his joke. Why was she so worried about hurting him? There really wasn't a way she could hurt him anymore than what his thoughts were already hurting him. Yes the fire could have burned his skin but it would in no way be her fault. Maybe in a way it was a good thing she had fire to protect herself, from him.. At least it might drive him back if he lost control of himself around her.. The thought that he was capable of committing such a deed sickened him to the core. Really he shouldn't even be here with her now, but he couldn't seem to drag himself away from her company. It was as if there was something holding him here, he wanted to be here.

"I like you Ciceron. You make my brain all fuzzy" The blush that crept into Parelia's face after the words left her mouth was obvious against her pale coat. When she chose to look away rather than to meet his eyes he grew slightly puzzled. They were friends why was it embarrassing to admit that she liked him? He enjoyed the time he spent with her as well did she not see that? Hell women were confusing at times. Stepping forward with his own head lowered slightly he gently nudged the mares neck with his muzzle. "You don't have to be embarrassed to admit that. I may just like you as well." He commented raising his eyes playfully at his sarcasm. There was no may to the statement, he did like her there was no denying it from either himself or from Parelia. It was a strange feeling he didn't really understand but he liked feeling this way.

She couldn't help the tinkling giggle that swam from her lips at his account of her bursting into flames. She thought the word 'meltdown' fit pretty well and she smiled softly. She turned her honey orbs back towards the water, while her mind wondered her gaze shifted slightly out of focus. She could see that evil brute's face looming over her for the last time. She could remember something in her mind snap like a long dead twig. 'Was I dead at the time?' She thought sadly her mind lost in the past. As she walked down memory lane her blank mask slid from her face, but she was unaware that her company would be bale to see her true feelings. She could almost feel her foal muscles tensing as anger flooded her mind, it was is a levy in her brain finally gave way to the pulsing fire behind it. he was about to attack her again and she would not allow it, not this time. Parelia watched her younger self's head bow covering her face, hiding the anger with disrepair.

She could all but hear his chuckling and feel his breath on her neck, "Stupid worthless filly." He seemed to growl into delicate ears. As he turned from her toying with young emotions, Parelia the foal leapt for him. Teeth tore at tender leg muscles, and she lost herself in the gore. All she could remember after the first attack, was the pounding in her head, the thrum in her veins, and the dead stallion as well as the filly who had lured her in. Fear and gripped the youthful heart, and she had fled.

A sudden touch brought Parelia back in a rush. She almost squealed when she reached, mentally, to tighten her mask and found it missing. A soft voice whispered for her to leave it where it had fallen, to let someone in. her pride roared it's outrage at this ridiculous remark and demanded to return it now! No she was not hearing other people talking to her, don't be silly. The sweet mare had always longed for a companion to show her true feelings to. Someone she could share it all with, her past, short comings, even her loneliness... She left the mask on the floor and turned to face the handsome stud beside her.

Ears pricked forward drawing in the words greedily as Ciceron spoke. The words themselves made her knees quiver lightly, but the tone turned them sour. She searched his face slowly, carefully examining him. Then she was sure he thought she was joking, when silver eyes screamed of playfulness. Gentle chiseled features sloped down in confusion tinged with worry, and dejection. Disappointing eyes tilted towards the cave floor, before taking a deep breath to quell the misery in her soft voice, "No Ciceron, I mean I..." Her voice faltered as her eyes drifted towards his silver orbs her vocals picked back up, "I might love you." 'Let the chips fall where they may.' The thought banged around in her head before leaving her numb and breathless. Why in the world had the warrior said that?

Thinking back it was impossible to remember this type of feeling that seemed to spread throughout his body jumbling his mind and making him feel so strange. Normally he found it easy to establish some feeling of security but whenever he talked to the mare before him everything was different. Butterflies filled his stomach and his muscles felt tight against his frame, with others words seemed to come with ease yet each word with Parelia seemed to be most difficult to conjure. Maybe it was just his anxiety and internal worry starting to take its toll on his mental health, why did these memories have to present themselves now. His actions were no longer made with certainty while he second guessed each step he took fearing that any wrong step could mean his fathers blood would take over.

He was ancy and needed something to distract his mind but being underground only seemed to make the thoughts become stagnant within his brain. Silver eyes once again sought out those of his companion as he tried to make sense of everything going on at that moment. While he had been caught up in his own jumble of thoughts it appeared that something similar had taken Parelia. Her normally soft expression was clouded with anger and something else he couldn't place, but what was it that troubled her so? If only he could read her thoughts even to get the faintest idea he might be alright but with such uncertainty in himself he felt lost. Was this something he had done or caused? Panic touched down into his consciousness as he tried to picture what might have happened he did not know about.

Fidgeting awkwardly his expression revealed nothing of the internal panic raging inside. Something seemed to click again as the fae's eyes returned to his displaying disappointment before words came to reveal what troubled the mare. "I might love you." The wheels turned inside his head as things slowly began to make sense or at least borderline sense. The anger behind her stare earlier still confused him greatly but the worry started to make sense, his earlier words had been mistaken for a meaning lighter than what he felt. Yes he liked her, but it scared the hell out of him to think that he might love her as well. He was the son of a rapist, surely it was very bad for him to love someone when he could very well hurt them. The realization made his mind fuzzy and his limbs numb yet he remained rooted to the spot like a tree a picture of calmness. Calm was the last thing he felt at this moment!

Love....him?? Was it even possible for a monster to be in love without causing chaos and destruction? His heart pounded in his chest the blood thrumming in his ears loudly. If his cheeks could turn beet red they would have as nervous energy collided with embarrassment. "I..I know..I mean I know what you meant before when you said it." He stammered a little awkwardly grasping for the right words. " I feel the same way...about you. I didn't know if you felt the same way so I didn't mention it earlier. I really like..love you.." Dipping his head slightly towards his chest he felt his temperature spike as if he was standing beneath the direct rays of the sun. The word love felt strange to say out loud but it felt right, he just didn't know if he should allow someone to get close to him. He was scared, he had no idea what would happen next or what he was capable of.

She stood rooted to the spot butterflies of fear fluttering in her chest as she watched him waiting nervously for his reply. Her bright honey brown eyes roved over his face slowly searching for any sign of well anything really. His calm fave only made the butterflies flap frantically gently assaulting her nerves. She waited for what seemed like forever before his deep voice sounded again. She felt foolish for assuming he had misunderstood her meaning, but it happened sometimes, right? She couldn't help the soft encouraging smile that spread over her muzzle at his stammering. Then he said that one little word and her knees turned to water while her heart tried to escape through her now open mouth. 'He.. he feels the same way...' She though almost stupidly as the meaning of his words slowly sunk into her mind clicking into place.

She stood before the handsome dappled stallion watching as his head dropped to his chest arching his neck. 'Gods he is gorgeous.' She thought not at all embarrassed in her own mind, but she felt slightly guilty about the way her eyes slowly took in his muscular frame, lingering here and there. Strong cream legs closed the small gap between them as she attempted to touch her muzzle to his massive nose. She just wanted to stand with him for as long as he would stand. She enjoyed the feeling of love, and hoped it would last forever. She sighed contentedly as she tried to lean into his much larger frame. "I'm glad you feel the same way Ciceron." She mumbled lightly, just loud enough for him to hear. Then something struck her and she smiled as she pranced slightly away from him. Her warm voice swam towards him, "I have something to show you if you would like to see?" She pranced in place playfully, unaware of the turmoil in Ciceron.

Snapping himself out of his momentary awkwardness his head lifted as his eyes scanned over Parelia's face trying to judge her reaction to his own comment. The silence was unnerving causing him to want to fidget in the attempt to settle his fiery nerves. How could someone like her even like someone like him? Was he worthy of such affection or such an opportunity? What was he going to do? Many questions relentlessly pounded the back of his head trying to find impossible answers. The very thought of accidently hurting the beautiful girl made him sick to his stomach, he could never live with himself if anything happened. Waves of tension fluttered nervously through his body as he mentally tried to figure out the right thing to do. If he could manage to walk away now it could save her a lot of grief later the only problem was he could not just walk away. His words had been true and spoken from the heart it was too late to take them back now. Finding only one option he let the decision sink into his head taking a calming breath in the process.

The last thing he could remember after that was feeling the touch of the fae's skin against his before he was lost. Maybe he was dreaming as all of it seemed too good to be true but as he opened his eyes Parelia was before him right where he had thought. Sighing softly a smile turned his lips up as his heart pounded in his chest. This was actually real, what he felt was something beyond a dream.

Watching with contentment he tried to push all the other thoughts down so they would not interfere or contradict his decision to let himself be with the fae to make them both happy. The warm voice met his ears eagerly tuning to her words immediately. Lifting a eyebrow with a soft chuckle he watched Parelia's sudden burst of energy with amusement wondering what she was up to now. " You can show me anything you would like you don't need to ask permission. I would love to see whatever it is as long as you don't go back in the water again. " His voice was light and cheery considering the clouds swarming his head. If the water was involved again it could wait for another day so that she did not freeze or get herself sick. Reaching his neck over her playfully lipped her shoulder moving so that he was beside her once again.
