Feeling the soft breeze of frozen wind twist his mane, he let his grey eyes scan the forest around him. Black towers leaned forward, watching as the wind picked up dead leaves into the air then lazily drop them back to the earth. Cautious steps led him further into the unknown territory. A new place, a new story. Everytime he came somewhere new he was always looking for the the beautiful paint he knew he loved. Although every time it was a disappointment. He never found what he was searching for. His heart ached for what he lost, his brain hurt from trying to recall what had happened that night, his body ached from never stopping to rest from his searching. A heavy black hoof snapped a twig in two as he carelessly moved forward. His powerful body shimmering in the winter sunlight.

Holding his head high, he cleared a path of trees and entered a small clearing. Throwing his head high, he stared into the sky. Watching the clouds move lazily across the dusty grey colored sky. Peaceful is the word that could describe such a scene, however to him, haunted would be a better word. Dropping his head to the ground he breathed in the fresh frozen air. Barkley loved this time of the year. When the cold seeped into his bones and made him remember the warmth of summer, when the snow lazily fell from the sky, and when dusk comes so early, blackening the night just like his heart. In the end, he had a lot in common with the season. He felt no warmth in his heart, just a simple beating organ with no feelings or thoughts.

Shaking his head, his muscled neck brought his head high as he once again scanned the clearing. Watching the snow start to make its way down to earth, he snorted. Letting his eye loss their focus, he drifted from the present and back to the past..

"Come on you lazy bum, lets get going!" The sweet sound music to his sleepy brain. Her sing-song vocals played with the hair resting on his neck as he slept. Cracking a eye, he saw her standing above him, breathing heavy and quite noisily on his neck.

"Your breath is always so hot" he had grunted as he drew his powerful body up, towering a good 4 inches over her 15.1 frame. He let his grey eyes roam her body. Standing only at 15.1 she was what he considered short. However her athletic frame and muscled tones was a perfect fit for him. He watched as her body shimmered in the sunlight. As his eyes traveled up to her face, he watched her blue eyes flash with annoyance.

"Stop you're staring, silly boy. Lets go before....

Snapping back to the present, Barkley narrowed his eyes and gave a angry snort. He hated when his mind went back to those days. The days where he felt everything and more. The happy feeling of love swelling in the pit of your stomach. The butterflies having a party in your mind. Never again would he allow himself the luxury to feel that. It hurt to much when you lost everything that was on the other end of those feelings. Snapping his eyes to focus, he watched the horizon waiting for movement to tell him he wasn't as alone as he truly felt.

Her wings spread out to full length, her body pushing from the ground as she took to the sky. Frostfall had finally come, her favorite season was in full swing. The cool air glided over her white feathers, gently ruffling them in the breeze. The cold invigorated her body, and if she could feel at her prime, in winter was surely the time. She giggled a little, enjoying the freedom from the crowded caves. The most spectacular aerobatic show ensued. Turns, dips, and even barrel rolls were just some of the highlights. It was the most fun she had in quite a while, ever since this whole wraith thing started. It was just so fun to be out here! I mean, it was winter, and winter was her thing!

A little exhausted, she took to the ground. Her feet alighted the ground, and not in the quietest way. Lots of sticks and crunchy leaves made her presence loud and proud. She smiled, pleased with the otherwise perfect landing. If there was one thing she needed to become graceful at, it was the landings. Happy as can be she trotted about, eager to find anyone here. She had met lots of newcomers while exploring, and although she always had to break bad news, she was able to deduce this place was safe. There was no reason to rush through introductions anymore and she could get to know these new horses.

The trees thickened a little, as she weaved in and out. Then suddenly, it thinned out and a clearing was set before her. Within the little meadow was an equine stallion. Much like the rest of them, he was a normal coloring, bay by what she could make out in the bright sunlight. He seemed to be around her same height, if not extremely close. She offered a smile and approached carefully, still aware that you could never know what lies inside the horse in front of you. "Hello! Welcome to Helovia, my name is Elsa." She said in her usually cheery voice. With a graceful bow she offered her respect, wings extended slightly for balance.
