Sunchaser dozed in the warm sunshine.Sun loved the sun, hence her name. The wind blew against her fur, making it feel like a horse nuzzling her.She closed her eyes in bliss. She suddenly opened her eyes, hearing the sound of hoofbeats.Sunchaser bobbed her head, ready to run for no reason.Just for fun.She raised her head and one of her hooves, and bolted away, the wind clawing at her mane. She tossed her mane.Suddenly she bumped straight into a horse."I'm sorry,"she said."Did I startle you?"she smiled."I'm Sunchaser.Just call me Sun."

Another day. Boringly hot. A solder stood near the edge of his clan’s territory. Golden orbs lingering on the green grass that lay just beyond; by greener he didn’t mean better, but merely greener. His homeland was an eyesore to most that bore gaze upon it, but not without a haunting beauty that only a dust born stallion or mare could see. An afternoon sun beat down without taking thought of how hot it must be for those that lingered below, sweat and desert dust lingered across his ebony—ivory flesh.

Even the heavy appendages that gave so much joy felt like a hindrance this day, spreading them forth he flapped weakly and nearly groaned when a welcoming breeze of hot air presented itself. Mind turned elsewhere with orbs glancing toward a cloudless heaven, squinting against the sun. Memories and thoughts took hold of a normally agile beast; he didn’t give notice toward a smallish equine that was steadily approaching until she was nearly upon his thighs.

Grunting hoarsely, his body rose in surprise with neck twisting down and flattened incisors widening past coal colored lips. Flight ridden limbs extended to full width and shadowed what lay below. Narrowed orbs darted to the little mare, her essence sprang forth between flared nostrils signaling that she was alone and without named herd. "I'm sorry," tinkling words lavished out, it sort of reminded him of exotic birds chirping, but he wouldn’t be one to point that out. "Did I startle you?" Limps pushed body forward gracelessly; landing with a small, ‘thud,’ using the word startle was a bit of an understatement.

He should have been more focused, "I'm Sunchaser.Just call me Sun." The little outsider didn’t appear to miss a beat. She rattled out a name and even inserted a nickname, with calming nerves still edging toward slightly elevated he rasped out dryly, “I am Midas, and this,” gesturing to a the huge span of nothingness, “Is Dragons Throat, your run has led you beyond the free land.” Wings took moment to fold neatly while he spoke and limbs settled themselves, “Though it is a pleasure to meet you,” vocals had finally found proper slot for reasoning with surprise falling toward a wayside, “I must insist that we travel back to the boarder,” it wasn’t his place to offer position in the clan without the permission of his betters. But if she sought then he might put forth effort to find them and allow their judgment to be placed.

The outcast stallion galloped through the Throat. The sun gleamed on his bay coat, warming him up. He tossed his head and went even faster. His hooves pounding the solid earth below him. He loved the feeling of the wind in his mane, loved the smell of the palm trees near by. He sped up, wanting to clear a hole in his path. He leaped up, clearing the hole. His hooves touched the earth with a loud thump He skidded to a halt in the nick of time. A winged stallion and miniature horse were blocking his path. He looked at the two."Can you guys excuse me? I'm trying to enjoy my gallop, and you're kind of blocking my way..."The stallion trailed off. He stared down at the small pony. He snickered, small things always made him snicker.

The stallion looked at the winged horse. He had always wished to have wings. He shook his head, clearing the thoughts, pushing them deeper into his head, locking them up in an iron cage where he collected his unwanted thoughts.

The stallion stomped his hoof, straightening his neck, his impatience growing like a blazing fire in a forest full of dead trees and leaves. He tried to hold it in, but it was pushing him away. This time the stallion's mind was winning. He forced himself to stop thinking about it, looking back at the two equines. This time he stared at the small mare. Her coat gleamed in the sun, he kept himself from snickering again. He put on a straight face and gazed at the two.

Sunchaser knew she would look stupid, but how dare him!"Quite arrogant, aren't you?"Sunchaser bit back another angry sentence.Just because he was bigger than her, didn't mean he could act like a jerk!Maybe she should teach him some manners....But Sun didn't feel like picking a fight. She inhaled, regaining her dignity."My name is Sun by the way.We would be glad to move,"she said, almost adding,"so you don't need to act tough."She viewed the chestnut brown stallion. He was quite handsome.....and big.Sun respected big AND little horses. She was glad though, that she didn't rear while chewing him out.She had done that last time, looking like a silly filly mad because she lost at a game.Sun wondered why people liked to pick on her.

The sound of rumbling hooves ignited his attention and turned skull and attention away from the smallish female. Orbs turned to see the sight of yet another equine, larger than the first and male. Their new company seemed to be jutting toward them at a steady canter, an annoyed snort shook past widened nostril of the golden lad. Stepping forward openly, Midas took stand to confront. The veins along muscular flesh tightened and rose a notch. A breathless leap and said bay was nearly nose to nose with a frustrated Throat solder, "Can you guys excuse me? I'm trying to enjoy my gallop, and you're kind of blocking my way..." Jaws opened to rebuke an obvious mistake, but were forced pause by Sun who seemed to be highly optioned upon matters of chivalry.

"Quite arrogant, aren’t you?" Snickering mark of humorless intent was plastered across stranger equine male.

Eyes rolled so far back into his skull that he could almost swear to see mane growing, this conversation was testing patience. "My name is Sun by the way. We would be glad to move," Midas didn’t give a mini inch, skull remained firmly in place with cooling tone sliding forth to give correction, “You have traveled beyond your boundary,” feathers shifted uncomfortably as a hot desert breeze picked up, “I will escort you both back to the wild lands, this is Throat territory.” Since both were flightless and one shortened by breed, he would have to walk the pair back. Good thing patience was laced within his every step in life.

The stallion snorted. His hooves swiping the ground. His impatience was now growing, no matter what he did. He tossed his head, kicking up dirt as he did so. "Just passing by, no need to escortme any where. I'm just heading across the Throat, so can you just let me through. "The stallions' eyes narrowed, waiting for the winged stallion to move.

The stallion stomped his hoof, this time rocks flew out from under his hooves.

He felt the air dry up from the heat of the sun. The last of the clouds moved from the sky, the sun's rays beaming on the earth, boiling his skin. The perspiration leaked from his skin, coating his coat in a thick, sticky mess.

The stallion stared back at the little mare. Had he heard right? Did she call him arrogant? The stallion threw up his head, angered by the small mare's comment. He waited for the two horses to move for him.

Sun stepped out of the way after a hesitant pause of decision, hoping that Midas would do so as well.Sun waited for the stallion to go.So arrogant and such a bully! And rude!Sun muttered those curses under her breath. The big bay stallion had strong muscles and round muscular hindquarters. He avoided eye contact for a while.Maybe he was rejected. He was handsome but he had a mean personality. But Sun would not judge him until she fully understood him. That was Sun's best character trait. She made she she understood another horse before judging them. But if they insulted her,she didn't care about their personality. She would try to show them who's boss as swiftly and kindly as possible. No one needed to insult her.It was unessesary.

Midas couldn’t fathom where the older equine had suddenly gotten the idea that traveling across taken land was something of a normal occurrence. Unless one was invited to spend time in said territory, entering areas that bore ownership was considered trespassing. This Pegasus hadn’t been informed of higher arrangements that would allow a random equine entrance, so instead he fell toward an original plan of rejection. A haughty glance from the bay informed him that this little meeting was about to turn sour even before a sentence of stubborn refusal sprang forth. Lids narrowed and velvet auds flicked backwards in obvious show of disapproval.

"Just passing by, no need to escort me anywhere. I'm just heading across the Throat, so can you just let me through. "

Hauntingly soft but chilling in tone he uttered firm response, “I’m afraid I cannot allow that.” Like hell he was going to let this overly pumped man stampede through his territory. Midas wasn’t aware of inner intentions that said equine might have, and wouldn’t have dreamed upon taking chance in letting a mere stranger infiltrate his family. The little mare stood close by, but since Sun wasn’t causing problems from him. Midas let her fall from his mind for a moment and total attention twisted toward their unnamed company that was failing to comply, “My words are not a simple request or wish, but an order,” flat ivory snapped together, right foreleg rose with a single hoof lifting only to plummet down with mating intent upon earth, “Leave now!”

Patience was stretching beyond the point of his leash, snapping and snarling at the end of a rusty chain. Appendages widened with impressive snow-white feathers totally unfurled, shielding the little mare from view and giving a final warning. Normally a creature of gentle speech and manner, Midas was usually slow to anger, but also quick toward protecting who and what he valued most. Even now sunlit orbs held restrain, but with sparking intent blazing in depths; if the bay pressed forward then it would be shared blood spilled this day.

The stallion flicked his brown velvet ears back. His eyes narrowed. He was getting impatient. This time, his impatience swallowed him up in burning flames. The stallion stomped his charcoal hooves, his withers twitching with impatience, he bared his teeth, arching his neck. He wasn't afraid to attack."All I need is to pass, that's all I ask, this is your final warning to move. I'm not going close to your herd. I'm just passing by."The stallion wasn't afraid to shed some blood to get on with his way. He watched the stallion, then he glanced at the small mare. He watched the other stallion pull his white wings in front of the tiny mare.

The stallion saw his chance. The stallion launched himself forward, his haunches releasing him forward, his hooves pounded the ground, he swerved around the two, hoping the winged stallion wouldn't try to bite his or stop him. The stallion felt the adrenaline rushing through his veins, his legs pulling him forward, hoof in front of hoof.

Sun didn't know anything about fighting and she couldn't believe she was doing this.Sun twisted around and gently bit Tisco's ear.She would be gentle only for a little while. With her ears flattened back Sun recoiled, ready to strike again if need be.She would just hold him off until Midas prepared a strike. It was his herd so she would let him do the fighting.Sun screamed at Tisco, warning the large bay stallion not to move again.Sun was small, but dynamite comes in small packages.Sun was mostly trusting with other horses. But if they messed with her or her friends,Sun would be prepared to fight.

Raised voices and arguing brought the mare to the group that had gathered. One of them was a herdmate and two of them were individuals she had never seen before. One, the larger stallion, smelled of many different lands, which told her immediately that he was an outcast and didn't belong there. The smaller mare also smelled of several different lands. She didn't belong there either. And they had the nerve to demand passage through the Throat and even threaten her herdmate.

"No." The mare said as she came to stand next to Midas, her crimson eyes flashing dangerously as she looked at the intruders. "This is your first and last warning. Leave now or your bodies will rot in the place you stand." Her ears tilted back and her tail lashed against her hocks in annoyance as she stared down the stallion and the mini.

Pregnant she may be, the gentle swelling of her sides telling the tale, she was still a warrior at heart. She would still defend her home against those that didn't belong there. Her muscles bunched, her magic barely contained as she stared poisonously at the two who were so demanding.

Tense shivers ran along his spine; he had played the gentleman card, and even moved toward a firm approach. YET, foolish colt refused to budge toward proper footing. Each overly worked up motion was calculated with care by golden hues. Flexing of muscle and shifting of hip soon gave hint to weak points from which Midas would strike. The sunbaked equine was easy to rile into a state of fury; anger misplaced was in his mind was a weakness. Unrestrained thinking can take ideals and concentration into places one might not usually go during the heat of battle. Stomping hooves and flashing ivories did nothing to daunt said golden stud from task at hand, a warrior feared nothing of pain or death.

"All I need is to pass, that's all I ask, and this is your final warning to move. I'm not going close to your herd. I'm just passing by."

Auds touched his cranium by now, breast heaved with an unrestrained grunt of pure annoyance. Did this whelp actually understand what he was getting into? Midas thought not, words bottle necked in his throat as the stranger sprang toward a childish end. Something akin to a growl and whinny escaped between clinched jaws, neck twisted to follow with skull stretching out. Frame curled upward, hindquarters splayed for balance and control, flailing forelimbs with sharpened desert hooves flashed skyward in expected direction. Hocks tensed and recoiled, with belly turned at a tight angle; mighty wings flared to further add toward stability giving Midas the chance for a clean strike across the foes withers or thigh.

He wasn’t in a position to see Sunny’s attack, which it would have mattered little overall. One could only hope that the miniature pony was smart enough to stay out of this squabble. Flared nares traced another fragrance, this one common and well known. Ktulu.

“No."

Biting in tone, yet musical all the same he heard her voice and gave pause with body lumbering toward earth. She had managed to hold the stranger for a moment. Level horn catching the sun with angle ready to draw upon the color crimson; by her essence and plump curve of loin, he knew that growing inside her, was a babe.

"This is your first and last warning. Leave now or your bodies will rot in the place you stand."

Neck snapped forward to attempt at landing a smart blow across fleshy darkened thighs. Yellowed molars angled out to offer proper correction in chance that words wouldn’t sink between a thick skull.

OOC: I wasn’t sure if I should write an attack addition. So I did it anyways. >_<

Attack: Body is twisted at a sharp angle with forlimbs riding air in hopes of crashing down hoof first upon spine, withers, or shoulder. Teeth are flashing at thighs, aiming to nip firmly enough to cause pain and discomfort.

Defense: Body is twisted during attack, with hindquarters widened to offer balance. Wings are flared outward to aid in stability as Midas leans forward. Ears are close to skull for protection.

The stallion was surprised by the small mare that had nipped at his ear. She hadn't done anything but pull a few hairs. He flicked his ears back, letting them lay flat on the back on his head, so no more damage could be done to them he tossed his head.

Then a swollen bellied unicorn mare appeared her words barely bothered himNo, you're body will rot where you all stand. The stallion thought to himself, his teeth bared at the swollen mare.

The winged stallion, Midas, attacked. The stallion dodged Midas's first attack, but he was nipped in the thigh. The stallion kicked upward, aiming for the pegasus stallions' jaw or throat. The stallion then whipped around, launching himself forward, aiming for the soft underbelly of the stallion. He then faked it, and aimed for one of the golden tipped feathers on the stallions' wings. He reached his neck up, making sure his stomach and throat were unreachable by the other stallion.

The stallion turned to the unicorn mare. He could guess she was pregnant by her shape, and he launched himself at her, his teeth bared, aiming for her neck. As he did so, he forced his hooves towards the mares' swollen belly, twisting his head, trying to avoid her horn.

The stallion glanced at the tiny mare. He bared his teeth, showing he wasn't afraid to attack the small mare, who would've been no chance for the stallion.

The adrenaline pumped through the stallions veins, even though the dark red liquid leaked slowly from his small bite wound at his thigh, the stallion couldn't feel it.

OOC: The fight is on!>=)

Attack: Tries to kick Midas's throat, and also tries to bite a few of his feathers off. Also attacks Ktulu by nipping her neck and slamming his hooves onto her stomach area.

Defense: Keeps stomach and throat away from Midas as he attacks, and twists neck when attacking Ktulu to keep her horn from piercing him.

A broken heart is also volatile, prone to quick and rash actions. A broken, volatile heart that is watching her sister become threatened is now a tool of war. The pale mare approached her home after some time of gaining valuable information, and she saw two strangers confronting her sister and another - a pegasus who obviously belonged.

With ears pinned against her soul, the tall mare's cloven hooves carried her swiftly and quickly to the site of the confrontation, and she slid to a stop beside her sister, lifting her neck in a menacing way to display the spiraled, sharp horn atop her brow.

Battle begun quickly, and Ophelia threw her figure into the fray, picking up her fore hooves and lashing them out. The bright sun caught the crimson accents of her mane and danced on the white of her pristine coat. Sternly, she shot the newcomer, a bay equine, a stern look with her dual colored eyes. "There is nothing to the south but the ocean," she growled through bared teeth, her strange eyes boring into the stranger's. "You are trespassing, and threatening my sister...."

Ophelia turned her body and leveled her horn at his heart. "Do not tempt me to kill you, trespasser..." she hissed, her tones eerily calm. "I will."
