"Where brilliance is good and madness is better..."
Helovia Info
Helovia opened in February 2012! We are an active fantasy equine RPG
Where once the world narrowed into naught but gray dust and desolation, the gods called for life. Wielding the elements of fire and light, dark and wind, earth and water, spark and time, they have created Helovia. The realm is set within the mythical globe of Loorien, a planet rich with all variety of creatures and blessed with all manner of magic. Originally populated by nomadic, tribal characters, they've since grown into massive empires saturated with culture and history. Separated into four distinct segments of Helovia, called "The Regions," each band of horse strong enough and capable enough, took up the power and responsibility of leadership. Unicorns, old, wise and mysterious, took to the north, hidden in forests of mists and shadows and rarely making themselves known beyond their cliffs of the World's Edge. Equines, vast, organized and militaristic, split into two, one group went north to the Windtossed Foothills and the other group went south to the Dragon's Throat. Pegasus remained nomadic, making their homes in various parts of The Wilds in a migratory manner. For many generations, the land was peaceful and calm, but peace was never the way of the gods. With a clash of argument, war and bloodshed massacred Helovia, and in the aftermath, the realm was eerily quiet. Now, as newcomers sweep into this land, they are met with the lingering bitterness of the gods and the struggle to reclaim what was lost. Nothing remains safe or certain while sorcerers and soldiers alike brood and bide their time for revenge, honor and glory.

Doppleganger Plot ☼ - 6/20/13 - The God of Time is still struggling to close the rift though which the dopplegangers have come. He has requested that his brothers and sister assist in closing this hole, but without knowing why it opened, the task is proving difficult. Magic still remains faulty and hard to control, but the herdlands continue to be places of refuge for those who are fortunate enough to call these lands home.
ORANGEMOON cools off the lands with a a viscious force. Colder than normal, a sign of things to come during Frostfall, Helovia is bathed in a rich tropical lushness - albiet a cold one. The coastlines of the Dragon's Throat are pelted constantly by tidal waves, and the desert climate is humid but chilly. Ice begins to form early in the Aurora Basin leaving the winding trails slick and dangerous. The mists of the World's Edge coat everything in a glistening crystalline shine which encourages mould to grow everywhere. The Spectral Marsh is the only area which remains fertile, blissfully temperature and lush.

WEAVER, Corporal of the Aurora Basin, is a relatively recent addition to Helovia and has taken it by storm. Branded with the seal of Death on her chest, intrigue and interest follow both her past and present. Though she is assuredly beautiful, her sometimes sharp personality reveals that there is more to this uni-peg hybrid than meets the eye. Proving herself able on the battlefield in the Basin’s warrior ranks, we can’t wait to see her test her mettle against the looming Kaos happenings! Congratulations!

It had been a few days since she had departed the Edge a second time with a sense of finality, once again not alone in her journeys. But this time? This time it was a pleasant journey, not stained with fear and worry, hurrying from encroaching darkness at her mother's side, a bright piece of what they were leaving behind tagging along in their wake. This time she wandered south instead of east, letting her path wander with no particular hurry. While she still had a mission in mind, it was enough, for now, to walk the world with the companion of her heart as well as the companion of her soul.
It was in these wanderings that they stumbled upon something new and foreign to her eyes, yet obviously immensely ancient. It was the kitsune that alerted the mare to it, when he broke through underbrush in pursuit of a hare, only to scamper across the floor of an old stone structure. The shock of it was enough to make him stop and stare, the awe and surprise leaking through their bond so that the grulla mare diverted her path to investigate herself.
Soon her hooves echoed upon the same stone floor, and blue eyes gazed around in quiet awe. The craftsmanship and artistry that surrounded her were, simply, amazing. It lent a certain air of calm and peace to the area, magnified by the murmur of a stream beyond the fluted columns and the quiet whisper of leaves stirring in a gentle breeze. It had yet to occur to the mare to look up, for the skies above were overcast yet from an early morning shower. But that didn't dampen her delight as she turned back toward the one she knew would have followed her.
Together at last. He never thought she would be here, back in Helovia. Not only did he think that she would be here, but to know he had a soul and heart mates... Life could not be better. Alanna was jumping and playing like he had not seen in months. She was running and playing with Kaiden. Aaron meanwhile was casting glances, as if to make sure it was all for real. That she was really there with him.
It was then, as the kitsune alerted Kimber, Alanna alerted Aaron. Strange land. Old, very old. Aaron picked up his pace slightly, not wanting to leave Kimber very far behind him. She was his to protect now. He was not going to let her down. He was not going to chance leaving her for a split second, as leaving his sisters had been their death sentence.
His hooves hit the stone just ahead of Kimber's hooves. He glanced to her, watching her reaction. His brown eyes then flickered around the new land. In all his years here, why had he never seen this place before? Could the lands of changed while they were all underground in the caves? While he had been running in and out of Helovia to try and protect his sisters....
He stopped in the center, just standing still. Alanna felt the chance in his emotions and turned to look at him quickly. She let a short bark escape her muzzle before moving towards her bonded. What wrong? We have our family back. What wrong? Aaron just shook his head. I'm fine, go back to exploring. He took a few steps before stopping again. The memories of everything that had happened to the stud in the last few months hit him hard. He did not speak, or move at all really. He just stood and took in the new land.

Each echo of his heavier hoofbeats was more than enough reassurance for the grulla to know that her dearest was there, and lent an accuracy to her glance when she sought the sight of him. A quiet smile curved her lips as she stepped closer to press herself against his side, satisfied in the sense of completeness that swept through her awareness as she did so. Gently she lipped at his mane before casting her gaze around again, loathe to speak and shatter the calm with banter.
But the quiet got broken anyway, by the sound of a yelp that was quickly replaced with a splash and the clamor of a mother duck and ducklings swimming rapidly away from where ripples had only begun to spread. A breathless giggle drug itself from the mare's throat as she got a sense of what had happened. "Ground wasn't there when he expected it to be. Too eager in a new place." Merriness danced in her blue eyes as she stepped across the stone floor in measured steps, muzzle dipping in expectation even before the now-dripping kitsune came out of the underbrush, distinctly sulking. You had a rabbit for breakfast, you shouldn't be so greedy. Came the gentle and affectionate reprimand even as she began to help her companion dry himself off beyond what a thorough shake had done. But tempting! Was his abashed response as he stood there patient and tolerating while the mare groomed him.
Perhaps all she'd needed was this moment of cheer, for when she at last deemed the kitsune sufficiently dry and learned from his mistake and allowed him to scamper off again, there was no real hesitation within her as she looked back to the painted stallion. "Can you imagine what it took to get the crafters here, to create this? Stone, cloth..." it was the first time she'd thought to look up, and her voice dropped to a hushed awe. "Metals and glass. Aaron, look! Some glazier did that, its beautiful!" She couldn't, not yet, pull her gaze from the arching dome of multicolored glass and supporting tines of metal.

Aaron could not help but sigh softly as Kimber placed herself against his side. Oh how long he had wanted this. How long had he held these emotions back that suddenly seemed to run wild. The crush on Phi had been nothing like this.... This... This must be how his mother felt about his father. The very reason that when he never returned from fighting the shades that she simply seemed to give up. That had been where Azale had come in. She hadn't wanted to leave them alone. Mainly him at first, then after her one night stand with that pegasus that had two sets of wings... Well then it had been both of them. For a year or so, they were enough. Even as he had grown up and not really needed her anymore...
But when Azale didn't need her anymore things had changed. Almost back to the way it had been before.... Torasin had become her light in the darkness... Maybe they had been that for each other. That had brought Sakura and Takara to life....
Lost in his thoughts, Aaron did not notice Alanna joining Kaiden in the hunt as well. She however had turned her nose up at the mother and ducklings. After all, she knew the pain of a child losing their mother clear as anyone. She had felt it when Aaron had lost it. It was that slight pain that she could feel in their bond now that held her back. She instead watched and trailed behind Kaiden as he made his way back towards his bonded. But she did not run off with him after he was dry. Instead she lingered near Aaron and Kimber, ever watching.
"Can you imagine what it took to get the crafters here, to create this? Stone, cloth..." Her voice was like music to his ears. It snapped the knight out of his daydreaming that was slowly turning to a nightmare. "Metals and glass. Aaron, look! Some glazier did that, its beautiful!" "I wish there had been more time to make beautiful things like this in the Edge." What had him in awe was the simple fact of the different colors. How had that been done? Had it been other Glaziers? Did each Glazier have their own color? Maybe one day he would find out. For now he was just content to look around at the side of his one true love.
