The heat was minimal, the first traces of the season of burning leaves drifting in on the pleasantly cool air that wafted over the broken height of the wall he was working alongside. His tail swishes on occasion to strike at russet haunches, the only movement that seemed to stir the young man as he concentrated on the smallest shards of glass along the footing of the ruined structure. Nasreen had been right at the meeting – the bushes nearest the broken wall were mostly green and vibrant still, but occasionally the crispy remnants of one dry bush being caught by the rays of light breaking from the pieces and bursting into flames could be seen, and he had immediately set to work at combining the small pieces into transportable cubes to use later on.

He had two already, about five inches by five inches, stacked atop one another just outside of his work space. His length of transporting rope lay across his shoulders to be used whenever he was ready to pack up and return to his clearing, having completed quite a large section of the wall – surprised, even, as it would have seemed the shards would have amounted to much larger pieces much more quickly than they had.

The final cube glimmered into completion, pushed over into the pile with the rest and the stag lifting his head to take a breath and look around him at what he had done. This stretch would be safe from fires, at least until the wall crumbled more – hopefully by then he’d have more time and better help to get it all broken down and segmented and safely tucked away.

Something catches his attention in the brush, at first thought to only be the remnants of another blacked shrub until it glistens like obsidian in the light filtering from the overhead branches. His ears perk forward and he looks around him twice quite anxiously, nostrils quivering in wonder as to whatever is in the tree line. Stepping closer hesitantly with his neck outstretched to better his vantage without putting his body too close, his eyes bulge in fleeting panic as he notes that it is a collection of scales, the fear withdrawn when he notices that there are no bones and remembers that there had been no scent of rotted flesh.

More boldly, he approaches, the brush crackling against his body as he breaks a path, a smile finding purchase on his lips as he takes note of what it is he has discovered.

A suit of armor, crafted from glass tinted black and etched with rune-like patterns, artistry evident in its lines which clearly portray the illusionary figure of a dragon. He wonders who it is that has left it here until he notes that it is partially buried in dirt blown over by the wind, faint scratching indicating it had been moved from where it had initially been lost by some sort of talon baring creature.

Lifting it upwards with it clasped between his teeth, he is awed at the weight of it and grunts loudly, tugging several times before it breaks free of its earthly holds and dangles with clinking, pleasant sounds of glass on glass. He drags it into the light left open along the rim of the forest between the wall and the trees, laying it flat out on the ground to look at it better, his pleasure rising the longer he looks at it along with his curiosity.

Humming in a good natured sort of way, he rearranges it so it will be easier to get draped across his shoulders once he has the cubes tied in place, and he can get it all safely and efficiently back to his clearing. Turning to the glass and grasping the ends of his rope, he sets to tying them tightly, his dark lips working away in a rush to begin his quest to find the owner of the magnificent armor.

[ OOC: Chan has given me permission to find Lace’s old dragon armor, and so here we are! He has also cleared some of the debris from alongside the wall.

...jars make totally awesome armor tho *cough*]
