The GOD of the EARTH

So say we all

Today was an unseasonably warm day, and the Earth was glad of it. FrostFall would soon be upon them, and with it, the freezing of the waters and death of many. It was a time for things to introspect and work on their deficiencies, but it was also a time of great sadness of the God. He could not prevent the death of everything - indeed it would be useless and futile to try - but even so, each one weighed heavily upon his heart. And so, on this day of warmth, the God appeared.

He moved easily around the Rotunda, inspecting its architecture and the way the glass brilliantly cast patterns of light upon the grass. The simplicity of it made him smile.

Drug out from the drowning sensation that lingered about the Dragon's Throat almost constantly, heading northward to blue skies where rain didn't pound into her skin. Having once been so joyful for rain after the burning heat of Tallsun, this continuous onslaught was getting old. Today had been her break, and with the land bridge in water, only enough that one could see the floor beneath them, she'd found escape with her happiness restored.
Warm air taunted Frostfall's loose grip, laughing in the face of the freezing days and even colder night. Was it like this up north? No plans had been made to head there again, worrisome of if the rains went on, there would be no way of getting home again. Shivers sprinkle across her spine as she treads, even the faintest touch of cool air reminding her of the recent cold that had come as a repercussion of the meeting between two friends. Food is pushed down, or at least what she could find edible to her stomach.
The Rotunda pulls up on her, surprising while her head had hung relatively low during the stroll, lacking the time to pay attention to her surroundings. Someone had beat her there, moving about the structure. She's struck in awe by the height, a massive building of a stallion whom she's never seen before, or any so great.
For once, she doesn't feel bothered or misplaced in the presence of another being, instead a wave of ease sweeps her as if she was a child once more and in the warm hold of her mother. That was, back when she still loved the woman in a naive way all children have.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Soft, serene, different than what's had them be like in the past, an odd taste lingers upon her tongue.

OOC: No one has ever mentioned the appearance of a God to her before, therefore she's unaware that he is a God by seeing him.

“In a world filled with hate, we must still dare to hope. In a world filled with anger, we must still dare to comfort. In a world filled with despair, we must still dare to dream. And in a world filled with distrust, we must still dare to believe.”
― Michael Jackson

The wind whispered through the tree branches pushing Rei towards the Rotunda. How she wished the whispering would stop. It was an eerie sound. The wind mocked her and taunted relentlessly.

The last time she had been here the wind had been still and everything else had been in motion. This time it seemed as if everything else held its breath while the wind was in constant motion. It plucked leaves from trees and tossed them about swirling them around Rei. Closing her eyes she tried to block out the memories of her last time here.

It bothered her having a fear for such a beautiful place. There had been such a deep peace within her whenever she had been alone in the rotunda, the pegasus yearned to feel it again.

Snap.

Brown eyes sprung wide at the sound of a breaking twig. The whole forest could probably hear her heart pounding. Before landing near the Rotunda she had circled several times to see if anyone was near and there had been no one; so who was it that she heard now? How long had they been there? And there was the question that she was too afraid to even consider: Could it be the wolf-colt? Trembling the pegasus should have taken to the sky but fear had too tight of a grip on her to allow her to move.

All worries were laid to rest as her eyes came to rest upon the person in question. "Hello there," her voice shook with relieved laughter. Quietly Rei approached the stallion falling into step as he observed the rotunda. He towered over her but she felt drawn to him and therefore was left with no feelings of intimidation. "It is beautiful isn't it? Back where I came from we had large structures. But none like this. This one is much smaller, and intricate in a simple way." Once again Rei fell quiet, that is until she realized that she could have been insulting. "I didn't mean it was simple in a bad way or that ours were better back home! Just that the structure is nothing spectacular; that is until it is paired with the elements then it is suddenly extraordinary.

"If it wasn't for the sun shining down through the glass we wouldn't have the dancing of the colors, and without the vibrant jade colored grass the colors wouldn't seem so bright. In Lytninia the elements were being kept out, but with this they are invited in."
Blushing she wondered what the massive stallion had been thinking about while he circled the building. "Does that make sense? Or do I just sound silly?" Rei was still nervous and it showed in her overflowing of words. They fell from her lips haphazardly giving her little time to think about what she was saying and if it even made sense.

Summary: Rei doesn't know who she has bumped into and is just taking comfort in having someone else around while she visits the Rotunda once more.

She has no idea but she is going to want a wolf companion.

BLYTHE AMAYA
WE LIVE IN CITIES YOU'LL NEVER SEE ON SCREEN,
NOT VERY PRETTY BUT WE SURE KNOW HOW TO RUN THINGS.

» The chocolate mare had been taking her time exploring the lands, drifting to and fro across the borders of the open world, navigating her way into all sorts of beautiful landscapes. The leaves were in varying arrays of color, falling one by one on the slow walk towards Frostfall. Being in this land had been a new experience for her, many new explanations she had been forced to gather through bits of overheard conversation and through her own exploration. She was taking the long way around on her path to the Dragon's Throat. Rei had been kind enough to invite her in hopes that the leads of the lands (Sultanas, as she had recently learned) would accept her into their harem. She wished to see the lands though, and hoped that the delay would not be viewed as rude. Blythe was a curious creature and she felt calmer when she knew the lands about her.

» her curiosity was quickly drawn to the round structure settled deep within a copse of trees. "Oh! It's beautiful!" She increased the pace of her walk, drawing herself up close to the architectural marvel with a gaping maw. The kaleidoscope of colors was beautiful to the chocolate mare, her slow walk around the structure sending flashes of color to mix within her silver tresses. It was coming around to the opposing side of the relic that she caught glimpse of another being and was awed again, catching the flash of a smile on his lips. She didn't know who or what he was, just that he was... something. Something different, something else, but not something to fear. She approached modestly, bowing her head slightly in greeting as a soft song of words released from her lips, "Hello, sir, I'm Blythe Amaya." A small smile flitted across her lips, violet oculars closing for a moment as it spread. "Enjoying the day?"

» She took a step closer to the large stallion before a duo-toned glimpse caught her eye. "Rei!" Blythe was surprised that they had ended up in the same place once more. More so, she wonder how Rei had arrived here so quickly, then remembered. Oh, yes, wings. She laughed softly to herself before bobbing her head in greeting to the appaloosa mare, then another to the other unseen femme. Greetings, both of you." She smiled at each in turn before looking back to marvel at both the large structure and the stallion.

http://helovia.net/showthread.php?tid=15...#pid112467 - I'm not entirely sure how to do this, but Blythe is seeking [Companion | Silver Fox (Kit)] or [Magic: Earth x Light | Ability to heal small cuts and scrapes on others], if allowed only one choice, seeking the companion.

edit: added last paragraph to make up for seeing the other two mares.

The queen moved south. North had been kind to her, a gift from an orb bestowed upon her, and she had made it back to the island, but with the island being home as much as the lands of the Edge, the queen had moved on, still avoiding Kaj like the plague. The problem was that seeing him meant she needed to give him an answer, and giving him an answer… Well, she just didn’t have the answer she needed for him yet.

She had tried- she’d tried so hard. Philosophical discussions with Thranduil, with Parelia, with Bellona, trying to learn about the bond and her emotions, trying to be… something she wasn’t. She wasn’t philosophical, she wasn’t learned, she didn’t understand, and she didn’t go chasing answers to questions she didn’t want to ask. She wasn’t a queen, she wasn’t powerful, she wasn’t commanding, she wasn’t anything that she was pretending to be. “Who am I?” she whispered to the little blue that rode on her back, expecting no answer and getting none.

But the familiar twinkling of the strange Rotunda sprung up before her and the smile quickly returned to her face. And with the Rotunda, several familiar faces. Sikeax, who had been at her party; Rei, who had told a lovely story the last time they had met; and Father Earth. The mere presence of Father Earth brought a tune from her lips, one that he had created from the reeds and the waves, the birds and the wind, the trees and Hototo’s harp so long ago on the beach. But she still knew that song well, and she half hummed and half sang it for him now, lowering her nose in greeting to the deity. “Father Earth,” she said. Khan, on her back, added his draconian chortle to the song that the Sunshower sang.

At least in his presence, she could forget about all the stupid troubles that were weighing on her.

Fuck warm days, you think decidedly, as you trudge up from the sand. Your shoulder bag is newly stuffed with some of the last locoweed you suppose you’ll see for the season. Last winter was a pain in the ass, because you were stuffed in the caves and deprived of your precious drug. Just to think of the detox makes you shudder, but now you have your magic and you’ll never be sober again.

But now you’ve got other things to worry about- you’ve got to get back to that fucking floating island that makes you nauseous because you’re sure Snowflake is probably there, and you’ve got to make sure she’s not getting into trouble. Leave it to her to invite trouble at every corner. In your head, you hear the subtle laughter that sometimes comes from your boggart, a happy tone- she more than enjoys the fact that you have promised yourself to the white pegasus. She thinks it’s good for you, maybe even bringing out some good in you.

As you make your way back North, passing through the Rotunda, you almost swing wide to avoid a small gathering that has popped up; however, the massive beast with wings and horns strikes your fancy. You know him, seen him before in passing- The God of the Earth himself. You roll your eyes. Still, you’ve never shied away from a moment to go make trouble, and there is an appaloosa pegasus over there making a serious ass of herself. So with blood stained hooves (you neglected to wash them in the ocean), you angle towards the group, your booming voice directed towards Rei in particular.

“Well you’re kind of a depressing bitch, aren’t you?” You guess you should have been nice, since the god is around and everything, but false niceties are probably as bad as being a dick. Hopefully the god agrees. Distancing yourself from the group, especially the humming paint mare with the dragon, you linger around to see what will happen.

He’s not really on any particular gathering mission on this afternoon, but on the rare occasion that the Edge grows too droll and he cannot sit still any longer, he often goes out searching for things that could be of use in his crafting. Today, he’s angled himself southward and out towards the sea, memories of Cirrus trailing along in his thoughts, as well as those of his shells, carefully stowed away back home.

It had taken a long while for him to feel secure in the knowledge that his things would still be there when he got back. It was not that those he shared the herd with were untrustworthy – for they were the opposite – but he had been raised around dragons; wild dragons, especially, were known for taking things that they found pleasurable to them, and it was not an uncommon occurrence for Dragomir to loose some of his treasures to the thieving beasts while out playing. It had taken a long time for that worry to ebb away when the dragons had been replaced by a herd of many, many faces, and he felt momentary worries like he did now less and less as he came to trust them all more and more.

His life was a simple one, and he was thankful for it.

He arrives at the Rotunda to find many people gathering nearby, searching them all for familiar faces to find Rei (one of Nasreen’s friends, talking away as she had been when he first met her) and Kahlua, another mare who had come to the black tent of the Edge for a gift from Nasreen nearby; some he didn’t know at all, but as is common with the man, he moves slowly in alongside the painted mare that he still loved – but couldn’t worship as he once had.

His smile is friendly and nearly explodes when who it is they are talking to falls from his Queen’s lips.

The Earth God?! What a fortunate turn of events! Bustling around with the locks of his mane where he has tied the glass pendant he had made for the man, he rips it free from the last few stubborn hairs in a rushed motion. The chortle of the dragon is missed while his blue scales or not, the crafter rushing to remember to ask his friend about her new bonded when there wasn’t a God present.

Falling to his knees, he drops the totem on the grass before the mighty shaper of soil, deep voice offering a gentle prayer where Rei offered many words and the skinny guy only insulted her. "Lord Earth!" he says to the deities hooves, gently nudging the glass closer, "I have made you a gift. I meant to give it to you a long while ago..."

His words drown out into nothing, washed away by anxieties and fears of being unfortunately undesirable to the God who had once shook the earth beneath his hooves and chased him away.

“Well you’re kind of a depressing bitch, aren’t you?” On a serene stroll, those words are out of place and they spark a slight anger within Dröm. She strides towards the voice, later finding it belongs to a bay, but the worst part is that he is saying it to her friend! Her ears flatten against her neck as she moves to stand next to Rei, a true friend. Dröm looks at the bay for a moment, not wanting to spark an argument or fight, she glances around. There are a multitude of horses around, none seeming timorous., but all interested on one particular horse. A large bay circles the Rotunda, examining it. This large bay is the God of the Earth. Dröm had a feeling she'd be seeing a lot of the god.

"Earth God," She dips her head kindly towards him. "Did you create this grand structure?" she inquires curiously. Had the structure always been here? Will it continue to always be here? Dröm would not object to removing it, just because she had been held captive in it by a very angry Lace. The stallion had tried to mend bonds, but their chances for a good relationship had been shattered once he had decided to lock her in the structure like a prisoner. Eventually she had left her prison, daring to make a bold run home. That stallion was not here. However, most here are equine, like he was. Though these horses vary in coloration. She recognizes none of them, but offers each a warm smile before her gaze is pulled to the Earth God's face. His handsomeness had not been noticed in their previous meeting, but her mind had been preoccupied with herd politics and new information.

Autumn always let the golden son breathe easier. Cool gentle wisps of air roll through the trees, and falling leaves brush against the golden coat like nature’s gentle caressing. It was in this season the gold walks about in the most ease. His head level and body relaxed. True, he had reasons to despise the season, as his last meeting with the damsel queen would attest to, but these were fleeting and once clear of the storm, easy to be put away. Now if was a symbol of the carefree and easy. His body walking through the forest with the same slow grace of the leaves falling about him. Even his struggles seemed far away. No thoughts of the Throat passed through his mind nor any deep mechanical calculations, it was a blissful moment.

And it was doomed to end. The breeze began to become thick with the scent of others. Stopping the golden reaches out to grasp at them, but finding them so numerous and thick he is not able to discern. Harks lift forward, but no voices swing through yet. Peaked curiosity then became necessity when he realized where he was. The Ancient Rotunda was just ahead, a grin lifted his spirit and at a smooth two pace, the golden son glided through the golden leaves towards the gathering.

Coming to the clearing the gold paused. The stone building stood like a lone ancient, strange, but loved by the golden all the same. Flashes of a proud simple minded solider, and a damsel queen flash through his head. The smile twists but no more thoughts of the past could be remembered, for there was far too much going on in the present. A proud amber mare, appaloosa Pegasus, and Holy- The golden freezes for a moment just to take in the enormity of the alicorn. It was a gentle giant though, his eyes are easy and nature seemed to flow about him in peace. The appaloosa mare breaks the spell, and begins talking incessantly. Others begin to arrive, some know each other. The gold notes them well, and minds over each of them.

Then she steps forward. The black and white coat was unmistakable, the damsel queen. The golden creature leans back. There was now more to lose in joining this party. He had been ever so careful to protect the girl’s image of her wounded, but wise solider on the run. She steps forward, the gold noting her egg had finally hatched into a damned pet. Joy, more creatures to stare hately at him. The damsel bows low though, and pronounces the enormous Pegasus, a God. Another, bay paint comes and falls before the God, offering him a gift. The golden son had never seen a God, but he was impressed. It was all he needed to pull him forward into the warm sunlight of autumn.

Standing off to the side the golden son stops and watches the processions, which now also included a lovely chestnut and rather rude bay, though the gold was barely able to stifle laughter at the creature’s retort. Would he go bow before the God of Earth? In the moment, no, but if the God happens to look away from the multitude and see this golden son on the fringes of the gathering, the twin horned would be ready to dip. He had never seen a God of this world, those in his had been harsh and virtually non-existent. Perhaps in some deep hidden feeling he stands to the side and keeps his normal ways for he knows not the gifts of Gods here, nor what holds so much sway over those such as the damsel queen and bay paint. Though, he would never admit such ignorance. For now, the golden son was silent and still, only his tassled tail flicking calmly at his hocks. A low smile rests on his lips and he keeps the ease his autumn walk brought him. A newly fallen yellow leaf resting, newly fallen, and yet retaining its simple grace.

The needs of my queen Sohalia and previous king Gaucho may have drawn me before back to the Throat, but now that I've completed my relevant duties, I've fled as quickly as my feathers can take me. I have no desire to linger there while my heart aches. The frown that desires to paint my lips is kept at bay, but no smile or other joyful expression is able to find its home on my face. A deep sigh as I walk through the land surrounding the Ancient Rotunda. I haven't traveled here much, but I know it to be fairly peaceful. Perhaps here I can find sanctuary, sanctuary even from myself. A thrum starts to rumble through my chest, and it occurs to me that this might be... Could it really be? A God who has touched the earth with his honorable hooves? I stop and wait for the thrum to lead me forward toward the presence. It rumbles through me again, and without thinking, I step forward, following an unseen path that I find leads me toward the Rotunda itself.

My instincts have told me correctly, and I see before me the God of the Earth, surrounded by several other mortals like myself. Only one is truly familiar to me. A few mares, a few stallions. But it's Sikeax that I recognize and feel comfortable approaching. I pull up next to her and nicker quietly, announcing my presence to the younger, aspiring healer. Gently I reach forward and touch my muzzle to her left shoulder. I look up at the great God and bow my head respectfully. I dare not speak. So many here, in the day, where they can see me, know me... And a God here to boot! No, my lips shall remain sealed as my more introverted nature takes over.

This is, however, quite the welcome distraction that I didn't realize I was hoping for, searching for. Whatever comes of this gathering, I shall thank the Earth God from taking my mind off my shattered heart.

Hunting for the next interesting activity to do. That's what I'm all about today, and it doesn't take too long for me to find such an activity. As I fly above Helovia, I spy the Rotunda below me. I think nothing of it, at first, because it's just the Rotunda. An interesting structure for sure but just a building really. What's much more intriguing is the gathering around it. A large being that I don't recognize for shit, and smaller beings.... At first, I think that there is one adult and many children surrounding him. But then it occurs to me that I see Thranduil below, his golden body with single dorsal stripe surprisingly easy to recognize when paired with double horns. I know he is no child - so is this? OH. I scowl as I circle overhead, my ears pinned to my skull. Another God. The last one I saw burned me with fire. Why is this one any better? And yes, my inquisitive nature gets the best of me, and I descend slowly, landing amongst the group - just apart enough to not smack anyone about the head.

I find the golden boy and move toward him, tucking my magenta wings against my creme sides as I stand parallel to him. He's silent, but a young, foolish mare, I do not know the meaning of silence. In fact, I'm a fucking chatterbox. "What's up Goldie?" I chuckle at my little joke, which really isn't that funny. I look up to the God and nod my head warily. "Yo..." I'm about to say something sassy, but as I examine the Earth God I find myself..... attracted to him... in a strange and confused manner. It's not the.. urge to get it on, but the simple appreciation of one very fine specimen. "You are one fiiiine piece of a--.. sculpted... awesomeness..." Oh hot DAMN those muscles.. and horns.. and.. green mane tips and shit. OOMPH! That's what I'm talking about. Not that sassy Sun God. Oh my, be still my beating heart! If you know what I mean. It's the simplest of love songs,

Shadows linger under the jagged trees, laughing as a distant sun struggles in vain to spear them. Caneo wanders a path of his own through the early twilight of the branches, blue eyes calm despite their rapid movement – left to right, right to left – ever watchful. He no longer despises the close touch of the forest with such a visceral discomfort, but he moves cautiously on the tips of his cloven feet, a graceful being glad to find this day a respite from the biting promise of inevitable frost. He does not understand that promise yet. He thinks the world is shifting back to normal, and he feels glad.

He knows this place. His long, quiet stride bears the sawhorse body closer to the glass rotunda, that witness of so many strange meetings, and he allows the course to waver there because he has no other place, really, to go. An odd sort of smell lingers on the air; he might call it the scent of the forest, but strong. As he wanders on the scent grows stronger, and the sound of hooves and muted voices draws his long ears forward. Caneo hesitates; he senses many others up ahead, smells their skins and tastes their nearness, and for an instant fear moves in his eyes and in the silver muscles underneath his skin – like water, rippling. Poised, he listens for a moment longer before he begins his approach. They sound thoughtful, and not violent. He thinks of the winged mare with the spear, of the child with the double horns... he places those thoughts delicately just behind the forefront of his mind.

What he finds when he arrives at the the rotunda is something else altogether. Many others have gathered. He takes them in silently, recognition twitching in his ears but gone from the cautious void of those hollow blue eyes. Rei; the winged mare from the Sun God’s meeting; a double-horned man from the Aurora Basin. Caneo blinks, and the tip of his threadbare tail swings unhappily against his hocks, but inevitably his attention threads past them all, through the crowd, to the massive creature inspecting the work of glass and stone.

        It is another lord.

He is not certain how he knows, except an ancient power trembles in the weight of its stride, in the deep wisdom of its eyes. It bears horns and wings and yet it wears them well, as if they were all meant to fit together, and suddenly before it he feels smaller and weaker than he does most times. Caneo blinks; his body shrinks as if he means simply to reverse direction and escape. Then he hesitates, and by force of will stands straight again. He does not fear this god; he vows not to fear so long as it means no harm, and his mind turns instead, keening, yearning to understand. Why has it come here? What does it want?

He looks at the others again, at Rei and the unicorn and the winged mare, uncertainty lingering in the pale light of his gaze. And quietly Caneo sighs, still unsure really how to act in the presence of a god; should he throw himself down, or cry out, or say nothing at all? He wishes to make up for the past transgression, even if that lord was different. He wonders if he has any business, at all, even daring to catch this man’s attention.

But something about the deity reminds him – just a little – of an era now past.

“Hello, Sir Lord,” he murmurs at last. Head up now, he does his best to meet the creature’s gaze – should it deign to look. It seems somehow kinder than the other one, though, and he feels at least as if he understands a little of this game, and what he wants from it. Perhaps, at least, if the god should look at him... it may offer answers. Caneo waits.

but it's all our hearts can take.

Chase the Wind and Touch the Sky

It has been months since I have wandered from the boundaries of the Edge. My little brother is riding safely upon my withers. He has grown in the last few months, but something tells me there is more to come. He's yet to speak, at least, I hope he will be able to speak. Has it really only been five months since he plopped his way out of that orb? He has been testing something strange, both on me and other small animals. I can tell me, because i've watched him with the animals. He makes a beautiful rainbow surround them, and sometimes either the animals scream in fear while still sleeping.... Other times they coo and make happy sounds like it's a good dream.. I think he does that to me too, as sometimes when i'm having bad dreams they change to good suddenly. He's not always perfect with it, but he is learning.

My hooves carry us back to the place we had seen the strange creature who had turned me down for magic. I just want to be able to care for my brother better. I hide within the Edge, because I hope no one will dare to touch us there.

By the time I arrive, many more had gathered here. Only two among them, do I recognize. The first of course is our Queen Kahlua... The second... Well I do not know his name but he is also from the Edge. I decide to move near him. It was his voice I had heard calling the one with both wings and a horn the Earth Lord. He is giving him something.... Oh, does this mean that he is of the God of the Earth. Suddenly find my voice, but it is only a mere whisper. "Father Earth.." I bow, I do not know why but I do. My front legs tuck neatly below me as Miles scrambles to keep his perch on my shoulders. My head drops low, low enough that the amulet that hangs around my neck hangs just above the ground. I wonder, since it's green like the earth if the Earth Lord gave it to my mother... Or maybe even her mother. Either way, I will show this God just as much respect as I would the Goddess of the Moon... Who if I understand correctly is the patron of our herd... So much to learn, and so little time...

The beauty does not pause to join all those who have honed in on the radiant building, all crowding around a towering figure. She presses onwards through the yellowing grass to approach another bulky frame, ignoring the presence of those whom she does not recognize. An orange gaze flickers to the side to rest upon Kahlua, but all the bird does to acknowledge the damsel is dip a sapphire crown.

The spotted cub trotting next to the peahen tilts his head in confusion. With a toss of her head, the bird draws her bodice up next to her Legatus, but her silent words are meant for the boy. I'm sure that we will have time to speak later. I have other matters to address today. A blue nose flits towards the giant's shoulder, unwilling to extend its reach to the brown mountain's peak. It is a brief greeting, but one meant in friendship nonetheless. I still don't know how I feel about you...

"Oxy." Her words are blunt, although not as gruff as she wishes them to be. Her gaze is hardened as she studies his glassy eyes. He doesn't appear to be in good spirits today. Although she had missed his beratement of the spotted doll something about his stare told the bird she had done him some wrong. A multi-hue neck twists so that the head upon it can inspect the crowd.

"Leave the girl be. Why is everyone gathered here? Who is that man over there?"

Voices carried through the dead forest draped in crunchy orange and brown leaves, twirling through the air until they found themselves in my gauged ears. "Errrrr." I groan to myself, ears instantly tipping back at the idea of what could be lingering up ahead. My walk began as a trip to the Thistle Meadow, but for some reason I found myself wanting to go and see this floating island that everyone else but me -apparently- has seen. So, here I am, wandering into a squabble of idiots, all surely trying to start a new little group or something along the lines of "togetherness time."

My tail arches behind me, the curled, damp ends swishing back and forth just inches from the decaying foliage below rounded feet. A well-beaten path that surely led directly into the mosh pit full of strangers became visible from under the shade of bare tree branches and I allowed myself to stammer onto it, skull lifting into the air and exotic eyes narrowing into slits as I search for the first signs of life. The voices still mumble and murmur, growing louder while I emerge from the forest and into the small clearing centered around the Rotunda. Immediately I freeze in my tracks, eyes still narrowed and ears laced back into my dreamy white hair.

I see only two familiar faces, and I'm sure that I only know the plain mare from crossing paths back home. There aren't as many bodies as I expected, but the ones that are here I only wish to get away from. Finally, my attention is directed upward from the dull glances of others and fixates on a massive stallion accented with both wings and the horns of a ram. His body is touched with the mossy tinge of the Falls in his hair and beard, his eyes alive with the same green shimmer. This is who everyone is looking at, and my conscience cries at me for not having met this man before. "Father Earth." A young girl announces, my right ear rising stiffly from my mane at the calling.

One more scan of the crowd allows me to spot the idiotic stallion I brought upon our herd and a multi-hued woman who I assume is his next "thing." An annoyed grumble rumbles in my throat and my scowl returns effortlessly, a deep breath and hard sigh only showing how disgusted I am with him for no apparent reason. Whatever it is about that sack of shit that I have always secretly wanted, I'm not quite sure, but two can play at that game.. Or is there even a game? Ugh, fucking a.

Along the edge of the group stands a yellowed stallion, proudly carrying two horns much like my own. "Perfect." I whisper to myself, lifting my head high and proud as I saunter along the outskirts of the crowd, finding my way to the right side of this stranger with dark arrows along his back. "Hi-" I begin, my raspy voice trying it's hardest to sound feminine and attractive. I look up at the feline tailed male with curious eyes, ears pulled forward in hopes of looking friendly and.. well, defenseless. "Mind telling me what's going on?" A sheepish smile pulls the corners of my dark lips up. If I knew how to bat my eyelashes and pucker my lips I would probably try that right now.

As ever, the God is surrounded by bright, wayward souls. The girl is surprised to see she knows some of them, denizens of the desert come to the woods; as she wanders between them she casts shy looks and fleeting nods, smiling at Andromeda, avoiding the stallion who burst cells in her blood. Many are familiar, but none of them are friend- none but the moonlight colt and perhaps, she thinks, the God himself.

They drift through the forest and into the crowd, drawn, as are others, by the presence of power. A flickering flame, she is hesitant, uncertain still in the presence of the Earth, aware of her outburst and alliance with his brother. Would he be angry for her harsh words toward Ampere? Would he find her wanting in her care for Natraj? The black boy laughs at this, informing her that if anything, it is he who takes care of her- he has none of her qualms, and as she hangs back he darts up ahead, weaving between long and thick legs to find himself at the hooves of the great god. He sits there, content, panting in pride; the mark on his forehead has not faded, and the girl thinks he is a smug little beast.

She pulls herself alongside Caneo, smiling brightly at the boy. No words are spoken, but she is glad he's here- the Earth is a good god to ask for companionship, as she knows better than anyone else. Black eyes return to the behemoth form, a soft hope for recognition blooming in her chest. She has not come to ask for a gift, but something occurs to her, a question which has troubled the recesses of her mind. She remembers another lost little boy, shy and sweet who she thought to defend. He was alone, just like Caneo, and though she tried she was never able to find him again.

She swallows deeply before pouring her black voice forth. "Father Earth," the girl asks, soft, "Is Hototo happy?" The girl does not think to ask if he is well, or where he might be- she merely wonders if he is happy, and hopes that the answer shall be yes.

I Ain't Got Time To Bleed

What is this gathering? I approach the rotunda. I gaze around me, those of all races surround me, and ages. But, as to what they gaze at? I turn my dark blue eyes to him. He is huge, and I am speechless by him. Who was he?

By the immense gathering of others, I assume he must be a god. He is vast, handsome, though winged, but power radiates from him. The same feel of power that radiates off the time god. However, he seems much different than the time god. He seems to be more approachable. However, he too was just as dangerous.

I remove my gaze from the god. He was wondrous, but mustn't it get boring to be looked at in awe all the time? I scan the crowd for a familiar face, no one, no one, wait. I catch sight of a golden bodied man, and I know who he is. Thranduil. I have only met the golden boy once, the same time I met Saffron. The tigress that now resides in the Basin with us. Slowly, I slink my way over to him, standing not to close, but close enough to keep an eye on him. My eyes capture the faces of those all around. Oh, yes. The flaxen chestnut I had met was here as well. Drom, was her name I believe.

My blue eyes look once more to the impressive looking god. Was he here on purpose? Was he just looking for a leisurely stroll? To be bombarded, by all of us lowly mortals. I wonder, should I leave? Or would I miss out on something great, and amazing. I decide to stay, watch how it all goes down, and to remain silent. Watch and learn as they say.

The GOD of the EARTH

earth god like quote here~

The God of the Earth smiled pleasantly at Rei, unperturbed by her simple, mortal mistake. He thought on her question for a few moments and nodded. "I see beauty in mortals using the elements to make something so grand," he agreed.

The God nodded to Kahlua, Amaya, and and frowned at Oxy. However, he accepted the gift from Dragomir with grace, picking up the glass gift with his lips and setting it in his mane. "I deeply appreciate this gift," he replied. "You are very kind."

Arvakl. He was silent to those who were silent, but a pegasus with antlers was incredibly disrespectful. Would she objectify others? The God of the Earth frowned. He shook his head. "You would do well to learn humility and honor in the face of any others. Your words do more damage and disrespect than you realize."

After the god glanced at almost everyone, he smiled down at Tandavi. "You should ask him that yourself," he suggested.

He looked toward the others and his eyes settled on Kahlua. Her heart was the most pure and innocent, beautiful like the fist bloom of a cherry blossom. "Kahlua, dear. Your heart desires such light," he said with a big, thunderous smile. "Tell me, what is it that you want?"

So sorry for the wait. Sevin, if you could please tag RE for a reply, that would be fantastic.

KAHLUA & KHAN
“Oh, that’s so handsome,” she cooed to Dragomir upon seeing his gift to the god, smiling to see that Father Earth accepted it willingly. She had thought of gifts to the herds and her friends, but she had never before considered giving a gift to the gods themselves. But now that she stood here and witnessed it, the idea seemed so very important. After all, for all the gods did to help the inhabitants of Helovia, there was so little the inhabitants could do in return. So, while she stood and the god addressed all the others, she continued to hum the song that he had played so many seasons ago, hoping it pleased him to hear it once again.

In the end, it was she that he addressed and the twinkle in her blue eyes shined ever brighter as her poor rendition of the Earth’s song faded to nothingness on her lips. A laugh was her response to his words at first, though, for she found his choice of words rather funny. “Actually,” she admitted kindly, “I think it’s the opposite of light I need.” Digging at the ground for a short second, she pulled a rock about the half the size of her hoof towards her and closed her eyes as she felt her magic flow through her. “I was gifted this ability,” she said as she opened her eyes and the rock began to glow with a gentle light from the electricity that was captured within it. “But I think I could serve my herd better if I could turn the rocks on and off when needed.”

Looking back to the god with innocent, hopefully eyes, she added kindly, “Do you think you could help me?” The thought that her herd’s affiliation with the lady of the night might offend the god or turn him off from helping her was far from her brain as she stood here in the presence of the massive stallion.
