For the first time, since he got to the Edge, the king’s pet wasn’t in a good mood. His life had, for a long time now, revolved around two beings; Master and Snö. They were his everything, his family, and he would protect them, give his life for them - but now he had to choose between them. Snö was leaving. She felt betrayed by her father, she felt like she didn’t matter now when the new little royal was born. Shortly after the little black ball was born Monster and Snö had found each other and the girl had told him she was going. He didn’t quite understand all her words, but he got the picture. He had looked at her, pain in his yellow and red eyes, and then he’d walked around himself a few times before he lay down on the forest floor. There he laid now, pondering what was the right thing to do.

Soon he discovered the only path to take; he was to follow Snö, keep her safe, and so he would serve both her and Master. Happy and pleased with his decision the Monster jumped to his feet and miraculously he remembered to pick up the black rope before he scrambled after Snö and her mechanical wolf. He still didn’t like the machine, but if it helped to keep his princess safe, he would let it be.

As soon as the Monster caught up with Snö and the wolf the trio sat of in gallop. The scruffy looking stallion turned his head back towards his home and had he been the dog he so often resembled, he would have yelped in despair of leaving his master. But he had a mission - the mission to keep Snö out of harm’s way, and if they happened to have some fun while he was at it he didn’t mind.

The sky began to darken and cold came with it, as they left the World’s Edge and entered Thistle Meadow. The Monster growled at the memory of Snö standing beside that Kri person. He hated her, the pegasus mare, he would rip her apart if given the chance.
The black brute looked to his young leader, a question clearly showing in his eyes. Where to now?

[ooc; Snö first then everybody is welcome to assault the runaways ;D]

It had taken very little thinking or planning on her part to decide that running away from the Edge was the right thing to do. The metal wolf at her side didn't argue with her about it and neither did Monster, but he hardly spoke anyway. She'd told him what she was doing, told him that he could come with her if he wanted, but she wouldn't force him. No, she wouldn't force her precious Monster into doing anything. Should he decide to go with her it would be of his own accord.

The little ice princess had waited to see if Monster would decide to come with her, but she soon grew tired of waiting and set off on her own. The wolf that Ulrik had given her would keep her enough company she thought. It was then that she heard pounding hooves behind her. Her ears tilted back and she turned, expecting to see her father racing behind her, but instead it was Monster. The girl smiled. She slowed long enough to reach over and nuzzle the monster's shoulder before they all set off at a gallop. Where they were heading she had no idea, she only knew that she wanted to get away.

Their mad dash from the Edge ended with them in Thistle Meadow. Snö stopped and looked back in the direction they had come from then at Monster who was giving her an expectant look. "We're going to the Veins of the Gods, Thais." She informed her friend. "It's time I spoke with the Moon God about magic."

From north a cold wind came, a cold wind in the shape of a pale equine stallion. He was an ugly one; big head, round belly and skinny legs, His eyes had a strange dim light in them and his mane was uneven from him scratching on trees. Ugly he was in more than one way, but he stood very tall, much taller than Monster, and young Snö would be dwarfed beside him. He came towards them, his sickly grey eyes locked on the little girl. He licked his lips and then he smiled, disgustingly yellow teeth showing. As he came closer the wind bore his stench towards the two unicorns and their machine. He paid the soulless thing and the pet monster little attention, he went straight for the girl.

He kept his big ugly head high and it was a certain swing in his steps, like he was about to do something exciting. When he closed in on the girl his smile widened and, still walking towards her he said: ”Hi there little girl! Are you lost?” His question sounded almost gleeful as if he expected and wanted her to answer him with tears in her eyes sobbing that she missed her mama and papa. The pale stallion sluggish eyes traveled over her little frame without him even trying to hide it. She would be a fine one, this girl. She had sass, he could see that, he was an expert on reading them now… the little ones.

The Veins of the Gods. Godess of the Moon. Magic. So many word the pet didn’t understand, but he saw the assertiveness in his princess’s blue eyes and he felt that wherever she was leading them was a place where she really wanted to go. A place where she could get something she longed for, and he liked to help her get whatever she wanted. The only word out of her speach that really stuck in his brain though was ‘magic’. He smiled at Snö and chimed: "Magic, magic" in his guttural voice.

Then something changed… It was as if the sun was dimmed and something terrible closed around the trio. The Monster felt trapped and he looked around. He saw a pale figure moving towards them, the smell of this it sent chills even though the Monster himself and he moved closer to Snö. The black beast pinned his ears to his crest and in their sockets the yellow and red eyes rolled. He bared his teeth and his blood red nostrils flared with his every breath. He would not let this stallion come close to Snö, he would die before he let him touch her.

The Monster threw a quick gaze towards the machine, he would need its help to take this brute down if they had to. The stallion spoke to Snö, not even bothering to look at the pets and Monster took a few steps forward in warning to the pale steed.

It was hard to miss such an ugly creature when it approached so brazenly. Though Snö found all equines and their buzzard brained counterparts all to be ugly and not worth the grass they ate to keep themselves alive, this one was uglier than any other she'd ever seen. A look of contempt settled itself on her face as she glared at the ugly thing. It's yellowed teeth had her stomach churning in disgust as did its bloated belly. No doubt it was full of some sort of parasite that would hopefully devour it from the inside out and leave it nothing more than rotting flesh and, eventually, sun-bleached bones.

When it spoke to her she lifted her chin defiantly and snapped her white tail against her haunches. Monster was quick to move in on the ugly creature and so was Tarak, her wolf. It growled mechanically, its jaws snapping shut with a loud clang! before they opened again to flash rows of scalpel sharp teeth. Ulrik certainly knew what he was doing when it came to creating a machine that would protect her from losers like this stallion.

"I think you've mistaken me for a child." She may have been little more than a yearling, but she had learned to take care of herself because of her mother. It was one of the few useful things the mare had ever taught her. "And I think you've mistaken me for someone who likes your kind. Your're mistaken in both instances." Tarak snapped its jaws together again and took another threatening step toward the ugly equine.

"I beg you pardon then, little lady." His voice had become dark and chilly. He didn't care that she seemed mature in her mind. In body she was still a child and that was the only thing that mattered.

She was not going to come quietly? No, well then he had to do it the hard way...

The girls pets were mere distractions to him and he wanted them gone. The power rose from within the ugly equine. His pale coat rippled and then the ripples transferred into the air sending out two shock waves directed towards Monster and the machine. He laughed a mad laugh and moved towards the girl. He loomed over her, blocking the sun and casting his ugly shadow all over her small body.

Then, like a wiper, he struck aiming to bite down on her crest. Fight little girl, fight me, I want you to do it!

Coming back from her visit with the Gods she was disappointed. There was no sign they had heard her, and she could not return well into the winter. She had a lot of mixed feelings on the matter. Would they grant her an audience then? Or give her a sign? She was quite doubtful and wanted to ask someone on the issue. But who? Descaro and Mauja were the first to enter mind. Surely they might be able to enlighten her.

Taking her time to return to the Edge she took no effort to control where her pillars took her. She eyed the scenery with a disinterest. Wasn't her life a pointless walk altogether. A snort erupted from her nostrils, when scents of familiar unicorns caught her attention. Thais and Sno? What were they doing out here? She had no idea, and picked up a quicker rhythm to investigate. Intuition told her something was up but she tried hard to fight against that thought. Thais would protect her and she did have that metal wolf.

Faelene would be horribly wrong. Loping through the meadow met with thistle after thistle she would see an equine use his magic against the girl's guardians before attacking her himself. She would not think she would charge for the miserable bastard from behind with her horn tipped, aiming to force it into his haunches while ramming her chest above his hocks.

In a second the smelly stallion went from unpleasant to threatening and Monster stepped even closer. However before the protective pet could do anything to keep the ugly equine away from Snö, he was knocked away by a wave of air. He tumbled over the ground, thistles stinging him all over his black body. Even as he stopped rolling his world was spinning and getting up, proved tricky. Furiously he shook his head and the image of the ugly one looming over his little princess turned Monster into the beast he really was. His eyes lit up and he lurched forwards at the same time as a black and red body shoot towards the equine.

Despite all his anger the Monster still found himself humming a tune he connected with the dark femme. He didn’t remember the words though and for the moment it didn’t matter. Faelene went for the bastard’s rear so the Monster aimed for his forehand. He jumped towards him meaning to slam his chest into his shoulder and then he aimed to bite down on the pale one’s crest.

Snö looked first at Tarak as he was sent tumbling away then at Monster who had been thrown away by whatever magic the ugly stallion possessed. Her ears laced back against her head and she looked at the equine hoping her face showed just how much hatred she already held for him. She was not scared. Not at all. He may have thrown Monster and Tarak away, but they would both get up and be at her side again.

There was another coming. She could hear the sound of hooves pounding the ground, then another set was added as Monster set in. The mechanical whir of Tarak was added into the mix, but that did not stop the equine from striking at her.

Young as she was, she read his movements and expected what was coming. Her weight settled in her haunches and as his bite came down she shot up toward him, her horn aimed at his throat, and oh how she longed to feel the warmth of his tainted, dirty blood running down the length of her icy horn and coating her face.

"You will die." She promised the stallion. He would never make it out of the meadow. Never.

The disgusting stallion didn't even have time to react. They all attacked him at once. Even a new protector appeared and he found himself overwhelmed.

He screamed when a gnarled horn pierced his left hock. It slipped in between his muscles, scraped the bone and pushed through the the skin on the other side. Blood started spurting and he kicked, feeling the horrible sensation of the horn rubbing against his bone before it slipped out with a sickening sound.

Then he was rattled by a powerful hit to his shoulder and before his bite on the girl had even landed the soulless robot was on him too. Roaring in confusion, anger and pain he threw up his head, but it had been locked between strong jaws.

He saw the icy horn of the girl coming towards him and in a second he saw all their faces; the children whom he had abused and then killed. He did regret it. But then the sharp point of the girls horn pierced his lower jaw. It came out on the other side of his head - right between his eyes and it looked almost like it belonged to him. Like he had a little, stumped horn.

Before he died he wondered how the girl could have had so many helpers. What was so special about her? Who are you? He gurgled and then the light escaped his eyes and his body became limp.

Horn would pierce, digging deep, and grinding against his bone. She did not care for the sensation, but it brought relief to flood her chest. Monster barreled to get the front of him, and she found herself looming back to get away from the bastard's flailing hooves. Snö's threat woul be heard, and the icy princess would make good on it. Tarak would jump at the pathetic stallion, and then she saw the icy horn sprouting through his head. Faelene reared up once, knocking her hooves into the side of his haunches for good measure they would not be out to work any time soon. He was overpowered, and out numbered.

The wicked steed let out one question, before he remained a lifeless waste of space. Crashing down, she merely stood back as his body fell to the earth. With her breath rampant, and damp sweat upon the back of her nape she let her eyes look to the girl and her pet. She had nothing to say, the girl had done well. It was not her place nor in her mind to scold her for being away from the Edge. She was a lot more grownup than Faelene had thought, she would give her that. A step she would look done on the equine if to make sure he was not going to come back to life. One night mare at a time.

He held on for dear life. Even when the body of the white equine became heavy and limp he kept his jaws around his crest. When he finally let the body slide to the ground the beast's jaws was aching, but he wore a big smile.

The pet then danced to Snö’s side and gleefully nudged her shoulder before taking a big jump over the dead body, to also nudge Falene’s obsidian neck. "Drip, drop! Drip, drop! Drip, drop!" he sang all the while, lashed his tail and threw his head around like a colt seeing snow or something like that for the first time.

He jumped towards the dead body, sniffed it and jumped towards Snö again. He gave her a big lick up her forehead, a gesture both disturbing and cute at the same time. Disturbing because of the blood that covered her face, but cute because he looked like a big dog showing his love for his owner.
