It was not awful here, though she never engaged in conversation with others, she'd seen from afar the fellows of Ophelia roaming. Watched with care in the way they held themselves and went about with their daily lives. Only noting a few things mentally, generally the fact that she was rather pleased with this valley they called their home. The Aurora Basin, a beautiful name for this beautiful place. Very well suited.

Darkened legs marched with a smooth and delicate beat. Traveling to the narrow path (in which she was having a hard time finding), hoping to spot Ophelia on her journey to the exit. Malificent had had a good visit here but it was time to see other places so she could make her full decision. Arriving upon a definite conclusion was a difficult task at times, even with as magnificent of a place as this, she still wasn't for sure if this would be a suitable home for her.

Home.. the word, the thought brings a pain to her throat. A hard knot that make her feel as though tears will fall from her eyes at any moment. Why was this such a horrendous feeling? Why did she want to live with others, when she has traveled alone her whole life and been very okay with it? These were questions that ran through her mind, daily in fact. Perhaps it really was time to settle and perhaps her heart knew this. Which brings her to being so keen on finding one.
__
And there it is, the slender door to the outside world. Malificent stands there, unsure of whether to go silently or wait til she perhaps spots the white lady and her beautiful companion Tinek. Ophelia had said she would lead her to the home of Cheveyo but it was something Malificent was unsure of. Only because it would take the lady's time away from her home, which she was sure was needed here. After all, Ophelia is the queen.

Upon pondering, she stands there. Mane flowing with the gentle breeze of birdsong and eyes watching the valley behind her with a neck bent ever so slightly to get the best view.

[OOC- tamme, if you are swamped with threads or Ophelia is not available to 'show the way' let me know, I'll just have Malificent ask for directions. :)]

Time passed on and deep charcoal eyes settled upon the lake in the valley. A heavy breath was took, then darkened legs pressed on. The softened ground that was finally beginning to gather a harder grip with spring's aging. Malificent mumbled a goodbye softly, promising only to return if she did not find a home better suitable for her.

Through the passage she drove on softly, looking to each side before she started her journey to find Cheveyo's home. Though she had no clue where to go Malificent decided to begin her search going south.

[OOC- I just went ahead and had her go on. I know you have a lot of threads at the moment. Short because I just consider this just an add on to the previous post.]

It looked so proud, there trotting beside him. The golden pinned his harks against his waving vanilla locks at the sight. That creature which moved without so much complaint beside him was certainly proving to be more trouble than he was worth. Feeding, cleaning, and just in general keeping the damn thing was worse than keeping a kid, and that thought especially made the golden pissed off. As for little Haldir, he was oblivious to the inner tension rising up in the gold, and continued to walk and run to keep up with the fast paced gold. The little dark spotted creature was just happy to be out in the world, even if he was ignored by the gold. The snow had been an especially fun discovery, but there hadn’t been much time to really get deep into it as the gold took off. Not wanting to be left alone yet again the fawn had bleated as he raced behind the creature, until at last he turned around shoved the fawn in front of him. That little creature had never felt his heart soar so high in all his short life as to be invited (sort of) to join the gold on a walk about the lands.

Still it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. The poor fawn had to run to keep up with the gold at times, and to his small body, so unused to the work, the struggle was real. Seeing the tiny creature fall more and more behind the gold did at last slow to a walk and at times waited for the small one to keep up. It wasn’t that he cared if the fawn kept up with him or not, but if that damn thing should die out here, other might ask questions. So, though very tired the fawn trudged on by the gold. They were nearing now the Arch at the end of their walk, and soon would turn to head back to the cave, when the gold stopped and caught sight of something curious. The little fawn was so tired he ran straight into the gold’s leg, receiving an angry snort in return. Further punishment was avoided by the continuing curiosity that was walking towards the arch.

A lone grey mare, slender but with some youthful grace walked through the lands like a leaf blowing through. Earth eyes watched her carefully as she paused by the Arch’s opening, only to begin to move on through. Snorting the gold shook those twin horns and moved after her. Was she here to spy? Certainly not, a spy would never be so carefree and careless. If she was a guest where was her escort? The situation needed investigation. The little fawn, awakened by this new energy followed with pricked ears and high heart. Perhaps finally something interesting would happen and they would stop running about! Slowing at the opening where the mare had just ducked through the gold called back to her. “Were you looking for someone?” Or something…The gold was still highly suspicious the lass was here for darker reasons, but didn’t let it reveal himself. Instead he stood outside the opening looking expectantly towards her. Haldir was much different story. His long fawn legs, though wide with weariness, bounced about with the wonder of seeing another creature as large as the gold. This one looked like that which they walked on, and he stood by the gold with wide dark eyes. His excitement only outwardly suppressed by their exercise. So as the gold looks on the small fawn gleams up to the light colored mare, with all the innocence and wonder his small heart contained.

Dark hooves beat against the snow that begins to form as she leaves the Basin. Head hung low almost as if she seemed depressed. Really though she was just studying the ground, thinking hard about the direction in which she came from. South was the way to go, she knew that for sure, but as for specifics she did not know. The thought of winding up lost in a land she did not know that was clearly occupied was a bit frightening. Just as frightening as the words that slammed against her eardrums in mid-thought. Malificent's muscles bunched into knots and her head swung upwards. Nostrils flared and hooves slammed to the ground in what seemed like hostility though she was only trying to halt herself to see what was behind her. Grey neck turned slowly to see what it was hoping that whatever was behind her was not here to swallow her whole.

In between the passage she had just walked through a stallion stood with eyes of white and a deer like creature beside him. How had she note noticed his presence earlier? Surely he could not have been hiding, awaiting the moment to feed upon his prey. Despite the wild thoughts that galloped across her imagination a genuine (almost fake) smile crossed dark lips as she slowly turned around. Her heart was still racing, fighting hard to contain it was clearly written across her face. Fumbling for the right words to say, as this was not a hard question, Malificent's eyes gather themselves over his body "Ophelia," she says waiting a brief moment before adding "the Lady of this beautiful place." gesturing her head towards the way he come from.

"I was hoping to see her before I head off to find," she pauses, almost finding it hard to remember the mares name "Cheveyo's home." Perhaps she sounds like some intruder to this stallion, who clearly seems that he has questions and needs them answered. "I came here to visit these lands before visiting all the others and making my final decision on where to stay." Calmly she squeezes her lips tight, slowly blinking a few times after forgetting to do so moments before. The more she speaks the less her muscles are bunched, relaxing after minutes that go by. Malificent was going to take a step forward but then chose not to, putting her right forehoof back to the ground, "My name is Malificent, though most just call me Mal, it is not such a mouthful."

The grey slams to a halt. The golden harks lower back in thought at her surprise or frustration? Though when she turns to look back the gold is a warm smiling stallion as before. His earth colored eyes sparking but nothing to be concerned about. The small dark spotted fawn at his side though was a different story. Little as he was the creature had been taught no fear and so boldly stepped forward, wagging his little tail. The flutter of activity, possibly violent if the fawn had been too close, was nothing more than a curiosity. He wanted to move like that! To slam his hooves and make ice shatter about. Of course he could not equal the power of a fully grown horse, but such science is beyond the grasp of his age. So he only moves in wonder towards her another step.

The gold looks down as he hears the small being at his side move, but does nothing to stop it. What that tiny creature did on his own power was not the gold’s responsibility. Instead he turns back and looks at the grey as she lifts a smile and speaks, with several pauses. Visiting the lady was no crime, certainly not for possible acceptance into their herd, but the gold did not exactly like find comfort her leaving. Once you enter the Basin it was accepted that you will stay, unless this new lady was more radical than the gold thought. Not to mention that having another so easily slip past the two iron horses towering behind him was disconcerting. Still we all must put on polite faces, so as she continues to speak the gold nods his head and keeps his warm smile, but says nothing.

Haldir can sense nothing of the tension around him. He looks from one creature to the other, looking at their different colors and horns. With curiosity he moves forward to stand only a few yards from her, his little tail wagging away. He liked this horse, she was very pretty, and certainly seemed as large and awesome as the gold. Still he wanted to show her, like the gold had shown him, how power he could be. He would make that gold proud he was sure. So rearing up on his shaking hind limbs he crashes his front back down with all the force his weary body could muster, sending one or two chips of ice scattering. Proud of himself the small creature looked up to her again, expectantly.

The gold most certainly though was not proud. He was just opening his mouth to speak his name when the tiny fawn finished his little display. Earth eyes narrow towards him, but then considering the company quickly readjust. Lowering his horned head the gold calls to the child. “Haldir…” The fawn spins around in the excitement of hearing his name. With proud high steps he moves back to the gold from where he had stood. The fawn stand next to him once more, but turns still to the grey mare. The gold thought, he must certainly have to do something with that fawn soon, this was getting out of hand. Again, though there was the present company to consider. Looking back up with a smile the gold speaks. “I am Thranduil, at your service. And this….is Haldir.” Again the fawn looked up with extreme happiness to hear his name, though seeing it being told to the other, looks over to her.

Even with the fawn’s interuptions the gold was not one to let something as suspicious as this mare leave so soon. “Our lady is rather new to her title, so you must excuse her.” In other words, her competence and loyalty were completely in question at the moment, though it did seem she had remembered the more important rule in inviting guests to this place. Had an equine or Pegasus shown up it would not have been just the gold greeting her. Even with this story though, and the name dropping the gold was set to ease. The potential had been far too great to see far too many things for her to continue and leave. So the gold, not one to get involved in these trivial tour guide jobs, shows an unusual kindness. “Perhaps, I can act in her stead?” He lets his smile grow slightly. “I wouldn’t want you to leave thinking we are but a barren frozen valley.” Though that’s exactly what they were. Stepping back the gold lowers his head as if to invite her back into their home. The fawn at this movement gets excited yet again and looks to the grey yet again with eyes wide with excitement at these new developments. How happy he was to have been bold enough to go with the gold this morning!

Malificent could not help but wonder how many different types of companions were out there. First Ophelia has a dragon and now this golden steed before her was followed by a small deer. In which the little creatures shenanigans were a little amusing to grey, she watched as he stepped closer to her. A tiny tail wiggling behind him that made the dappled's heart ache, she only wished she could feel as happy as he. After speaking and receiving a smile and nod from the stallion she took her attention to lowering her head at the fawn. Not to make herself feel less of a threat (as she could tell the fawn was not frightened at all), just to give a warmer smile at the creature coming towards her. She meant no ill will with her horns what so ever so kept them towards the sky instead. Tiny cloven hooves rose to the sky as she watched in entertainment the creature who seemed to be showing off. Raising a thickened neck to a beautiful curl that most Arabians wore proudly she gave a slight nicker of laughter, though soft and mumbled to not embarrass the poor thing, that was not her intentions at all. For the dapple grey was only amused.

Malificent's attention was paid mostly upon the fawn during his little show and she never realized the fact that Thranduil wasn't very pleased with his companions play. Nor would she have probably realized it even if she was paying attention to the golden steed instead. As a name was called though, her eyes quickly darted to the man in between the passage way. Watching as the deer scampered back to him proudly. Again words fell to the Earth around her and she simply stated with a kind voice, or as kind as she could make them sound "It is wonderful to meet you Thranduil and," turning her gaze to the fawn "Haldir."

Unsure of how to reply to 'Our lady is rather new to her title, so you must excuse her.' that statement, she cocked her head very slightly to the right. Perhaps he thought bad of his lady for bringing someone new here to experience this herd and then leave. She was almost offended that the stallion would think something like such, especially as the thought that raced her mind was, He must think I come to seek information to tattle to some one else.. Malificent was in no way such an awful person as that, nor would she want to jeopardize anything she was most certainly not involved in. As a matter of fact she'd seen nothing as she was here and kept to herself as the Lady had told her not to interact with any herd things if she did not plan to stay. Though perhaps he could have meant he was a little displeased that the Lady could not come to say goodbye. Still confused, she babbled quietly, "I guess she is excused?.." mainly the words were to herself but if the golden man was listening very closely it could have been easy for him to pick out her words.

Quickly her focus was regained on his new words and they were kind. Inviting at the most and as she was just on her way to travel new lands, dark lips parted to say something but instead came to say "I think nothing of the such of this beautiful land, in no way is this barren. You have a beautiful home." even though the stallion probably already knew and never intended for the next words to ever happen "Though I will join you back in, I have been requested not to interact with any herd business, because of my intent of searching the other lands here as well for a permanent home."

Pausing she followed his gesture and kindly stepped forward, leading herself back to the entrance "Perhaps you can tell me a little more about this home? So I can make a proper examination before judging without knowing." Raising her head a little more to seek the taller unicorns eyes. Hoping he thought no ill will of her or her actions upon choosing a home. Trully all she wanted to do was see and observe before making a decision, as things like such seemed hard and she had many different opportunities (or so she thought, this Helovia was rather occupied it seemed).

[ooc- I wasn't quite for sure how to play out the mechanical being, as I didn't know if they would try to stop her from leaving since Ophelia brought her in I figured it would be okay with the machine lolz.]

Though the girl was not much of the same mind as the gold she was a sweet thing. Having paid such attentions to the little fawn it was certain her heart was too easily swayed to be of the hardier keepers of the mountain. Perhaps if sweet thing (Lena) were here, the tour he was about to take this pretty mare on would more successful. It was not secret that for all his skills the gold was not exactly as polite and gracious host. So he ignores her comment on the lady, it is irrelevant. He shouldn’t be making excuses for that mare. The gold knew of no reason why she should not be here herself. It was incredibly rude to invite a creature and not greet them, though as seen before, the gold knows only to twist such manners to his liking. A walk with a pretty little thing, well, that wasn’t such a hard task now was it. That is as long as she kept her eyes on him, and not on the little fawn who still stood wide eyed at his hooves.

The small creature was utterly delighted to have had the mare’s attention and be smiled upon so. He had not been treated as such before. Honestly he couldn’t understand why the gold was not as happy as he about this change in the morning. The excitement was building so that even his weariness was wearing away. So when she spoke again, after of course a long moment, in agreement to join them, taking as a sign a step forward the little fawn gave a bound and tripped a few steps back away from the Arch, ready to lead on. The gold was more cautious. Though of course he continues to smile and nod at her compliments. Beautiful was not exactly what he would call it, though the lights which danced were like a gypsy traveler a welcomed touch of the notion. No, this place was deceptive, harsh, and frozen in sentiment, perfect keeper of the hardy, thieves, villains, and a few crazies.

Listening with care the gold notes well her reasons, and though the gold was always inclined to be distrusting, he could see no lie through her. Besides the Basin was hardly stupid enough to hide its secrets in plain sight. “Of course. However you are my guest now, be at easy Mal.” Turning and beginning to walk on, he looks back to see if joins him, smiling always. The little deer is most excited, he’s never known such excitement! (Since perhaps yesterday when he saw he was born.) Leaping out, and taking advantage of the distracted gold he dashes about before the two, kicking up his hooves in the snow, looking back every now and then to check that the pretty lady still followed, and saw his awesome moves. The gold, as said, pays no mind, and now walks by the girl. “Certainly. We are well protect by our mountains, but as you can see we also have our two sentinels.” Chuckling, playing his act, the gold adds. “They’ll harm no one who is not a threat so have no fear.” He looks on, with a wistful grin playing about his face. “Then there is the lake, which never freezes, and caves, which lines the valley for your ease. Our mirror which bears no reflection, is most curiously kept over there. My personal favorite though is the hot springs just beyond the lake. Would you care to warm your bones?” Look what a good boy the gold is being! Give that golden boy a cookie.

The little fawn was still bounding away. He could not understand what words they spoke but he glad all the same to lead the girl through this place. His little heart bounding with purpose and pride and showing her through his home. Of course he knew near nothing of it, but what did that matter.

His words reverberated against her ear drums and as he said to be at ease, she simply did so. Trusting far too easily now, not thinking that anyone in this land, that she found so enticing, to be liars, thieves, or anything that could harm her. Simply she released any tension she had built up and followed with care. Noting the fawns shenanigans that continued to play out before her, smiling as his happiness warmed her heart but at the same time scolded. Burned with a passion that drove her to find happiness within herself. Perhaps someday she would overcome her tiresome unhappy heart.

As began the walk, so did the golds words and she listened carefully. Drinking in everything that spilled from his lips. Curiously she looked back to the two machines wondering just exactly how they would harm anything. Do they move? she questioned herself, turning her gaze back to the Basin before her. Realizing while she questioned herself, he questioned her. Taking a moment to remember his words she quickly spat with kindness (although communication was still difficult with her, she was getting the hang of it) "I would be more than happy to warm the chill that tingles my bones." Was this chill from the cold or was it from the presence and company of a stallion? She had yet to communicate so dearly with another of her kind but especially not with a male. Malificent is not exactly uncomfortable with the situation but there is something there that seems to be driving her legs and back to walk with a sway that is so elegant even herself could not understand what was happening. "Would you mind explaining to me about those machines? You say they shall not harm anyone that is not a threat," she turns her face to look at his "so they move?" speaking with interest and foolishness.

Perhaps she was asking to much personal things now, getting too deep into the Basin's herd things so she gently turned her face again to the lake they seemed to be heading for "By no means do you have to answer me, that may have been too personal of a question as I do not live here." her face seemed to sink, unsure of how she looked in his eyes now. This communication stuff was far too difficult for her. Far, far, far too difficult to understand what to say and what to do. Her eyes seemed to gather a glint of frustration if you should know the ques of such a feeling.

This curious mare seemed still startled and more at ease. Golden hark flicked back and forth with thought. Though he no longer thought this mare to be of evil intentions, it was clear she was not completely settled here. The gold most certainly could see why she would not settle here permanently. Still a pleasant walk would do no harm, she certainly was more pleasant than the black spotted fawn who had at last calmed to a walk. Poor Haldir’s weariness was beginning to sneak back up on his small frame, but it certainly could not keep away his bouncy smile. Besides the gold quite enjoyed the hot springs himself. Especially on a chilly spring morning such as this. Could the fawn make it? To the gold it seemed doubtful, but it also seemed he was determined not to let such a reality show. Puffing out his little chest and keeping up his smile the fawn kept trudging through the snow.

A few moments of silence pass before the mare speaks up. Her words are jumpy and uneven. The gold, with a warm smile does look to her as they walk, listening with interest. His suspicions were aroused once more at why she desired to know this. It draws him to look back at the two tall standing guards. One was not even completed yet, but they did make a menacing figure. Quickly the mare adds her pardon, and the gold looks back to her. Her face sinks in slightly. If she was here for just a visit it would suspicious of him to answer in the negative, but if she was not it would be a threat to let her know more than she should. Still, for all the world to know that the Basin had metal horses who could kick ass, well, that wasn’t such a bad reputation. The gold did not know though if the mad man’s creations actually worked though. He had never seen them called into battle. “Yes, they can move, but it is best not to give them reason too.” Earth eyes linger on her for a moment, with its gold flecks cold as steel, but the warm smile returns and his attention moves to what is before him.

The small fawn is there first. A dirt path leads down a small hill to the hot springs, hidden in full extent by the steam they create. A stream runs down from the mountains on the other side and here pools into several ponds separated by small dirt paths. Each pool then drains to a spring continuing on down to the lake. The gold turns to the grey mare with that ever present smile. “After you Mal.” The black spotted babe was amazed at the sight before him and had gone on ahead of the pair to sniff about the waters, and walk about their perimeters. For his small frame though the warm steam, which wrapped around him like a coat was utterly sensational. Never having gotten into water the strange pools, though curious looked to take too much energy to explore, so he laid down next to one of the pools. Weariness finally settling over him as he lays his body down to rest in the wonderful sensation of warmth. It seemed to almost beg him to sleep, but he was not about to take his eyes off the new mare and of course the gold. The gold waits for the mare to enter the pools first, to enjoy the peace and relaxation, and to take her mind off leaving. “What else can I tell you of our home?” Home was an over statement, if not an outright lie, but the special situations call for special efforts of sentiment. Besides the gold wanted to know just exactly was important to this mare. If it was more defense secrets they certainly would be a problem.

Answering her question he seemed to settle his eyes upon her for just a moment before returning his gaze to what was lying before them. Malificent could feel his eyes upon her but after feeling so ignorant and unsure about questioning him, she didn't look to him nor notice the smile that fell upon his lips afterwards. Trudging on she watched as the fawn became the first to the lakes side. Carefully examining the path she would take to reach the waters edge. 'After you Mal.', moving carefully she chose a smaller pond instead of making her way to the lake. Slowly submerging her hooves (working her way to covering her mid section) and walking carefully through the waters. Oh they were so warm. The chill that ached her bones simply washed away, being replaced with that of a soothing sensation. It was almost as if the waters washed away all of that that she worried about. Her muscles uncoiled, her high arched neck lowered, and her tail hung as if there was no life in her at all. Truly she was soaking it all in.

Malificent took her gaze to the stallion and then gently moved her sight to that of the fawn. Noting just how tired he looked but how hard he tried. It was beautiful. Wonderful just to see how much and how hard something that loves you will try to forever please you. Never leaving your side. Dark charcoal grey eyes were quickly fixed upon the golden steeds again 'What else can I tell you of our home?'. She pondered for a moment, before remembering his words about this mirror that had no reflection. First of all, Malificent had no clue what a mirror is, but since he had explained it had no reflection... she tied a mirror with that of the likes of water. Water always had reflections. "Perhaps you could explain to me what a mirror is and why yours here bears that of no reflection?" she dips her muzzle to the water gently, twitching her muzzle slightly as if she was playing with the water. Ears twitched forward, raising her nose from the water just enough to speak once more "As I have yet to venture across a mirror, so I do not know what you mean by this when you speak of one.".

The steam surrounds them as the grey moves into a pool. The golden watches as she wades in and does follow with her for a ways, stopping when he comes to his knees. Though he enjoyed the mare’s company, he also did not want to make her more uneasy than she was. An afternoon swim was wonderful, but an afternoon of awkward was less than pleasurable. Still as the warmth trickled through the blood of his body and steam curled about his coat the gold could feel his own body relaxing and letting go. His mind was ever sharp, noting how the girl’s sight seemed to linger on Haldir who still laid their fighting sleep. The black spotted fawn wagged his tail at catching the pretty lady’s eye. How he loved to see her smile. Oh but with the warmth caressing his coat and his small frame worn from the day he could not be blamed for closing his eyes. They flashed open again, but shut back just as quickly, and his small head fell between his knees. The golden can only sneer at the weakness of the fawn for a moment before the moving of water calls him back to the task in front of him.

The mare apparently did have a question, but curiously it was one of mere intellect and not defense or politics, so the golden’s suspicions are silenced all the more. His calm gaze looking with patience and a growing dullness at the grey. A lovely walk it had been, and the warm pools were always nice, but having been no threat, nor no interest at all, this meeting was quickly becoming more of a chore. Still the gold smiles and answers with a voice as soothing as the steam about them. “It is a most curious object.” He had only seen the object once, on his first trip around this place. It was usually guarded by the strangest creature of their herd, so he kept away from it. Besides, its secrets seemed not to open up to him, and he had not patience for such things. “A mirror acts as stone, but should reflect like water. However, our mirror does not reflect our image to us, but possible does to he who keeps up well.” The Time God. But the golden was never religious very much, again, he had no need for such suspicions. Besides his mind aligned more with she who guards the night, not her brother.

Shaking his twin horns the golden moves the conversation along by looking about them. He sighs long and deep before returning his gaze to she who wades in the water. “If you have no further questions feel free to be on your journey. Night comes early here in the north.” The golden smiles as warm as the water about her and adds, “Though I shall miss your company, and do hope you return soon.” It was a lie, but a rather smooth one. It fit with the day it seemed he was having.
