Dancing over the short grass and dodging the trees the rose grey mare had a smirk plastered lazily over her dainty muzzle. She swayed easily around the trees her curvy body sawing this way and that. She hummed softly to herself enjoying the soft patter as water fell slowly from the heavens. The antlered girl did not mind the rain, as it sprinkled through the canopy. The water was the God's gift to the Earth, which meant it was a gift to her. She side stepped jovially her chiming laughter ringing out. This new place was drawing her forth, pulling her wonder's heart begging to be graced with her love of land. White eyes sparkled mischievously as she swayed and skipped enjoying the sound of the Earth.

After a while the mare stopped by a stream enjoying the sounds of the forest. It was crazy that some people might find this forest scary, but she adored it. It smelled wonderful. Rain, animals, tress, and grass. It was simply amazing, one of the best places she had stumbled across in all her travels. Breathing deeply the collared mare smiled white eyes flickering closed as she absorbed her surroundings. The blue feathers swayed with her head as she moved to the song within her head. Swaying soundlessly she allowed her body to drift right then left crossing her legs back and forth. Sighing happily the girl opened her eyes once more gazing around the peaceful forest. What other wonders did this strange land hold in store for her?

Sometimes a walk during the day was all she needed to settle down. Even though she loved the Falls, it was nice to just take a step away and enjoy what nature had to offer. The Threshold provided that and much more. The melody of nature swelled and faded like undulating waves. The birds twittered their own operatic song, and all was perfect. Many different types of fauna flitted about. There were many squirrels and birds, with the occasional sprinkling of a deer or chipmunk.

Speaking of nature, Elsa spotted a mare not far off. She looked to be decorated in odd things. A mishmash of feathers and beads adorned her body, as well as horns that closely resembled the ones of the bucks that meandered about in the Threshold. Letting out a soft call, Elsa approached. Thank goodness she had settled near a brook, because Elsa was a lot more parched than she had thought. She oft forgot it was summer, and how she needed to, you know, drink every once in a while.

Dipping her head, she took a quick drink, relishing the feeling of the cold water on her throat. Sighing, and settling comfortably across the brook from the antlered girl, she spoke. "Like it here?" Elsa queried, a small friendly smile upon her face. Tiva did not smell of the Basin, which already led Elsa to feel more comfortable around her. Everyone was innocent until proven guilty. Plus, by the looks of it, Elsa would peg her for a pacifist rather than a rogue serial killer. It would probably prove one day to be a fatal assumption, but Elsa was rather "chilled" out. Nothing could really get her goat at this moment, unless it tried really, really hard to piss her off.

Tallsun found the little princeling well, limbs growing lankier, height gradually reaching towards the heavens, mane growing in every direction, leonine tail whipping through the undergrowth. On summer’s vestiges he rose and fell, tossing back his cranium and cascading through warm rivulets and ghostly exploits, scavenging for buried treasure and investigating ancient crimes. When his boldness increased, so did his wandering, and he bid into the darkened woods of the Threshold again, venturing down into the murky diatribes and the heathen declarations, coasting amidst damnation and innocence. He’d enjoyed his last encounters there, meeting with the General and Grim, imploring the latter to come into his home, to make the ice a part of him, to make the mountains shake under his dominion, to make the walls a permanent residence and the glaciers an amiable companion. Erebos did not go any easier than he had previously, ducking beneath wide eaves and heavy boughs, rummaging and prowling along the moss and groves, laughing as he coasted over a mere puddle or a stately brook, following scents until they were broken and lost, following the wind until it crashed into branches and leaves. Unsatisfied by the mysteries, by the enigmas, he hastened toward one more avenue, a glistening barb of infidel prowess and silly, juvenile adventures, rippling into the locked confines as a tiny pickpocket or miniature soldier, gallivanting headlong across two unfamiliar smells wafting and waning, giving chase while they stood resolute. His ebullience rolled and careened, he practically bounced into their section and sanction, rewarding his stalwart movements and motions with a welcoming, playful bow towards each lady, a hearty, triumphant bellow. “Hello!” His predator eyes, foolish and mischievous, seemingly filled to the brim with impish designs, granted quick, studious examinations to the two with feminine wiles: the first, an interesting concoction of hues and colors he imagined upon a bird, blending into her surroundings with sienna sonnets and darker tassels – but her antlers were even more impressive, and he stared at their profound mass with great intrigue (the widened gaze, the slight, dropped jaw), before twisting over to the other lady. And she had wings! Ah, those glorious feathers, all ivory and sparkling and luminescent (and the dreams of flying died inside him again, because he’d never trade his sword for their paltry plumes, but he’d admire them from afar). Suddenly aware he’d made no introductions, and his mother would admonish him for such a rude undertaking, he posed gallantly, straightened and puffed out his chest, proud and eager, ardent and knightly. To each, he chiseled queries and notions, dubbings and phrases. “I’m Erebos, from the Basin! Who are you?”

It didn't take long for Mother Earth send forth another phenomenon. Spinning gracefully sending braids, beads, and feathers twirling around her; the filly smiled warmly. Tiva had come across several different species during her travels, including winged equines so this did not pretty mare did not surprise her. Sweet musical vocals called back, nickering warmly. There was no need to fear this white and blue mare, like she cared anyway. Tinkling laughter bubbled up dancing away while the mare scurried towards her, to pause suck greedily at the creek. White orbs sparkled before stepping forward to drink a few swallows herself. The water was delicately cool; soothing. Rose grey ears flicked back and forth listening for others or anything nasty these woods might hold.

Water dripped from velvety lips as her dainty antlered head lifted to look at the mare again. The snowy looking lady's voice was mildly inquisitive. Sweet soprano lyrics swirled their way out, "I do. It's exquisite here. What is this new land called?" She smiled warmly and hocked a rear hoof. Sharp ears pricked catching the sound of yet another approaching. A mere moment passed before a male's voice sounded out a greeting. 'How original.' She snickered playfully as alabaster eyes turned to take in his ebony pelt. He was clearly younger than herself, and there for the mare before her. Soft kissers turned up in a crooked smirk as she took in his awed gaze. 'If all males here are like this, I'll surely like it here.'

He was clearly handsome, and would be even more so, when he finally grew into himself. Swishing long flaxen and black tresses the girl smiled devastatingly upon him. White found blue for a moment before slowly, teasingly, appraising him. Oh how fun it was to be a pretty girl. One of her favorite things was to make men squirm under her languid looks. His deepening voice drew eyes back to his handsome horned head before she spoke carefully to both of them, "I am Tiva. I come from a land far away." Respectfully the young lady dipped her head first to the winged mare then towards Erebos gracing them both with another charming smile. "Can you please," sugary sweetness dripped off of the last word, "tell me of this stunning land?"

A content smile settled upon her face as the mare answered affirmatively. At least her small talk assumptions proved to be true. There is nothing more awkward than wandering about asking people questions they don't wish to answer. Another approached then, a young colt who smelled distinctly of the Basin. Elsa tilted her head but listened in respectful silence as he talked. Erebos, and... yep, from the Basin. He was bright and cheery, a welcome change to those she had met before from that place. It was a lot easier to be civil when those she was "up against" didn't have a horrible first impression.

Finally, the new antlered mare introduced herself. Tiva, what a unique name. Mare's in general seemed to carry softer names, but not with harsh beginning letters. There was rarely a T or V in the beginning of names. It was a nice respite from the usual fru-fru names. However, it was time to get back to business. Talking about Helovia was her job when walking through here, so she was bound by her duty to respond. "You're in Helovia." She started with a shrug, looking to the colt to see if he had any other introductions to ad before she got started on her little spiel. That was when she realized, she was the only one who remained unnamed. "Oh! And I should probably mention my name is Elsa, of the Hidden Falls." She beamed a comforting smile, before elaborating a little more. "Helovia is a land of magic and mystery, in general terms. It's divided up into four main herd lands, two of which we've already mentioned." She paused to motion towards Erebos. "The God's that reside over these lands do a fantastic job of keeping it this beautiful all across the land." Twisting, she motioned in all directions, emphasizing her point. "I'm also here to extend you an invitation to the Hidden Falls if you are looking for permanent residence here in Helovia. It's as beautiful as this, and more!" A sheepish smile replaced the otherwise calm and civil demeanor. Stepping back, Elsa opened the floor to Erebos then should he have more to offer.

The world continued on in idle, pleasant chatter, and he attempted to reign his focus and attention upon the ongoing chivalry and affability, tipping his head towards each voice, listening intently, and only occasionally staring off into the shadows; where the great, rippling mysteries seemed truly bound. Names were given, curiosities extinguished towards those factions, and information stored away for another day – because the icy Pegasus, Elsa, was from the Hidden Falls, and he’d never been there before (even though Adelric had offered, but the spotted lad lived in his terrain now, so the invitation was probably rescinded). A naughty endeavor flickered through his mind, an impish decree of perhaps following Elsa after they had all parted and roamed off to their designated origins, for how covert, secretive, and furtive were these Falls? Nonetheless, he made none of these thoughts apparent along his features, still as dapper, still as intriguing, ruthless eyes narrowed in speculation and delight. Elsa had given forth an array of details and particulars, leaving the colt with pieces of his harem, or to fill in with other ruminations. Erebos continued with the pleasantries, there was no reason not to, both seemed polite (the newcomer smiled a lot; he wondered briefly if all the sugary exploits were real or just dipped and refined in honey for the moment) – extending his blackguard munitions back into the fray. “Nice to meet you, Tiva!” There, an acceptable crescendo and diction; his mother would be proud. His devilish grin elongated, jovial, exuberant, fostered and furnished with undulating, coiled energy. “Sometimes the Gods give you magic, or even companions!” Though he had yet to receive any, he’d certainly been witness to Adelric’s divine bestowals and gifts. Maybe one day he’d be able to proclaim and grasp his own. His heart restored, searing off into other branches and segues, curling along more gallant entreaties, because he’d been permitted to share the embodiment of his home, and pride singed and scorched upon every word. “I’d like to invite you to the Aurora Basin! Its surrounded by mountains and valleys – and even has caverns, hot springs, and a lake that never freezes!”

The girl relaxes lowering her antlered head giggling softly as jay feathers brushes over soft hide. Solid alabaster orbs slowly move over the older lady searching curiously for trinkets she might hold. It was odd not to see her decked out with shinny things, feathers, or shells. Everyone in her home herd had held such items, decorating themselves boldly. They wore things that interested them; it made it easy to find mates or friends. It wasn't like it really mattered, she did not see herself settling down.. Maybe she would just play around. She giggled lightly at her own naughty thoughts. Pulling her attention back to the snowy white mare she smiled softly at her. It was nice being around this mare. She was quiet and that was always a bonus when she was trying to be on her best behavior.

He seemed to be to young, or immature at least, to take to her sensual advances. She pouted for only a moment before the white mare spoke again. Pretty muzzle tilted curiously as information spilled into her eager brain. Helovia, Elsa, Hidden Falls, four herds, and most interestingly; Gods. Ears pricked up at that. Antlered dome nodded appreciatively glancing around at the pretty scenery. Yes she was defiantly right on that one. White eyes watched Elsa curiously as she offered herself a home. There would have to be something pretty great to make her give up her nomad lifestyle. Choosing to wait until Erebos had a chance to add on, before inquiring about the Gods.

She flashed him a brilliant smile as he spoke of magic and companions; she had no idea what those were. The he offered her a home as well. Tiva wasn't really one to feel pressured, but even with their kind offers and demeanor; she felt very trapped. She squirmed and allowed a few moments of silence while she collected her thoughts. Soft voice stroked the air, "I have a few questions first before I accept, if that's ok?" She smiled softly at both of them before continuing, "First of all what are companions? Also I would like to know about the Gods, just what the rule over, and their lands." Ears pricked again as her long black and white tail swished thoughtfully.

The colt was boisterous, yet polite in his speech. It was what she had expected it to be, child-like and full of awe. A small, pleasant smile settled over her face. He may be a colt, but he was growing. If he was the future of the Falls, then maybe, just maybe, she could convince herself to give them one more try. Glancing down at the colt she waited till he finished speaking, before her attention was diverted back to Tiva.

The antlered mare had her own set of questions, and two that Elsa could easily answer. The first, of course, could even been shown. A devious smile crept its way up her face as she suddenly turned around. "Edgar!" She called, the voice echoing dully through the trees. He was no doubt lingering out here somewhere. Even when he was out doing his own things, he stayed close enough to be at her very "beak" and call, as he put it. The white bird sprung suddenly from a nearby tree, diving down to perch upon Elsa's head. A smug look of satisfaction emanated from him as he knew that being called meant that he was about to be the center of attention. Turning back around, Elsa flicked her head upwards to indicate that he was in fact a companion. "Companions are animals that we are able to bond with. Edgar here is one, and they are eggs usually put into our care when their mother cannot protect them enough. It's kind of like raising a child." That could be confined now, in fact, she couldn't decide what was easier raising, children or birds? "Anyways, when they are born, hatched more like it, they are "bonded" to you in the very sense. They are attached to your thoughts and feelings, as you are attached to theirs." Elsa shrugged and Edgar puffed up his feathers up to prove a point. They were both very proud at the current moment. Not to mention, the talk was a welcome deviation from the normal hum-drum.

However, there was more to tell. This time, it was a question easily answered by herself and the boy Erebos. Elsa knew the Earth one the best, obviously, so she would start and leave the Spark to Erebos. Elsa knew little to nothing of that one. "Their are four Gods, as I stated before. They are of Earth, Sun, Moon and Spark. Each watching over a specific herd land. For example, the Falls patron God is the God of Earth. I believe the Throat has the Sun, since they are a desert. Then that leaves most likely the Moon for the World's Edge, and Spark for the Basin?" Her voice hitched a little at the end as she looked to the child for confirmation. Elsa had limited knowledge on the other Gods, so it was at least good to see if he was thinking along the same route as she was. "The Earth God though, I can tell you the most about. He's a large God, and is true to his namesakes. He controls the elements of water and earth. He protects the Hidden Falls, which is a lush landscape nestled in the hilly region to the North. Of course, what's the land without water? Thus, there are many waterfalls that roar around the land." Phew, that was the long spiel she usually had to get through. Elsa had to admit though that it was much shorter than what she normally spewed out. It sounded much more eloquent too, maybe she was actually learning a thing or two by wandering out in the wilderness.

Questions were an expectation of the Threshold, or any empire really (for he always had at least one or two running around his cranium at given moments), so he tilted his head a fraction, eager to see and hear Tiva had enjoyed his assertions into the conversation, that she’d been intrigued and curious about the world before them. Before he had an opportunity to gloss over the subjects, Elsa managed on her own, and perhaps it was rightly so, she had far more experience than he. The winged mare called for another deep in the heart of the wood, and he watched in keen admiration, for the prince would not pout in front of others, as a beautiful, enchanting, alluring, and no doubt powerful, ivory bird flew along the branches, before perching on the femme’s cranium. The lad gave the smallest of sighs, gazing fondly at the aspects of a companion, recalling Adelric’s Tobias and its first wobbling steps, their wonderful bond, their token, unattainable nuances, and while he picked and carved and sculpted his way through marble monoliths and all-consuming turkeys, the lad had received naught for his efforts. Maybe, eventually, he’d be able to have one of his very own, and he nearly asked the Falls member how she’d acquired it (through task? Through strength? Through magic and enchantments and prowess?), but instead, he lowered his eyes and riveted them onto some roots, some trees, some bark fallen upon the wild grass. Determination steeled within him moments thereafter, and certainly not avaricious plumes, childish greed, or wanton petulance grinding in fractious, ferocious rasps, skewing his smile back into its impish qualities, struggling to add to the potent speech and demonstration, nearly unworthy of the attempt. “Sometimes you can find your own in tasks. I haven’t yet, but my friend has!” He’d certainly tried.

But then the conversation leaned towards the Gods, which he’d been witness to, though never chosen (a similar pattern; a child ensconced in the background, dreaming until they were firmly crushed). He’d been enamored and riveted, fascinated and beguiled, by their potency, by their dominance, by their supremacy; but as the diatribe turned, for Elsa speculated on all of the Gods and their abilities, Erebos realized he’d only seen two of them: the great god of the Sun and fire, blistering, scorching fire, and the mysterious Moon Goddess, quiet and menacing, twisted and malevolent. Though he’d never met the Basin’s patron, elemental deity, he knew of him, and the beast was bound to be just as pernicious as his brethren. “Our God of Spark also controls time!” What had his mother said? What had Zikar-Sin ever taught them? There had to be more things…how would the God yearn to be described and cultivated by his people? “He’s very powerful. He makes sure time flows as it should. And he can shock people with lightning!” Of course, what was intriguing and interesting to a colt could differ from what others perceived, but his loud, boisterous vocals hopefully got his notions across.

[Woohoo 100th post!]
