The light is beautiful and warm. Through the sheet of ice you can see that something is lingering deep down below. Its shape is ambiguous, for it has been obscured by the many layers of ice between it and you, but still. You know it's there. In one of the many glaciers on the coastline this strange artifact is hidden. The entire chunk of ice seems to be tainted with a warm golden light, emanating from deep within the center.

If you look close enough, you'll see that the orb is slowly sliding downwards. The temperature is so hot, that it is slowly melting the ice. There is about 30ft between the orb and where the ice meets the freezing waters below. If the orb reaches the frothy waters below, it will surely be lost forever: these waters are far too cold to swim in.

This is a light/fire magic drop! You have 72 hours to respond to this post. Posts may be no longer than 600 words and must include a summary of actions taken. Please also include your wishlist and the magic you seek in your first post.

The magic is trapped inside of an iceberg, but it is slowly melting its way down to the ocean! If it reaches the ocean the magic will be lost! You must try to get it out!

"No," he whispers softly, breath steaming into the air—something that ceases as he moves closer to the golden, warm glow. It breathed against him in gentle waves, touching, caressing, so tender in the warmth reminding him of Kahlua's rock. It had become a prized possession kept safe in the clutches of Diego, to the comical point of Irma having to hunt for both owls because he refused to leave it, and wasn't very apt at catching things one-footed.

Slowly he came up against the glacier, touched his dark nose to its slowly warming wall. Something whispered in there, something that was the source of that golden, nice light. It thrummed through his veins, plucked at his mind, and beneath its song was something else—a vibration of urgency. It quickened his pulse, placed a sense of pressure behind his eyes. It was.. moving.

And somehow he just knew that if he let it go too far, it would be lost.

Gritting his teeth he summoned his own magic, fervently placing thick ice beneath it in the glacier's cramped spaces, an effort to halt its sliding motion, but he couldn't see from here, couldn't tell if it was enough.. if it was cold enough.. he couldn't feel it either but he knew that if it wasn't—or if it was just enough—he would bleed his own energy dry before he could get it up. Frowning, he did what he could, piled ice beneath it, hoping to raise it up to where he stood because something in him craved that sunlight..

He was always attracted to fire.

Maybe because it blazed within him, potent and enduring, coaxed constantly from a state of confusion or rage. Maybe because it bled through his lineage, crossed from wires and lines of Ignatius the Firesword, and his glorious infernos. Maybe because he contained its magic, its magnificence, within his own frame, and now that he’d managed to conjure it, to hold it close, to touch and incinerate, he merely wanted to do it all the more. Like a craving, like an addiction, spreading the embers and coals wherever he went, spoiling, avaricious and toiling:

There, amidst the frozen arch’s coast, was a spark, was a promise, was a whisper, triumphant and beholden, of fire. What if he was to get more? What if he could ignite further acrimony? Further potency? Further prowess? How powerful could he become, in this gateway of immorality, of repose, of transgressions and mixed contortions, distortions?

The princeling made his way down towards the rocky, chilling shoal, gaze fixated on the glowing orb within the iceberg, how to reach it, how to ensnare it, how to make it his. There was another on the outcrops and embankment, a spotted stallion, and his scrutiny darted for one moment from the beautiful, breathtaking light, to the other’s powers, entangling further into the ice; eyes widening, entranced by the vision.

Then, he realized, he could summon his own magic, couldn’t he? Wouldn’t he be able to do something? He held enchantments, invocations, rituals and rites, had practiced and honed them in the dead of night or the crisp, holy barbs of day…

Erebos’ narrowed gaze lingered upon the water. He could roam towards the massive shell…and then what? Would someone else have an idea? Could he use his fire to melt it quicker (and what thereafter, be the reason for everyone’s failures?)? His brow furrowed, deep and brooding, before exploding in a series of quick, rapid motions, sliding across the water’s edge, away from the chain of ice, calling out to others beginning to gather around the threshold, likely just as beguiled, just as allured, as he, inclined towards the mysterious siren song.

“I can walk on water!” He tapped on the waves with one hoof, confirming his dominance over Poseidon and Neptune’s reign, sovereignty, and kingdom, an emir of the shore and ocean, then shouted into the crowd, hoping his actions were wise, uplifting. “If anyone has any tool to use, I can bring it there!”

OOC;; Summary: Erebos uss his ability to walk on water to get closer access to the orb in case it falls. He also asks if anyone has any tools he can use to dig through the ice.

The north land was cold, icy, and white. Even as she spent a night here and watched the northern lights dance their mystical waltz across the starry sky, she saw the lands illuminated under different lights, she saw the lands seem to mute the colours, to desaturate the world. Even her own scales, at night, resembled less of the Sun's radiant glow and more of the Moon's silvery sheen. When she happened upon her reflection in the glassy surface of a glacier, she almost mistook herself for her sister. A pang of want ran through her, vicious and biting with its passion. She missed her sister.

The sun rose, and with it, so too did the creatures that lived on these lands. Amaris watched as they all wandered, seemingly aimless - until they weren't aimless any more, but wandering with a purpose, a direction. Interest piqued, and the girl took to wing to see things from a new perspective. The orb, not that of a companion's life-force, but of a magical one; it's kind could not be denied. Amaris was almost certain that the magic of the Sun God whose home she resided in was within its spherical form.

She watches a pale, speckled steed (whom she had seen before, in the presence of the Sun God himself), near the orb, and while she cannot see what it is he is doing exactly, she feels the magic in the air, the icy forces at work within the glacier. Another colt announces his ability to tread upon water, and she nods her golden crown, before voicing a response to him in her own deep, honeyed tones; "Go, stand beneath its path, catch it if it falls through. Don't fall into the water!"

The girl prayed to the Lord of Light and Fire that she wasn't sending the colt to his death.

It was easy to summon her friends now, a mere flicker of a thought, and as soon as the two green souls blinked into existence, she set them a task, burn the ice, burrow a hole down to the light, help the unicorn's magic raise it up to the surface again.

She had followed Mauja for some reason, having become rather fascinated with him. He was different, and she couldn't help but be drawn to it. She had kept a distance for the most part, or taken into the skies to keep out of his sight, not entirely sure if she had succeeded or not. Before she knew it they had reached the colder parts of Helovia, the air mild in the harsh rays of Tallsun. The only place that seemed to escape the unbearable heat. Coming down to land, she managed to glide onto all four hooves, a small smile escaping her features as she did so. When she finally saw what Mauja was looking at she blinked, trotting to his side and watching as suddenly his magic was attempting to pull the iceberg up.

Gasping, she looked to him in surprise, before hearing a voice down further. Turning her spotted crown she blinked, the colt claiming he could walk on water and asking for something to bring the iceberg forward. She had to help, she couldn't just stand and watch! Whatever was inside the glacier, emitting that soft golden light that soothed her, it must have been important! If Mauja wanted it, then she would help him; he was her friend after all. Maybe he'd share it if she did too! Looking around spastically she searched for something to grab, but there was nothing. Soon another mare approached, explaining how she could help, before two dragons appeared out of nowhere and towards the glacier. She blinked, before an idea clicked into her mind.

"Good idea! I will fly to the top and catch it should it fall!" she piped up, before spreading her wings and making her way to the top of the glacier. She looked at the dragons in fascination, smiling brightly as her butterfly wings glimmered in the sun, before she began to circle the mass patiently, waiting for the right moment to swoop in should she be needed. She wanted to help them, especially Mauja. She would do anything to make him happy, because he was her friend, and she felt that he needed it in his life. Everyone needed something to be happy about. If this would make him happy, then Myrrine would make sure he got it. She didn't know how the others felt about the situation, but that was her goal, and so she continued to circle the iceberg, waiting to see if the dragon's could melt the ice.

The warrior shivered. Her thin coat was not made for northern climate, though her own magical cloak of wind and weather helped keep her comfortable. The wind filled her wings, as it always had, warming her soul - but also making the hollow, vacant fissure more obvious. It consumed her, but she resisted its abysmal pull, trying to stay in the light.. It was difficult, but it was getting easier. Since she had returned to her birthland and embraced the rank she had wanted since watching her father teach and train other warriors as a child, she had felt closer to being whole.

She would never be complete, however. Only Sitka could have done that.

So why was she flying north? The girl couldn’t describe it, but it was akin to the pull she had felt when she had found Sitka's prison, all those years ago, within the darkest reaches of the Deep Forest. It called to her, summoning her presence, her magic, her attention. And she gave it all, willingly.

As her cerulean irises took in the scene, she breathed a shaky breath. "Be careful!" she shouted to the colt, who was surely in the most dangerous position of all - beneath a glacier?! - and the others, who all gathered. Had she time to reminisce, she would have recognised her home's Sleuth and the pale former King, Mauja amongst those present, but as it was, her attention was devoted to the orb that pulsed with a brilliant fiery life within the glacier.

Concern and worry for the colt's safety drove her following actions. She dipped her flight path to hover somewhat above him, high enough that her hooves and tail did not dangle low enough to knock against his horned crown, but low enough that she could knock him out of the way should the ice crumple before them and threaten to crush them. Encouraging her wind to fill her wings and make the hovering less taxing on her energy, she simply watched and waited, prepared to take action depending upon what unfolded next.

The queen went north to the cold- an escape from… everything. Kaj, her herd, responsibilities, her daughter, politics, Moon Goddesses, friends, cliffs, and nightmares. Everything, that is, except depression. It followed her like a cloud, seeping into her life, clouding her judgment, making her mellow and broken when she wanted to be… something else. She wanted to be herself- happy, light, effervescent, effusive… It wasn’t so easy to put back together all of her broken pieces.

At least the cold was a distraction- oh, and the Frostheart. For a moment, she was able to smile at seeing him, amazed that she should find him here in the wilderness. Hadn’t she imagined them running away together, living the outcast life, being daring and impulsive instead of stuck trying to fit a mold they couldn’t? Delighted, she danced towards him, until she saw what had gathered his attention. He and some others worked at… well… she wasn’t exactly sure. Doing something to a light that was in a glacier, slowly going downwards.

“Can I help?” she called out, trotting towards the ground, but already she was trying to figure out how she could assist. In a sudden wave of… almost brilliance, she had an idea. Whinnying to Khan, she sent the dragon flying towards the glacier, holding the glowing rock that she had kept for herself. Above the glacier, the feathered best hovered, trying to create illumination so that the rest could see better. She had no magic to make ice, no power to walk on water… She did have something else, though. Releasing her rank magic, the queen tried to calm everyone in the area. She had often found that calmer minds made better decisions.

The half-child follows his friend on another adventure, and the young surgeon is not disappointed by what they find. Curious, he thinks to his cervid as they come upon the glacier with the glowing inside. The half-child, of course, grows nervous with so many around. He defaults to his preferred state of being- a submissive that defers to his leader. Erebos has no qualms about taking control, and for that the half-child is eternally grateful. Without question, the black prince steps onto the water. Adelric smiles, watching the way that his friend strides so confidently. As for himself, he stays back. Without magic to walk upon the tides, he will surely freeze in their icy clutches.

But, then… what to do? So many have ideas- somebody releasing fire, somebody releasing ice. A dragon floats with a light, a pegasus hovers above the water. But the surgeon and his cerndyr? They have a needle to drive through flesh- it cannot help penetrate the ice. They have trinkets- amulets, a leather bag, hair, a hor- The half child’s thoughts stop suddenly as Tobias says a single world. ‘Horn.’ The half-child smirks and nods his head. Yes, the cervid is correct. “Erebos, use this,” he calls, but not too loud. He doesn’t want to draw attention to himself.

Grabbing the horn from where it lays across Tobias’ antlers, he reaches out across the water to hand it to his friend. Once it is taken, if it is, he adds, “Use the sharp end to cut through the ice.” He supposes Erebos could use his own horn, but then… what if it breaks? Better to use the remnant of his father. It’s worthless anyways.

It was a fine day to head out of this dreary place. No one in the Basin seemed to notice that is was summer, glorious warm summer. Trotting through the Arch voices begin to rise up and the golden comes upon a most curious scene. A whole gaggle of a crew were scrambling at a glowing ice wall. Haldir, who had been trotting very quietly by the gold stops, and as usual when coming on such a scene, his little tail begins to wag with excitement. The golden however can only roll his eyes as he watches tasks be assigned out. He knows several here, and a few he wouldn’t want to get too close to, but the question remained. What were they trying to get at?

Coming through the chaos the gold steps to the ice wall and sees glowing orb below. It shines in his eyes and burns in his mind. He wants that. Oh, he wants that a lot. Looking to those working above and below the gold thinks. There was not much place left to grab the thing. Not to mention everyone around here was using ‘teamwork’. God he hated that. Snorting the gold comes to the ice wall. Earth eyes measure out its thickness in his mind. It was unlikely he could get through. But what other way could he help, even if he wanted to. Cloven hooves were first, lifting high they begin chipping away at the ice wall. Once the surface was broken the gold lowers those twin horns and rams them like ice picks. After a moment he calls for his fawn and the babe gingerly steps into the smallest opening. Perfect size. Coming out again the gold continues to work. If the orb goes up for their magic and if he could finish it might just be his.

I don't understand what I see when I see it, sometimes. And that annoys the you-know-what out of me. My Mother had said that the truth in finding things out, is to do it yourself.

Sometimes, I didn't want to believe her. This time though, I didn't have to. I watch from the skies a mix of many races in which they are attempting to get a glowing thing from the ice. Must seem that a lot of them want it, so many are gathered here. She recognizes few, and seeing the snowy white-and black man again sent a shiver down her spine. Or maybe, it was just the cool air surrounding the area.

For a Tallsun day, it was a bit lighter on them all, which seemed like a blessing from the gods and whatnot, but really, it just felt nicer. A little sound from the bird on my head. A little chirp. Tweet. Something. I smile bright, it was one of her only sounds that she could make, but it was beautiful, drawn out in some sort of way that made it fantastically cute. I knew from the movement atop my forelock, she was going to do something...something grand. I smile bright as she shifts a little more, and then doesn't move for a few seconds, and I wonder if she was only settling down once again. No.

She pushed off with all her might, taking flight carefully, cautiously like me when I had first tried it out. Catching hold of the slight breeze, my little finch flitted towards the glacier, closer and closer to the light. "Don't get hurt!" I called to my little gal Wayne. But she was too smart for my warning, staying in one spot, though it seemed like it was a trouble, she started to peck, though before I knew it she was back on my forelock, breathing in...out...in...out. It must've felt good for her to get moving after the few days that had passed with none of it. Just sitting in my forelock.

I smile and say a few words of congratulations to her new flying ability, an assured and thankful grin upon her brow. I stand there now, examining the area one last time before taking a small risk. A mare on a floating rock, which I presume is magic's doing. A very beautiful fae-like thing. Though...she looked like a horse...beautiful butterfly's wings on her back. And I silently wonder if she has stolen them. But what I expect to get in return is: "she was born with them." Like I always have with questions like those, and I have taught myself to not wonder about their looks, but their personality. How they react to things and how they see things. It's all in the matter of that, and sometimes it's worth it not to see it from your own perspective. Scanning a little more, I see the boy from the cold, who claimed he was Neptune. He was being handed a horn by another. Cirrus flew above them, at the ready, and then, there was the lone man sticking his horns into the thing.

I take off, up to the top of the glacier, hoping I don't attract too much attention, I jump once, hoping to make a hole, twice, because this stuff is hard. I continue, though I don't know what I shall find. If death, wings will guide me into the sky and away like a breeze.

I walked up to those gathered without saying a word. I have no idea what the ord is, but I do know that if it were to slip away any answers that could be gained with it would sink away into the water's frigid depths. Frowning deeply I gaze into the gaping mouth that threatens to swallow the orb. Only snippets of what is said around me actually makes sense. Unable to communicate with any around me I begin to put together a plan of my own.

"If holes made," I am cool towards the struggle that will come with forming words and getting those around me to understand. I have a task before me and I simply do not have the time to fret about anything so frivolous as being self-conscious. In order to return to Elivian I must learn all that I can of this realm and how it works. "Maybe dragon crawl in and grab?" I speak to no one in particular, and I do not know if any one will answer, so I move forward on my idea. I kneel and line my horn up where the orb will make its way to within a handful of moments. Twisting my head from side to side I work on making a small hole into a tiny tunnel. Whatever this orb brings about had better be worth the effort. Whatever had given me a wild hair and venture out in the harsh daylight had better have been right about today being a special one.

Cool ice-chips break off giving way to my horn. Blissfully my eyelids flutter and close as the small pieces of fractured ice soothe my burning eye. For a moment I am still. My tired and stressed features soften and I probably look to be someone else entirely. All of my thoughts have been devoted to finding a way back to Talus and the others and it has led me to forget the one thing they had taught me to do; to enjoy the present.

Sighing I push what I had out of mind and I try to focus on what I have. On what is around me. Helovians that would otherwise not done so much as glanced at one another are knee deep in partnership and unite on common ground. My eyes lift high above to the companions that strive to be of help. I would be a stulte if I did not involve myself in the commradery. After all is that not what I am working so hard to return to?

My features manage to lift into a simple smile as I watch two colts work together. A spark of excitement even lights my eyes as I see the horn piece that they exchange. "Look what I made," I murmur to the pair and nod to my small tunnel, "what if we attach that horn to yours? Could tunnel deeper." Uncharacteristically I feel almost shy and shift around as I wait for them to reply.

It was difficult to always be alone, even when you were with several others. When you always felt like an outsider it was hard to not long for something more. Sighing heavily the girl trotted on; not sure where she was going. Mind drifted as she tried to envision what it was she was after in life. Did she really want to live in the Basin? Yes, yes that much was for sure. The Aura basin would always be her home. Did she want to live the life her father had, a killer, or would she take after her stupid mother? Snorting her laughter the yearling couldn't help but think how ridiculous that was. There was no way she could be as idotic as her small green eyed mother. Shaking her dual horned head the storm filly suddenly froze as the scents of many others wafted through the air.

Throwing strong young limbs into a gallop she made her way towards them. As she neared her bay spotted brother she looked at him curiously before turning to gaze that the brilliant ball of light. Different colored eyes could tell that the thing was sinking slowly shifting towards the dark water below. Moving slowly away from Adelric she reared and slammed down trying to shatter the ice below her. "Help me Adel if we can just break the ice Tobias should be able to reach down and get it." Slamming her sharp hooves down again she prayed her brother would help. In her own attempt to break the ice, she missed the horn Adelric tried to pass on to Erebos.

They were all idiots. All but two. She spotted Kahlua and a burning rage ignited in her system as her thoroughly insatiable inner demon clawed desperately for release from within. A smirk tugged her lips as she sauntered over to the increasingly growing huddle. She noticed Mauja next, and his presence tugged at something deep inside of her, cracking her shattered heart and soul further. Her smirk faded instantly, eyes glued of the Frostheart. She noticed the fire-obsessed foal next. Adelric, wasn't it? In all honestly, she remembered him vaguely. Still, he was one of the two she didn't consider a bumbling fool. Her gaze moved from him, onto the golden theif. He was the second she didn't consider blatantly stupid. In fact, he was quite smart, but this is the reason she hated him more. He had revealed my hidden weapon, my fire, to the one that challenged me. Clearly, I had no chance of winning that fight if my fire was a well-known thing. Thus, I surrendered myself, becoming a prisoner in the icy wasteland.

With fury in her DNA and fire in her blood, she toyed with the idea of melting the glacier with her fire magic and watch it sink quicker to the freezing oceans below. Then, she would watch the greedy mortals flail like children. However, she decided on something else. With a loud swoop, she had unfurled her wings. With two cantering strides and a beat of her wings, she was soaring. She dive-bombed the glacier as other jumped on it. She angles herself to hit the side of the glacier, hoping there will be some sort of crack or fault in that area that her hooves would hit, shattering open the icy rock.

Cirrus is disqualified! A glacier is a huge chunk of ice floating in the water - the description at the top specifically says that directly below is just freezing water. If Cirrus was beneath the glacier she would be frozen almost right away in the water!

Mauja and Amaris' tactics work well together. The orb's scalding path is slowed significantly as Mauja's magic begins to stifle it's momentum. Steam begins to fill the cavern that the orb has created, sending cracks spider-webbing out from where the sphere has halted. Slowly, oh so slowly the orb begins to rise. It is not high enough that Amaris' magic is having a huge impact, but nevertheless she has melted away some of the ice at the top. For those who are stomping and hitting various points of the glacier, it has little effect. However the steam created within is drawn to these paths of least resistance. Often when you strike the ice bursts of hot air shoot through before the ice melts back in on itself.

It seems like the Mauja/Amaris tactics are working the best. For those of you treating the iceberg as a percussion instrument, I'll let you know an interesting fact about water: sound travels a whole lot farther in water than it does on land.

In the water sharks begin to circle. This magical orb has been stuck in that glacier for so long that the creatures have learned that if they wait long enough, some greedy idiot will come by and try to get it out. Inevitably someone trips and falls into the water or some such.

Today they are in for a feast.

The sharks target Erebos first. They aren't much for the Jesus complex he's got going on, but they'll happily make him dinner just the same. Next, their jaws snap at those who have been striking the side of the glacier or are near it.

From the barren landscape comes a deafening roar. A creature - like some ape - giant hybrid covered in a massive white pelt ambles towards you. The thing uses its knuckles almost like paws as it lumbers forward in some weird three-beat gait. Roaring loudly it reveals a mouth of sharp teeth that you assume it doesn't use to eat salads with. In one of its massive hands is a club, which it is now swinging wildly around.

    Good luck.

Mauja and Amaris seem to be getting the orb out, only now there are sharks and a yeti-like creature to deal with!

Go away he wants to spit at them, it's mine, leave, go, GO! Black-rimmed ears laid slicked against a thick, white neck, pale eyes narrowed—it's mine, each breath a sharp hiss through clenched nostrils. He didn't know why—why he cared—just that he did. That he had been first, to see the glow, the beautiful light trapped, and to hear its humming song plucking at his soul.. and now every idiot and his mother was crowding in, until Mauja thought his skull would burst and he would actually ram a spike through someone in pure frustration (and greed).

    Until she came.

He almost forgot what he was doing.. almost let the magic slide out of his control.. stunned by her presence, by the rock-light tracing her outline with gold fingers and working its way like sun-flecks into her eyes.

And he forgot his anger—barely felt it ebb away, taking the awful, black greed with it too. Slowly, an almost shy smile curved his dark lips, before he let his gaze leave Kahlua. So maybe he wasn't angry anymore, but he didn't feel like prancing around like everbody's friend either. Grunting to himself he kept feeding the ice, silently admitting to himself that, yes, someone melting a path from the top-down would certainly make his task less draining, but it didn't mean that he had to like it.

That thing was still his, even if he didn't crave it as viciously as before.

    Then a roar startled him.

His head snapped up and around, while the owls circled and cried out—and it was like falling head over heels to the ground, a multitude of impressions, a chaotic jumble, and lancing through it was a sudden, gut-wrenching fear.

Triangular fins, crowding around the water-bound colt (too far, he's too far to reach), the giant.. thing (it reminded him of the Magnar, the foes of his childhood) that came lumbering, running, swinging a small tree around, and the only thing he can think is please, not her, not her, not her.

He breaks his mind in two.

One feeds the ice—he's done that for years, it's a familiar task.
One calls upon fire—and two swans of pure flame burst into life, sweeping on burning wings towards the land-bound monster.

"Fjandi," he spat, torn between his desire to see the orb raised and his need to stop that thing.

[ one of these moments when I just went "damn, really would've needed life-grip for Erebos now"... true story, I'm that priest that actually pulls strangers up out of the water if they've fallen in xP /end of WoW analogy

Mauja is a grumpy git who keeps doing what he's doing, except he also sends a few fire-birds in the face of the Yeti-gorilla-thing, hoping to make it reconsider who it picked to mess with. not sure if he'll hit it because I don't know how close it is (his magic's range is 5ft but he doesn't know that :D). ]
stone cold, man or machine, the end of our dreams.

My eyes widen as I watch the sharks head for the colt. I am unable to do anything to help the boy. "Move!" My eyes roll as a shark moves in my direction. I lower my head and scramble back prepared to use my horn as defense if any of the ocean's predators got too ambitious. My legs shake as I go back. I have never enjoyed the thoughts of the ocean and its mysterious depths. Gods only know what lurks just beneath the surface.

As everyone scrambles to avoid the sharks a new problem comes about. I spin to face the strangest creature I've ever laid eye upon. I race to get away from the water's edge. The last position that I want to be in is between the Yeti or the sharks.

"Split up!" I call out wildly to the group, "Dragon mare and fire stallion stay! You get orb. Keep Safe." As I gallop towards the Yeti I call out to the rest of those I had gathered with. "Come with me. We distract him."

As I watch the Yeti swing his club about another idea dawns upon me. "Dragon mare! Maybe use dragon to draw him to iceberg. He could slam down on ice. Break apart. Dragon with light rock grab treasure."

I dance lightly on my hooves dipping and dodging the monster's swings. A hit from his club could launch me straight to the moon that I love so much. I am prepared to take on the monster should he attack. But first I would like to try to use him to our advantage.
    ___________________________________________________

    Summary:

Keidajen takes leadership of the group. She directs Mauja and Amaris to continue what they are doing because it seems to be working best. She calls everyone else to help distract the Yeti. Whenever Keidajen sees him waving his club about she asks Amaris to use her dragon magic to draw the Yeti to the iceberg so that he might slam his club down on it and break chunks of it off of the top. Keidajen also asks for Kahlua's companion dragon to swoop down and grab the orb if the Yeti busts it loose.

The concerns of the surrounding creatures were commendable, and he administered to their advice, for the most part (some cheeky portion of him still wanted to be the mischievous rebel), carefully winding his way towards the glacier, watching the teamwork of the dragon girl and the icy stag, fire and chill warding and waning. Yearning to be formidable, helpful, he listened to Adelric, and nearly went for the proffered tool, when another idea struck him – because if their fire was helping, couldn’t his? He started with light touches, fine, crisp embers, not enough to boil and sear the iceberg and ensure the orb would be lost forever into the frigid depths, intending to aim for where the draconic creatures, like spirits, were casting their coals. Could he even reach that far? Would it help, or hinder? With renewed sense, with ebullient, determined crescendos, he continued in his task (because every notion, every rumination, filled him with the churning desire to connect and seethe and carry the earnest, bright bulb), until the sound of something moving swiftly through the sea urged him to glance around him.

    Fins broke along the surface.

One by one, they appeared, great, massive beasts unwinding, circling, beneath his feet, then surging upwards, snapping, clasping – he froze, rigid, taut, strung together in unholy horror, in absolute terror, for several moments, gaping at their appearance, at their strength, at their potency, as he ever so quickly became suitable prey, became the bottom of the food chain, a scrap, a snack, in the midst of an eternal ocean; Poseidon and Neptune sovereign no longer.

    Then, he bolted.

It felt disheartening to leave the orb, because the inner fire, the brewing inferno bursting within him called back for it, but the dire need to be away from danger, from treachery, from death outweighed the flailing bits of phoenix insurgency. The princeling galloped across the sea, kicking out towards approaching fins, gills, and wide, devouring maws, menacing, rancorous jaws, racing back towards the embankment –

Only to become wide-eyed again at some behemoth of a monster roaring, lumbering, carrying a colossal weapon, crashing its way through the other orb-seekers. He ceased all movement once he reached the icy shore, tied and tethered into uncertainty. Erebos didn’t want to be the useless, flailing inept child left upon the rocks, for the adults to defend or forget, nor to be sunken by apprehension and trepidation. He was more than that. He had to be.

A sudden burst of frustration coiled and unfurled from his soul: it tasted dark, trenchant, and morbid, an incredulous, malevolent slide, force, clawing and rasping, chiseling its way through the immoral, restless arts of his essence; it sculpted and morphed, like devilish hands, like brutal, gnarled fingertips, springing along invisible chords. He clenched his jaw, narrowed his gaze, and felt the familiar tidings as an old friend (they’d been there before, ruminating, speculating, but so strangely unknown, disconcerting), sending the invocations crashing towards the Yeti. With any luck, perhaps he could control the beast, impact it in meager amounts; maybe cause it to freeze in place while the rest of the equines conquered it.

OOC;; Summary: [Before noticing the sharks, Erebos tries to help the dragons, using little bits of his own fiery magic. However, as the sharks appear, he’s forced to bolt towards the shoreline, kicking out at any approaching him. Once he reaches the embankment, upon seeing the Yeti, he attempts to use his dark, corruption magic, hopefully freezing the Yeti in place for a couple seconds to allow others to gain the upper hand.]

It wasn’t working well. Snorting the gold pauses and notes the melting ice sealing itself against him. He hears shots back from his tunnel and pulls his horned head from the hole to check on the idiots around him. He was greeted by a most bizarre site. A large monster, white and ugly storming them. Brow raised, and golden body braced, but he would not startle that easily. Looking about him as other begin to yell out orders (ha! Like he’d follow those), the gold sees down below in the water sharks begin to swim about. Harks fall back and the gold seems to still, thinking. God he wished that mare would shut it so he could think. What he wouldn’t give to be free from this whole charade of horses….free…Earth eyes flashed with gold. He had an idea.

Turning to his little fawn, who was looking with a great deal of curiosity at the yeti, the gold speaks soft and low. “Nedh! Údant. Ir aglonn, toltho in coron. Si!” [In! Don’t fall. When pass, fetch the globe. Now!] The little deer scurries in the hole. With a wide grin the gold looks about him. Then he’s gone. Invisibility cloaks him from the eyes of others, and his magic protects him from sounding out. Slipping through the crowd silently the golden jogs behind the white beast. It was a most disgusting creature, and the gold was loath to touch it, but it needed to be done. “Surprise!” The gold, not stupid enough to drop his rank magic, charges the back of the beast, horns aimed low. Hopefully being behind the beast he would be protected from the fire and ice he glimpsed coming his way. It was too late now. Might as well tear into the beast while he can.

She was not reserved the way Mauja was, so when he turned to offer her a shy smile she all but beamed radiantly back at him. Watching him work, the steady concentration he had while he sent his ice magic towards the orb (she thought she recognized it as his work, at least), was intoxicating and calming. Indeed- so many around her were focused on the magical ball of light, but the longer she stood in the gathering, the more the extroverted queen found her eyes were only for Mauja. “Good job,” she found herself encouraging him, until…

    A ROAR!

Acutely turning, whole body whirling to face the sound that the yeti had made, Kahlua was not even aware of the sharks in the water. Dancing nervously on the ice, the queen tried her hardest to gather her thoughts; it was difficult beneath the thick blanket of fear that had fallen over her eyes. Whinnying erratically, bouncing on icy ground, the queen tried and just could not seem to get her emotions under control. How Mauja could steady himself to work on two projects was beyond her, but the fire seemed to come from his body as he tried to flame the beast.

Magic, magic, she thought, her body not daring to dance too close to the creature. But she had none that would be useful. Glowing rocks, calming, preventing racism… Nothing she had in her arsenal was meant for war. It was Khan who finally came to the rescue, swooping overhead of his queen, trying to usher her closer to the Frostheart before the brave feathered blue began to fly towards the yeti. Too surprised to try and stop him, the queen felt an otherworldly surge of bravery and joy rush through her- Khan’s emotions as ice blew from his lips. For indeed, he had heard Keidajen’s call, and the thought amused him.

His ice was meager as of yet, hardly cold enough to freeze a yeti, but perhaps blowing some in the creature’s face (if he could aim there well enough) would be annoying enough to draw the creature towards him. Trying several times, Khan would blow ice and then move closer to the glacier, trying to draw haired creature and swinging club towards the ice. Would it work? Perhaps, or perhaps not, but it was more than the queen was doing.

Summary| Khan tries to shoo Kahlua closer to Mauja where she will be safe, then follow’s Keidajen’s directions and tries to draw the yeti towards the glacier; his hope is that the yeti will swing his club and break some of the ice.

The half-child is not offended that his horn is not taken- fire works much better on ice than horns probably do, in his opinion- and he places it gently back in Tobias’ antlers. However, that leaves the half-child without much of a job to do and he isn’t sure where to begin. There are so many helping, he isn’t even sure he wants to join in, except to help his friend. Or his sister, perhaps, who has called down to him from above. So… how can he help? The answer still eludes him, until suddenly… “Sharks!” The call jumps from his mouth with alarm, but Erebos seems to have noticed them already, jumping away, dancing out of the water with ease. The half-child’s face alights in a smirk, happy that his friend has escaped, but a roar behind him indicates there is another problem.

Whirling, Tobias bleating as he looks out, the two catch sight of the yeti. Almost instantly, the surgeon is looking towards his friend- searching for guidance or some other sign. He finds nothing, except harrowed concentration on the face of his friend. Is Erebos once again trying to use his magic, trying to flame the ice beast back to whence he came? No flames erupt, and the half-child does not know what to make of it. Still, he is emboldened. Unsure of what to do, he lowers his horn, anger building within him that he can do nothing but guard as he stands there, horn hopefully pointed towards the creature.

It is a call from some invisible force beyond the yeti (Surprise!) that causes the half-child to change, his head jerking towards the sky. Panic, rage, desire flow through him, and he feels some magic within him released, though he doesn’t know what it is. He knows, however, that he is doing something. Something… dark. He likes it. Shifting closer to his friend, the half-child looks over the yeti, wondering if he can find remnants of some damage he might have caused there. What had he done?

Summary| Tries to use his horn/scalpel blade magic on the yeti.
