SETTING: DURING the Edge/Basin invasion on the Falls, since healers only got to post once officially.

Alysanne
When they had arrived in the Falls, masked as a peaceful part, Alysanne stuck close to Thor, Aaron and their group. She memorized the faces of those that she would be looking after but soon, everything fell apart. It felt as though she blinked and suddenly there was chaos all around her. The earth trembled with the might of Archibald’s magic and she felt the trembling continue in her bones long after it had dissipated. Green eyes widened, the white rims showing as her heart beat wildly with adrenaline and fear pulsing through her and muddling her thoughts. She watched as her friends and family began to throw themselves at members of the Falls - ganging up on them. Sometimes two, three, or four of “their” side against the members of the Falls. They were using magic and limbs to cause as much pain and damage as possible.

Never before had she seen anything like this, never before had she witnessed a war, and it chilled her - rooting her to her spot as those in her charge moved off to find their targets. From the moment Archibald led the attack she felt as though she could not catch her breath, deep intakes coming ragged as she tried to remember why they were here. Why she was here when it was against everything she believed in.

She might have stayed there in that one spot, frozen in fear, if it had not been for the efforts of Valiance and Thor. The dragon swooped toward her, puffing smoke out at her and giving her something to focus on and snap her out of it. Soon after, the call from the large bay stallion beckoned her to follow him. His words echoed in her mind and she realized that she did not fear for herself. She felt fear for him, for her family, but mostly she felt fear for the family that they were destroying. Her heart ached when she looked around. Was it worth it?

Alysanne had been told who her group was, who she was responsible for, and she had learned the faces of those that she did not know the names of. Thor, Aaron, Ciceron, and the blue roan mare. But she realized that it did not matter who she was assigned to - she was a healer and she was not going to refuse her magic to anyone, no matter what side she was on. She felt calmer with this decision though a new emotion that she had never felt was rising within her at the same time.

Anger.

Never before had the gentle doctor felt that emotion course through her, not even a glimmer of it. But now it came in waves, a hurricane in her veins as it pumped violently through her.

She discovered that she hated Archibald, Kaj and - in some small way that would soon fade - Kahlua for bringing them here. For forcing this life upon them. For encouraging all of this.

So yes, she knew who her group was, but she didn’t care any longer. Well, after she made sure none of them really needed her - she did that, at least, because they were part of her herd and she did care for them. But there were others that had needed her attention and she did not pay attention to who was fighting whom - there were so many strangers here, she didn’t even know the difference between many of them.

Moving away from Thor, she found others - a stallion splashed in white that had been speaking with some fondness to a the blue roan mare that had been in her group, and a pale white mare with antlers. To them both she let the healing mists reach toward, lending them whatever strength she had, but her attention drew back to Archibald. Again that pulse of anger, again a wave of hatred, as their massive king picked on Ghost, the leader of the Falls that he had called for on their entrance. She was fighting valiantly but there was such a strength difference in them both and she felt as though she could see it waning from the winged mare.

Already Alysanne knew there was not much strength left in her that was not fueled by anger, not a valuable emotion when it came to healing, but she sent what was left of it to the Czarina to boost her until the end, until this madness stopped. The two small companions on her back stopped her from throwing her own body between the two - blocking the blows and dealing with the consequences of such actions later.

This place would be no home for Alysanne, she would not sleep on a bed won by war and madness, nor follow monarchs that encouraged it. The Edge had won her over with its peace and the lush family that had welcomed her when she had wandered into Helovia two years ago. Even if she stayed here with them, that peace was gone and her heart was broken for the loss.
