"And oh there is more to this life"

"I can smell the sea!" rang through the trees as the hazel brute paced swiftly downwards past tree and rock, headed at a bound for the beckoning ocean. Tilney was speaking to no one in particular, he was more or less alone. If asked he would say he was cheering to the birds as if asking to join in his jovial chorus.
This flaxen lad had only ever felt the sea spray once upon those gold locks, Only once heard the sighing of waves in his hazel ears, Only once felt the aqua between the crevasses of his cloven stones, and only once it had been that he had smelt the fresh salt in the air that the gulls so loved to soar on.

He had only happy memories of the seaside. Tilney recalled spending the better half of his second spring in a cluster of hills caught between river and ocean. Such happy memories. He had longed since that spring to feel the sand under his sharp hooves.
He did wonder as he rushed towards the pristine white sand if he had wandered too far. It would be quite impossible to return to the falls before nightfall struck him once again.

That would be another job for the day, finding a tidy hidden nook to rest for the night where he wouldn't be found. In the falls he had found himself returning to the same spot behind a patch of vines, but it wouldn't take too long until his hiding place was discovered and his secret along with it.

Finally, marble hooves bound with the ivory beach sand and he was there. The sand was deeper and harder to travel through then he remembered, and he stumbled slightly upon entry. "woah!" He gasped (again, really speaking only to himself).
A snipped nose tossed upwards and he cheered once more to the birds, socked legs scratching through the deep sand. He had forgotten that deep water was even harder to travel through then a little sand as he plunged into the beaches aqua. Within a few steps his body had travelled too far ahead of his legs, and he staggered right over. Tilney had plummeted right into the hock-deep water.

He rose, slightly started at first. The water dripped form his velvetine pelt and a merry snort escape his lungs. The time was taken to gaze at the grass dunes and the rocky shelf over head. "such a beautiful place" fell from his lips.

But if you close your eyes, does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?

Once more, Ardere had pulled her back toward the ocean. The eager dolphin forever flashing images of the gentle, lulling waves across Laedere's mind. It didn't seem to matter much that they had a plentiful amount of this clear liquid pouring from the heavens in the Falls. Aye, this sea-water was much more appetizing for the dolphin's taste.

The hooves padded along the soil, turned into sand and moved up closer and closer to the lapping waves. At least the waves always had a delicate lull to them that would offer a sense of peace to those who were willing to accept it. Though, it was only once Ardere shot forward toward the waves that Laedere allowed her wings to lightly stretch out. The muscles on her wings relaxed as she allowed her normally carefully hidden hole to come into sight.

Well… at least it was in sight until she realized she was not completely alone. Her mind had wandered just enough that she had not caught onto the flaxen stag at the sea's edge. Her audits flickered, just barely catching onto the word 'place' from the stag's words. Instantly, she jerked her wings back up against her barrel - fluffing them out just enough that they would not become sore, but would hide the majority of her missing feathers.

Her bandage looped, dried blood cracked against the fabric as it drooped across the sand and her eyes flickered straight toward the other stag. Her right side, where her missing feathers resided, were in plain sight of the stag. Though, he had a different appearance. No wings, just antlers and… was that a dead tree marking across his hide?

Ardere shot forward, having soaked her hide in the water, sucking in some of the water through her blow-hole and then spraying it just close enough to Laedere to offer her a cooling mist. There was a gentle laugh from the winged one's maw before she continued to peer at the other, unsure of whether or not to approach and say something, or to allow him to relish the waves and the salty scent of the sea-side.
